Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

Znake

@johnvboy I think you severely misunderstood my concept. Switch success is thanks to third party support. So switch needs to be able to run new gen games with stable frame rate. I know gaming since the NES. Every Nintendo gen that had limited third party support has failed- look at N64, GC, Wii U. Wii was success partially thanks to motion gimmicks but this won’t work anymore. I am not saying Switch 2 needs to run GTA6 but Switch 2 will be the parallel gen of ps6 and Nintendo needs to stay relevant and will need to run third party games from that gen too! You need to see the bigger picture. Are you saying that it’s ok that almost 10year old games on Switch today that freeze at times like Arkham Knight is ok?! No it isn’t and Nintendo needs to be ready for this. Releasing a proper home console on par with ps5 would be better- but that most likely won’t happen of course.

Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

Znake

@arabiansanchez you are right, but Nintendo needs third party support and that’s why Switch was successful as it is- but the gap is becoming so huge that now Switch has huge issues with Arkham knight which is a ps4 game, and PlayStation since then had ps4 pro, ps5, now ps5 pro and I bet by the time gta6 releases it will be on ps6 possible( even though they always release late gen to have higher sales) so Nintendo can’t afford to have the same issues as current gen, and it needs to be powerful enough to handle ports in stable locked framerates. Arkham knight was freezing at times on Switch. I am for a new Nintendo home console not portable and have power of at least a base ps5!

Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

Znake

I think Nintendo should take this one not account and be very careful, because any Nintendo generation that had limited third party support had failed big time. Switch is the first Nintendo console to have a very good support and that’s why it’s so successful, but already now we see huge issues with Arkham Knight and that is a ps4 game. In a few years there will be ps6 - and Switch is weaker than ps4, significantly, and there was already ps4 Pro, Ps5, Ps5 Pro soon, and ps6 maybe in 2-3 years. Nintendo really needs to catch up if they wanna be successful. It’s not about graphics and raw power, but even if Switch 2 gets degraded ports that run terribly like Arkham Knight, it will be a very bad failure for Nintendo and so I believe the next Nintendo system should be a pure home console that could use Switch 1 as a peripheral device but Nintendo needs more power for Next gen since maybe 1-2 years after its release, there will be ps6!!! That jump could make porting under stable frame rates impossible. Careful Nintendo!!! Be very careful!!!!!

Re: Zelda Producer Responds To Fans Who Want A More "Traditional Linear" Adventure

Znake

Of course people want it mainly from Nostalgia purposes. TOTK has better replayability than any Zelda before, and I think they did amazing job. I feel the only way to satisfy us players who grew up with Ocarina is to give us a proper OOT Remake in the style of Wii U Tech Demo! Some harder to think through puzzles, new combat and AI and that would be phenomenal. However I disagree with playable Zelda- that’s the cheapest way to evolve a series- let’s make a more playable characters- I FELT it’s a filler that’s not as good as the main protagonist- like GOW Ragnarok- Atreus was just ok, and Spider-Man? I enjoyed previous entries more. Companions were actually supplemented well through summons and they were cool. For playable Zelda- the only way I can imagine her- is have her as a playable Shiek in Ocarina of Time Remake.

Re: The Game Awards GOTY For 2023 Is Baldur's Gate 3

Znake

Lol if Baldurs Gate Players actually played TOTK, the vote would go elsewhere. These awards are pointless! If Baldurs Gate releases on both PlayStation and Xbox and has even pc community support and fanbases , and Zelda only on Switch, how can voters truly pick the better game. I got tired of these awards and even Oskars, because it’s hacked and the winner must be a game that will make most money to the top companies and obviously this is 3 vs 1. Nothing bad against Baldurs Gate 3, but competing with Zelda?!!!! Zelda has 3 world maps-incredible transitions, each world has a special purpose, the lore, the religious and sci-fi ideologies, the story of eternal love and evil, true open world where every item has multiple applications, the mini games and just the amount of gameplay diversity, and game flexibility where nothing is forced and anything is optional- the game can truly be as long as players want and the same can be said about challenge. Not mentioning the skills, summons, and Fusing weapons and creating inventions! If Zelda didn’t win game of the year, it’s a clear example that voting today is not about choosing better quality, but satisfying mass opinions and shaping marketing so nobody gets upset. This is a shame because game quality and contribution should be valued as number one! Hope more people recognise it even if it’s not their cup of tea, and those who did play it most likely agree. TOTK is the best game of all time for all it’s done, and no game will easily surpass it at least for another 6-10 years. This year is rare! And getting a quality release like this not appreciated as they should be is wrong! Game of the year should be a celebration of game in all regards, and I would even say that BG3 is far more niche game than Zelda. It’s almost like letting Superman lose against Flash in terms of skills. But Superman (Link) has a cryptonite weakness, and that’s being released on a system that has two communities or 3 if I count PC against itself, plus Switch is deemed childish. I really feel this is not right and it should have been Zelda and this awards are insult to gaming but that’s life. Hopefully more people get to play both and really see who the true winner!

Re: We’ve Played Batman: Arkham Knight On Switch - Here’s 17 Minutes Of Gameplay

Znake

@rainbowtick I know they need to respect the original look of Knight, but if the system can’t handle it, they should have opted for more Zelda style graphics or just wait for new system to release!!! This starts to get annoying! Also the cartridge sizes! Switch is the only console where a fraction of the releases is on the cartridge- look at Doom, Metal Gear Collection, now Batman!!!!! Wake up people and let Nintendo know this is not ok! Next is Resident evil games- all in cloud because Switch can’t run them, then Kingdom Hearts Games- cloud only, Hitman-cloud, and many more,….How can nobody complain that Switch is getting these half cooked physical releases and no longer gets proper releases for big third party titles!!!! They have scraped off the bottom of the barrel to an extreme! We need a serious horsepower for the next system and I won’t be forgiving any more crappy releases by Nintendo! I used to side with N over PS, but Nintendo has been abusing its loyal fan base for too long, just because a lot of the users are kids, who don’t even know how to voice their opinions.

Re: Video: Where Does Mario Kart Go From Here?

Znake

It could diversify content- more items that are level based. More levels being a different game. A race could have different physics. Go deeper in terms of underwater and space combat. Having a race that goes into space like Star Fox. Could invade someones cart and on success the carts can swap. Having more combat to the back and to sides. More items! Some level based and some character based. Some items could get powered up with 10coins too!

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch Online's N64 Release Schedule

Znake

@JohnnyMind yes for sure it will continue on the next system but what next. You still won’t own it and if you wanted to try the games in 15years it’s gone. This is about game preservation. I wouldn’t mind paying 10-15 bucks for each N64 game. So if you consider how much people might pay for NSO in 7-10years. Many people would spend much more and still keep the service so they would definitely make more money.

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch Online's N64 Release Schedule

Znake

@CainTheConfused lol how old are you? Yes naturally you can lose anything from even physical cartridge! The main point is, which you clearly don’t understand- if you pay for NSO, you never own the software so once the service discontinues you can’t access it anymore. If you have it downloaded and paid for it, if the service discontinues- it stays in your system. What’s hard to understand?

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch Online's N64 Release Schedule

Znake

Still do t understand why they don’t add an option to individually purchase those games while having them all on NSO- I am sure there are audiences for both! Anyway, I bet there are people like me who have their N64, and won’t ever touch NSO- so enabling to purchase these games-they will finally convince people like me to waste more money, because most people I know hate subscription platforms, because we all know that this platform will be gone one day as it’s predecessors and the money for subs wasted. Nintendo let us just buy them too!

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Znake

@BTB20 if you read between the lines you might see it’s not me judging this direct, it’s about the decrease in quality overall. I am not the only one who wasn’t interested in a single game- and that also says something? It means there is no original idea-mere carbon copy content for the sake of selling and making money. Games are about ideas- and I didn’t notice anything original. Are you saying it’s ok to allow average games into widely expected direct that doesn’t come weekly? I wouldn’t mind if this content was mentioned on sidelines, but these directs come overt few months and if this shows peak indie games, than I am shocked you don’t complain seither, because if these are all high quality games for you, that would enable big studios release average bad content even more- and that happens still- if people don’t complain- we get more micro transactions in games, more forced online connections, more unfinished games that need patches right after launch! And that’s not ok! Back then, games released finished and the overall quality was better. I think people should rise their voices and have higher standards than just streamlining everything for the sake of making even IQ50 players be able to play because more purchases are more important than good quality content. Just saying!

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Znake

@anoyonmus let’s not focus on silly typos please if we are both adults. If you have played games, read books, watched movies for over 35 years, you can tell what is quality, how things are marketed, what are mere carbon copy titles in new coats just to make quick money. Gaming has been on decline for some time and I don’t need to play every game to see so. I am not judging any game particularly, I am judging released content and marketing-focus which is obviously to make money.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Znake

@IceEarthGuard that’s a good point for sure, but if you have been playing games and knowing the business for over 30years like me, you would maybe understand that the overall quality is rapidly decreasing. Not judging all these games, but just reflecting my impression overall over the gaming trends, ne gaming business. Games today are more about making money than making fun experiences, and these directs are more marketing tools to just keep selling more stuff even if it’s not that great. Back when I was a kid, if there was a game in a magazine- those were some of the top
Games. Nowadays, anyone canarket anything and the market is overflowing. I believe we need higher quality directs and higher quality games. Back then if you release a game- you release it when it’s finished. Today even Indie games release unfinished because making profit is just more important than waiting little longer and offering a complete product! So quantity over quality!!! That’s not ok! Everything gets monetized, micro transactions, forced online-because people became the product, not the game. So trust me, that my intent is good, unfortunately many consumers don’t see this, and it’s very sad!

Re: Zelda's Voice Actor Would "Love" To Reprise Her Role In The Live-Action Movie

Znake

@HaileySheridon I am glad you liked it, but that doesn’t mean it was a good game. It doesn’t meet the quality standard of BOTW or TOTK. As a Warriors game they stripped so many strategic components that Age of Calamity is really a watered down game with very little depth. It’s even more streamlined and linear experience which is contradicting the warriors concept. Characters are overpowered and you are just bulldozering waves with zero strategy to it. It great if you resonated with the game but for me I am looking at it from a higher perspective and it’s sad for me to say it because I was very excited for it, and then never finished it because I got bored. for a new gamer it might feel fresh but I have been playing over 35 years and see how genres evolve, how gaming changes, standards lower,… hard to describe. Also as a big fan of Zelda games, I have the highest possible standard for it so that’s the main reason why I also wouldn’t do a life action movie- because the market is overblown with CGI and bland acting, and Zelda deserves more! It needs to be a unique experience and most importantly artistic experience- movie would make it into another fantasy, but Animeted style would make it more unique and the silent hero would work better in Anime than having a mute actor. If you have seen Ghibli movies-you would know that these films expressed more than most fantasy films ever.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Znake

@anoyonmus LOL it’s funny anyone defends this. I bet 99 percent of people won’t be interested in majority of these titles! If you like average thrash indie games, and won’t voice your opinion to get better titles, we will get crappy announcements if you are ok with it. Based on your reply it’s clear how short sighted you are, or you work for this platform and defend this bad content.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Znake

@CornflakeCookie that’s tough. But Ocarina remains the best Zelda and I feel if they brought a new and deep combat with new elements that could be new covered in old as well. Remember the Wii U Tech demo? Having a Zelda as detailed and polished would be awesome. I think after TOTK which essentially is a rehash of Ocarina of time story, they can’t really do much more beside bringing crazy time Traveling into the future and creating even more contrast between old tech and new.

Re: Zelda's Voice Actor Would "Love" To Reprise Her Role In The Live-Action Movie

Znake

@HaileySheridon Sorry but even though I missed underwater- we got the same experience through low gravity fields! And it’s definitely worth making a third game for- just for underwater lol. Also Age of Calamity was a big B tier average game and that was enough to waste extra time in the same world. Now we need a proper Ocarina of Time remake in the style of Wii U tech demo! That’s something Zelda franchise deserves- deep, intimate and highly polished experience. Not Age of Calamity which was even worse than Hyrule Warriors in many ways.

Re: Miyamoto And Avi Arad Have Been Discussing The Zelda Movie For A Decade

Znake

Live action would be a terrible choice!!!! It would create another CGI bland type of phantasy. Bring studio Ghibli on board instead! Having Zelda movie in the style of Princess Mononoke would be the only choice to give it the serious and artistic note that Zelda universe deserves! Please no real actors! That would be the fail of a decade!

Re: Japanese Charts: It's Onwards And Upwards For Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Znake

Upwards only with good marketing thanks to the movie. It’s hardly the best 2D Mario and definitely not the best platformer on switch. It’s sad that people misplace fame and hype with quality game. It has good art style, effects and great controls, but most people’s attention is taken by visuals which in many minds take attention away from depth which this game severely lacks. It has creative effects but it’s too streamlined with minimal difficulty even in the hardest levels. It’s a huge disappointment!!!!! And mainly because this should be the leading platformer. The king of platforming is still DK Tropical Freeze!

Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2D Platformers

Znake

@OorWullie yeah Tropical Freeze deserves more recognition. Now I got quite disappointed by the childish difficulty of Mario Wonder and realised how amazing TF is. Wonder pales in comparison.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

Znake

Burn Konami for putting Zero Effort into this, and mainly how you treated the Switch physical release having zero MGS game on Cartridge!!!!!! Why is is so difficult to polish a game before release?! Any company that does this deserves low sales to learn their lessons. This is a flagship franchise for Konami and this shows what people are employed at the top! Those should be fired!!!!!!
