Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

TrueBlueYoshi

Although I already pre-ordered a Switch 2, I wouldn't trade in my Switch 1 for a Switch 2 for that would be too premature for me. If I did, then I wouldn't have my console to keep me busy while I wait for the Switch 2 to launch on June 5. Instead, I'm keeping my Switch 1 until I get the Switch 2 then I'll trade in my Switch 1 along with most of it's games that I already completed and/or don't want anymore (I got a lot of Switch games but games i really love like Super Mario Odyssey and Smash Ultimate I'm keeping) for cash so I can get back half of the money I spent on the new console or trade credit for an accessory or game for Switch 2.

@Zealv2 uhh... aren't game key cards don't have the software, prompting you do following the instructions do download the rest of the data to the card, as I read on the North American Nintendo Support page?

"Game-key cards are different from regular game cards, because they don’t contain the full game data. Instead, the game-key card is your "key" to downloading the full game to your system via the internet."

I honestly don't see what the problem is with game key cards. Yes they don't contain the whole data, prompting you do download it after you insert it. But you the downloaded data will stay in the key card rather than your Nintendo Account and it can be resold or lended to someone else. It's like recording a movie or show on a blank VHS tape, and while i prefer game cards with the full data in, I don't know what's the fuss about with the key cards.
