Weird list. Probably most people never played the earlier Need For Speed games. I am getting old... But the Need For Speed games between The Need For Speed (1994) and Need For Speed: Underground 2 (2004) where fantastic.
I would have voted for Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit (1998)
@LightSpirit I am still playing the game and plan to finish it before I come to my own conclusion. I do see some things that are worse than in Hollow Knight. I just finished Groal and that was really horrible gameplay
But now we are talking about two different things. You can rightfully don't like the game and don't agree with the choices that the developers made with this sequel. But that doesn't mean people here can demand a difficulty option. Not every game has to be for you.
@SalvorHardin Why do you ask if you already know the answer?
I think it should be the developers own decision to implement a difficulty option or not. And as a consumer you can choose to play the game or choose another game.
I am still playing the game. I am far into act 2 I think. Thus far I had some difficult bosses but most of the time I could explore more and discover new things that made the boss (a lot) easier. I am not feeling superior but I don't think I would enjoy the game as much if I can lower the difficulty at any point when there is a challenge to overcome.
Edit: Experience and challenge is an interesting thought. What I like most about these games is exploring. Always happy when a boss is finally defeated I can explore more. But I think the experience of exploring and discovering items and tools would have less meaning if there is less/no challenge.
I really looked forward to this game. Good that they are fixing a lot of the issues thus far. I'll wait for a few more updates and 50% off and then get the game.
@Samalik Never assume something obvious, Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic (a port of the iOS/Android version) didn't had touch screen support on release. (They did add it later though)
Personally I don't care that the game has no difficulty options. If this game has the same difficulty as Hollow Knight then I will be fine. Hollow Knight was a real challenge for me, but always fair and never frustrating. But the thing I like most about Hollow Knight and Silksong is exploring the world and find hidden places. It's unfortunate that less skilled players can't do that or get stuck because of a boss fight that is just too difficult.
I already have Kirby and The Forgotten Land physical. I do prefer everything on the cartridge but could also pre-order the Switch 2 Edition for 45 euro. Otherwise I might have done the upgrade path. Probably selling the Switch 1 version.
Almost 45 hours. Started with Grand Prix, then Knockout Tour. Played Free Roam in between. Unlocked Mirror Mode and now doing the Time Trials. Haven't played Online yet.
I am not going to buy the game this month. First I am going to finish Cuberpunk 2077 and Tears of the Kingdom. But with the Donkey Kong Bananza Direct last month I am looking forward to this game. I am still curious how the worlds compare to Super Mario Odyssey.
Bring it to Gamecube NSO. But that would be a first Sega game in a Nintendo NSO platform? Personally I would really like to see the Sonic Advance games added to GBA NSO.
I don't think the Switch 2's physical game cases are an improvement over the clear Switch 1 game cases. But I wouldn't do that much effort to change it. The Switch 2 cases are just fine
It's that the Switch 2 Editions like TOTK look awful. Too much information on the case/spine indicating it's a Switch 2 Edition. Cyberpunk 2077 looks cool.
@Simu001 Alien Isolation is not on the incompatibility list anymore, problem is solved.
I played Alien Isolation for a short time, seems to run fine. If it runs better I don't know. I don't remember there where performance issues on the Switch 1.
I don't know what to vote for yet. Also have to learn some new skills to better appreciate the courses. I do like Mario Kart World but for me Grand Prix is the worst part of the game. I started with Grand Prix and was confused about the wide and straight roads. But most of that is from driving from course to course.
I did some courses in VS mode and like the smaller courses like Shy Guy Bazaar and Toad's Factory. From what I have seen Great ? Block Ruins could become one of the favourites.
@harrystein "Rainbow Road is by far the worst. It's also the worst Rainbow Road in the series. It's way too long and boring."
Yes I don't understand why people like Rainbow Road. I do think the visuals and presentation are fantastic, but for me it is not fun to drive. It's too ambitious. I liked Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe more and even prefer the Rainbow Road from Super Mario Kart
I also have the Official Nintendo Switch Carrying Case for the Switch OLED. Which is fine for me. So I ordered the Official Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case as well. While it is not a hard case I noticed the Switch 2 Carrying Case gives a bit more protection. Yes, the plastic screen protector is not good. Looks expensive in the US, I ordered it from the My Nintendo Store for 25 euro.
@Protion9 Correct. It works like that with any Switch controller. When it hasn't been connected to a Switch console before it doesn't drain the battery. I still have a N64 NSO controller that isn't drained but also haven't used it yet.
It would be interesting to get a Switch controller back to factory settings so it is off. But it seems not possible after it has made a connection to a Switch.
@Zuljaras I would expect the physical Switch 2 games have the system version that is needed on the cartridge. If an update is needed you would probably don't get in the eShop anyway before updating the system.
This is stupid I would have bought the game on release when it came out in 2019 on the Switch if it was physical. Then I didn't buy it on sale in 2020. After that I waited more than 4 years to go on sale again and finally bought it for 9 euro last year.
I don't know. I still buy some Switch 1 games. Ordered Planet of Lana via Super Rare Games and ordered Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town on Amazon US. But we are almost starting the Nintendo Switch 2 generation and rather play a Switch 2 version of Hellblade when I would buy the game again. Not every physical release makes sense when you know there are better versions out there. Although there are still Switch 1 games I would like to have physical like Limbo and Inside.
@Not_Soos The Nintendo Switch hardware revision with improved battery life came more than two years later. September 2019. I am also not worried we see a Switch 2 revision in a year from now. At the time I upgraded to every new Switch model and I did like the better battery life. I expect the Switch 2 battery life to be on the short side. It seems to have the same battery hour numbers as the Switch 1 launch version. Probably upgrade when there is a revision, but maybe I can skip the first revision...
@8bitKirby Mario Kart World is both? It seems to have ton of single player content.
I do think Mario Kart is a great launch title. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is my most played game on Switch and a lot of those hours where also spent playing single player only (finishing all cups gold 3 stars and time trials). But I think another first party title like a 3D Mario title would have been nice. When I got the Nintendo Switch end of 2017 I bought it with MK8D and Mario Odyssey and that was a great combo. While I do play Mario Kart for years to come it is not a game I play long hours like Mario Odyssey.
@MrGawain I agree with the online connections. I am also not an online gamer. Graphical power is also better on other consoles of course. But for me we are at a point where the difference is not that much anymore.
@MrGawain Is this your view because you have multiple consoles at home? I am interested in games like GTA and it would be great if I don't have to buy an PS5 or Xbox Series X/S to play those games. And on the Switch (2) I can play these games docked and handheld as well. To me it would be the best platform to play any kind of games on.
Not something I would put next to the Switch 2. it looks a little... cheap. I am also not planning to buy two extra pairs of Joy-cons. On the current Switch I have an extra pair different color Joy-cons that I just switch from time to time. So both pair of Joy-cons have a charge if I would need them.
I don't like these negative posts. Xbox has their fans and more competition is always a good thing. Who cares if it doesn't sell the same amount of consoles as the Nintendo Switch 2? Just pick what you like. I visit NintendoLife because I obviously have interest in the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. The (news about) Switch 2 will do great doing it's own thing.
I use Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for years but not since the beginning. It's a good deal. I do prefer to play games on the Nintendo Switch. So if I like a game on Game Pass I will probably buy it for the Switch.
I already ordered the Switch 2. Also because I already am invested in the Nintendo Switch platform. I do think my gaming habits will change with the prices rising. I will wait longer for a good deal and/or buy less games. No problem. I can play games from my backlog and maybe it is also time to replay some of the older Switch games.
I don't think it is technically impossible to bring GTA6 to the Switch 2. But GTA5 on the Switch 1 should have been easy to do and we haven't seen that game on a Nintendo platform either.
I think this is a great feature for people who want to sell their Switch before getting their hands on the Switch 2.
But I am not getting rid of my Switch OLED. Still plan to use it after getting the Switch 2. Have to see how good Switch 1 games work on the Switch 2. Also with some games the Switch OLED will be good enough and maybe more interesting on the go because of the smaller size and better battery life.
Anyway I don't think I will do a system transfer this time. It would be great if the Play Activity Hours work on multiple Switch devices. And I have to figure out what is the best way to keep using 2 Switch devices. Thus far it was Primary and Secondary Console and now there also is Virtual Game Cards. I also read that the use of “Primary Console” has been deprecated with the transition to virtual game cards. So it still a bit confusing to me.
Mostly worried about the Play Activity Hours. Probably just should let that go.

Great news that I can buy this mobile game finally on mobile. Without touch controls I am not interested to play this game on Switch.

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@LightSpirit Why is it rightfully so?
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@LightSpirit I did say that: "And as a consumer you can choose to play the game or choose another game.".
There is no reason and there shouldn't also be a reason to force developers to make a game for everyone.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes

Re: Plants Vs. Zombies: Replanted Supports Local Co-Op And PvP Via GameShare
@Sylamp Good to know. Which eShop country page can I see this information? I don't see it mentioned on the Dutch eShop page.
I am definitely interested in the game if it has touch screen support. Mouse controls sounds great too.
Edit: Just watched the linked Youtube video, they mention touchscreen and mouse controls. Great.

Does this version support the touchscreen?
Re: The Touryst: Deluxe Hits Switch 2 Next Week At 4K / 60fps

Re: Feature: 32 Games We're Dying To See On Switch 2
I don't understand why we haven't seen Fallout and Mass Effect on Switch 1 already. Those would be a safe bet on Switch 2.
