Picked it up for my 3 year old. Certainly not as bad as I thought it would be, I've found it a lot of fun playing with my little guy. Worth a 7 in my book, it's got some issues but quite a bit of content.

Re: Feature: Reflecting on Time Spent With the Nintendo Switch

I'm noticing, compared with the Wii U launch and the months leading up to it, the overall press and consumer buzz seem generally positive. I remember the articles, literally daily, just slamming on Big N and the U, long before it's launch. Feels different this time around. I hope the system does well.

@River3636
All I can really remember about that game was how difficult it was and spending hours and months getting through it. Then taking a screenshot (on film, of course), and waiting an extra day for processing before mailing the photos to Nintendo for proof.

Re: Outspoken Analyst Has A Good Feeling About The Nintendo NX

He might be douchy, but MP made some valid points. Kinda surprised he didn't mention dropping the Wii brand name and a better (actual) marketing campaign for the NX than what the Wii U had.
It seems a little weird to me the positive buzz the NX is getting compared to what the U was getting prior to its launch, which wasnt very good.

Re: Research Highlights That Older Gamers Drift Away From Competitive Gaming But Still Enjoy Strategy

I'm an "older" gamer, old enough where my first system was a Colecovision, but I remember my dad busting out the Pong system years before that. Online competitive gaming is of little to no interest to me. Single player RPGs are my current cup of tea, which seems to be the norm judging by the survey and comments.
What has me more curious however is how the industry will change/adjust/cater to an aging, yet still active, gaming crowd.

Re: Talking Point: Online Gaming Can't Recreate the Unique Fun of Local Multiplayer, Yet It's Dominant

Never been into online gaming other than the occasional dip of the toe with MK8. Maybe it's being part of the "older" pre-internet gaming crowd or the fact I frankly look at gaming as a personal hobby and don't give a flying leap what everyone else plays for fun. Local multiplayer is great for parties, but I'll always prefer the lights out and a great single player RPG experience over a headset and dying 15 seconds into a FPS. We're a dying breed, I hope we're not forgotten as the industry moves forward.
