Re: Bullet-Hell Shmup Refused Classification In The West Over 'Expression Restrictions'

Truegamer79

I never understood why Japan is so relaxed on this stuff but in America it's all (Won't somebody think of the children!) Any instance of nudity or partial nudity, overly exaggerated fun bags etc is immediately looked down upon. Why are people so ashamed and embarrassed about the human anatomy?

Like when men walk down the street shirtless who appear to have breasts because they are so out of shape and that's just fine. An actual woman does it and....you cover those up this instant young lady!

Confuses the heck outta me. 😕

Now how did stellar blade pass just fine? Not to mention all the crazy exaggerated female designs in the street fighter series?

Re: Rumour: Mortal Kombat 1 Future DLC Supposedly Cancelled

Truegamer79

It was way overpriced for one thing. Game already cost 70 dollars and they wanna pile more on top of that for 40 or 50 dollars? Yeah screw DLC! I sure miss fighters with unlockable characters instead of spoon feeding us overpriced microtransactions.

Honestly these type of games get old after the first couple weeks of playing anyway. I love fighting games don't get me wrong but they never hold my attention much past the that. Same with racers.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Mario & Luigi: Brothership?

Truegamer79

Yep! IGN Isn't gonna sway me. They've crapped all over several of my favorite games. Double Dragon neon for example. They said beat em ups were a dead genre. The guy who reviewed it was known to dislike the genre in the first place so why he was assigned the review was beyond me. When every new call of duty comes out it's a guaranteed 8.5 outta 10.

Yeah real trustworthy reviewing there. 😉

Re: An Alien: Isolation Sequel Is Officially In Development

Truegamer79

That's funny. I was just watching Aliens on Disney plus! "They mostly come out at night, mostly."

Still need to finish the first one. I got a couple hours in and got sidetracked playing other stuff. Still what i played was genuinely terrifying. When the Alien is stalking you and you're desperately looking for a place to hide it's heart pounding!

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

Truegamer79

I bet Links awakening on Gameboy had framerate stutters too but i don't recall anyone on the playgrounds at school going, oh that gameboy game is unplayable!

I guess old farts like me don't see games the way the younger generations do. I was just amazed i was playing a videogame in the first place. It was magical when it barely began. Now it's all about the framerate and terraflops. Whatever those are. 😕

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

Truegamer79

I don't think I've ever been bothered enough by framerate in a videogame to write a whole article about it in my entire life. Yeah in Mega man 3 it was kinda annoying during bosses but in Gradius 3 it actually helped.

Other than that no game in my 40+ years of gaming made me say oh God it's unplayable and then proceed to throw my controller across the room in a fit of unbridled rage.
Maybe it's just my age. I started on Atari 2600 after all. We were used to it.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening

Truegamer79

If it's really that severe a problem it'll get patched out anyway. Links awakening on switch still stutters a little but if Nintendo thought it was ruining that many people's experience it would have been patched by now. Try being around before patching existed. A game released the way it was and that's the way it stayed. We had to just deal with it.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening

Truegamer79

Oh God here we go again! The Framerate monsters are coming! Run for your lives!
I miss when reviewers talked about everything but the Framerate. You know the story, the characters etc.

I'm here to game people! Not worry about stuff that really isn't going to matter to someone like me who played Mega man 3 on the original Nes choppines and all. Heck Gradius 3 was better because of the framerate drops.

You kids and your tech geekery nonsense. Just play the damn game! 🤦‍♂️

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom (Switch) - A Bold Blend Of Old & New That Ranks With The Series' Best

Truegamer79

As expected another great game by Nintendo! I noticed it seems to be getting review bombed at least on YouTube. I guess some people are threatened by the idea of playing as zelda. Oh and what's this fascination reviewers have with framerate? I swear that's such a huge concern all the time and especially in a more slow paced game i don't get it. I don't recall one kid on the playground in the 90s back when Link to the past came out asking about the framerate.

Hell when Ocarina of time came out all the reviews talked about was the graphics, music, story, the fact that it was the first ever fully 3D zelda. No mention whatsoever of framerate.

It's like you guys are going... if the framerate isn't at 100 FPS I'm not buying it! I demand perfection!

In my day we played games if they looked fun, had nice graphics but we weren't whores about it and if it was part of a series we already loved.

Anyway Links awakening on switch got crap about framerate too and you barely notice unless you're really looking for it. I'm sure the same is true here. Just try to have fun and don't sweat the small stuff.

Re: Echoes Of Wisdom Originally Starred Link, Until His Sword & Shield "Got In The Way"

Truegamer79

This is why i love Nintendo. They're always thinking of new and exciting ways to expand their existing franchises and make them fresh. Plus they are sticklers for making sure a game is as good as possible before releasing it. Those other companies just crap out the same stuff with slight changes and almost no Innovation. Occasionally they surprise you but not often.

Nintendo is still the king in my opinion. Nomatter what the naysayers say they're keeping gaming fun and entertaining!

Re: Review: Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (Switch) - A Lick Of Paint Works Wonders

Truegamer79

Definitely considering getting this. I remember the original game had nice looks and music but they really messed up the camera. Even for the time it released it felt behind the times. It was like playing an N64 game from the early 3D Era. Glad they seemed to have addressed the issue and it's actually not nauseating this time. I was thinking more like not so epic Mickey.

Now i wonder if we'll get a remaster of the sequel but i doubt it.

Re: Review: The Karate Kid: Street Rumble (Switch) - A Great-Looking, Offline-Only, Co-op Brawler

Truegamer79

So we're complaining about no online co op and sound effects? Sounds like you're missing the whole point of the game. It's retro inspired and based on a franchise older than most people who visit this site. I'm guessing it's mostly targeting an older audience who grew up with Karate kid or old school beat em ups. I'm fine with that.

You want online co op go play call of duty or something. It's just not the same playing a beat em up with someone you literally can't even see or that you've never met.

Game looks good enough for my tastes so adding it to my wish list!

Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch

Truegamer79

@MrPeanutbutterz
Yes but nobody expected the SH bomb to be in a kids movie about cars that turn into robots LOL! Many audible gasps were heard. People grabbed their kids and started walking out.

Luckily my mom was cool with it. She really didn't care what i watched or what games i played unless there were boobs or other such naughty parts on display. Plus nobody cared about 8 and 16 bit boobs.

If the SH bomb didn't get People walking out the brutal murder of nearly every autobot 10 minutes into the movie sure did. I heard many angry letters from parents were written.
