People gave this game crap for being a collectathon but those type of games were my Jam! It's just like Banjo and Mario 64 before that so why the hate? Everybody loves those.
I never hear that complaint about Mario odyssey and that was one heck of a huge collectathon!
That was pretty sad. Poor guy had a bile duct infection and they tried saving him but it just wasn't enough. He contributed to many of my favorite games. 😔
It'll never top the original just based on the missing songs. I'll probably still get it for switch on a deep sale but glad i still got my original copy.
I never understood why Japan is so relaxed on this stuff but in America it's all (Won't somebody think of the children!) Any instance of nudity or partial nudity, overly exaggerated fun bags etc is immediately looked down upon. Why are people so ashamed and embarrassed about the human anatomy?
Like when men walk down the street shirtless who appear to have breasts because they are so out of shape and that's just fine. An actual woman does it and....you cover those up this instant young lady!
Confuses the heck outta me. 😕
Now how did stellar blade pass just fine? Not to mention all the crazy exaggerated female designs in the street fighter series?
It was way overpriced for one thing. Game already cost 70 dollars and they wanna pile more on top of that for 40 or 50 dollars? Yeah screw DLC! I sure miss fighters with unlockable characters instead of spoon feeding us overpriced microtransactions.
Honestly these type of games get old after the first couple weeks of playing anyway. I love fighting games don't get me wrong but they never hold my attention much past the that. Same with racers.
Just to see it in glorious HD yes i will. Maybe not right away though. Now how bout a new DK game? Not some remake of an old ass game but all new. Nintendos main monkey has been outta work for far too long.
Definitely cool that they added Bela legosi but it looks kinda generic. Sounds like it's better than most castlevania likes. How does it compare to the two curse of the moon games?
Not too worried about the switch version not being as updated as the others. I did just fine playing them the way they were since launch so if i could overlook issues then i don't need improvements now.
Besides the switch can't do 4K so duh they wouldn't add that feature anyway.
Not too worried about the stealth being practically nonexistent. I suck at it in the real games anyway. I'm not a patient gamer. Sounds like a better fit for this cutesy lego version of horizon as kids have little patience too.
Yep! IGN Isn't gonna sway me. They've crapped all over several of my favorite games. Double Dragon neon for example. They said beat em ups were a dead genre. The guy who reviewed it was known to dislike the genre in the first place so why he was assigned the review was beyond me. When every new call of duty comes out it's a guaranteed 8.5 outta 10.
@Bigmanfan Well I'm playing through shadow generations now. It's about as good as the first i suppose. I recently picked up Frontiers on a sale but so far it's not exactly holding my attention. People talk like it's finally 3D sonic done right but i don't think it's quite there.
Let's face it. Sonic hasn't been good since he went 3D and Shadow Generations doesn't feel all that much different than every other 3D Sonic. Yeah maybe in the last decade or so there's been a small handful of decent games. Colors, Generations, and the ones that mimic the early years. That's about it.
Even Frontiers isn't quite right. Some really didn't care for it at all.
Figured this would happen eventually. Now i really need to get back to this series. I've played all the games but never finished them. It's time i put aside other stuff and got these checked off my backlog!
@MrGam3andBu1ld Well anything better than the condition it was in on Wii should be good enough i think. I swear i though I was playing an early N64 game. Camera was a nightmare.
We need a compilation of at least the first 6 games for NA. I'd like to play the whole series in order but it's confusing the way some are localized and others weren't plus doesn't 4, 5 and 6 have multiple versions or something?
I don't know which versions are Canon and which are more like spinoffs. It's more confusing than the early days of Final fantasy.
Always liked Tooie better than Kazooie. That grunty fight at the end is brutal though. Still trying to talk myself into playing nuts N bolts on my Xbox but haven't quite mustered up the courage to try it yet.
I am so behind on the latest Mario RPG type games. Never finished Mario and luigi bowsers inside story, Dream team, paper Jam or even the 2nd mario rabbids game. Think i better start working on those.
Somehow every Nintendo game in recent memory that's supposedly needed a patch because of a progress impending glitch has slipped right over my head. Had no problem finishing Metroid other M and Skyward sword too and both at launch had this issue that got later patched.
@LavenderShroud I'm still on the fence about that one. Never bought it because of all the bad reports. Would you say it's mostly in acceptable condition now?
Is this the most patched videogame in history or what? The state of this when it launched must have been awfully bad. At least the developers care enough to fix it this many years after release. Now that's dedication!
That's funny. I was just watching Aliens on Disney plus! "They mostly come out at night, mostly."
Still need to finish the first one. I got a couple hours in and got sidetracked playing other stuff. Still what i played was genuinely terrifying. When the Alien is stalking you and you're desperately looking for a place to hide it's heart pounding!
@Yalloo I have and yes I'll admit it does noticeably slow down a bit while driving around in the batmobile. It's a small miracle that it runs on switch at all. Good thing i have the PS4 version anyway. 😝
I bet Links awakening on Gameboy had framerate stutters too but i don't recall anyone on the playgrounds at school going, oh that gameboy game is unplayable!
I guess old farts like me don't see games the way the younger generations do. I was just amazed i was playing a videogame in the first place. It was magical when it barely began. Now it's all about the framerate and terraflops. Whatever those are. 😕
I don't think I've ever been bothered enough by framerate in a videogame to write a whole article about it in my entire life. Yeah in Mega man 3 it was kinda annoying during bosses but in Gradius 3 it actually helped.
Other than that no game in my 40+ years of gaming made me say oh God it's unplayable and then proceed to throw my controller across the room in a fit of unbridled rage.
Maybe it's just my age. I started on Atari 2600 after all. We were used to it.
You heard it here folks! If digital foundry has a problem with it, you should too. All hail the framerate sages! May all our Games run at 60 FPS or bust! 😉
If it's really that severe a problem it'll get patched out anyway. Links awakening on switch still stutters a little but if Nintendo thought it was ruining that many people's experience it would have been patched by now. Try being around before patching existed. A game released the way it was and that's the way it stayed. We had to just deal with it.
Oh God here we go again! The Framerate monsters are coming! Run for your lives! I miss when reviewers talked about everything but the Framerate. You know the story, the characters etc.
I'm here to game people! Not worry about stuff that really isn't going to matter to someone like me who played Mega man 3 on the original Nes choppines and all. Heck Gradius 3 was better because of the framerate drops.
You kids and your tech geekery nonsense. Just play the damn game! 🤦♂️
Must be an age thing. If you're old enough to remember enjoying games when they were simpler and framerate wasn't such an obsession it doesn't bother you. If you grew up in the later generations you're all Graphics this and Framerate that. 😉
Yes exactly! I'm sure some tech geek will message me back and give me a big rant about how framerate matters but honestly I've been gaming since it's inception and i never gave one dang diddly about it. Sure if the choppyness is so bad the game isn't playable I'll complain but otherwise who cares? Not me.
As expected another great game by Nintendo! I noticed it seems to be getting review bombed at least on YouTube. I guess some people are threatened by the idea of playing as zelda. Oh and what's this fascination reviewers have with framerate? I swear that's such a huge concern all the time and especially in a more slow paced game i don't get it. I don't recall one kid on the playground in the 90s back when Link to the past came out asking about the framerate.
Hell when Ocarina of time came out all the reviews talked about was the graphics, music, story, the fact that it was the first ever fully 3D zelda. No mention whatsoever of framerate.
It's like you guys are going... if the framerate isn't at 100 FPS I'm not buying it! I demand perfection!
In my day we played games if they looked fun, had nice graphics but we weren't whores about it and if it was part of a series we already loved.
Anyway Links awakening on switch got crap about framerate too and you barely notice unless you're really looking for it. I'm sure the same is true here. Just try to have fun and don't sweat the small stuff.
Nope not yet. Shredder isn't even playable in it aside from a randomized appearance where he's playable in an earlier DLC. The game is probably better than Turtles in time but yeah Mondo Gecko was a nice addition! I barely remember Mona lisa.

Game looks good enough for my tastes so adding it to my wish list!
What i wanna know is why can't you find the game on Amazon yet? I even checked Nintendos official site and it's sold out. Mind if i ask where people are going to preorder it?
