@ComfyAko I'm not stopping anyone from doing anything. Maybe I'm convincing some poor soul on the edge of an "oh maybe this will finally make me happy" purchase to re-evaluate their situation, and realize that they don't miss the STUFF from their childhood but rather their childhood itself.

They've been chasing this dragon for so long; that feeling you get as a child - the feeling of everything being novel, stressless, and adventurous - that they've wasted hundreds if not thousands of dollars/pounds/euros on fruitless pursuits, vanities, and distractions. In the evening of their life, when they look back on their healthy, youthful adult years, will they regret having squandered them on acquiring plastic baubles? A house full of soulless dolls, offering neither affection nor the satisfaction of having regained childhood wonder...

Though again, I'm not stopping anybody from doing anything.

The original Phantasy Star Online... it was nothing like Phantasy Star. It was Diablo x Phantasy Star, and though it was ok for what it was as something new, it wasn't as good as the original 4 games. It was the beginning of the end for that franchise as something that could legitimately transport you somewhere magical.

Man i don’t need that kind of pressure in my gaming. Returnal has got me on edge as it is, and at least on that i can wander around at my leisure once I’ve taken out baddies and figure out what’s next. This just looks anxiety inducing.

I like shorter trigger throws for a system that doesn’t use analogue trigger functions, and though I love the ergonomics of the original gc controller, I can’t see picking this up unless my pro controllers crap out.

Yeah... my Switch got semi-retired this year. I used to it play the occasional round of Zelda BotW, or Mario Kart, but mostly have relegated it to pixel-art games on it for the past year and a half. I leaned on my PS4 (now PS5) for modern gaming experiences, including better versions of (much) older games that took graphical hits in the porting process (Persona 5 Royal, No Man's Sky, NieR).

Yeah, my Switch is a pixel-art gaming machine (it helps the battery life when playing handheld, too... my Switch is a day-one purchase system) and its battery does NOT hold up when playing a more demanding title.

I can't read half the stuff that comes out in games now. Most games feel like their UI is optimized for PC monitors, and I'm like 7 feet away from a TV straining to read small text. Help me out, Square.

I'll just be waiting for the inevitable sale on the eShop. I'd like to play these again, but they don't need to be on a cartridge. I'm no collector.

A blind person could have seen that the Japanese box art was superior, it's incredible.

I didn't pick it up on Switch since I got almost every ending on PS4, but I'm happy for the studio. Still have yet to pick up Nier Replicant... waiting for a digital sale.

@Kiwi_Unlimited 100% If I had the ability to watch videos I'd go to youtube. I come to news sites to read. Game news, REAL news, whatever it is... videos are a no-go for me like 9 out of 10 times.

@Realness 100% first encounter with the regenerators was the scariest part of that game.

So what happened is either they lowballed her, or she asked for an absurd amount of money...

Well if the truth is in the middle somewhere, there are two conclusions to which we can come.

1) She thinks her talent is worth more than a company that hires VA thinks.

2) She thinks she holds ownership over the character to the point where she can straight-faced tell people to boycott the game.

Either way, she is definitely not in the right because of conclusion #2. Her demand to boycott is petty, and out of touch with reality.

@wiiware Agreed. Not much parallax going on, very flat-feeling out of the box. Maybe it'll get dressed up by release but I'm not convinced. Feels more like an NES Metroid game than a SNES Metroid game.
