With everyone having a smartphone these days, while Nintendo offering more features on phone apps, they should have integrated the chat into an app. Almost everyone today has a phone, tablet…, the game chat stealing resources that could go into higher frame rates, ray tracing, or better textures is mindblowing. This is the most useless feature that just drags the system down. I hope the devs will have a choice to opt out of the chat and use the resources for their own purposes.
I wish we could have a choice to buy the console without the Joycons and buy 3rd party controllers separately since I don’t trust the new joycons. I believe that if Nintendo would be confident enough in their new analogues, they would reflect it in their presentation, but they avoid it! Meaning, they can’t be 100% sure. It would also make more sense since most players have controllers from Switch 1, and having this option would reduce the base price drastically.
Thanks to such deep hearted passionate developers who do the best for their fans! Every developer should have the same standard and deliver final products on physical media with no patches, updates or dlc ever needed! I will buy their game for Switch 2 just for their passion! And of course it’s a great game! Hope they do the same for Switch with the next Witcher game!
@Znake Devs also don’t mention that game designers have far more advanced tools to make their job much easier. Before, each studio had to develop their own engine to run their game-this has been eliminated by most studios using the same engine(with a few exceptions), and during these phases games didn’t become cheaper!
This is just to confuse people who care for physical and to make them buy these incomplete game releases. I would never buy anything like a game key card!!!!! It might not be bound to an account but still bound to a server! Once those servers are gone, so will the games! This is a riddiculous practice! Give customers a choice! Let us choose if we want to pay extra and have a full physical release the very least since the 64gb cards cost a bit more. I understand that some devs want more profit for themselves and key card is a cheap alternative, but their profit should not take priority over satisfied customer.
At least the collectors edition should have a physical release! This is just plain ridiculous. This makes me question if to even bother buying the Switch 2 if this will be done with many games probably.
Such a poor article, mainly when you have actually played Tears of the Kingdom, and know there is an armor that negates fall damage no matter the height!
@Pillowpants it looks great, but the constant destruction seems to slow down the game pace and in the presentation there was ZERO platforming! Which makes me worried considering this should be mainly a platformer!
NOT these Devs!!!!! Spyro and Crash are ok, but they don’t reach the highs of Mario Odyssey for example. Nintendo would do better job at reviving Banjo!
I will never buy this! Full game on cartridge or no buy! Nintendo got really tricky with this! But still the game key is bound to a server, so once the license expires or server goes down, the game is gone!!!! Nintendo should only increase price for games that require more space on cartridge-that would be reasonable, but not this!!!!!!
@Residentsteven I totally agree with you. The game feels interesting but how long will the destruction feel fun? If it’s too much it just slows the pace and the game is supposed to be mainly a platformer, and while the trailer showed some 2D part very briefly, the entire Threehouse presentation had ZERO platforming!!!!! I worry this game might be fun to play once but may not have the replayability of Tropical Freeze or 3D World, even Odyssey!
@NielsNL yes it’s a more flexible download code not tied to an account but tied to servers. When these servers go down or the software disappears because of some licensing, your key card becomes a plastic waste! Support physical games!!!
I am surprised nobody ever mentions that this game has almost no platforming, which is the core of the experience, and this game should cover for 3D Mario. There were some sections in the trailer that seem to have some 2D gameplay parts but during Threehouse Preseentations they showed huge parts of the game and there was NO platforming at all!!!!!!! The destructible gimmick seems fun but that’s not gonna be fun for a long time! I hope there will be more challenge and platforming in the gameplay since the past DK titles even though 2D, those games had phenomenal platforming crafted to perfection so I hope I am not alone who feels that this game should have platforming.
I believe the drift is a programmed defect! When I calibrate the sticks, the cursor is rapidly in high frequency flying around the center. If it was a physical damage or overuse, the stick would either tend to go more to a particular direction but wouldn’t shake in multiple direction in such speed! I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s intentional programming so they just keep selling more controllers! I am disgusted because the only controllers that have zero drift are third party! All official Nintendo Pro Controllers I bought have a drift which started just weeks after a first use!!!!!! That’s intolerable!!!!!!
The only case where I would tolerate higher price is if the cartridge need far higher capacity to fit the whole game! Which isn’t the case of Mario Kart! For Elden Ring I would understand. Nintendo moved production out of China since the Tarif situation was expected, so do not bring politics Nintendo into the subject! And if PS5 sells first party games for 60-70 dollars and those games ha e development cycles of 6-7 years, then Nintendo has no reason to increase the price! This is just greed! Iwata is dearly missed, the new Nintendo president is just an economist that doesn’t understand games and just wants profits! Sad days Nintendo!
@BolkaRover good troll, please do not make invalid comments! Increasing a game price 20-30usd is not ok, and selling a physical game cartridge without the full game content is not ok. It’s a way to confuse people and making them feel like they buy physical. No! This is not OK! And if you are paid by Nintendo to paste optimistic comments here, your messages are completely out of place.
My hype went to Zero, after finding out games won’t be complete on cartridge for physical releases which should be a standard, and in combination with their price politics of 10-20,- USD higher prices for a game? Who will buy 80 digital and 90 physical?! That’s manipulation to force people into Fully Digital and corporately controlled game environment that takes our game ovnership rights away! I was really considering a day 1 purchase, and now feeling that I won’t want to spend this money over the next few years. This may force me to just skip this gen and assuming the following gen will be digital only ( end of quality gaming right there).
Big Fail Nintendo! Everyone I know hates those codes in boxes, and now they made it even more scammy but actually putting a card in the box which doesn’t still have the game!!!!!! This should not be allowed! Either release a full physical or only digital!
It’s so weird that there is a clear big interest in on rail shooters, yet Nintendo still won’t release Star Fox Zero, which was an excellent game, except for a few levels! It was done by Platinum and it’s such a highly polished game that I wish to play again! It’s much more fun than Panzer Dragoon! I have also bought many alternatives on Switch but they don’t compare. Hope this game will at least offer more deeper gameplay along with fun bosses and finding hidden branching paths!
@Mattock1987 because they don’t want the only good games that were still supported by Iwata to overshadow their last few years of their miserable and low effort work! I would shoot Pokemon company to another dimension so they don’t insult the gaming industry.
Absolutely terrible, how can people tolerate their zero efforts in game development. Wish Iwata would teach the current president a lesson if he were here. During Iwata, we could see the boundaries pushed. Pokemon died with Black 2! The Pokemon management looks like a bunch of emo’s that just milk a cow that no longer makes any milk. They bring a shame to Nintendo for allowing this!!!! They make more money than GTA but their creativity and effort is below Zero!!!!!
Omg, if they asked 10$ it would already be a lot. I think for these old games 5-7$,- would be understandable! Who is this n charge of Konami?! These people must be from another universe LOL.
Just please no cheap Chibi graphics! Make a Pixels Art HD 2D remaster of the DS version! Those were some of the best Pokémon graphics ever along with Black 2! Black 2 should get the same treatment, with all the DLC championships, Elite 4’s and difficulty levels!!!!!! If Pokémon can’t make a good Pokémon games anymore, just at least do solid remasters of the games that you couldn’t mess up because Iwata was always saving their backs! Now when he’s gone, the quality just skyrocketed downwards!
The NSO is a corporate curse. We need to fight for game preservation and have the choice to buy the games we want. Even now there are many games for purchase and also on the NSO! For Switch 2 this should be a choice, not locking games behind a service!
@Truegamer79 finally someone! Zero was actually amazing mix of Assault and 64, since the ship morphing added on foot action on rails also reminiscing Sin and Punishment. Platinum games back then did a phenomenal job and people were just lazy to adapt to different controls. I played the whole game on gamepad since you can switch between the screens with a button press so the people saying it’s not possible to port have probably never played the game and just keep trolling. zero was amazing and I wish we got a port.
@Arix Assault did not have branching paths which made it far less replayable. Zero was a good mix of Assault and 64, and was made by Platinum! I would actually prefer Zero to Assault.
It’s ridiculous we still did not get Star Fox Zero!!!! I feel the complains about the two screens were just made by people who never played it since you could just press the minus button and swap the screen. I was playing it just in the Wii u gamepad no problem! Please port Zero!
@DaniPooo it’s not downgrade to you personally! But for someone who plays mainly handheld it is a visual downgrade no matter how much more powerful the new console will be. You buy LCD, but who is used to Oled logically doesn’t want to go back. Nintendo should stop with the hyenous practice of multiple mid gen releases because it’s spitting in the face to people who buy day 1 and won’t be able to afford an upgrade in 2-3 years! Nintendo should release two versions because many people are now aware of their console multi iterations and will hold off with their purchase until Nintendo releases what they want and that’s a loss for Nintendo on software sales.
Can we all agree that Oled is simply nicer for all of us players that play mainly in handheld?! Nintendo can do it if they want! But they want to rip us off by doing these multiple mid gen upgrades! That’s a total insult for loyal players who buy a co sole day 1, and then can’t afford to updgrade!!!!! The very least, release two console options at launch and let people choose! The ones playing mainly on TV can buy a regular LCD Switch 2, and us handheld players can buy the Oled! This is how it should be done!
We need to be able to also buy N64 games and the rest! If some games are possible for purchase and also Switch Online, why can’t Nintendo allow both for all games?!!!!
Most people don’t use the UI well. In the menu you can just press on any echoes you want to use-click on 1-20 echoes, and then in the game when you quick select “latest used”, you have them right there few clicks away! Why do people make it sound like it’s unplayable lol. People like to complain…
@1UP-HUSKY sorry if I didn’t formulate the reply correctly, I am not an angry gamer lol, and you also don’t need to take that so personally. I am more disappointed with some communities where people bash games and most of them haven’t later it:( I thanks for the reply anyway!
@Lizuka if you don’t like it don’t play it and don’t judge it! I loved the game and loved the controls. It felt like a breeze of fresh air having a game that tries to accomplish something different, plus the controls were super precise and having plain controls like N64 would degrade the experience! That’s like saying some people hate Horrors-should they stop making horror films because the audience disliking the genre is loud and the ones who like it don’t bother replying? No, Star Fox Zero is one of the most unique games, and I dare say the best on-rail shooter! Starlink was a piece of horse junk, and not every game needs to sell 10-20milions. Many games like Sin and Punishment 1-2, Star Fox, Pikmin, are very unique and look what’s on Nintendo eshop? Far worse titles! Garbage truck games, petting animal games, farming games, well there is so much content that is utter garbage, that these on-rail shooters are game of the year in comparison and part of history which gamers should defend!
@1UP-HUSKY maybe try learning the controls instead of complaining. There is a difference between bad controls and bad skills. If some players can achieve higher scores with original controls than modded version that is playable with regular controller, that says something. Lazy gamers kill games because they expect everything resolve around them instead of putting some effort it. I struggled for maybe 20min and then the game became a blast. Don’t forget that Platinum Games made it, and almost their every game is a polished treasure! If you don’t like it or can’t handle it, that’s fine, but don’t bash it if it’s not a game for you! Because it’s not a bad game and the controls are actually super precise with a ton of options if you learn it.
We still need a lot of Wii/Wii U and DS/3DS games!!!! Most importantly Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 2/3, but it would be a dream to have Star Fox Zero on Switch, Sin and Punishment 1+2 remaster, Metroid Samus Returns, Pokémon Gold/Black 2 2D HD, or Link to the Past/Super Metroid pixel remasters in HD 2D!
@moreDKplz exactly my thoughts! Everything looks generic and cheap! And the same cheap Analogues that are the key to gaming! Nintendo really killed my excitement for the new console!
BAD! Most importantly for 3 reasons! Most people had issue with drifting analogue sticks-and they have NOT changed- the same tiny cheap looking fragile little analogues. Second, the joycons connectors in the console itself look like it can break off easily-terrible design choice, and lastly the console looks extremely cheap-the buttons, the surface, and we don’t even know if it has Oled or not. I know it’s games that matter, but I was honestly quite disappointed. Considering how successful the Switch 1 was and how much money Nintendo made, I would expect more unique design that looks more like a next gen system, not a plain 3D printed generic plastic look. I hope this is the budget option, and really wish Nintendo will have one more that is meant for adult gamers.

@moreDKplz exactly my thoughts! Everything looks generic and cheap! And the same cheap Analogues that are the key to gaming! Nintendo really killed my excitement for the new console!
Re: Poll: So, What Did You Think Of The Switch 2 Reveal?

That was so boring! Who does marketing for Nintendo?!
