I only recently figured out that the very few widescreen capable GameCube games were not actually true widescreen. I was playing star fox adventures and noticed despite being set to widescreen in settings it still didn't look right on my modern TV. Things that were supposed to be round on the Hud were oval. All this time I've been doing it wrong. No more widescreen gamecube for me unless it's true accurate widescreen with no stretching.

Yes there's no excuse for these cloud versions anymore. Switch 2 can now surely handle RE 7 and 8. Might as well tell square Enix to get actual ports of the kingdom hearts games on switch 2 also. Down with the cloud! Down with the cloud!

Yep got mine! It was a close call though. I was trying to preorder right at midnight on the Walmart site and right after dropping it in my cart it says out of stock. I was like you gotta be kidding me WTF?! Then i checked Best buy. It tells me I'm in line but nothing happened for 20 minutes. I was just about to give up then suddenly ping! I got the notification that my verification code was sent. Dropped my preorder in the cart, checked out and then bam payment confirmed!

I haven't bought a Nintendo system at launch since the GameCube! Now i play the waiting game. 🙁

I remember on Wii they'd add maybe 3 to 5 games once a week. Switch Online sits there for several months without any updates. It's really pathetic and you can't even buy them. Switch was damn popular I'll give it that but their retro offerings sucked by comparison.

Yeah and it only took the switchs entire lifespan! The Wii VC had a slow drip of VC games back in the day too but nothing like this. It probably had more retro games in half the time though and a far larger selection.

God i miss VC! Those were the days. You could actually buy and keep your downloaded games. I still got mine and they still work fine. I downloaded about 300 titles on my Wiis SD
card in fact and yep i actually paid for them because i had that option.

I remember when switch 1 came out everyone loved that distinctive click when you'd attach the joycons. It's almost as iconic as the gamecube startup sounds. Speaking of which my phone has the one with the spring boing and kids giggling sound for my notification. I just love that one! It's so Nintendo!

No but people value them higher because they are Nintendo so the Ebay sellers jack up the price.

Can't wait for the flood of naysayers when and if a new smash bros is announced. I expect another 80 dollar price tag.

I noticed Double Dash still goes for like 50 to 100 dollars on Ebay and that game is over 20 years old so yeah Nintendo has never been one to have low prices on their first party games. Just because it's Nintendo doesn't mean their games automatically have to be cheaper.

I guess Maybe after this people will really be able to make an educated decision whether they think the game is worth the price. High profile first party Sony games are often just as much so why do Nintendo fans expect any less?

I guess everyone still likes to throw around that Nintendo is for babies and their games should be cheaper nonsense right? How dare they charge 80 bucks for games geared towards 12 year olds! 😉

This looks like an awesome revival! Can't wait! Since it's the year of the ninja i should really finish cyber shadow and while I'm at it I'm giving the messenger another playthrough.

I doubt I'll ever use mouse mode. If i wanted to game with a mouse I'd stick to PC gaming. I've always been a console guy. All i ever played on PC were emulators for old systems like Nes and Snes or word muncher on those antique pea soup green screen computers.

For some reason a dedicated game console was just way more appealing to me and cooler.

I've heard these were good back when they were on PS1 but never tried them. Guess I'll add them to the list.

Look at how many times Sony remasters games like last of us and re releases, re packages, re brands, re distributes, remakes, re imagines and re engineers for your re consumption and charges full price every time.

You know something funny? To this day I've still never fully completed either game. I got all shrines, side quests and main story quests in botw but didn't find every korok but TOTK i spent maybe 20 hours on and got side tracked playing other stuff. The games are just way too big and i guess i got overwhelmed.

Anyone miss the traditional 8 dungeons and point A to B gameplay then you're done of past Zeldas? I sorta do. I mean these two games are phenomenal but damn will they suck your life away if you let em.

As long as we're talking about greedy companies charging insane prices how about Sony charging 100 dollars for last of us complete? I guess just because it's more realistic graphics it's totally worth it. 😉

Streets of rage! Freakin sweet! Anyone else feel like it's still the best one? SOR 2 gets all the praise but honestly the first has a way better soundtrack and i like the special attack where the cop car pulls up and bombs the place. Awesome game! Proves the genesis still could pull off some impressive music despite it's lower sound quality compared to Snes.

Yeah something about blu ray technology being new drove up the price. I didn't get mine until several years later. In 2006 and beyond i was just rocking my Wii and honestly i was perfectly happy. Wii had some bangers!

LOL yeah then a couple months later it'll be marked down to 45 or something. I noticed that with Assassins creed. They start out 70 or 80 then it drops like a rock after the new wears off.

I bought a PS5 two years ago and it still cost me 600 dollars. PS3 launched at that price and there didn't seem to be too many people freaking out. Heck i Remember buying old ass gameboy games that cost 40 at least and Snes games were on average 50 or more.

I don't get why people are freaking out over 80 dollar games on switch 2 when most high end big budget Sony and Xbox games these days are about as much or more when they add in the microtransactions and paid DLC.

Better get used to it. The cost of this stuff is only gonna go up and up. If you're still gaming when you're an 80 year old geezer be prepared for 200 for games and 800 dollars for systems.

Wow one of my all time favorite systems ever (Snes) had a pretty lousy launch. Super Mario world was obviously great but only about 5 games? That sure turned around!

Also noticed Wii U probably Nintendo most hated had a launch that honestly wasn't anything to scoff at. Too bad the momentum dropped like a rock soon after.

Yeah and Nes barely had anything to stand on but Super Mario bros. Must have been one hell of a popular game. That and it was packed in.

Loved GameCube! Stayed up all night launch and played luigis mansion and Rogue squadron!

I never gave a damn about achievements. As a kid i would come up with my own like Beating a game on hard mode or doing something to unlock things if the reward was worthwhile. Nintendo doesn't have to do the same stuff Sony and Microsoft does. They do their own thing and that's why i still love their games and systems.

I'm no expert on the subject but does this mean the Price in North America will go up or what?

You only get these upgrades if you own the physical copies on switch correct? My Botw is digital but I've been meaning to buy it physical.

Whenever they have these big game reveals like the last couple Nintendo directs i like to replay games from whatever series they showed off. So yeah been playing Metroid Prime again, Mario kart and DK 64.

Well it is much closer to his old school roots and i quite like it! This game looks fantastic honestly. I'm wondering if we might be playing as any other kongs or just DK?

Definitely! Dk just looks more silly and goofy. Fits better with Nintendo if you ask me.

It's not a new design. They are going back to his pre DKC look. That design wasn't a brand new movie based style. It's the way he looked in the first place.

If brand new PS5 games are typically about that much and you consider dlc added later then yeah might as well get used to it Nintendo players. We are in the big leagues now. You want hot graphics with actually noteworthy specs this time around you're gonna pay for it.

Gaming is expensive. Get N or get out.

Good thing i get three paychecks in May. If i start saving now i can buy a switch 2 by June no problem. Sucks for those with several ankle biters to feed and provide for. Not me though. I got enough stress as it is.

Well that's it then. I'm calling it Super Nintendo switch from now on! I was there when Snes was New and man was it awesome seeing it for the first time, seeing the commercials. The first game i played wasn't super Mario world oddly It was actually ultra man. A friend had a Snes before i got one and that's the game he rented from blockbuster video.

If only i could go back just for a day! Good times!

Here i sit with Intergrade on my PS5 that I've barely touched. Anyone else feel like they just can't muster the available time to play all these games? Being an over 40 year old gamer kinda sucks. It's fun when you can get the time.

Hope i live to be 90 so i can finish them all.

Decent i guess. New DK so yay for that! Gamecube on switch is cool for those who never experienced it but locked behind subscription sucks. Oh well every noteworthy game i already bought and still play on my original Gamecube.

Looks like Nintendo will finally have a system third-party developers won't be snickering at. Bring on last gens hottest ports!

If it's a question of when not if then why hasn't it happened already? You telling me the regular switch couldn't handle GameCube? Besides that if it's just gonna be another BS games locked behind an online subscription with no option to buy don't bother.

I want the VC back dammit! I mean come on the Wii and Wii U let me own the games without forcing a subscription and they still work. Nintendo trying to be Netflix...😡 Yeah whatever.

They better have Prime 2 and 3 remastered and available before Prime 4 releases. I'm still puzzled why only the original game was remastered when they could have just made it a trilogy and put them all in a compilation. I mean jumping right in with Prime 4 might be just fine but really who'd want to? Isn't all the excitement coming from fans of the original Trilogy?

Probably should mark this as rumor until it's official. If Nintendo can get Halo and the new Indiana jones is coming to PS5 is there even any point to owning an xbox anymore? I wouldn't be too upset if they stopped making consoles honestly. As for exclusives what else have they got right?
