Hello everyone! Hope you're all keeping well. I've caved, guys... I bought Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. I saw everyone online praising it left, right, and centre, and… well, such is the power of FOMO. So that's my plan, anyway! I'm looking forward to diving back into the main game, even though I've already rinsed it a few times…
Elsewhere, I'll be replaying a few smaller titles like Thumper, Thimbleweed Park, and Oxenfree. I've spent so much time recently on huge, sweeping games, so it'll be nice to just kick back and not worry about investing hours upon hours on one title.

Hello. I’ve come over all Zelda in the past few days, no doubt due to Wednesday’s Direct announcement of Skyward Sword HD, and so I’ll be digging into a few of Link’s adventures this weekend starting with A Link Between Worlds on 2DS. I should also probably jump back into Breath of the Wild as I, rather shamefully, have yet to actually get my hands on the Master Sword, having foolishly decided to beat the game without it first time around.
Elsewhere, I’m also still blasting my way through Bowser’s Fury, which I’m having a great time with, and have very stupidly reinstalled Divinity Original Sin 2 for a replay, a game that has already munched through hundreds of hours of my life and shows no signs of releasing me from its vice-like grip any time soon. Have fun whatever you’re doing or playing this weekend and stay safe out there!

I'm going to start off by breaking the rules a bit, and telling you what I definitely haven't been playing (and should): Ring Fit Adventure. It's been a while since I've given Dragaux his just deserts, but in the meantime I've been eating... just desserts. I've been busy! Leave me alone!
As to what I have been playing, it's been a lot of Haven, a bit of Heaven's Vault (it's one of those games where I want to find everything, so it takes a while), and Astrologaster. A mixed bag, for sure. One is a romantic adventure, one is an archaeological history-mystery, and one is, er, a Shakespearean musical about untrustworthy plague doctors. I've been ignoring Animal Crossing's new Festivale stuff because it sounds hard, and I think I have New Horizons fatigue still. But it's only a month-ish until the new Story of Seasons comes out...
I don't usually talk about what I'm playing on my not-Switch, but I really want everyone to think I'm cool, so I'm also playing Valheim (along with at least 3 million others). I punched a tree and it fell on me and I died. It's pretty fantastic.
Liam Doolan, news reporter
It's more Super Mario 3D World for me this weekend (I'm done with Bowser's Fury). Apart from this, I'll be spending some quality time with SNK VS. Capcom: The Match of the Millenium. It's been a blast so far and has more depth to it than I expected for a handheld fighting game dating back to 1999.
Oh, and if I get any extra time I'll make sure to check out the new Nintendo Switch Online releases. I'll probably take a look at Psycho Dream, Solomon's Key II and Shin Megami Tensei II. Happy gaming, everyone!
Alex Olney, senior video producer
I've got the wonderful task of installing some skirting board which is going to take up a good chunk of time, but in-between awkward adhesives and caulking up all my mistakes, I'm definitely going to be dipping into some Cathedral. It's a lovely little game that's been driving me bananas so when I've had enough of dying to the same thing multiple times over I'll likely jump into a spot of Blue Fire.
And who knows? Maybe I'll go completely bonkers and fire up the hulking great Xbox One and dabble in a bit of The Master Chief Collection, even though I should really get back into Ghost of Tsushima, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Red Dead Redemption II, DOOM Eternal, and the obligatory addition to my 495 hours in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
It's not a backlog problem if I don't look directly at it.

A radical GameCube weekend with a combo of Wave Race: Blue Storm and 1080º Avalanche awaits! A bit more of Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury, a lot of broken bones and egos in Wrestling Empire, Jaleco’s Cybattler, and the conclusion of Haven should do nicely on Switch before the oppression of Monday returns.
I’m cheating in my game of the week this time since Capcom Arcade Stadium features 32 of them. Not a single bad game in there either, a feature-heavy deluxe package with incredible presentation and is truly the best way to prepare for next week's arrival of Arthur’s new adventure. The bar on what to expect from retro gaming emulation for the Switch has reached a new high.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

About half way through Atelier Ryza 2 and having a great time so I'll continue focusing on that until I finish it. Also been playing a little bit of Groove Coaster on the side for the new Vocaloid DLC pack that came out this week.
Diablo 3! I am hyped that D2 is coming and can’t resist slaying monsters and demons...
Stay a while and listen....
I'm mainly focusing on Disgaea 4 Complete+ this weekend because I'm trying to play all 3 of the games on switch before Disgaea 6 comes out in the summer. I'm having such a blast with the series! Besides that, I'll probably play a little bit of Ys VIII because I'm also trying to finish that before Monstrum Nox comes to switch.
I am still slowly working my way through Horace and xenogears.
This weekend i played : 😀
1. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival Wii U
2. New Super Mario Bros. U Wii U
3. Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 PS2 USA
I continued to leveling up my four Animal Crossing Amiibo figurines (Kicks, Isabelle, Digby and Rover) by playing Board game until the last day of the month i chose.
I have reached Desert world for New Super Mario Bros. U.
I started over again from beginning for DDR Extreme 2 PS2 as my Save Data has been corrupted several months ago and i have reached Area C for Mission mode on DDR Extreme 2.
This week I will be mostly playing
Bowser’s Fury
New Horizons
Probably just Super Mario 3D World and Overcooked 2 on Switch.
Got a new PC and setting up Retroarch on that to try some games I missed out on and play some Crystal Kingdom Dizzy on a C64 emulator. 😃
@Anti-Matter different
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
Thps 1&2 remastered. Shame it hasn’t come to switch I guess it might do one day. Maybe finish halo 2 seems a bit buggy what I’ve played so far and I’ll also be back on Mario at some point
For the first time since Xmas I will stop playing Age of Calamity. I’m nearly finished with it but after this week’s direct I want to get back to Xenoblade 2.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Resident Evil Revelations 2.
Started working on Starfox Assault which I bought for myself last christmas, right now I really wish the game was just arwing rail shooting like the other games because the onfoot missions are so clunky, and even moreso when you have to pilot the tank. Great music on this one though and it's admittedly fun to see the Starfox characters on a storyline that's not just Starfox/64/Zero story all over again.
Also low-key addicted on Slay the Spire still, I've already beaten the true ending but I'll probably still play it some more.
Been playing Valheim on PC, it's a bit like Breath of The Wild crossed with something like Minecraft and I've had a lot of fun with it
Some Crypt of the NecroDancer, The Messenger and probably Trials of Mana for Switch
PS5 is mostly Kingdom Hearts 3
Halfway through my first ever playthrough of Doom 2, which plays delightfully well after all these years, aiming to get to map 22 by Sunday night. And might chip off a bit more of The sWitcher too.
I 100% Super Mario Galaxy over the last week and finally played Donut County. I feel like playing Luigi's Mansion 3 again, but at the moment my free time is spent reading the Zelda Manga's and re-watching The Office.
Trying some of the stuff obtained last night, possibly including a fresh save file of Civilization VI to see how the expansions make a mark (lest my perennially ongoing Cleopatra session should not support the changes), but I have more plans and itches for the rest of the library - plans for Saints Row, Starlink, Dust, Bioshock and Evoland (plus other platform routines like Spirit of Justice and God Eater, of course), itches for a lot of my JRPG backlog including Arc of Alchemist, Mary Skelter, Nelke, Final Fantasy XII... as usual, only time will tell how much of it I'll actually visit over the weekend, but I continue to suffer from clinical inability to relate to the fandom's "announce more games, Nintendo, we have nothing left to play!" buzz.😅
Got up to summoning stone 5 on undermine this week. Soo I might delve in to the “Othermine” for the first time. That and playing Mario 3D world. Loving it soo far... on world 6. Happy weekend all.
Three houses DLC
Mario Fury
Finished Mario 3 yesterday (for the 100th time) and will probably play some Grandia 1 and Resident Evil 2 remake
Persona 5 Strikers in PS5...I was lucky to buy the digital Edition so got to start early. It's absolutely fantastic and even better that it feels like a direct sequel rather than a spin off.Loving it...Haru for best girl.
Fenix Rising also on PS5...30 hours in and still have tons to do.Beautiful looking game.I wish more games looked like this.
On PS4 I'm still playing Nelke And The Legendary Alchemists...for some reason I can't stop playing this game despite not enjoying it much..
Animal Crossing and Story Of Seasons on Switch.
I've been mostly playing Super Mario 3D World on Switch, with a little MGS Twin Snakes on my GameCube. I think I'll finally try out Bowser's Fury soon. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Will be trying out the Triangle Strategy demo really looking forward to it. Have high hopes for it.
Also some Bravely Default almost at the end right now.. On PS4 Persona 5 Royal a bit..
I was considering to get the Grandia collection reallya wanted to play part 2 again but I didn't do it Bravely Default 2 and P5 Strikers are coming out next week so rather not add stuff to my backlog
FFXIV on pc and Persona 5 strikers on PS5.
Nothing on switch but I am tempted to pick up ring fit adventure
On Switch: SNKvCapcom MoM. So great to have such an amazing handheld fighter see the light of day again. It holds up phenomenally too.
I'll mainly be on PC when possible tho: Valheims 3million sales in as many weeks, claimed me as well. Such a fantastic game, that puts many of its peers to shame. Ill sneak in a few runs with Ultimate ADOM too. Never thought I'd see an ADOM sequel, and so far, so good.
Have a week off, so I plan on alternating between a few games. Will probably be playing the Zelda Oracle games and Destroy All Humans, then when my copy arrives, Persona 5 Strikers.
BotW and Stardew Valley for me. Loving the 1.5 Update!
Fantastic dessert joke, Kate.
I finally got to the (supposedly) final battle in Atelier Ryza yesterday and felt like I ran full speed into a brick wall. I thought I was overleveled by now since I'm slaying ordinary monsters with one or two hits, but this boss shredded my whole party in about 30 seconds. It's possible I might have to do some grinding.
But not today. A few days ago I bought a PS4 Pro from a friend, and after much hemming and hawing I settled on Horizon Zero Dawn as my first game on a Sony console since the original Playstation days. Bought it yesterday for $20 as it's part of the PS Hits collection (please note, Nintendo, that's called a sale) and spent my first hour or so with Aloy and her incredibly detailed environments. It looks amazing, and I'll spend at least a few hours on it today until my 12-year-old starts with the inevitable whining about wanting to play Fortnite on the PS4 and I give in because hey, I get it.
I'll also be doing some RFA today. I've really been slacking lately and it shows, unfortunately. So I got in a half-hour of workout time yesterday and hope for another session this afternoon.
Bowser’s Fury and Kirby Star Allies; I miss Kine and want to see him.
The local coop main event is SM3DW , 100% so far going into W5. I’m still working my way through Bowsers Fury solo.
Just slowly making my way through Cyber Shadow (stage 6) and Horace (C11) - I like these games, I want to complete them, but man is there still a long and difficult road ahead lol.
Finally there’s Need For Speed which I’m really enjoying playing through again after all these years and I’ll be picking up the Blizzard collection primarily for R&RR.
Guilty Gear Strive Beta.
@JasmineDragon Nice! I just recently bought Horizon Zero Dawn on sale too. Looking forward to playing it soon!
Just at the final stage on World Flower on Mario 3D World. Assuming that's the last stage, then I'm excited to reward myself with the awesome looking Bowser's Fury. Also hoping to spend some time on SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium
if i can stop it crashing/freezing/other random issues, probably modded Skyrim and maybe some randomized pokemon
I sound like a broken record but... Stardew Valley! I don’t even think I’m halfway through the new stuff added in this latest patch and it’s been out over a week.
Ori and the Will o the Wisps, absolutely fantastic game! I am 20 hours in and I hope it never stops.
Super Mario 3D World with my daughter, which is fun and we both are enjoying it.
Rocket League and I will go back to New Horizons for Mr. K.K. on Saturday night. But, I have stopped playing New Horizons every day. After 400 hours and almost a year, I can absolutely say that New Horizons and BotW are tied for best game ever.
Shockingly, I've managed to complete a few games over the last couple of weeks. I completed the two Puyo Puyo Tetrises, Super Mario 3D World (barring the last two super hard levels), and just today, I've finally beat L.A. Noire (and what an ending).
I'm really wanting to play Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy, though I should probably finish the 3DS Layton games first (I haven't touched my 3DS in a good long while now).
@nhSnork I will never, ever understand how people can say there aren't enough games on the Switch. I could stop buying games today and still have enough games to play through the rest of the Switch's life cycle. And I won't be stopping, because I've already ordered P5 Strikers and have marked several other upcoming titles as must-buys.
Rock and Stone!
Animal Crossing. Mario maker 2. I am in the process of making my second game. I made 1 40 stage game, in the NSMBU style. and now a 40 level stage in the 3D world style. I am busy!
I had been planning on Capcom Arcade Stadium but I’ve been reading about slowdown and flickering issues on some of the shm’ups I wanted to play and thus may wait a bit. It got to the point I was starting to wonder if concentrating on Switch shm’ups over PS4’s was a good idea. Then I remember about the PS4’s 3rd party pad restrictions.
Instead, I think I’ll head back to Radiant Historia on the 3DS with occasional return to Mario 3D World.
I've been watching Hi Score Girl this week and now I'm yearning for some PC Engine and SFII action, so that's what I'll be doing this evening!
@lovesushi Yes so excited for Diablo II!!!
Dragon Quest XI, it’s my first one and it’s amazing!
I'm on my 4th playthrough of Hollow Knight.
Also playing Mario 3D World with the kids.
Age of Calamity. I'm still being a completionist and playing every level at every difficulty.
Finished off 3D World + Bowser's Fury early this week (both with 100% completion but with 1 character instead of 5 for 3D World) so back to XB1. I miss Switch being my primary console.
Gonna finally beat the rank 1 boss in No More Heroes 1
Tonight I'll be playing Episode Ardyn from the FFXV dlc. Then I'll be done with FFXV.
I'll also be playing Pokémon Crystal and TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds on 2DS when I get the chance.
LONELY. MOUNTAINS. DOWNHILL!
Maybe, this is a game send from heaven to just appeal to me and four other people on this planet, the way that it does. But for me, this game is nearly flawless.
It's "Trials" meets "Dirt Rally", but with mountain bikes and a heavy emphasis on exploration plus a good portion of chill. There's nothing quiet like it and it absolutely baffles me how this could have been executed so perfectly on first try.
Words can't describe how much this game hits every right note for me. I haven't loved a "racing" game this much, since "Wave Race 64/Blue Storm".
I'm insanely addicted to it. So, I'll probably play not much else.
Finished the main story of 3D World last night. Loved it! Can't wait to play Bowser's Fury this weekend. Have a good one folks!
Had monster hunter world for a while played the last few days and really enjoying xxx
Capcom Arcade Stadium and Yakuza Kiwami 2!
More Super Mario 3D World for me. Plus I still need to start Cyber Shadow and Cathedral... but which one first? Yeah, probably more 3D World..!!
@realityxaidan Yeah, I need to finish Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, too! I find it looks awful in handheld, but quite lush on the TV. Or is it just me?
Dragon Quest Builders 2 on Switch.
Final Fantasy 12 on Xbox.
Umm triangle strategy demo?
Persona 5 Strikers
Super Mario 3D World/Bowsers Fury
Undermine
Roundguard
Still going strong on Hades, got the epilogue but still have a few friendship/romances to complete.
Started yesterday dragon age 2 and so far I am enjoying it. Not sure why it is so hated as it looks fairly similar to the first one
The Splatoon 3 announcement made me jump back into the second game. It's time it takes back the place as my most played game from ACNH. It's the only game I've EVER played I would acknowledge as being addicted to. Here's hoping the new instalment will be just as good. For now I seem to be a bit rusty.
I play haven and sally face. I wonder why none of them have reviews here...
Last weekend I cleared out the vast majority of 3D World on Switch, getting all the green stars and stamps (except the ones on Champion's Road) and completing all the levels (again, except Champion's Road) with Peach, Toad, and Rosalina. I'm just starting the Bowser World now with Luigi and then I'll do one final pass through with Mario. Then I'll do Champion's Road with each character. Phew!
Giving LA Noire another chance since I tried the original. The new Good Cop/Bad Cop system works much better, I have more appreciation for what the game does well. Will complete it this time!
It’s been one crazy cold week here in Texas. Managed to make it through. Just gonna be on the chill. Yakuza Like a Dragon on PS4 for the most part. Super Mario 3D World and the Capcom Arcade Stadium on Switch.
Come off it! I know you're all locked away playing gal gun.
I've been playing Ori and the Blind Forest, it's beautiful, but I think I'm gonna give up. I've never played a game that tried so hard to kill me! It's depressing
ive been playing 3 D W O R L D
Ryza 2 and Fuser with some Rock Band 4.
Stardew Valley Beach Farm
Stardew Valley! Just enjoying a relaxing life of farming and mingling with the townsfolk.
Picked up a Switch this week because I moved from PlayStation due to reasons and I didn't want to wait until NewSwitchXL anymore. That would have meant at least a full year without games! What sad life would that be?!
So... Currently playing Mario 3D World. Of course with all stars, stamps and poles. I was a trophy huntress, and old habits die hard. I don't think I'm going to complete it this weekend (Or maybe I do. Currently in the Bowser world.). But afterwards I would play Bowsers Fury. And then Breath of the Wild. Yeah, I'm a bit late to the party...
Wordament (Droid) - Playing nightly while the wife or kids has the living room tv.
Angry Birds Stella (Windows Phone) - On the last few levels now.
Fruit Ninja (Windows Phone) - Just starting on this classic again.
Transistor all weekend.
Playing Tales of Xillia on PS3. Very tempted to play 3D World instead though. Might do a bit of both.
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw all weekend. Gotta be a space cowboy.
I’m doing some mario golf gevisits after this week.. jusr did a bit of toadstool tour... will get the 3ds out later..
mario 3d wörld and some switcher blood n wine
I've finished some smaller titles over the last week in anticipation of bravely default 2. So I really don't wana start anything too big before next week. On switch I might further my playthrough of AC Rogue. On wii u I might start up a new file and try to complete woolly world since I really only played with my little guy. My big game I'm trekking through is Paper Mario Sticker Star. It has some odd choices but it's not the dumpster fire people make it out to be.
Oh and a little ghosts n goblins on arcade stadium
Just modded terraria, maybe a bit of minecraft. I'd love to replay 3d world, but with my income right now I won't be able to afford a port for a while.
Mario 3D World. Both co op with the kids and on my own. Really enjoying the variety of stages in this game. I got to the 7th World (castle world?) on my own save file last night. I started out the first few worlds trying to collect all 3 stars, the stamp and the golden flag before moving on even if it meant repeating the same stage a few times. I kind of backed off on that around world 3 or 4. I still try to collect them but I usually move on if I don’t. I’ll probably go back for them eventually. I feel like 3D World and 3D Land have just the right amount of collectables.
Probably some Bowser’s Fury with the kids as well
Finally finished A Link To The Past this week so maybe I’ll start Link’s Awakening DX on 3DS VC at some point.
I’ll be finishing up Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
Started the Project Triangle Strategy demo last night. Beautiful game that needs some touch ups. Besides that just the usual Splatoon 2, Animal Crossing New Horizons and Civilization VI.
Have a good weekend everyone.
I'm playing Fenyx rising and PGA 2K21. Might dip into some streets of rage 4 at some point.
I started a new farm in Stardew Valley after the recent update and I'm pretty hooked again so I'll be playing lots of that. I'm also going to collect the remaining green stars in 3D World.
Persona 5 strikers non stop all weekend
Keeping it short:
Have a great weekend! Stay safe, and happy gaming!
I am playing the Bioshock Collection, Paper Mario The Origami King, and Animal Crossing New Horizons! 3 great games on Nintendo Switch!
@realityxaidan do you have a favourite Disgaea ?
Immortals Fenyx Rising.
I'm playing Super Mario Sunshine this weekend. I tried it back in September and the uninverted FLUDD controls just killed it for me! But now that they give you the option to change it I really got into it.
Rocket League and some Mario 3D World.
@dugan I've been in Plat 1 for a while, but I've started getting better with backwall defense and aerials off walls to hit the the ball. We'll see if that's enough for me to break into Plat 2 or higher. It's also possible I need more improvement than that to rank up
I am in the midst of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Finally giving Octopath Traveller the attention it deserves. There's also a bit of Skyrim sprinkled in.
@I_commented
Oh man I love Prime 2. Prime 1 had the better planet and upgrades, but Prime 2 just knocks it out of the park with the eerie isolation and Dark Aether was so awesome
Finally getting around to links awakening which is fun so far. Ring fit adventure as well (even if only a bit)
Ori 2, Capcom Stadium Arcade
A bit of Ghost of Tsushima and on my last divine beast in BOTW!
Me and my boy have just finished off Good Job, such a brilliant fun coop game. Had a lot of laughs playing that. On PS5 been going through WRC9, brilliant use of the dualsense but such a hard driving game.
@Meehanuk The Mario Switch is so adorably fugly, really cute ...in a sense. :3 The Animal Crossing version is the queen under the Switches, and currently around 450 Euro... But, oh well, at least our Switches aren't grey. It's something!
@Altina To play Breath of the Wild for the very first time again... I'm a little jealous. Good luck trying to complete that game. Congrats on your new Switch and I hope you're enjoying it very much.
It's going to be Outer Worlds, FF9, and Overwatch with friends for me. I did pick up Jenny LeClue on sale and will probably put in some time on that too. I recommend for those that like murder mystery adventure games.
Happy gaming y'all.
Link's awakening, animal crossing and smw3d.
@shining_nexus Thanks. :3 I came here with the intend to stay... eheheh... Oh well, right now I'm playing Mario. I want to wait until I have the Expansion Pass before I'm going to start BotW.
Also not sure if I should get the Pro controller. Everyone seems to love it, but the doggy controller seems to be good enough for me. Don't know what to do about that.
Doom Eternal, Scott Pilgrim and Smash Bros. Ultimate with the kids, and maybe Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC.
started playing Saints Row 3 Full package for my Nintendo Switch Lite. Been doing little bit of main story missions while mostly driving around "unlocking" the other area territories and trying to find some of the first couple of collectibles which I mostly found the cash boxes. Cant remember where some of the sex dolls are on the ground though.
also did the first mission for the weird movie filming alien action which was fun
Paper Mario O K for half an hour or more if my staffie will allow me????!!!
While anxiously waiting for Mario Golf, I decided it was the perfect time for Mario Tennis Aces.
I'm going to spend some time playing Mario Golf: World Tour more on my Nintendo 3DS. It's been a while since I've touched the game and I want to get some practice in so I'll be ready for Mario Golf: Super Rush. I am also planning to play Smash 3DS, Pilotwings Resort, Kirby Mass Attack, as well as many other DS and 3DS titles.
Mario Galaxy (during the day), Night in the Woods (at night). Didn’t expect to have even more fun with Galaxy, then I did back in the day. Especially after playing Odyssey. Night in the Woods is like watching a quirky, indie movie unfold. Also, like getting comfortable with a good book. Those are the reasons why I enjoy it at night. It provides feeling of intimacy I can’t get in the daytime. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
I'm gonna try and finish Cyber Shadow but dang the back half of that game is tough. Also revisiting Blasphemous for the Bloodstained RotN crossover update
I went ahead and ran through Psycho Dream, dabbling in 1943 via the Capcom Arcade Collection, hitting up the Project Triangle demo, and jeez... I will finally download Blasphemous to round things out.
Probably Splatoon and Rocket League with mates online on Switch. And Jedi Fallen Order and PGA 2K21 elsewhere.
Started playing Gris last night (for realsies this time), so I'm going to continue playing that. May also put some time into Splatoon 2.
@Altina
Why'd you ditch PlayStation??
Ori and the Will of the Wisps for me.
@The_Pixel_King Yeah, the water looks especially rough in handheld mode, but I haven't had any performance issues so I don't mind a little jankiness. Still a really fun game to me.
@zool I've only played 1 and 4 so far, but I definitely recommend starting at 1, because even going from 1 to 4 was a bit of a learning curve for me. Both games have great casts though, so you really can't go wrong regardless!
Almost done with SMT1 and then after that I’ll be finally finishing xenoblade 2, very excited. Gotta clear those two from my backlog before strikers comes out Tuesday!
I will be playing a lot of Splatoon 2, focusing on the single-player levels. I have 50 hours in and STILL haven't completed it because most of the time I've been playing online especially with ranked battles. Also, I haven't even touched the Octo expansion yet which I own! Other than that, I will definitely be playing Super Mario Bros. 35, it's quite addictive though!
Lego DC villains with my girlfriend and Borderlands 2/ Xenoblade Definitive edition
Honestly, so far I've only really played Final Fantasy XII this past week. Occasionally I'll pop in Animal Crossing and I went back to Xenoblade 2 for a little bit since Pyra got added to smash! Haven't beaten any new games though.
@Altina Glad you're here to stay! We could use more weirdos around here.
3D World is actually one of my favorite Mario games. I completed and collected everything on the Wii U version (except for maybe the flag poles. I thought it was silly to finish the stage with every character) and I'm currently playing the Switch version with my niece and brother. It's a blast to play with others and will definitely create memorable moments, like throwing my brother off the stage so I can get the green star first or killing him with the canon ball power up while in a boss fight because I'm an a-hole.
The doggy controller works fine for most games for sure. I eventually caved in and got a pro controller because the buttons and analog stick on the joy cons weren't optimal for me on shooters. I mostly play with joy cons in handheld and with games that don't require pinpoint accuracy, like turn based RPGs. I did get the Hori Pro Pad joy cons, which are essentially a pro controller joy cons, to play Overwatch in handheld and it works wonders.
My kids are loving Mario 3d world on the wii u. Saving 60 bucks for the win!
@Meehanuk @Altina I changed the back cover of my launch Switch with a replica of the special edition Dragon Quest 11 cover. Don't have the DQ joy cons unfortunately, but I do have both neon red joy cons. Looks pretty slick and I'm so happy with it.
@realityxaidan I have five but have not really got into it yet.
@Anti-Matter i didnt think anyone played amiibo festival still, kinda interesting
@FluffiestP1llow
It wasn't really bad game actually.
I like the Board games as i have quite a lot Animal Crossing Amiibo figurines and some Amiibo cards to summon the villagers. I played Amiibo Festival for at least 1 hour to collect more than 100 musical notes for each player so after the Board game finished, each Amiibo figurines will collect more than 100 points to level up in order to get new outfits and new emotion.
And when i played Amiibo Festival, i take control All 4 players so No Competition at all as i want to level up All my Amiibo figurines at the same time. That means, i tried to make All Positive floors, Sell the Turnips on higest price as possible, etc.
I will not try to sabotage other players by intentionally gave them Negative floor, sell the turnip on the lowest price, etc because when you sabotage other players, it will lowering their points to level up.
This Weekend i'm playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons (saving my bells for the mario content.), and IdentityV (Promised Neverland content)
Person 5 Strikers!
@Anti-Matter eh I absolutely hated the game but its interesting that someone still plays it.
I'm gonna be playing Super Mario 3D All Stars, Breath of the Wild, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Animal Crossing New Horizons.
All the galgun articles made me crave a bit of 'fun' so i've been playing Moero Chronicle. I also noticed in one of the comment sections of this site that Nexomon added custom playthroughs with one of their updates (thankyou whoever that was) that enables you to pretty much do randomisers and nuzlockes among many other things, so I randomised the starters and am doing the first legit 'locke of my life in between rubbing adorable monster girls. Come on Pokemon how hard would it be to do this?!
@BenAV
The fact that they are still supporting this game gives me a big cheesy grin, will definitely grab this too come payday
Also I have to ask... Did you ever full chain/perfect that Super Neko song on hard and if so...HOW?!
@Phantom_Skye I don't have a Perfect on Hard but I have Full Chain/S++. I recall the start and end giving me a lot trouble when I first tried to Full Chain/S+ it but I guess I just got a lot better at the game because I can manage it now, haha.
@BenAV
Oh lordie you are on another level
I'm still at the point where that massively outclasses me and i have no idea how I'm going to overcome it XD but hey i thought that about many songs at one point or another before i FC'd them. I am also only able to manage S+ and not S++ and i've never gotten a perfect even on easy but hey I'll get there one of these days XD especially if I imagine you were not a god at the game at the start (nah you probably were who am I kidding)
@Phantom_Skye Nah, I've just played a lot (380+ hours). It took me a fair while to get my first Perfect on Easy myself but now I can get a lot of Perfects on Hard. Still have only managed a couple on Master though.
@Art_Vandelay123 Oh no, do I really need to explain AGAIN why I left PlayStation? Last time I did I got called an anti-PS5 zealot, freak, that has no life and should grow up... Just because I like different things than them...
But oh, well, here we go again... As someone who mostly plays Japanese games I'm very unhappy with the decisions PlayStation made since the headquarter moved to California. If their stupid rules would at least apply to western games too, then it would be fair. But they don't. In western games you can murder (It's even hard to find a game that doesn't spill liters of blood every couple of meters...), have sex, torture, see nudes, in Cyberpunk you have sliders for your peenus and your tiddies, and random females ask you if you want them to make you harder than your childhood. In western games you even get rewarded with trophies/achievements for having sex... But when I HEADPAT a fully dressed female being in a Japanese game all the white crybaby hypocrites are losing their sh*t and tell me something about sexualization and pedophilia. I have no idea what people think JRPGs and VNs are about, but it's a bit scary how people seem to always think about sex (and are totally okay with violence.) Dunno, I have never seen nudes or sex in these myself? While in the west, eh, maybe I'm just unlucky with what western games I pick, but apparently sexualization isn't just normal but even the standard in western games. (But well, did you hear the story about the Ubisoft CEO? He harassed female employees, said that good girls earn their positions in a company with sex, and said that games with female protagonists wouldn't sell. Maybe he's right, because everyone lost their sh*t when Rockstar said you COULD, not must, COULD, play a woman in GTA6. LOL) Why does everything ever in the west need to be about violence and sex?? People even asked CD Projekt what positions you can have in the bed with someone else... pardon??
People need all this stupid sexual stuff in their Triple Meh bLockBuSteR games, but I get called an anti-PS5-zealot, freak, have no life and need to grow up, because western hypocrites are angry with me for headpatting a fully dressed drawing of a fictional girl in a Japanese game? I need to grow up because I don't want to have sex and too much violence in a videogame? How does anything of that even make sense?
However, that's why I'm with Nintendo now. Japan is pretty mad at Sony currently, because PlayStation is basically an American console these days. The only Japanese thing about PlayStation is the name Sony and that you can play Japanese games on it. (They even changed the X and O buttons on PS5 the western way on the Japanese version. Why?). And their stupid rules that are in summary basically simply "JAPAN BAD!!!1". Some devs said they are going to stop making games for PlayStation. A lot of games came or are going to come to Nintendo.
And Nintendo doesn't pretend to be my mom. Sorry, but now in my 30s I'm old enough to decide by myself if I can endure the CRUELTIY OF giving/receiving A HUG or a headpat... omg... I know, I know, that's really hardcore and waaay worse than bonking through all these western games as some stupid braindead alphamale...
That's an interesting post too:

PS: As a girl I'm feeling WAY more comfortable in Japanese games than in western games.
@shining_nexus Hmm... I was never thinking so much about controllers to be honest. Maybe driving would be kinda strange with the doggy controller. At least in third party titles. In Mario Kart you're still accelerating with... A, I think. Has been a while since I played Mario Kart. 7 on 3DS. And before that DoubleDash on Gamecube.
<sigh> ...Maybe I should get a Pro controller at some point.
Hm-hm! If you need more weirdos in your life I'm your girl. It's ridiculous how easy it's to be a weirdo for most people... I often wonder how boring and bitter a "normal" life must be. Or what "normal" even means, because in fact humans are individuals and thus being "normal" would be against our nature...
@Altina Double Dash was such a fun Mario Kart. I would like to see a sequel to DD and see how they expand on the 2 driver and character specific item mechanics. Heck, I would even pay $60 bucks for an updated remastered version. If you’re not in a hurry to get a pro controller, it might be better to wait and see if they release a special edition pro controller. Who knows, they may release a Trails Edition one. Unlikely, but that won’t stop us from dreaming!
IMO, normalcy is subjective to someone’s perspective of what normal is. I believe a lot of what this “normal” should be is being fed through mainstream media and celebrities. And that’s OK because it’s their perspective, but shunning people who think differently is wrong. In actuality, unique individuality is what normal is. Basically, we’re humans that are normal in our own way.
But yeah, I agree with you and weirdness rocks. I also added you on Switch. Username is currently junebot.
I'm playing hockey with a bunch of friends of mine this weekend.
Oh, you meant videogames? I'm playing "Cathedral", one of the best retro games of the past few years.
Mario 3D World and a Dash of BOTW and a sprinkle of Mario Kart and some Smash Bros
Alex.... those are ROOKIE NUMBERS for smash
