Re: Hands On: Should 'Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour' Be A Pack-In Game?

@Lanmanna Sony has been pretty good with frequent price reductions on digital first-party games, and even buying discs used is often less expensive than used Switch cartridges.

The OG Switch never dropped in price, what makes you think they'll feel the pressure to drop the price of the next one? It was $299 at launch, and it still is on Amazon. Nintendo is currently in a place, I'm sure, where they feel they can do no wrong and can charge what they like. Sure they can, but I'm not buying.

Re: Capcom Slashes The Price Of Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney In Big eShop Sale (US)

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is the absolute steal in that list. I mean it's old, and probably anyone thinking of trying it has already since it goes on sale frequently enough, BUT.... if you're reading this and you haven't played it, go get your sith together and dive in.

The Dark Arisen DLC content expands the replayability of the game, frankly changes the game in a similar way that Shadow of the Erdtree changed Elden Ring.

Re: Video: "It's Got Big Nintendo Vibes" - We Dive Into Astro Bot With Our Friends At Push Square

Astro's Playroom is a remarkable intro to the PS5 hardware, and super fun to play. I don't see the problem that others do regarding similar gameplay mechanics. Did Nintendo get upset when Fromsoft played BotW and thought "We could do that!" and made Elden Ring? Did Fromsoft get upset when Nintendo played Elden Ring and thought "We could do that!" and made Tears of the Kingdom?

No.

ALSO - The Switch couldn't run this game well. It wouldn't look the same. It looks deceptively low-tech, but there is a lot going on - even in Astro's Playroom which is considerably smaller.

Re: Random: Coder Creates Super Mario 64 For The GBA, And It's Looking Excellent

@Kiwi_Unlimited
Well I personally think the obsession was worth it. It was a ground-breaking game, showed that 3d platformers were feasible, and established 3d movement conventions that are used to this day. Anti-matter has me blocked, apparently, so I never saw his post, but historically I don't take his opinion all that seriously.

Mario 64 was and is an incredible game, and this GBA version is a technical feat, if not a visual acid trip.

Re: Atari's First 'Sprint' Game In Three Decades Launches On Switch Next Month

I don't mean to hate on this game but like... why are iso-racers still a thing? I get motion sick watching this stuff. I didn't like them back when I had the SEGA channel circa 1994, and I had the option to play something like this or a pseudo-3d game like Road Rash. These aren't in fashion any more for many reasons, the biggest of which is that controlling them is an exercise in frustration. Rant over.

Re: Biomutant Finally Secures A Release Date On Switch

lol it's gonna run like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

But really, "all the previously released DLC" isn't that just one character class? This feels like a desperate gambit on behalf of the developer to tap into the "money fountain" that is the switch. I don't think this will work out, though. I have it on PS5 (originally PS4) and it doesn't run super smooth there, the gameplay is repetitive and the hand-to-hand combat is unsatisfying. The gunplay is loose. The aesthetic is neat, I think that's all it ever has had going for it.
