Ren & Stimpy Are Getting A 7-Game Retro Collection, Courtesy Of Limited Run

I'm guessing the two games that are missing were published by a different company than the rest back in the day? It's a shame they aren't part of this collection, but at least we know why none of these games were included with the Nickelodeon Splat Pack now.

...why? From what I heard most of these games aren't very good and the one that is ain't even included.

As someone who never watched Ren & Stimpy*, I have no nostalgia for any of these games. Big maybe if I ever give them a chance, unlike the games from the other Nick collection.

*as far as I can remember, Ren & Stimpy never aired on Nickelodeon here in Latin America. Instead it aired on MTV, a channel I had little to no interest back then other than short glimpses of Beavis & Butthead.

I read WB turned down a proposal to re-release the Tiny Toons games. This is sad as I really want to Tiny Toons and Looney Tunes retro games compilation.

Aren't these games terrible? I remember getting my mom to rent one of the SNES ones when I was a kid and feeling ripped off just renting it.

1: why not the those two SNES games?

2: where are the Genesis games/versions?

3: all these old games coming back!

@Don the Tiny Toons games are fantastic. I played Buster Busts Loose for SNES first then went to the NES two and to my surprise I found the NES ones better games (no slight on BBL, it's still great). I still play them to this day

I'm insulted that Josh segregated these from the Splat Pack because he thinks Rocko, Aaahh, and Guts are an equal draw to just Ren & Stimpy, but I can't argue that he's wrong in that assessment.

I hate when proclaimed collections don’t contain everything. I usually refuse to buy them when they’re missing titles.

Like the Grandia collection having only two games out of 5 (excluding defunct mmo). Thats my favorite series, and yet I refuse to buy it because its missing more than half the games.

Sad to see none of the Sega games made the cut.

This will be an easy pass for me as well, but I do commend the effort of game preservation. That's still a thing people want, right?

Pretty cool. I was a big fan of Ren & Stimpy back in the day. Too bad the collection is incomplete. So it's a pass for me. I'll enjoy the games otherwise.

My sis still calls me a “veediot” to this day, probably with justification, because I’ll most likely get the standard edition of this compromised collection just because it’s Ren Hoëk and Stimpson J. Cat.

Here here! The Tiny Toons games were a blast. I used to love smooshing the characters into things whilst running. Can't remember the specific TT game, but it was good fun. Even the GameBoy games were great. Would love to see a collection of ALL of them. Darn copyrights and trademarks and all that stuff.

About the Tiniy Toons collection, I'm guessing the big obstacle right now for a collection would be the whole Warner Bros. buyout debacle.

I want to believe that a collection of at least the Konami games will happen once that has been settled. I'd like to have Buster's Bust Loose, Buster's Hidden Treasure and Bab's Big Break on my Switch.

@foursider Sounds like the SNES one, that was all about speed. The NES games were basically Super Mario Bros. 3 in how they played and felt, in fact so ridiculously close you have to wonder whether there was some naughty business there. I did play the Game Boy one, but haven't touched since it's release, so I don't remember too much about it other than how the game pak looked and enjoying it.

Might get this but it's hugely disappointing that it's incomplete

I’m a big fan of Ren and Stimpy so I have to have this really because I love the box art to look at and I had time warp and veediots as a kid and they weren’t in my greatest games of all time but I did enjoy them somewhat, tho they are very cheap and overly difficult. This having the rewind feature tho will allow me to actually see what comes after stage 4 on veediots and maybe collect all the box tops in time warp. Like others have said Stimpys invention is sorely missing. I remember renting it and really liking it but if enough people make a fuss on X about it who knows maybe it’ll get some traction and make it on here like the genesis is Jurassic park game did on that collection after the announcement. Quest of the Shaven Yak I had and I’d love to have it as well. All and all tho I do like this collection better than the Splat one.

@MisterStu I doubt it... or at least I hope not. I think Viacom own the IP, whilst THQNordic have the rights for distribution of the games in this collection. I doubt anyone involved in the original games will benefit from sales either.

Half-joking aside, I want this as it feeds into my 90's childhood, but really wish it wasn't from LRG. The last thing I want to do is encourage their ***** practices of overloading themselves and blowing waaaaaaay past deadlines without communication.

Eh, I don't know about these ones. I remember watching the Angry Video Game Nerd review Fire Dogs, and he didn't have many good things to say about it. Granted, I know his schtick is to dump on games (both figuratively and literally, even if the game is good), but the things he complained about with Fire Dogs are things that I have complained about with other games. I might just end up skipping this LRG release.
