Re: Gallery: Unboxing Zelda: Link's Awakening Limited Edition On Switch

@gcunit Overpriced??? Considering I paid £50 for Mortal Kombat on the Megadrive back in '92, I would
say that this is a fair price. The beauty is, video gaming has never really increased in price since the NES days. I earn more, therefore can buy more. The enjoyment I know I'll get from playing this really good Zelda game will be worth every hard earned penny. It's about putting it into perspective. I can easily spend £50-£70 on a night out on the town and having nothing to show for it the next morning other than a hang over from hell and a far from happy wife whom I promised to take shopping. I take the easy life and buy 'not really over priced' video games. I still get grumbled at, but I have something to show for it and it keeps my hobby alive.

I'm soo chuffed 😁 Just had my own unboxing session after getting home from work. The artwork book is a delight. Even the box itself is well made and well thought out. Suffice to say, I'm glad I went with the CE edition. The only negative is the oversized age restriction stickers on the front of the main game case. Such pretty artwork ruined by these Ganon style monstrosities. Right, of I go to re-play a gaming classic.

Re: Anniversary: The Original Super Mario Bros. Launched On NES 34 Years Ago Today

As a 10 year old I thought I was controlling a live action character. To my young eyes, that was how good the technological leap seemed to be when I upgraded to NES from my ZX Spectrum 😁. It just amazes me how playable Super Mario Bros still plays to this day. Full credit to the developers for their ingenuity in producing such a remarkable game that will forever and a day stand the test of time.

Re: The Sega Mega Drive Turns 30 Today

I loved my Mega Drive. I remember the day I bought it like it was yesterday. The year was 1991. I saved up my paper-round money for weeks; I was on £20 a week for 4 rounds. The day finally came - I had £150 of my had earned at the ready. Off to Woolworths me and my mate went. I was buying the bundle that came with 2 controllers (remember those days), Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Games 1 (World Cup Italia 90, Columns & Super Hang-on) and a carry case. By fortune, my mate had a £5 off voucher for Woolworths. So with my newly purchased Mega Drive in hand, we first called off at MaccyD's where I treat us both to an extra value meal with the remaining £5 I now had. Meal consumed, it was straight back to my house where hours were then lost to 2 player World Cup Italia 90 matches. With the arrival of my Mega Drive, it saddens me now to admit that my much loved NES became a disregarded casualty that had a brief resurgence when I got Micro Machines for Christmas of that year. My Mega Drive eventually gave up the ghost in 2003 where unceremoniously it was off-loaded at the nearest house-hold recycling centre. May it RIP! Many, many good times were certainly had with an awesome piece of hardware. Off note, my personal top 5 Mega Drive games (in no particular order) would be: Sonic 2, Dynamite Heddy, Red Zone, Flashback and Toejam & Earl (loved it in 2 player, although fall-outs would always ensue due to life stealing).

@Bunkerneath Have you previously bought from Limited Run and had to pay an import tax? I only ask as I live in the UK and have Dust pre-ordered. Considering their crazy expensive shipping costs to the UK, and the fact that orders once placed are deemed final by them, I am weary that I will end up having to pay the dreaded import tax too. I've had my fingers burnt before in regard to import tax after ordering a Zelda Nedoroid figure direct from the Good Smile Company.
