Re: Flashback 2 Trailer Is Giving Us Flashbacks To Flashback

Tipehtfomottob

Loved the original on Megadrive but could never finish the first sequel, Fade to Black on PC due to inadvertently creating a game-save loop during a timed section making it impossible for me to complete before the timer ran out. Not being computer savvy back then, my only option it seemed was to start the game from scratch. I didn't bother and have never played it since. This new sequel seems to be shaping up very well. Hope it turns out good 🤞

Re: Feature: The One Thing Wii Did Much Better Than Switch

@Emacster So very wrong on so many levels. If you allowed yourself to get past that stigma of the Wii being for the non-gaming community, you would find that it is truly an amazing console with a fantastic range of games. A mate of mine had the exact same feelings towards the Wii too. He's a massive gamer, has been since the good old Speccy & C64 days, but completely ruled out the Wii. I tried to educate him but to no avail - he just was not interested in the slightest. As they say though, each to their own. If we all liked the same things, it would be very boring world.

Without doubt, the Wii is one of the finest consoles I've ever had and one I still own. It's still sat proudly amongst my Switch, PS2 & PS3 on the main TV. In fact, I only just re-completed Super Mario Galaxy 2 last night having initially played it back in 2011. A great console where I still have fun times.

Re: Sonic Superstars Includes "New Character" By OG Designer Naoto Ohshima

Tipehtfomottob

Wow, the first time I've actually been very excited for a new Sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles was released way back when for the Sega Megadrive. Love the art style and it seems to be using the same control/feel of the classic games - a perfect blend. 4 player co-op could be a tad chaotic though. Also, anyone else getting Sega's answer to the NSMB games vibes from this?

Re: Valve Confirms It Contacted Nintendo About Dolphin Emulator Coming To Steam

Tipehtfomottob

As an owner of current, and past, Nintendo consoles & handhelds, and have legitimately bought many games for these (currently have 70+ physical Switch games), I feel that I have suitably (and loyally) lined Nintendo's pockets over the years. As such, I do not see an issue with regard to downloading ROMs for the older consoles for games no longer available at retail. I have done this for many a game having now modded my Wii so that I can indulge myself in Nintendo's great back catalogue. I have not paid a penny and yet despite my loyalty as previously mentioned, I would be deemed a 'right wrong un' for indulging in this gray area of an activity. Yet, for the second hand games I've bought too from eBay, CeX etc, I've lined a second hand seller's pockets, resold a few to line my own pockets, and yet this is never called into question/debate.

Re: The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom amiibo Is Now Available, Did You Get It?

Tipehtfomottob

A very sore point this as it is now the only LoZ Amiibo I don't have. I originally preordered from Shopto for £19.99, then cancelled once preorder became available from Nintendo Store at £12.99 so placed order. In the meantime I had a new bank card issued so changed my card details on my Nintendo Store account. Not having a warm and fuzzy feeling, I opened a chat with a Nintendo Store agent to discuss if my preorder was ok. I was informed that I would need to cancel as they couldn't amend payment details. This wouldn't have been a problem except this Amiibo was now sold out. I didn't cancel my preorder but changed my payment details on my account back to my previous card as it wasn't due to expire until 14th May and I could still continue to use it providing I didn't start using my new card. 12th May finally arrived, I checked my order status whilst at work and noticed on my payment details of my preorder that my card expiry date had changed to 01/01. Thought I would wait until my break to contact Nintendo, however it was all too late. I received a dreaded email telling me that my order had been successfully cancelled. Absolutely gutted and annoyed that Nintendo Store UK couldn't do anything at all in this technological age.

Re: Anniversary: Five Years Ago, Nintendo Unboxed Its Most Joyful, Harebrained Experiment

Tipehtfomottob

My lad had a few of the kits, but they ended up tucked away gathering dust in his bedroom for a couple of years untouched. Very carefully, I eventually dismantled them piece by piece (not a straight forward task tbh), boxed it all back up and donated at my local charity shop. It was a cool concept and worked really well as advertised, but at the end of the day, like anything that is a novelty, it was just a gimmick that came with that pure Nintendo charm. I would say the biggest gripe was that for any other household members wanting to use this from their respective profiles, you had no choice but to go through every single screen of the build process before getting to playing it. Why Nintendo didn't include a skip option I have no clue.

Re: Talking Point: Should Link Have Voice Acting In The Next Zelda Game?

Tipehtfomottob

No way, not needed. I immerse my so much playing a LoZ game that I feel like the supporting NPCs are talking directly to me. This would be lost if he were to be given a voice. Plus, whatever voice he was to be given it would never be right. Last thing I want is for Link to sound like another Jak or Ratchet (not a criticism btw, their voices suit their characters). Also, going live action should be a no no. Whoever was to be picked wouldn't be the right person for the job - back the fudge away Tom Holland.

Re: Miyamoto: Nintendo Is "Always" Working On Mario, But Isn't Ready For The Next Game Reveal Just Yet

Tipehtfomottob

@NintendoByNature I would really love for a sequel to Mario Odyssey just as much as the next person, but looking back at the Mario's main line releases (not including NSMB) over the previous generations, this single release is the relative norm - NES: 3 SNES: 1 (sorry but Yoshi's Island is not really a traditional Mario game), N64: 1, GC: 1, Wii: 2, WiiU: 1 & Switch: 1.
I think we have to accept the fact we ain't getting another one this generation 😑

Re: Gallery: Mario Characters' Movie Vs. Game Designs - Which Do You Prefer?

Tipehtfomottob

With Miyamoto’s tight leash to keep Illumination reigned in (in part no doubt due to the travesty of the abysmal live action attempt), I have to say that thus far this adaptation is giving me very high "wahoo" vibes. I truly believe that this Mario movie is going to be THE defining video game movie for the ages. Roll on April, it'll be a peach of a time.

Re: Feature: Which Zelda Games Should You Replay Before Tears Of The Kingdom?

Tipehtfomottob

I started Four Swords Adventure a few months ago for the first time. Quite a tricky one to play solo (I certainly ain't buying 3 GBAs for the family to join in, family co-op bridges have been well and truly burned by Overcooked). I've only been playing in-between games as it isn't a game you can dip into for 20 mins or so here and there as each level can take an hour plus to complete with no mid level save points. Very different and charming though.

Re: Humble Zelda: A Link To The Past Tribute 'Airoheart' Gets Switch Release Date

Tipehtfomottob

The LoZ is a phenomenal series. Any of the main line games from TLoZ to Breath of the Wild (except Zelda 2) are an absolute delight to play from start to finish and all have bags of charm and personality. The problem I have with Zeldalikes, like this, is that yes they do look very good, but straight away I am unfairly comparing them to LoZ and I struggle to get over this, 😞especially as I know that there are some highly regarded Zeldalikes out there.

Re: Feature: Treasure Games That Need Switch Ports Or Sequels

Tipehtfomottob

Without doubt Treasure made one of the best platformer games ever and can't believe it didn't even get at least a honourable mention in this article. The game I am referring to, Dynamite Headdy. I played this gem of a game too much back during my Megadrive days. It's just an absolute pure joy from start to finish. I really wish Treasure turned it into a franchise. But I guess it came out a little too late in the generation and as such it never received the adulation it so deserved.

Re: Memory Pak: My Nostalgic Sonic 2 Playthrough Was A Treasured Gaming Moment

Tipehtfomottob

@Gerald Same boat mate. I can easily pick up Sonic 2 and play it to completion as though it was yesterday. However, back in the day when I got proper gud, I would ensure that I had collected every Chaos Emerald before completing Emerald Hill Zone. Doing it now though, I just give up with the idea and complete the game without them. To be honest, I now find Sonic's special stages too tedious to bother with.
