Re: The Last Ninja Collection Brings Seven Retro Games To Switch In 2025

Truegamer79

Well I'll be a ninjas uncle! Definitely enjoyed my experience with the last Ninja games way back when they were released on Wii VC! Well the first two original Commodore 64 games were. There was a fiasco with the third one where it was released with some severe bug that made it impossible to finish so it was removed from the Wii shop. Then people were issued refunds.

I remember it only released on the European Wii shop but never made it to the states. After the refunds for the botched download had to be sent out Nintendo basically gave up on putting Commodore 64 games on Wii.

Anyway that was then and this is now. This is definitely a collection I'll be getting as i did enjoy my time playing the first two on wii. I did play last Ninja 3 on an emulator once and man that intro! I never owned a Commodore 64 back when they were still popular and the Wii VC was my first real experience with the games.

Re: Capcom Outlines Changes To Each Game In 'Fighting Collection 2'

Truegamer79

Speaking of fighting compilations when are they gonna do mortal kombat? There hasn't been one outside of the arcade collection that came out on PSN forever ago and that only includes the first 3 games. It's about time a compilation of more than the classic trilogy existed. Most of the other mainline games are pretty good too.

Re: Review: Castlevania Dominus Collection (Switch) - The Strongest Konami Compilation Yet

Truegamer79

Awesome shadow drop of three fantastic castlevania games! Still have my originals on DS! Kinda a bummer you can't watch the animated intros without the titles blocking the picture. I also wish a screen option existed to have the game fully fill the screen and the stats and map viewable separately with a button press.

Still wish somehow Rondo and symphony of the night could come to switch buy I'll take what we got. Not like i can't just fire up my Wii or original copy to play those. Symphony even plays fine on Wii with a modded system. 😉

Re: 'Castlevania Dominus Collection' Brings Three DS Classics To Switch Today

Truegamer79

Definitely happy to have these underrated classics on switch and finally Playable on the big screen! Still confused why we couldn't get symphony of the night or Rondo on switch. I mean Nintendo got left out on the original release of rondo due to the snes limitations but we've had more than capable systems since then and still nothing?

Also would it kill Konami to make a new legit Castlevania game? Spiritual successors are nice but i miss actual Castlevania games.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Not Ready To Announce The "Switch Successor"

Truegamer79

@IceClimbersMain

At this point I'm starting to feel like i only find interest in Games related to a pre existing franchise like mario, zelda, Metroid etc. Once the newest versions of the familiar franchises release I'll be very hesitant to take a chance on anything else. Yeah obviously I'm excited about updates to my favorite franchises but i have a real problem trusting the unfamiliar. Maybe it's my age. I just stick with what's comfortable and if something surprises me that'll be great too!

Re: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Not Ready To Announce The "Switch Successor"

Truegamer79

I know I'm probably very alone on this opinion and there's soon to be a flood of commentary about how the switch is so old and needs an upgrade, however I'm really not that excited to start fresh with another brand new system with barely any games for a very high price.

People get way too excited for what's to come and lose sight of what they could already be enjoying. Switch might be getting on in years but there's still a ton of undiscovered gems you could probably be playing right now while you wait.

Re: Random: Alien: Romulus Pays Tribute To Alien: Isolation With... Telephones?

Truegamer79

@ozwally

Hmm interesting. I saw Alien 3 in theaters and I'd never been more disappointed with a sequel in my life. Just 10 minutes in and i wanted to leave. I stuck with it though. I figured i paid for the ticket so i might as well see how bad it was. I was right. It sucked. I haven't seen any of them since Resurrection. I almost didn't hate that one. Then i saw the two Alien vs predator movies and well they're not nearly as cool as they sound.

Re: Random: Alien: Romulus Pays Tribute To Alien: Isolation With... Telephones?

Truegamer79

They need to make a direct sequel to Aliens that ignores the events in Alien 3 and bring Ripley back. That little girl from aliens should have stayed alive in alien 3. I still haven't forgiven the series for that mistep.

Also need to get back to playing Alien Isolation. Never finished it but what i played scared the crap outta me! The xenomorph was genuinely terrifying!

Re: Capcom Wants To Revive All Of Its Legacy Fighting Games On Modern Platforms

Truegamer79

It is weird that Street fighter probably gained its early popularity mostly from arcades and the many snes ports of SF 2 but SF 4,5 and 6 have never been on any of Nintendos main consoles.

We got a 3DS port of SF 4 but that was it. What gives? It's like lately Capcom just doesn't give a rats ass about putting their games on Nintendo systems.

On Switch 2 or whatever it's gonna be called they owe us the last 3 Street fighter games and the last 2 resident Evil main games plus the remakes of RE 2, 3 and 4.
Cloud versions don't count either.
Give us the real things or don't bother.

Re: Anniversary: The Game Boy Is Now 35 Years Old (North America)

Truegamer79

Got my first gameboy for my 13th birthday in 92. It came with mario land 2 six golden coins! I'm 45 now so thanks for making me feel ancient.
My first experience with gameboy was actually while living in a group home for boys a few years earlier. Long story, I had a messed up childhood okay. Anyway a guy working at the home i lived at had a Gameboy and he let me play it once in a while if my grades in school were good. Cool thing was he happened to be one of the guys who was in Desert storm and he took his gameboy with him to play during his downtime.

Cool guy! He kept me sane during a bad time in my life.

Re: Switch Is Now Nintendo's Longest-Serving Flagship Home Console

Truegamer79

Nothing will ever top that feeling of being alive when the Nes was brand new! Videogames were still in their infancy and it was something magical being there to experience it first hand. You kinda had to be there.

Switch is very good though. I remember the Snes debut was a big deal too. Kids were like wow what are all these extra buttons for? The commercials alone made it seem amazing! It's 16-bit! Now you're playing with power! Super power!

Congrats to the switch for hanging in there so long! Can't wait for the Super switch!

Re: What Review Score Would You Give Luigi's Mansion 2 HD?

Truegamer79

The price is insane but it's a good enough game I'm not too mad about it. The first game was way too short. People were calling it a tech demo at launch. I do like the variety of areas in LM 2 but not a fan of the mission structure. At least it's way longer with more to do.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Truegamer79

It is a really fantastic game but even the original Wii game didn't cost 60 dollars. Most of the highest profile first party games were around 50. Third party stuff got marked down to 30 pretty often and the shovel ware could be found in bargain bins for 20 bucks.

Re: No, The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Trailer Was Not Running On 'Switch 2'

Truegamer79

Nintendo said the new system would only be announced this year sometime. Not released. I'm guessing nobody will be running anything on it until probably then. My bet is by Christmas. Plus Metroid prime 4 was always said to be a switch game. You guys are getting way too ahead of yourselves. Wait until the damn thing gets announced and officially revealed. Then you'll see all kinds of games running on whatever system Nintendo has cooking up.
