Re: EA Looks Set To Buy Codemasters As Take-Two Withdraws Its Bid

Tipehtfomottob

Well, who is gonna be looking forward to Dizzy remasters with obligatory micro-transactions eh? Oh look over there, it's Denzel trapped in a block of ice! How do I free him?? Just remembered, the eshop... I can purchase in-game currency with my real hard-earned money so that I can buy firewood and matches from the in-game shop.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Teaser Webpage Tells Fans To "Stay Tuned" For More Details About Bowser's Fury

@BlubberWhale Both are, without a doubt, fantastic games and are amongst the very best games I've ever played in the last 30 years. The Zelda series is my absolute favourite and I say this having only gotten into Zelda when PH was released as I also bought a DS Lite (surprisingly, my first ever handheld console). However, as I already have WW (GC) & TP (Wii), and still have my Wii as one of my main consoles proudly hooked up to my TV, I wouldn't be too bothered for re-leases of the HD versions as both games still look amazing and play perfectly via my Wii. That being said, should Nintendo release super duper collectable editions this year for the Zelda anniversary then yes, I will be very tempted to buy. The way Mario was treated for his anniversary though, I won't be holding my breath.

Had the first game (aka Project Zero) for PS2 back in the day. Played it for almost an hour and decided that it wasn't for me. Not because I thought it was rubbish, but because it scared the living bejesus out of me. In my defense, I was only 23 at the time. I have been tempted to revisit this series over the years but just haven't had the cajones.

Re: Sonic Movie Sequel Scheduled To Start Production In March Next Year

Tipehtfomottob

The first wasn't a bad movie, if rather dumb in places. It was a mildly entertaining movie that passed a couple of hours. Would love to see a video game adaptation though. I'm thinking maybe a 2D platformer in the style of Mario et al, but obviously much, much faster. It should be set in Sonic's home world like the beginning of the movie (cos that was the best part... so no James Marsden) and he could face off with Jim Carey's character at the end of every level. To give him a bit of an advantage, Jim Carey could maybe have some sort of weaponized vehicle that he rides about in, but in a typically platformy fashion, all Sonic would need to do to defeat Jim Carey is jump at his weak spot a few times. Once defeated, Sonic would then move to the next area that could be a different theme from the previous. I know my idea doesn't follow the plot of the movie, but I think it's an idea Sega could get behind and it could really give our moustached plumber a real (pun intended) run for his money.

"Over the past 30 years spanning multiple generations, Sonic fans have created memories with their speedy Blue Blur."
I feel sorry for those Sonic fans that only have memories created during the last two decades. For me, the best Sonic games in favourite order are Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I have Sonic Mania but have not yet fully embraced it. Although good, and very faithful to OG Sonic, it just seems to familiar. Sonic games released between the MD/Genesis Sonic's and Sonic Mania (including Sonic CD but excluding the Sega & Sonic Racing games) have just not been good enough in my opinion. Sega, over to you to change my tune.

Re: Today's The Big Day - Happy 35th Anniversary, Mario!

Tipehtfomottob

Hey all, let's not forget to wish Bowser a big Happy Birthday too. He's been a constant thorn in Mario's side since SMB (taking the odd break here and there) and shows no signs in slowing down any time soon. Of all gamings most recognisable nemesis', he surely ranks at the very top. So from me, Happy Birthday big fella, may you one day reclaim Princess Peach from the clutches of the nefarious plumber.

Re: Nintendo Explains How Motion Controls Work In Super Mario Galaxy On Switch

I eventually got round to playing and completing SM Sunshine a couple of years ago via my Wii (still hooked up to my TV and currently playing Monster World 4). It's definitely a quirky edition to the Mario series but I really enjoyed it. I just hope Nintendo have fixed the god awful camera for this Switch release. That thing was a real pain to wrestle with. Try as I might, I could never complete the pachinko mini game. The camera always screwed me over. I'm really buzzed for SM3DW though as I never bought a Wii U.

Re: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Is Getting A Physical Collector's Edition On Switch

Tipehtfomottob

@Shworange Sorry but I disagree. Why only limit a physical release to those lucky few? At least your copy will always be the LRG variant. I pre-ordered SoR 4 from LRG but didn't give two hoots that it then got a proper release. Unforseen to LRG, they apologised and offered refunds if people wanted it. I really didn't think it necessary to cancel as I wanted the game physically regardless. They's more to life than to be bitter about a game you bought for its exclusivity and then realise it gets an official release.

Re: Sega Wants To Take "Good Care" Of 2D And 3D Sonic In The Future

Tipehtfomottob

Plain and simple, Sonic, unlike Mario, just does not work as a 3D platformer. 3D platforming is not built for speed. Sonic has not been at his best since Sonic 3 & Knuckles. As good and faithful as Sonic Mania is, it's just a love letter to OG Sonic. 3D Sonic needs to be tossed off at Scrap Brain and Christian Whitehead needs to be given the keys to run riot with 2D Sonic to stamp his own identity on the franchise going forward. He truly understands what makes Sonic great.

Re: The First Review For Paper Mario: The Origami King Is Now In

@Alztru
I'm just the same. Never been a fan of RPG's/turn based RPG's etc. However a good few years ago I played my first one - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Loved the hell out of it until... the three stage final boss battle. Holy cow! Try as I might, I could never beat the final form. As such, I've not played any form of RPG since. That being said, I did purchase the original Paper Mario from the Wii Shopping Channel back in the day and I picked up TTYD for a good price of eBay a few year back; I fully intend to play both at some point in time.

Re: Nintendo's Wii Is Still A Hit In Care Homes 13 Years Later

Tipehtfomottob

I still have my Wii plugged proudly into the main TV along with Switch and PS3. It is still such a great console. The last game I played on it was about 2 months ago; Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias. Such a beautiful game that is now lost forever since Nintendo permanently closed the Shopping Channel.

Re: Fortnite Players Are Angry At Epic After Missing Out On The Season Finale

Tipehtfomottob

I've been gaming for 30 years now and as the internet has got better and faster over the years I've not once been interested in online gaming. So yeah, I pissed myself when my teenage son came thundering down the stairs complaining about not being able to get into the event having waited for almost an hour. If there is a positive out of this, he instead sunk a couple of hours more into Xenoblade Chronicles.

Re: Tricky Towers Goes Physical On Switch With All DLC Included

Tipehtfomottob

@TheNewButler
Yeah but surely anything that is deemed as collectable is sold by a seller with the intent to exploit a buyer. With limited game companies like SRG et al, if there's a particular game I want to purchase physically I would rather be exploited by them now rather than by an eBay seller later on down the line.
