Re: Review: Hardcore Mecha - Thrillingly Overblown Anime-Style Robot Action

I actually gave up on waiting for a sale on PS4 with this game- it hasn't been on sale once since it debuted last January. I used my eShop points and picked this up along with it's DLC, at a savings of like 6 bucks. Flawed as the eShop might be, those gold points are... well, golden. Sony has been screwing devs over in regards to sales, and therefore their customers.

I love this game btw. Real Gundam-y vibes.

@RPGamer It’s like when a sane person tries to convince you that they’re not a psychopath by behaving as “normal” as possible and all you can think is “textbook psychopath behavior, trying to fool me by acting normal.”

@GilbertXI Yes BUT is the sword a point of focus in the Japanese cover? It is present without drawing attention to itself. Look at the composition and implied emotion of the western cover versus the Japanese cover- violent vs. serene.

Typical- western release focusing on the violent aspects of a game. They both look stupid as hell but the western one is particularly absurd. I refuse to vote. There should be an option to say all designs suck, in future cover polls.

@mp_72 I would be ok with SH 1-4 as a package. The Room was frustrating towards the end, but had some of the most personal character development (outside of 2) of the entire series. Really felt like you were fighting for something, if only your own survival.

Origins and Homecoming can keep to themselves. Downpour was alright, but felt only marginally silent-hillesque. Could have been it's own IP honestly.

@maulinks That's the entire reason I will probably purchase the sith out of this game. I buy digital but if it's good I'll buy a physical copy to support their business. We need new platformer IP's. The italian plumber is not doing it for me much anymore. Imho odyssey feels confused and inconsistent from one world to the next.

@BillyB The gameplay was boring??? I don't know if we played the same Nights into Dreams... I had the game proper (with the 3d pad) and the Christmas disc, which was tons of content in and of itself. Of the many words I'd use to describe the gameplay, boring never comes to mind. Fluid, fast, difficult? Sure. If you got gud, you could pull off some really sick aerial acrobatic runs.
