Re: Feature: The Tightest, Briskest Mario & Luigi Game Turns 20 Today And Deserves More Love

Tipehtfomottob

This is the only Mario & Luigi game I've played, and the only RPG I've ever played too for that matter (I've been an avid gamer since the early 90's, just never been bothered for RPG's). I would say I played this about 17 year ago, and to be fair, I really really enjoyed it, bought fully into its RPG mechanics, however, try as I might, I could never defeat the final boss. That final form the Elder Princess Shroob took just annihilated me every time I tried. In the end, I just gave up and never bothered with again. To all those that can, I doff my cappy to you all.

Re: Introducing PLAYi - A Whole New Way To Not Play

Release/spec details please NL. I'll only consider buying this absolute quality of life device if you can assure me that there are no stability issues whatsoever. This needs to be more stable than all the current active Switches combined for it to be a viable option for me to purchase.

Re: Nintendo Is Discontinuing Gold Points, One Of The Switch's Best Incentives

Well, looks like I'm going to have to think carefully about what I purchase from the eshop from now on. I imagine others will be in the same boat. Surely less eshop sales will hit Nintendo's profit margin harder than giving money back. Tbf though, I only buy a digital game if it's on a decent sale. That being said, I do have over a hundred in the backlog 'cos I'm a sucka for it. With my last gold points balance, I was able to buy Degrees of Separation for a measley 0.34 pence.

Re: Knuckles Physical Blu-ray And DVD Release Arrives Later This Year

@hypnotoad I'm the opposite to be honest. As a gamer from the 90's I don't understand the love for Sonic Adventure. Compared to Mario's first 3D outing, SA plays absolutely dreadful. For me personally, the only Sonic games that matter are Sonic 1 (MD/Genesis) through to Sonic 3K (but absolutely not Sonic CD). These I can play over and over, time and time again. They are the classics for a reason. I even find Sonic Mania overrated.

Re: EA Apparently Exploring The Idea Of In-Game Ads In Traditional AAA Titles

Tipehtfomottob

Ads already ruin my browsing experience (the amount of times I've given up reading an article due to a significant lack of 'real estate' left on my screen is unacceptable), my YouTube viewing experience with numerous ads in even the shortest of vids, and now they I've invaded my Prime viewing as I am now expected to pay MORE for Amazon to cease them. So why the heck not let them come in and ruin my gaming pleasure too 😔

Re: Zelda Live-Action Movie Director Confident "Fans Are Gonna Be Happy"

Tipehtfomottob

With Nintendo's tight close involvement coupled with Wes Ball's promise of respecting the Zelda property, I really hope this blows me away the same way The Fellowship of the Ring did back in the day. When it comes to fantasy movies, the LotR trilogy raised the bar so high, nothing has come near them since. For me personally, I would rather Zelda be an animated movie by Studio Ghibli.

Re: Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Is A Switch Remake Of A Wii Favourite

Tipehtfomottob

@Lizuka I know what you mean. I still have my Wii hooked up to the main TV and have had this game for years in the always expanding backlog. A few months ago I decided to give it a shot, and yeah, a few hours in I just packed it in. The opening animation captured me, but the game itself was rather dull to play which was a shame as I was really looking forward to starting it.

Re: Jungle Book-Meets-The Apocalypse Platformer 'The Cub' Leaps Onto Switch This Month

Tipehtfomottob

Golf Club Wasteland was such a beautiful game that was more about the story than the gameplay itself. There was something about that game that definitely left an impression on me. And the haunting soundtrack that plays out like a radio session complete with expositional DJ chatter is so sublime that I downloaded it and have listened to it in the car on numerous occasions. The Cub looks to further enhance this post apocalyptic world the developers have created and the different type of game style definitely has me intrigued to return to their wasteland.

Re: Review: Gunbrella - Witty, Winsome Action-Platforming With A Great Hook

Hmmm, so he was out gathering mushrooms you say? And at the murder scene there was a 'unique' umbrella of sorts that does more than just protect its owner from those annoying droplets of H2O? Could it be that our plucky hero is a resident of the Mushroom Kingdom, and his murdered wife is none other the Super Princess Peach... and, wait for it, another shock twist, the murderer was actually dun dun duuun... Perry (the Magical Parasol) now incognito as the innocent looking Gunbrella 😲

Re: Soapbox: Rayman Legends Blew My Mind Then Broke My Heart

Tipehtfomottob

@Wilforce I understand where you are coming from. Both are great games. The same notion can be applied to Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. Is 2 a sequel or a plus? Does it really matter when they are both just fantastic Mario games, and which one is deemed the better can all depend on which way the wind is blowing on any given day.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Tipehtfomottob

A big plus for me is Nintendo have finally saw fit to get rid of a timer. Why Mario and Sonic 2D games felt the need for a timer to complete a level I do not know. SMW totally frustrates me as it has absolutely brilliant level design that you cannot fully explore to appreciate due to the timer. Many a time I've been caught out exploring a level only for that dreaded music change to kick in which then results in a mad panic to get to the end before being timed out. With Wonder, it looks like I'll be able to explore to my heart's content and I really can't wait. Thank you Nintendo, a much welcomed game changer for sure imho - better late than never.
