We made it through another week, well done everyone! There was a varied slate of news this week, with one of the slightly disappointing stories being allegations of poor management practices at Metroid Dread developer MercurySteam, but in happier news we also had the arrival of Sora in Smash, we confirmed that Crysis Remastered Trilogy does indeed run on Switch, Nintendo gave us Vampire Waluigi, and GTA Trilogy was dated and detailed for Switch. In slightly disappointing news, though, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was delayed to Spring 2022.
After all that, it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

I've been rattling through Metroid Dread for a second playthrough trying to beat it 'quickly' for extra unlocks. I'm no speedrunner but have been enjoying a more action-oriented and direct run, which is almost done. I'm also tempted to grab a couple of retro goodies in Capcom Arcade Stadium now that they can be bought individually, and I've restarted Hollow Knight yet again with the goal of actually finishing it.
Elsewhere I've been playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is the first time I've played the games. The first one is a bit janky (as various reviews suggested) but I am looking forward to seeing why the trilogy of games (in particular the second one) has been talked up so much over the years.

Hello. This weekend, after a full two weeks of hammering Metroid Dread, I’m gonna be switching things up and getting stuck into Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, as well trying to make a bit more progress in Corey Martin’s Bonfire Peaks, an excellent indie puzzle game that you really need to check out.
Disco Elysium is easily one of my favourite games of the past few years and I’m really impressed with the Switch port so far. Yes, there’s a few long loading times to sit through, but it’s more than worth it to have this incredible RPG to play on the go.
Elsewhere, I’ve also picked up the Aryton Senna DLC for Horizon Chase Turbo, a racer that looks absolutely stunning on the OLED Switch, and it’s just a really slick and heartfelt tribute to the legendary driver from the game’s Brazilian developers. Have a good weekend!

Hey folks! With everyone suddenly talking about Animal Crossing: New Horizons again, I've decided to once again head back onto my Island and see what's what. Only problem is I forgot I'd started from scratch a few months back, so I'm still right at the start of the game with only a tent and a lantern to call my own!
Elsewhere, I've decided to jump back into the world of Dying Light on the Series X ahead of the sequel's launch. It's a cracker; such a well realised world. Have a good one, all!

My mission to ZDR has been completed so now I am left with a great void of nothingness in my life. Hopefully it won’t take Nintendo another two decades to deliver further adventures of Samus Aran in her 2D ventures. I am still playing through the Horizon Chase Turbo - Senna Forever expansion, there has never been a better time to return to the game than now. The career mode is quite a challenge well worth investing in, but some of those race objectives are hard to pull off.
Movie of the decade is DUNE Part One. I would rather like to say that I would be playing a DUNE game on Switch this weekend, but… there isn’t one. No, Fortnite does not count!

I fully intend to get further stuck into Metroid Dread this weekend. I've just beaten Kraid and I'm amazed at how fluid the game feels compared to previous games in the series. I really feel like it might be tough to go back after sliding around ZDR. I've also been thoroughly enjoying Tetris Effect: Connected and making my way through the surprisingly touching LEGO Builder's Journey, too.
Beyond that, I picked up Hob for for peanuts on the eShop last week, so I'd like to investigate that if I get the time. I have to admit, though, that I've just been randomly cycling through some of my installed games and firing them up so see them on the Switch OLED. They're all so purdy.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

The release schedule isn’t too packed at the moment so I’ve been taking the opportunity to work through some of the games that have been sitting in my backlog for ages. Almost finished with the Hotline Miami Collection now and I think I’ll probably play Pikuniku next. Not sure what I’ll play after that but I have a few options lined up. Been playing a bit of Tetris Effect on the side as well.
I’m back to playing Switcher.
Completed the main story last year and loved it. Now I’ve started the DLC Heart of Stone. It looks like I will be spending a lot of hours back in this game!
Metroid Dread!
Still on the Smash Bros kick with Sora, and I ended up picking up Melody of Memory for Switch. The demo didn't click with me at first, but something about changing the timing settings rewired my brain to the correct beat of the song and now I just can't stop.
Bloodstained: ritual of the night which has yet to hook me so far. After finishing aria of sorrow it feels a bit janky and unresponsive.
Switch: Metroid Dread
Series S: Back4Blood
Finally got my hands on a PS5 (wooo): Death Stranding Directors Cut.
Have a good weekend everybody.
Switch - Smash Ultimate, practicing with Sora!
PS5 - Persona 5 Royal!
PC - Gmod with friends!
I'm actually replaying now Zelda: Link's Awakening remake. It's just so much FUN! And it looks so good it always makes me want to play XD. A shame it has so many frame issues they haven't fixed... It could be a perfect Zelda 2D.
Playing Nexomon Extinction on my new Switch OLED, the colours are so vivid! It's a really good game that I snatched up whilst it was on discount. I will also play Regency Solitaire, an indie game coded by a good friend of mine.
While a lot of my free time will be admittedly spent behind the laptop this weekend (a free ESO+ period will do that to you - ironically, I've still been doing Vvardenfell quests regardless, but I'm vacuuming all the craft materials that aren't nailed down, planning a visit to Elsweyr at the very least and I might even fo out of my way to dig up a guide, collect enough books for the Mages Guild and possibly hunt down that Eidetic Memory feature to bring the game in line with my primary self-assigned crusade in all 3D Elder Scrolls games), I sure don't intend to neglect the consoles either. My Switch library has been finally blessed with two of THE 2021 releases I've pined for (Fuga and Subnautica) on top of other promising additions like The Solitaire Conspiracy, Aggelos, Titan Chaser, Forest Guardian, Train Station Simulator, Evan's Remains... easier to say which I will NOT be playing this weekend (CentralFiction is still the fourth game in BlazBlue franchise, and I haven't even touched Calamity Trigger yet), although the rest might prove enough to keep me from the residential playthroughs except Portia for the period at hand.
There may be some Vita time as well - the recent news are giving me an itch to revisit and make some more progress in GTA LCS, and I'm more enthused about Dracula X Chronicles after not only accessing and starting Symphony of the Night at long last, but also unlocking Maria Renard who, besides her value as a rare playable Castlevania female, also brings borderline game-changing skills and controls to the respective classicvania she debuted in. It's technically balanced by her lower defense, but I'm still a lot more optimistic about finishing the game within a visible future now.😄
Astral Chain, Smash Bros. and maybe a couple other titles on Switch.
I've been getting back into Animal Crossing to prepare for the update/dlc! Sprucing up my island and clearing a whole lot of weeds.
Also been working through Tetris Effect single player and started playing Crash Bandicoot Trilogy... forgot how hard the first game was!
Diablo 2 resurrected on PC
I can't stop playing Days Gone on Steam. Other than that a bit of Tetris Effect and Dead Cells.
6 Golden Coins, in color!
I played Gamecube game and BEMANI games for this weekend. 🤓
Gamecube
The Sims Bustin' Out
BEMANI games 🎵🎶
1. Keyboardmania II PS2
2. Pop'n Music 8 PS2
3. Dance Dance Revolution 4th Mix PS1
4. Para Para Paradise PS2
Switch: Metroid dread for me.
Xbox: Some overcooked 2 and minecraft dungeons with my brother.
Replaying L.A noire on ps4, mario galaxy luigi run, Joe and Mac 2 and Resident Evil 4 VR which is awesome!
@SterlingEyes I will try Bloodstained next weekend since i ordered it just few days ago still waiting. As of now still Bayonetta and maybe some resident evil games.
Dishonored Definitive Edition on my PS4.
Fight 'n' Rage, Scott Pilgrim and Feudal Alloy on my Switch
Dragon Quest 11 on switch. And when thr wife plays let's go on it, mario galaxy 1 on wii again.
I picked up Corpse Party during the week. Thankfully I didn't make the mistake of reading the review that NL linked to in their New Releases article, since that was for the much weaker third game.
Also playing some Vostok Inc and, when I have time, some Alone In The Dark on the Dreamcast.
Some 3DS stuff
85 hrs into ni no kuni so a bit more grind and then off to see the white witch. Also katamari damacy and smash as a bit of light relief. Stacks of games in various stages of completion to try and polish off.
Playing Crysis this weekend. FPS's aren't my favourite genre and I found the jungley first bit of the game a bit boring. But now the world needs saving so I can't leave it there
In between rounds of "Oh Crap I Need to Finish My Halloween Costume So I can Impress Like Three Children" (it's not on Switch yet) I'll be trying to sneak in time on Methhead Dred. Methane Dead. Breadtoy Med? Whatever, it's a good game, I just wish I had more time to play it.
Dreadful weekend yet again. Hopefully the last for a while though.
@GrailUK that’s the attitude, soldier!
Stilk enjoying Suikoden 2, though I must shamefully admit I am using a guide so I can find all 108 characters AND make it in the time limit for a subquest.
Can't wait to finally start playing Suikoden 3, the only one I haven't played much of yet.
Well my son is trying to complete his Pokédex on Pokémon home, apparently meaning he has to spend lots of time in Pokémon Sword and Let’s Go Pikachu. So for me that means minimal Switch time as we only have 1. But when I can I’m playing Mario Galaxy and DK2. And might try Prison Architect while it’s free with the online thing.
So tonight I finally finished Metroid Dread on normal and hard under 4 hours each….back to Rare Replay and finish Blastcorps
On to darksiders 3!
replaying my Animal Crossing New Horizon, when i wait for the amazing 2.0 update
@moodycat wait what? What didn’t you like about Luigis Mansion 3? It’s the best of the franchise. I loved that game.
@fafonio Oh well done!
Just started Astral Chain, so far it’s very original and fun.
Also just started chapter 3 of Trails in the Sky.
Aiming to finish Dread along with some Tetris 99
I finished Dread few minutes ago, so I have absolutely nothing to play but I have a lot of time to play...
Just starting Blasphemous. Switch is perfect for this sort of game. Ori and Dread are on my shopping list, but are there any other 2D metroidvania's I should be looking out for on switch? Finally got to the factory in RE Village so nearly finished but Far Cry 6 is so addictive so might go back to that.
Monster hunter rise!
Started my second playthrough of BotW a few months ago. Last time I played it was at launch where I put 115 hours into it, finished it with all shrines complete but not all korok seeds.
This time I’m going for EVERYTHING. So far I’m 85 hours in, I’ve done 2 divine beasts, 71 shrines, 430-odd korok seeds. No walkthrough used yet but I’m under no illusion I won’t use one when it comes to mopping up the remaining seeds when I’m done. For now though, the hero’s path in tandem with the korok mask are proving invaluable in my scouting every inch of the map.
My views on the game originally were that it was great but not so much for me. Zelda being my favourite series, though, I stuck it out. This time around, I’m having such a whale of a time. I’ve learned to play by the game’s rhythm rather than the game I wanted it to be and now it’s become a much more tranquil, relaxed and explorative experience. And I love it.
I have zero doubt in my mind that I won’t be starting anything else until a decent way into 2022 and that’s alright. Just want this thing done and dusted before the sequel!
XB1 focus for the next month or so with Halo 5. Not only will there likely be a population drop when Infinite launches but it's been confirmed rotational playlists like Action Sack and Castle Wars are being removed permanently when Infinite launches.
Pretty much a case of making the most of fun things while they last.
At the final boss in Dread and he's wiping the floor with me at the moment. Hopefully will finish the game soon. What a journey its been!
@GrailUK thanks. Imagine my laugh in frustration when I finished hard mode the first time with a final time of 4:00:13 …. missing the unlockable by 13 seconds -_-
I'll be continuing to put my new laptop through its paces with Age of Wonders: Planetfall and Civilization 6, while on the Switch I'm trying to complete Slay the Spire with more than one character and might get back to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
Taking the family to see Dune tomorrow, with a mixture of anticipation and dread. I have loved the book Dune (and, I should add, only Dune, as the rest of the series is complete trash) since discovering it around 1980. I've been burned twice now by adaptations to visual media, will the third time be the charm?
@moodycat it’s a shame you didn’t like LM3. I have played all three games and I will admit I do enjoy the games. And whilst I am no game designer, the bad controls I think are deliberate - I personally appreciate the charm it gives to Luigi as a character.
Of course I completely respect that this unique ‘charm’ is not for everyone and I do get the frustration you encountered. But for me it was part of the joy of the game.
Metroid Dread, it's awesome!
@SigmaNoire Im so jealous of you. I have so many games yet to be played but so little time Share some time !!
@Lilmonix3 this is my game of the year!! I played it all 65 hours in a few weeks without pausing to play anything else. It's just good fun and the chapter structure has this game play loop that's never got tired of
I really want to pick up Disco Elysium. Does anyone know if ZA/UM have released any patches to address its relatively minor (so I’m told) framerate issues?
Metroid Dread wont leave my Switch for another month
Other M, resident evil chronicles, and castlevania judgement for Wii
MK4 and MK trilogy on 64
-Happy Halloween
I got Smash ultimate yesterday so ive been enjoying collecting the spirits whilst trying to get used to the controls. Other than that i intend to clear up Crysis 3.
If I get time to play anything I would like it to be Dragon Quest 7. It is my girlfriend's favorite game, and I've never even touched it. Excited to see what all the fuss is about!
Finished Metroid Dread earlier this week, so I'm using this brief lull in releases to replay Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade until the Pokémon remakes come out next month. Trying to go for a bad unit run
I wanted to beat Resident Evil: Revelations, but... Something bad happened. And I decided to play other games. Yesterday I downloaded Capcom Arcade Stadium and bought Cyberbots. I played 1943: Battle for Midway for about 35 minutes. Good game, but not for long sessions. And Cyberbots... I played it for about 1 hour. And it's really pissed me off. Game have too much cheating AI, in my opinion. I've seen Game Over screen many times. Controls in game is not good in my opinion. Almost the same as in the Armored Warriors(Powered Gear). Robots on the screen looks like they are bad disco-dancers. I don't enjoy playing this game, but I need to complete it. That's all what I'm played on this week. I hope that Capcom Arcade Stadium will recieve new game packs in the near future. I want to play and buy Vampire Savior, Alien vs. Predator, Dungeon & Dragons beat 'em ups, War-Zard... On the next week, I think I will play Super Mario Odyssey and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]. Oh, and I'm planning to beat Arcade Mode in Guilty Gear XX ΛCore Plus R as Justice.
I just finished a solo run of the original Borderlands on Switch using Mordecai last night. It was my first time playing solo, since I always play Borderlands games with my wife. Even solo, it was still a blast. As one of my top 10 games, I wouldnt expect anything less. I'll probably play some of the DLC this weekend too.
I may also continue Sky: Children of the Light since I have an afternoon to myself. It's so absorbing, so I think I'll just binge it. And I may start up Dicey Dungeons as well, since I bought it super cheap on sale a few weeks ago.
Was looking forward to the Horizon Chase Senna Forever DLC but it’s not working for physical owners of the game at the moment.
Having said that, it’s not like there isn’t anything else to play, so I’ll be diving back into some Smash Ultimate with Sora (and the oft-forgotten awesome Doom Guy Mii costume). Maybe a little Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl if there’s time.
LOTS of smash ultimate, practicing with Sora. Already got all of his spirits.
Resident Evil 4 in VR--and it's frikin' glorious.
This weekend i'll be playing through theses games on multiple systems.
Ps4: Life is Strange: True Colours and Kena Bridge of Spirits
Xbox 1: Marvel Avengers and Far Cry 6
Switch: Metriod Dread and Ender lilies Quietus of the Knight
I thought that diablo 3 was the most boring videogame ever....now that I bought disco elysium, I changed my mind
I burned out on WoW and Diablo 2 so I’m really just waiting for Pokémon BDSP atm. Got myself quite a few shinies this past week, wee bit of MTG Arena. Busy month next month though!
@The_Pixel_King
I’ve not heard of any patches yet but IGN podcast was scathing about the game on Switch. I’d definitely hold off buying for now.
I can recommend Planescape Torment if you’ve not played that before.
Crysis 2 remastered Switch.
2 weekends ago, I did finish Super Metroid (got a very anticlimactic thumbs up endscreen from Samus for my inept effort, though). As planned, I moved on to Metroid Dread afterward and was settling into that, but then I guess the Halloween vibe hit me because now all of a sudden I’m reading “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and playing Darkest Dungeon again 🎃
I’d always played it on the cartridge before, but double-dipped for digital convenience - did you know the save data isn’t compatible!? I had to start all over! But I don’t mind having to restart this excellent game, really.
Also picked up Creature in the Well and Wandersong for a pittance on sale this week, so I may try them out, while dabbling with ACNH.
Have a fun weekend NL friends!
Axiom Verge on Wii U. I was able to beat that weird boss who gives you the phase beam.
SSBU with my kids. I still haven't bought all of the DLC, though. Not that I don't want it, just I haven't gotten around to it. Played some Blaster Master Zero and I'm slightly stuck in Zone 3, but I think I can work out what to do to progress. On ACNH, I am redesigning my island which is going to be a headache since that isn't quite my forte but I think I will surprise myself if I actually try. Been meaning to get into Stardew Valley so I may if time permits.
Also, I've been playing KH on my X1. Made it past the part where I was stuck many years ago, around the time when the game was new. Hoping to get through the Tarzan part, in other words.
Have a great rest of your weekend, everyone.
I'm revisiting dying light on the switch. It runs very well. My nitpicks would be that there's no options to fine tune gyro, like at all. Which sucks tech land! If you guys need inspiration look at quake remastered, it damn near reaches mouse levels of accuracy. Also the writing is horrible. So goddamn awful. Bashing zombies is great tho.
I'll probably go right back to battle brothers after that. Maybe my favorite game on switch.
I'm playing Hot Wheels Unleashed.
It's gonna be a busy time with DLC and racing season in the coming month.
Switch: Sega Ages Shinobi, Super Mario Odyssey
Series X: Ryse: Son of Rome, Back 4 Blood
PS5: Hot Wheels Unleashed campaign
Finished up my 100% run through of Metroid Dread & oh my, what a fantastic game! If you haven’t picked it up I urge you to give it a shot soon! I’m currently shuffling between Horizon Chase Turbo Senna DLC & the OG NES Metroid with a couple quests from Monster Hunter Rise sprinkled in between. Trying to fit Dune in this weekend as well!
Ori and the will of the wisps. Have a nice weekend folks!
I'm continuing to try many games on the OLED Switch. I'm enjoying Capcom arcade collection, Ghosts and Goblins Resurrected, Grid Autosport, Super Mario Maker 2, Dusk '82, Aleste Collection, Mario Golf Super Rush, Fast RMX, etc.
Third playthrough of Metroid Dread. Beat on normal (86%), Hard (100%), now I’m going on Normal for a sub 8-hour clear.
My Switch clock says “Played for 40 hours or more”... so much for it not being worth the asking price haha.
I’m eyeing my next game — probably a Metroidvania becuase I got the bug. The Blasphemous Demo is good and I might grab that on the $8.99 sale, give Blaster Master Zero 2 another chance to grab me like the first one did, or maybe even fire up ol’ Hollow Knight again... see if the King of the Genre is still the best of them now that the Queen has arrived.
Playing through Dying light on switch they’ve done an amazing job with this port.
@GingerNinja Hollow Knight is the GOAT, The Messenger is amazing if you vibe with it, Ori has a lot of fans (haven’t played much myself) as does Steamworld Dig 2 and Bloodstained (not sure if it’s fixed on Switch).
If Blasphemous vibes with you there are also 2D souls-likes ( that borrow a bit from Metroidvania) Salt & Sanctuary and Death’s Gambit are on the table.
Although it’s not a Metroidvania — despite a lot of philistines categorizing it as such — Dead Cells is great fun and scratches some Metroidvania itches.
Also if you don’t mind visiting the old school, Aria of Sorrow on the Castlevania Advance Collection is probably the best “-vania” of the Metroidvanias.
@Lilmonix3 How does Ys IX play now on Switch? I bought it but I'm still waiting for news about a patch fixing the frame issues. Is it better already??
@FatWormBlowsASparky Oh really? Was the IGN podcast NVC? I’ve only gotten half way through it so far. Guess I’ll look Disco on PS5 instead. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve not played Planescape before, but I’ll check it out.
Trying to play some dying light and actually get hooked on it. I'm having a so-so time with it thus far. Doesn't seem like the game I've heard so much about just yet.
Also playing harmony of Dissonance alot.
Edit: annnnnnd a little Re4
@GingerNinja Blasphemous, Metroid Dread and the Oris are just fantastic, as much as Hollow Knight. Apart from those, I recommend you Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom and SteamWorld Dig 2 (no need to play the first). Those are fantastic games too. Astalon is pretty good as well, but the graphics are a bit of a letdown, imo.
Also you can try Bloodstained (good game if you like that 3D environment and a lot of talking... I didn't XD), Record of the Lodoss War (a pretty good Castlevania but fairly short), or Ender Lillies (good game but waaaay to hard for me).
I still have to try Tails of Iron and Axiom Verge 2. Some people say they are great too.
Finished Metroid Dread this week now starting on Tales of Arise. Fun, little wordy like most JRPG, environments are kind of last generation with good paint, but still having fun.
@the_beaver Axiom Verge 2 is definitely great.
Alternating between Blasphemous and Mario Odyssey, just to mix it up a bit. Once the violence, body horror and oppressive sense of evil get too much, I go back to Blasphemous, etc. etc..
I’ll throw in some Smash Bros to finally try out Sora. And still at the very beginning put I got a play through with Pokémon Sword. Also feeling really old school. With all this Sega Genesis talk on the Switch subscription as of late as me in the mood for the Sega Genesis Mini.
Earlier this week I finished Metroid Dread and it was awesome! Now I'm continuing Final Fantasy IX this weekend!
Mostly just more Luigi's Mansion 3 on my Switch - currently on the same floor highlighted in one of the E3 Treehouse segments back in 2019 - and I may also start Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope if I find the time.
I'll also dive into a little Pokemon Go here and there to continue with the Halloween event. I still haven't found a Phantump....
Happy gaming!
cruisin blast ....tetris effect connected and some layton on ds
I finished Metroid Dread on Monday night (10h 16m in game, 20h on the switch clock — I died a lot). Wow what a great game. I was going to resist going back and playing older Metroid games right away since I figured it’d be tough to play earlier entries in the series after such awesome modern entry.
However, I started Zero Mission (which I never played before) on Wii U and I am enjoying it. It is fun to see the Mother Brain room that the “core”/ omega cannon rooms in Dread were apparently referencing.
In the past I’ve not been one to replay games, but I think I will replay Dread soon. I was considering going back to collect all the items, but that ended up seeming kind of tedious to me.
Not a lot of time this weekend, but I'll continue Rogue Legacy: Ruins of Tasos and probably play some Tetris Effect. Both very good games.
FFXIV, with some Animal Crossing New Horizons on the side.
I've been playing a lot of The Outer Worlds. It is fantastic, I'm really enjoying it so far. I wanted Fallout 3 or Fallout NV (which was also made by Obsidian) on Switch and I think this is closest I'm going to get. I've heard it's kinda broken, but so far it's been fine.
Metroid Dread will be the main focus with some Animal crossing and smash bros mixed in. Enjoy the weekend!
If My Heart Had Wings and Monika Before Story
Metroid Dread, Road 96, Eastward, Tetris Effect, Mappy
I’m on the last boss in Dread…I’ll do the broken record thing and confirm “ it’s an amazing game!!”. Thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, Samus should be a more celebrated character in gaming.
There’s been a ton of Splatoon 2 recently in my house so I might get in on that. Recently copped that Senna Forever DLC so Horizon Chase Turbo could get some love too! Other than that The Backlog will be tackled as well some Sunday football NFL and EPL of course!
@The_Pixel_King
I have Disco Elysium but yet to play it. The developers recently tweeted out they are working on patches so I imagine the bugs should be fixed shortly. From what I’ve heard the Switch port is still well done, I’ll boot it up once that patch is released.
@TheRenegade908
Eh! This sounds about right! Got pretty much the same games lined up this weekend. I’ve been wanting to get back into MH Rise, still a ton of content to unlock! Cheers to ya!
@Allspice
Great to hear …Outer Worlds is a victim of my backlog, really glad to hear the Switch version isn’t the initial disaster it was at launch. Looks like an interesting game, might have to keep an eye on some DLC sales! Have a good one! Oh and thanks for reminding me to put Allspice on the grocery list ..as we’ve been out lol
Wish everyone a very happy and healthy weekend!
Oh yeah will anyone be upgrading to the online expansion ?
@fafonio Ow man! Harsh!
@Lilmonix3 Nice username 😏
@Allspice I've been wanting Fallout 3 Remastered for years! Here they've ported and Remastered Skyrim on everything but the only way I can play Fallout 3 is on my PS3. It's ridiculous, lol
Picked up Creaks on sale, I loved Machinarium so looking forward to giving it a go. probably also play a bit of RE2 (gamecube version).
Trying to 100% Metroid
I just got to Metroid Dread’s final boss and holy cow has this game been a ride. Absolutely so glad I took a leap of faith into a game I wasn’t sure I’d like; Metroid Dread is one of my favorite Switch experiences now.
I’ve also been trying to level up my Fortnite battle pass, and I’ve been squeezing a few Picross S puzzles and a few Rivals of Aether matches in here and there.
Yall have a great weekend!
Been really enjoying The Great Ace Attorney: Resolve, on the 3rd case and it’s shaping up to be very interesting. Also working my way slowly through Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as well as Metroid Dread, I don’t want those shorter games to be over already!
Starting my second run in Metroid Dread, and continuing Batman: Arkham Knight, tho it crashed on the second Riddler challenge hahaha.
Metroid Dread, Smash Bros Ultimate, Tetris Effect: Connected and Dying Light. It’s going to be a fun weekend 😁
I'm playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition on my Series X. Holds up shockingly well at 4K 120fps and super fast loading times.
Started to play dying light. It’s incredible they could make it to switch. But the game have a bug, yesterday i could play co op with my friend, today we both get connection lost no matter what. That’s a shame.
Just doing some shiny breeding in Pokemon Shield.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Tetris Effect: Connected is such a vibe. Grab your headphones and get into the "zone".
Dread, currently getting my butt kicked by a purple flying creature that looks like it belongs in MP2 Echoes, brilliant game!
Resident Evil 2 (N64) - I've made it into the lab and helping Ada Wong.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Back to playing the daily challenges.
Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows Phone) - Starting on the candy levels.
@Donutsavant I hope that you enjoy DQ7. It is one of the best games I have ever played.
Metroid Dread, and continuing my playthrough of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Playing Richter mode now.
Almost finished with Links Awakening. Continuing with Luigis Mansion with my kids. My island in ACNH gets some attention, too. Maybe a little bit of Axiom Verge in between.
@The_Pixel_King
Yeah, NVC right at the end there.
@FatWormBlowsASparky I was watching it on YouTube last night, but had to stop right as they were about to discuss what they’ve been playing. I’ll finish it off tonight. I’m glad Seth Macey has taken over the reins as host now. He’s quite the entertainer. Though I still prefer it when they include Peer and Brian Altano on the podcast.
I might play some Rayman 1 on PS3
@geox30 Days Gone is so underrated! A couple parts felt like it dragged but overall really liked the world that they built.
@Link41x oh man I hadn’t even thought about playing the N64 version, have you played the remake yet? Awesome choices for games btw, very exciting weekend!
@ItsATM
Haven't finished the game, but I find it totally immersive and atmospheric, story wise and the characters they created. Mechanically is great too. Don't understand the underappreciation it gets.
Animal Crossing and Castlevania AC. Maybe some Outlast.
Luigis mansion 3, mario golf
@claybirds
Hate that kid
@Gwynbleidd what did you think of Okami? I recently was looking at my picture album and saw some Okami pics. I really liked the game.
With 17 hours into Blue Fire, i am about to quit. The difficulty spike with the first of the end bosses (Samual?) is too much. I have been doing well in the game so far, and i will watch playthroughs to see if I am making some silly mistake. But after many attempts to only get the boss to 1/2 hp, argh! But, i am greatly enjoying Burnout Paradise, that game is crazy fun. And: RL, ACNH, Townscaper.
Happy gaming everyone!
Grabbed a few games from the Capcom Arcade Stadium and it reminded me just how unforgiving arcade games were back in the day Progear is so good though!
Also playing through Quake (had no idea how big this game was!), and Doom 3’s expansion. Really wish Doom 3 had gyro…
Oh and I bought FIFA22, because I’m a mug and couldn’t stand the incorrect faces on the up-and-coming players from my copy of FIFA19 like Greenwood and Sancho. Managed to get the cart new for a steal, but still feel like I need a shower!
All Mechstermination Force for me.

Yeah that’d be my preferred lineup too. I really like Casey, Jonathon and Zach as well. It’s a great show definitely.
I’m also a huge fan of Back Pocket, they’re on YouTube and have a podcast. Highly recommend.
DEATHSTATE - if you like roguelite and twin stick style shooting with occult themes
As a Nintendo noob who only received a Switch for my birthday a few weeks ago I’m currently playing through the likes of Mario, Zelda and Metroid. Mario was fantastic though kinda average overall with unimaginative bosses that were overused. Meanwhile Luigi’s Mansion was an absolute joy and personally I found it far better than Mario with exquisite graphics and animation, some really fun bosses and creative and well hidden secrets. Completed that last night but would happily replay though I’m back to Metroid and Zelda for now with DK on the side. But hey, with my PS5 and lifelong film obsession there’s a never ending stream of things to play and watch so this weekend will be a random mishmash of whatever my mind can handle! Oh, and any Nintendo recommendations are greatly welcomed though if they’re cross platform I’ll go for PS5 …
Congratulations on your birthday and getting a switch. Welcome!
Finished and 100%ed MD- tempted to jump straight back in with either hard mode or speed run normal mode
I actually started playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore.
So far I really like it. It reminds me A LOT of Persona 4 but revolves around the idol music industry instead of a TV world. But yeah, it's basically Persona 4 but Fire Emblem shadow characters instead of Personas.
Basically you don't need to know anything about Fire Emblem and if you want a Persona game on Switch well, apparently Atlus already made one and forgot to tell us.
I am not sure if I will be playing any video games this weekend or not. I have been watching a lot of TV shows on Netflix recently and have been enjoying that. I am kind of waiting for the new Mario Party game to be released before I delve back into any more gaming time.
Now look at me. A misery-clad simian, barely able to tie my own laces. My armpits are lakes, a scythe of booze precedes me. My hair sticks to my forehead and my underwear feels uncomfortable...I am stuck in a strange Disco Elysium.
After beating Dread last weekend, I wasn’t ready to bid Samus goodbye, so I just finished my first play through of Fusion. It was great, and I’m happy to remove it from my backlog, but Dread and Super are absolutely the pinnacle of the series. Prime 1 is a close third for me.
I finally finished Case 1 of Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and it was awesome. I want to get started on Case 2 this weekend, and also get back to Monster Hunter Stories 2, because I've really ignored it ever since I got Shadowverse: Champion's Battle. My copy of Caligula Effect 2 also came in today so I'm excited to give that a go!
Personally, I'm getting back into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Its a nice daily break from the worries and struggles of everyday life.
