@BookhouseBoy Do you close your games after playing or keep them running in the background? I only had one crash when playing KotOR on Switch. KotOR 2 I bought last year, still have to finish that one.

@fenlix Why is it funny? The argument that it is a day-1 game pass title doesn't make sense. It will be released on Nintendo Switch, Playstation, Xbox, Gamepass and PC at the same time.

That is fine. But you also use different or incorrect arguments that have nothing to do with the discussion. It makes it impossible to discuss if the Switch is a hybrid or not. But I also don't mind if you are not convinced. You can have your own weird definitions.

@sanderev I don't have a GameCube myself but I know about the accessories. The GameCube Game Boy Advance cable is a different product than the Game Boy Player.

You make it all seem very complex while it is rather easy to understand that the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid.

@sanderev Why is it not a hybrid if it functions as a console and handheld? Hybrid consoles combine elements of both home and handheld consoles.

Game Boy Player is not a Game Boy Advance, it is a different device that makes it possible to play GBA games on the GameCube. It does not connect the Game Boy Advance itself to a tv.

@sanderev I get your point. I just don't agree with your selfmade rules of what a console is. I don't know why you are using the Game Boy Advance as an example. It is known to be handheld only. But the PSP for example can connect to a tv with a cable that was sold separately. You could argue that the PSP doesn't deliver a great console experience but that doesn't change the fact that it can be used as a console. Not that I recommend it.

But the Nintendo Switch is sold with a HDMI cable in the box and has a controller (Joy-cons) that can be used wirelessly. It has the same accessories in the box as a Playstation or Xbox to connect to a tv. It has the same user experience (less power doesn't matter and isn't a rule). The Switch is being sold as a device that can be used as a console and as an handheld out of the box.

It just doesn't make sense what you are saying. Adding functionality like a screen and battery doesn't remove functionality like being a console. Naming it differently like a handheld with a TV out doesn't matter that much.

@sanderev The Steam Deck is all those things because indeed you can use it that way.

I don't understand why you think everything that is less powerful like a PS3 or Xbox 360 isn't a console anymore. Function doesn't change over time.

@sanderev Why did you decide it has to be different and why is a higher profile not enough of a difference? Your reasoning seems vague. Why can't a laptop plugged into a USB-C dock not be a desktop PC? It fits fine on a desk and you can plug in a screen, keyboard and mouse.

The same goes for the Nintendo Switch. Connecting it to the tv via HDMI and using a wireless controller works exactly the same as a Playstation and Xbox. And power doesn't matter. It's not like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are no consoles because they are less powerful.

@Anti-Matter Totally fine to support what you love. Just focus your energy on Nintendo and Playstation. What do you gain by talking zero interest and hate about the Xbox platform? I just don't understand why you care so much about the Xbox platform.

@Rodolfo6493 I think Microsoft totally forgot they released a Switch version. With the upcoming release Hellblade 2 there already are steep discounts on the first game for the Xbox and PC version. So I don't see it happening.
I am in the same boat. At the time I hoped for a physical Switch release. Skipped the first two sales and now the game hasn't seen a sale for years... Unfortunate because it is a good port and would buy it for 50% off.

@Anti-Matter You seem to care a lot. Why else you would you write such a long post? But not everything is about kids games. I think it's great we have multiple platforms to choose from. No need for fanboyism.

I love it, but it was also my first F-Zero game which I bought on launch day together with Rayman Advance and Konami Krazy Racers.

I wouldn't be happy to give up physical games. But probably give up physical Nintendo games If I have to install them first before I can play. If plug and play and complete on cartridge disappears then I can just buy digital as well.

@NatiaAdamo Sonic Mania was limited in the sense that it stayed true to the originals. It would have been interesting to see more new zones by the same team. I think there are enough options to create something that is not more of the same. At least the Sonic Mania team understand what makes a good 2D Sonic game.

Probably buy Sonic Superstar someday as I like the Sonic 2D platformers. But had just bought Sonic Origins Plus in the summer of 2023 which had a lot of content to play through. And to me it is not clear why Sonic Superstars had a higher asking price than Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Origins Plus.

I don't think a Mario game that released in the same time frame had something to do with it.

Why would no achievements be a con. It's a plus for me. It's also not a standard on Switch. So it is not a feature that should have been in the game.

@Botty1973 Because it runs fine on the Nintendo Switch, no need to make it exclusive when you can sell many more on the current system. Doesn't make sense.

I would be interested in Game Pass Cloud gaming on the Nintendo Switch. Although it would be more interesting if they port games like Halo to the Nintendo Switch.
It is a good idea to bring Game Pass to every screen. But I don't see the benefit for Nintendo. I don't expect it anytime soon.

Weird. The PS5 version gets The Darkside Detective 1 and 2 as a single product and is cheaper than The Darkside Detective: A Fumble In The Dark physical release for the Switch.
I do understand that The Darkside Detective 1 already had a physical release from Super Rare Games. I didn't get the first one so I won't get A Fumble In The Dark either.

Let me know when RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is coming to Switch. Would be an instant buy. Not interested in Adventures and a Deluxe edition doesn't change that.

I played and finished the game on Xbox Game Pass this weekend. For me it is one of the best games this year. Fun puzzles and great art style. But just like Limbo and Inside on the short side.
Digitally I would wait for a sale. But if they had released it physically I would have bought it immediately for the Nintendo Switch. Hope there will be a physical release in the future.

@Piyo I was replying to a theoretical idea that the wave 6 dlc is on the cartridge before the release date.

@TheBlayman Then you would still need an internet connection to check fit you are allowed to play wave 6 from the cartridge?

@Captain-N They didn't reach the space capacity of the Switch cart. It's just very difficult to put content on a cartridge that isn't out yet. I would have preferred if Nintendo released this DLC physical release after wave 6 is released. But can also understand Nintendo wants to target the holiday sales.

@samuelvictor I was disappointed too And later watched the Japanese Direct. I don't know if I will import the Japanese version. In theory there could be a cartridge revision of the Japanese version when there is a reprint which could have all the updates on the cartridge. It would be much more interesting if all the 6 waves are on the cartridge.

@samuelvictor This is just a digital edition with extra's. In Japan there will be a physical edition of MK8D + Booster Course Pass. But it will only have the first 5 waves on the cartridge.

I think I also will get both, but not this October. I have a lot of fun with Sonic Mania Plus and Origins Plus. So I expect Sonic Superstars will at least be another fine Sonic game. But just got Origins Plus this summer so I will wait for a price drop.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder I will probably get next year, not in a hurry. But will definitely be added to my collection.

@Dr_Lugae Where can I find these load of other bugs? I found and tested that the game crashes when playing with Tails in Labyrinth Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 1.

The Game Gear games look a bit sharper now, but maybe it is just the scaling that is corrected.
Turning on Anti-Aliasing for Game Gear makes it too blurry for me, prefer Anti-Aliasing off.
Also nice that you can toggle Game Gear sound to Mono.

I better wait for Sonic Superstars Plus next year.

Game looks fun. But I don’t see me paying 70 dollars for the Deluxe Edition which is digital only. And missing on extras in the standard edition is a good reason for me to wait/skip buying the game.

But I expect it is the same game and that you can play the physical version with the already claimed digital deluxe edition content.

Let's just wait for the reviews first? 360 era games are fine. If they would do a lazy port like this for Mass Effect I would be really happy.

But I would be interested in a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe cartridge that has all the content. Same with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

@Grumblevolcano Why would there be a 2nd Booster Course Pass? I would like more Mario Kart: Double Dash!! tracks. But overall 96 tracks more than enough.
