It's been a particularly crazy and busy week in the world of Nintendo, as you've no doubt noticed! The biggest event was undoubtedly Masahiro Sakurai's final presentation for Smash Ultimate which confirmed the arrival of Sora. There've been two huge arrivals; you can check out our Switch OLED hardware review and Metroid Dread review if you like. Other huge news was confirmation of GTA Trilogy for Switch, and silliness with the darn AAA Clock being a thing. Oh, and we showcased some awesome Indie games in our very own Nintendo Life Indie Spotlight.
So, deep breath. After all that it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Yes, I will be playing a lot of Metroid Dread, I'm bloomin' excited about it too! I did also fall into the Nintendo trap and get an OLED, mainly because I play in portable mode about 90% of the time. Old favourites I plan to try out briefly on the new screen include Okami HD, ASTRAL CHAIN and Streets of Rage 4, among others. And it's time for my annual playthrough of Resident Evil 4, so I'll kick that off.
Elsewhere I may give Scarlet Nexus a try, it looks delightfully silly and fun.

I'm either playing one single game with a laser-focus or I'm playing three different sprawling RPGs at the same time, and this week, it's the latter: Eastward, [REDACTED], and Ni No Kuni, which I picked up during the blockbuster sale for a pittance. I played the sequel, but I'm in awe of how different NNK 1 is from NNK 2. Different, and better, although they're both excellent.

It's here folks! Metroid Dread is finally a real thing, and it's actually here! It honestly feels so good to boot up a brand new Metroid game after what feels like decades of waiting, quite frankly. I can't wait to get stuck in properly and see how it all plays out.
That's pretty much it for me this weekend for the Switch, but I'm also working my way through Alan Wake Remastered on Xbox. I adore that game so much; with its Stephen King and Twin Peaks elements, it's like Remedy just said "right, how can we make a game specifically for Ollie?" Just wonderful stuff.

This weekend, I've got a hodgepodge of games I'll be playing: to start, you know I'll be picking up Metroid Dread like the rest of the world - SO excited. Then, WarioWare: Get It Together! still has a bit of a hold on me, so I'm sure I'll play a bit of that. Lastly, I've been getting back into games with fall/spoopy themes like the Scorpio I am - namely Stardew Valley and Luigi's Mansion 3 (but if any other Scorpios have suggestions of favorite fall games I should play, throw 'em in the comments!)
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

Am breaking off my playthrough of Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow to start Metroid Dread. It's pretty incredible to be playing both franchises in the same week! A true "Metroidvania" moment! Will also try to squeeze in some Wario Ware, as the current cup is a lot of fun. Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves.
Finished playing through ISLAND yesterday so figured I might as well get into Metroid Dread this weekend otherwise it'd probably end up in the backlog forever. Also checked out Tetris Effect.
Finished Paper Mario last week. Good game. Not great but enjoyable.
As it’s October I’ve decided to become a cliche player - I’m replaying Luigi’s Mansion. One thing that impresses me is Gooigi - a genius in-game mechanic.
Regarding Dread, it’s not my cup of tea but I’m happy for the Metroid fans out there. The more variety on Switch the better!
Yup, Dread of course.
Gonna mix in a little bit of Octo Expansion and try to finish up Borderlands Pre-Sequel, but yeah mostly Metroid for me.
I took a punt on a game called Dreaded Meteor or something. Hope it's good. Also playing Monkeyball and Cruisin'. October is awesome
Switch - Metroid Dread, baby!
PS5 - GTA Online with friends!
PC - Gmod with friends!
Have a good weekend everyone.
@Razputinman You too
Metroid until %100 then if there's any time left Castlevania Advance Collection. Great month for gaming!
Glad i also bought Tetris Effect yesterday because i will need to chill out after the stress of EMMI chasing me
Switch: Super Mario Oddyssey. I recently picked this game up again (after not touching it since I played it during launch) and want to get those final moons I havent collected yet. This game is still great btw.
I might buy Metroid Dread as well. Haven't played any Metroid games before but I figured I might as well jump into the newest one, especially since it's gotten such great reviews and feedback from players.
Series S: About to wrap up the campaign in Gears 5 for a third and final time. And play some more Scarlet Nexus. Im really enjoying the combat and bonkers story.
Have a good weekend everybody.
Spent all day yesterday playing Dread and I plan to keep that up over the weekend!
Had a marathon with Zero Mission, Samus Returns, Super and Fusion in the week leading up to Dread, so I got the hype train rolling early on and it doesn't seem to be stopping soon
Diablo 2 resurrected (PC)
METROID!!! Also will be trying Monkey Ball as I haven't had the chance to try that yet.
I played PlayStation games for this weekend. 🤓
BEMANI games
1. Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME Japan PS2
2. Para Para Paradise PS2
Other games
3. Disney Universe PS3
4. My Universe: School Teacher PS4
Today is 1st anniversary of my PS2 game purchase, Para Para Paradise PS2 bundle with controller so I celebrated by playing Para Para Paradise at evening before bath time.
Yeah I'm playing the new Metroid game, I think roughly 6 hours in now. It has some issues, both major and minor, but is a considerable improvement from Mercury Steam's other Metroid game to the point where I think I can go as far as to say that this is the first actually good game the company has made. It's still not a very good Metroid game, but as far as action games go I've certainly played whole lot worse.
I've also got a co-op playthrough of the Diablo 2 remake going with my friend, I picked Necromancer, he went with a Paladin. We're only 4-5 or so hours in and so far I've been enjoying it quite a bit.
Not playing Dread, to get this out of the way at once.😆 Granted I might "commemorate" the release with finally starting the overdue playthrough of the first game on NSO, but then again, I have been long torn between it and Zero Mission which reportedly adds a map (the lack of one intimidates me almost to the same degree as the lack of movement grid in OG Fire Emblem that ultimately led me to chicken out in favour of DS Shadow Dragon😆) and even some new areas. Besides, I consider playing the second game in its 3DS incarnation as well. My oft-cited "bias towards release order binges" has grown rather hypocritical as of late.😅
But in any case, there are plenty on the plate beyond it, even despite limiting my gaming plans to just Switch and Vita for this weekend. My gaming budget for the new fortnight fell woefully short of the previously planned Akiba's Trip, but even what I could invest has left me with some promising new library additions like Stranded Sails, Dungeon of the Endless, Kawaii Deathu Desu - and Omega Strike, speaking of metroidvanias. Among the library veterans, I hope to spend fair amounts of time in Portia, Zombie Hill Race, Path to Mnemosyne, Shining Resonance, Dusk Diver and possibly even more metroidvanias of various caliber from Grizzland and JackQuest to Dead Or School and Bloodstained. Sadly, my Castlevania SotN is still "locked" behind the Rondo playthrough on Vita, but I might revisit Exile's End instead - besides other stuff like Blue Reflection or Airship Q.
Metroid Dread should be arriving today from Nintendo UK store. Normally arrives on launch date, but not this time. I’ve started Zelda Skyward Sword using the improved motion controls. Read the review of the new Tetris game so I’ll give that a go a well.
Got Dread and Monkey ball yesterday so i will be dipping in to both. About 3 hours in to metroid and its enjoyable. Do i love it tho... No,not yet. Ive always had this issue with metroidvanias. Get stuck, dont know where im going then give up. Also about 2/3 of the way through Bayonetta 2. Far, far superior to the origional which to the end i felt out stayed its welcome.
Why, Metroid Dread of course I'm 2 hours in and I enjoy it a lot so far.
Tetris Effect all the way!
Sonic Colours. The Great Ace Attorney....
I finally hooked up my ps3 and am just about to finish Suikoden I. Will start Suikoden II straight after, and then continue with III, IV, Tactics and V.
Metroid Dread as I imagine everyone else is... But I have also been enjoying Darksiders 3! I am blessed with the inability to notice performance issues and so far it's the series I love so dearly.
It's arrival as a full fat port (with a physical release!) The same week as the Kingdom Hearts games release as their cloud versions is the chefs kiss!
Well, if my OLED arrives, then I'll play Dread.
Metroid Dread baby! What a tense game. Those E.M.M.I…….
Hmm, all this talk has made me want to play that Metroid game by MercurySteam. Yes, Samus Returns, that’s the one. Might fire that up, as I can’t get to my Switch at the moment
Mostly Diablo 2 Resurrected, used to love the original back in the day and this is a great upgrade! Also bought the second fighter pass for Smash, so will have a go with those characters.
Have a good one folks!
EDIT - Picking up Metroid Dread from Argos after work. It's probably about time I got into the series!
Metroid Dread, of course.
Other than that?
Ni No Kuni II, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, The Silver Case, The Great Ace Attorney, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, etc.
Likely mostly focusing on Metroid Dread though that's not until later on so before then probably Castlevania Advance Collection for Switch and Halo 5 for XB1. Just got to a pretty brutal difficulty spike in Circle of the Moon and unsure whether it's meant to be a brutal difficulty spike or that I don't have the right cards for it to be a reasonable difficulty.
I got Metroid Dread yesterday but recently cracked open my PS5 so been enjoying Death Stranding Directors Cut on there and may dabble in Ratchet and Clank so no time for Metroid. Recently started Scarlet Nexus on Game Pass as well. So many good games and so little time.
Metroid Dread and Tretris Effect: Connected. Both are fantastic.
Mostly Far Cry 6. Stunning and ridiculous fun. Also, could not resist Guacamelee double pack on special offer. Been wanting to play this for years and seems great so far. Dread can wait for a few weeks.
I’m playing through dragon quest 11 definitive edition on the ps4/ps5 atm, passed the halfway point already. Reallt enjoying it.
Also playing through castlevania circle of the moon on my switch, love that I’m finally able to play the gba games for affordable prices.
And lastly my brother and I have a minecraft world where we do stuff, play on it both on the switch and ps5 depending wether I want to play portably or with better performance.
Metroid Dread for me, with a little Tetris 99 to get the Monster Hunter theme! 😄👍
@darkswabber i got stuck on DQ11 at the boss fight at the port when you go to get the ship. Batters me every time.
Dreadful weekend
Hopefully Dread, but seeing as my pre-order, once again, wasn't in the shop at launch, I might play angry dude demanding a refund (the neighbor shop has both in stock).
The Messsnger
Metroid Dread
Wario Ware get it together!
Metroid: Dread. Absolutely love it.
@Donutsavant That's good to hear! I'm on the tail end of a darksiders marathon. I'm hoping to get number 3 started this weekend if I can just get through darksiders 2 today.
Streets of rage 4 survival mode. Grand upper
@Expa0 Lord's of Shadow is a fantastic game. They also did a good job with Mirror of Fate. I don't think Mercury has made a bad game yet outside of Lords of Shadow 2.
I do have a new Switch OLED model, but unfortunately not a copy of Metroid Dread. So I guess I’ll only be playing the other NL rated 10/10 game that released yesterday.. the absolutely incredible, Tetris Effect: Connected.
Not picking up Metroid just yet as I have a bunch of other games to get through. Going to be trying to finally beat NEO: The World Ends With You at last, and now that I’ve finished its story mode I can start on Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania’s hellish extra modes.
Still waiting for my copy of Metroid Dread to arrive, so this weekend I'll play Luigi's Mansion 3 and some Donkey Kong Country 2 on NSO. Have a nice weekend folks!
@Kidfunkadelic83 game is very grind friendly. 15 minutes of grinding in a high experience area should make you overleveled and be able to do all battles on auto play, even boss battles.
I picked up Crusin Blast last weekend and what a great game it is, just pure fun. It seems to be under the radar a bit.
I’m going to a friends tonight and I plan on taking it for some head to head fun, and I’ll get to try a couple of rounds of Mario Golf too before going for a curry.
This should get me in the mood for going to Donnington tomorrow to see some touring car racing, no idea what to expect as I’ve never tried something like that before - but someone had a spare ticket.
I hope, I can play Metroid Dread. My special edition lies with a neighbor, who doesn't open up😔
Mostly Atelier Ryza 2, with a dash of Slay the Spire and some Darius.
It's gonna be Metroid Dread all the way for quite some time! I'm really happy for having a new (great!) Metroid game in my hands and I'm relieved that it plays so smoothly! I played for some hours yesterday and it's awesome!
Metroid dread is probably all I have time for as I work all weekend, so won’t be able to progress too much further. Really loving it tho. The EMMI encounters are so fun.
I totally intended to Metroid all weekend and then stayed up late in bed playing Tetris Effect...I never thought they could make it so perfect on the Switch. And even better in portable mode.
My copy of Dread arrives on Tuesday, and I'm going away a week after that, so I'm saving Metroid for the flight. This weekend, I'm playing Animal Crossing New Horizons again!
Hoping to save Dread for November when I have time, bought a pre-owned Luigi’s Mansion 3 for October!
Ori and the Blind Forest. I gave up on it years ago after getting stuck.
From the comments it looks that if I can't complete Ori, I won't stand a chance with metroid so made a deal with myself.
If I can complete Ori, I will treat myself to Metroid.
I'm finished Story Mode in Guilty Gear XX ΛCore Plus R as Zappa and Millia Rage on Path 1. Earned some Chaos Coins in CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE-. On last weekend, in Super Mario Odyssey I'm beated Broodle in Lake Kingdom(Озёрное царство, или королевство... Я уже немного подзабыл). So, I hope that tomorrow I'll will be able to play Super Mario Odyssey. Only Super Mario Odyssey.
How cannot anyone be curious about the game the editor redacted?! I swing between erotic or PS5 game
For me? Dread. Bought a LEGO game for the kids so I get to spend the whole evening in my couch with my Lite feeling joy!
I won't be playing Metroid Dread until my birthday in February. I'm always gifted a big video game at that time, so I'll be waiting a bit.
As for this weekend, I'm close to the final boss on Neo: The World Ends With You, so I'll be trying to finish that. It's been a pretty good game, but it's nowhere close to the 9 rating that this site gave it. Although it's my wife's copy and she's the bigger fan of the game, so the purchase was still worth it.
If I get any more time to game, itll be me starting a solo run Borderlands 1 on my Switch (my favourite entry in the series), or possibly playing the rest of Sky: Children of Light. It really depends on my mood.
I'm back playing on Switch again for the first time in ages. Diving into Metroid Dread. A couple of hours in and it feels like everything I enjoyed about Samus Returns on the 3DS ramped up to the next level. Absolutely loving it. With Metroid, SMT V and the Pokemon remakes, I'll be here for some time! I'll still be making sure to continue Tales of Arise on the PS5 in the background though!
Wish I could say “Duh, I’m playing Metroid Dread,” but as feared I didn’t finish Super Metroid so I will soldier on there and then move on to Dread.
It’s like my mom always said - I’d be late for my own funeral! 😅
@nocdaes
I hope you finished Super Metroid on time, at least!
Metroid Dread (got the wonderful Special Edition ) on Switch and Tales of Arise on PS5. It's great to be a gamer in 2021!
I'm playing ducks and drakes with your question.
Started Dread last night. Really solid so far!
I decided to take a break from Great Ace Attorney 2 after beating case 3 the other night. I didn’t want to have to stop mid-case when Metroid came out. So I finally got around to poking around in New Pokémon Snap while I waited. Pretty fun! I think it’ll be my “wind down” game at the end of intense gaming sessions or something to pick up when I only have ten minutes for a while. I could see switching over to that after getting through some EMMI sections or bosses in Dread, this game kinda stresses me out (in a good way), ha.
I sure hope there's another dozen or so Metroid/swoled articles today
😉
Anyways, I'm playing katamari, wii Mario/kirby and soduku on phone
Dread! All dread haha
Metroid. BUT I really need to sort out the complicated muddle ive got myself in. New oled , my og is dead, some of my save data is on my kid’s lite. I tried to play Mario kart (from the kart) last night, won’t even play without some syncing with something. It’s massively frustrating. I know I’m aging myself here but I miss the days when you’d just slap a cart in and play the game without needing the internet and an account….grrrrrrr…….talk about first world problems but yeah, it’s frustrating.
Metroid Fusion
Motorsport Manager Switch Edition
Picross 3D
Finally beat botw (second favourite game and deserving of GOTY)and now on hollow knight, that section after getting vengeful spirit with the rolling beetles is SOOO hard
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Metroid Dread.
Other games I’m in the middle of and may play a level or two in: DKC2 and Advance Wars. I decided to restart DKC2 on 3DS last week because I think those games look way better on there than on NSO. SNES games look great on the 3DS to me because the screen makes it look almost like the scan lines on an old CRT or something. Also every time I play DKC2 I think that Baba Is You uses a couple of sound effects very close it, but I don’t see much online about that.
Metroid dread, Tetris effect, story of seasons and the great ace attorney during the night..
Ah, and Wario some times
I'll probably mostly play metroid dread, but I do want to make some more headway in bravely default 2 and Dracula X. We'll see if I pry my hands away from dread.
Metroid Dread is on my wish list, maybe a treat for payday but we'll see. This weekend, I've got the Metroid Dread spirits in Smash and the Monster Hunter theme in Tetris 99. Started the final season of Walking Dead last night which I bought ages ago on a sale but never got around to playing. Like many, I'm not as hooked by this series as I was in the first season, but it's generally been a well-told story and I'm looking forward to seeing how it finishes.
Honestly probably Call of duty zombies. New map came out for black ops cold war 💀
Baldo of course, the best game this year imho
@Petew you can do it! There were a few tough spots for me, especially the chase sequences. But try to stick to it, i think the game was worth dying a few hundred times. 😊
Blue fire, Paradise City, ACNH, Rally 3, Townscaper.
Happy gaming everyone!
Cotton, lots of Cotton. The reboot and 2. Fun shooters those are. Probably make time for Mario Golf Super Rush, Monster Hunter Rise, and Animal Crossing too.
I’m doing my best to not buy Metroid Dread as I have too many other games to play and I’ll wait until I can pick it up for less than RRP.
Resident Evil 2 remake and symphony of the night on PS5
Currently resisting the temptation to buy dread (which I doubt will last long) as I still need to complete eastward!
Also playing a bit of risk slay the spire, it’s just a brilliantly designed game. Also got back into stardew valley, having started a new mountain farm. It’s amazing after 140 hours I still love this game, amazing value for a £10 game!
Metroid Dread. Awesome game so far and best game I've played on Switch this year.
Not going to waste my time with Dread, but I am playing Tetris.
Trying to clear a backlog of small games - just finished Pan Pan which was nice although I did resort to online help a couple of times. Next up… maybe Limbo? Or Wulverblade? Also a bit of Tetris 99 and Dead Cells, neither of which I’m great at but enjoy in small bursts.
I finally finished Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle after dragging my feet with it for sooooo long. I have to admit world 3 just dragged so much for me and I couldn't tell you why lol. Now I've started Final Fantasy IX and Metroid Dread. So far I am loving both of them!
Metroid Dread of course.
This is one of those weekends where I am not certain if I will be playing any video games since I have a lot going on right now. If I do though, it might be New Pokémon Snap as I am still trying to diamond all star levels of pictures, or perhaps I will play a game on the SNES Online application. I really am excited for Nintendo 64 Online that is coming soon. That is where my heart is in terms of nostalgia.
@dugan A few hundred times?
I need to work on my patience skills as I am practically throwing my controller across the room after dying twice.
Breath of the Wild and Smash (as always) but I’ve also been playing through A Link to the Past recently... oh my god I love that game! I might also have to try Super Metroid as I’ve never played a Metroid game in my life.
Well DREAD was supposed to be delivered yesterday. It is currently 2 hours away at a FedEx sorting facility. So I am staying away from all DREAD articles and new reports to avoid spoilers. Looks like I can finish of that FUSION run I was doing on WiiU.
I’m gonna be continuing Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle mainly. I’m obsessed with that game and probably will be playing that until I finish it. I’ll also play some Monster Hunter Stories 2 if I have time!
Dread, Wii U, Mario golf
Metroid Dread (Switch)
and Maybe The Simpsons: Road Rage (Xbox)
LM3 the game is one of the best of all time.
Finally have a weekend where I'm not working, (and it's a long weekend to boot!), so definitely some Metroid Dread. It's amazing so far. Also working my way through Harmony of Dissonance. May get some old school Resident Evil in as well. I do like to dabble in the spooky games during October.
Got both Dread and Tetris Effect. I can’t stop playing Effect. It’s freaking amazing. Never played it before but in one day it’s easily the best Tetris game ever and probably my favorite puzzle game of all time. Get it! On the OLED, it’s sublime and hypnotic. Dread is awesome too, by the way, but I keep booting up Effect.
I've been making my way through my backlog this week and having a blast. I finished Guacamelee 2, and Inside this week. I'm about to finished a little indie game called Dogurai and then I think I'm going to either play RE 2 Remake or Bloodstained.
@moodycat
I loved The Last of Us. Such a beautiful and depressing game, full of tension
Dread has been a blast so far, and tonight is DnD night, booya!
I'm having so much fun with Metroid Dread after waiting so long
together with this i'll be playing Skyward sword
On ps5 i'll try to play Lost Judgement and the new Far Cry
Nothing this weekend as it is Thanksgiving here in Canada and I have all my vaccinated family members here to celebrate!
Copped Dread, only played around 20 mins but it’s already intense and I’m getting that classic feeling of isolation only a Metroid game provides.
I just pre ordered Disco Elysium on Eshop. Going in completely blind but too many excellent reviews to ignore it, really hoping the Switch version isn’t trash!
Other than that backlog grinding’…I’ll be cliche too as I’ve been playing Luigis Mansion 3, Outlast 2 and Alien Isolation. It’s kinda lame to play a game seasonally so to speak but Luigis Mansion 3 is one of the best Switch games no ones completes..or is only played in October. Oh Hollow Knight will get some play too, i just have no idea where I am or what I’m doing in that game at the moment still love the game.
Have a great weekend! Happy Thanksgiving if you are in Canada!
I'll be joining most of the readers of the site, and be playing Metroid Dread. I only played a bit so far and I'm enjoying it. If I get any other time to play, I want to get back to Castlevania Advanced Collection.
@JohnnyC
Lol we must have purchased The Walking Dead on sale at the same time all those years ago. It’s still in my backlog, loved season 1…Clementine!! I’m sure I’ll get back to it eventually , can’t believe the tv series is still…alive!
Quake, New Super Lucky’s Tale and Metroid Dread, all on the Switch. Good times! Oh, and Tetris 99, got the theme 👍
@BaronMunchausen
Damnit..been hearing so many great things about Tetris…was trying to justify Tetris as a $40 purchase but sounds like it’s worth every penny. Might just wait for a sale or if I’m really disappointed with Disco Elysium I’ll give Tetris a go
I completed Circle of the Moon 100% and now I'm playing Metroid Dread all weekend. Is there any other answer?
BotW and Doom Eternal on Nightmare Mode. I'll get Dread this Monday, physical editions have not yet arrived to my country
@Rainz It’s on sale now but worth every cent at full price. No one would regret this purchase.
@HollowSpectre i almost am worried that 3 will seem poor by comparison! Darksiders 2 is in my all time top 5 games and I think it's nearly perfect
@Rainz Tetris Effect is $10 off right now.
I haven't played it since the PS3 days but holy crap I forgot how good it was! From what I've heard of the third the second sounds like it will Be better
Metroid Dread is just incredible. Absolutely loving it.
I just bought Cruis'n Blast there so I'll be getting stick into that too.
Metroid Dread 100% of the time this weekend for me. It’s sucked me in and it’s just delivering on a whole other level. Mercury Steam are gods to me at this point. They’ve reached some kind of level I didn’t even know existed in this world.
Anyway yeah… Metroid Dread and I have no interest in anything else at the moment, frankly. I plan to start a brand new file when it’s done too. First game in a LONG time that I do not want to put down and am motivated to finish and see through.
@Teksetter Haha I did, and I'm now playing Dread. Super has served as an excellent warm up, so stick with it!
Ocarina of Time 3d....Trying to get the ice arrows early to use on Bongo Bongo.
Will play Metroid Dread at some point...looks awesome but £50 for a 10 hour metroidvania??? I dno about that one.
Dread. I think I’m about halfway through. Want to play some Actraiser Renaissance tonight also. Finishing up Kasandora there.
Fortunately I have a 3 day weekend for all of this.
@Rainz Tetris Effect really is worth it. I was excited from the reviews but in reality it is an indescribable experience.
Finally beat Mario+Rabbids so I'll go through my catalog to see what I want to play. I'll likely finish up the 3 games I didn't play on the Capcom Beat 'Em Up bundle, then go to The Ninja Saviors.
Sims 4 and Animal Crossing. It’s time to decorate for Halloween. 🎃
Rocket League, Metroid 5, Tetris 99, and maybe Pikmin 3 and Spiderman Miles Morales. Oh, and probably WRC 9 or 10.
Finishing my last route on Aokana after nearly 80 hours of game play. Then onto Doki Doki Literature Club Plus since I got the physical version yesterday.
@BenAV I'm thinking of getting Island from PlayAsia. Does it have any romance routes like Aokana?
Sad that not a single person above mentioned picking up DDLC Plus yesterday
@JustMonika I picked up my DDLC Plus physical pre-order from Gamestop yesterday along with Dread. I honestly forgot I pre-ordered it with all the Dread hype. Gonna be playing Dread for now, but my wife and I are both looking forward to trying out DDLC. I know nothing about it and was chatting with someone who worked on the Portuguese localization for the Brazil version a few months ago. She said it was pretty crazy!
Astral Chain baybee. Just got the beast buddy.
@trcsf You're in for a treat. I never knew a game could come along and topple The Last of Us for #1 spot on my list.
Since I finally finished up Luigi's Mansion 3 I am planning on starting up Metroid Dread tomorrow, can't wait to see the evolution of 2D Metroid.
@Dpishere Loving that Okami profile pic.
@JustMonika I've never played The Last of Us. I was sort of out of gaming when that was released. Hopefully, the Switch gets a version.
@trcsf Thank you, I have had the same one for like 8 years now, noticed you have a Golden Axe profile pic, good stuff.
@JustMonika Yeah it follows the usual romance VN formula of having a common route then splitting into separate routes for each of the girls.
@trcsf It's Naughty Dog so Playstation exclusive. That would be like if Mario or Zelda showed up on a Playstation, lol
@BenAV Alright I'm sold then.. I'm adding it to the list.. heard the anime adaptation isn't good though. I think Clannad and Little Busters are some of the few adaptations that stuck to the landing quite nicely.
@JustMonika Even the good ones like Clannad and Little Busters miss out on quite a lot from the VNs but they did a pretty good job with them considering how non-linear they are. Steins;Gate worked pretty well as the main route of that actually is pretty linear but even that's way better in VN format.
Just chipping away at Trails in the Sky.
Just made it to Ruan
Playing Metroid Dread for sure. Picked it up Friday and barely put it down since. Other then that maybe some Diablo 3, Fortnite, others.
I'm trying to finish a no bonfire/no death/SL1/permadeath run of Dark Souls 2. It's...pretty much breaking me, as it should
NINJA APPROVED (now where's my Xanax...)
@BaronMunchausen
@Krambo42
@FishyS
My heart as a gamer truly appreciates you recommendation buy Tetris Effect. It really is something else, for anyone sitting on the fence as I was, don’t hesitate, it’s just a special experience!
Now my wallet absolutely despises y’all at the same time! But..still respects your powers of persuasion! Its clear you all work for the developer ha! Hit me up if your online! Thanks again, best of weekends to you!
@Rainz
This is what we’re all here for. Knew you’d love it. Take care.
Back 4 Blood (PS5) and Dread on OLED mostly. Gonna try to make progress on Tales of Arise (PS5) as well.
@OorWullie
It really is an amazing game. I’m really appreciating the Metroid franchise for just how unique and original it’s managed to be since it’s inception. It’s spurred an entire gaming genre that’s just now getting its accolades with modern iterations like Ori, Hollow Knight etc. Dread itself is intensely fun, Samus is on my list! 🤓
Metroid Dread, same as most other people here. I'm not one of the people playing it on the Switch OLED as I have to pass on it for now (not enough money + other priorities), but I hope the people who are playing it that way are enjoying it! I hope to join the OLED ranks eventually, but the Steam Deck calls out to me first.
If I play anything else this weekend, Xenosaga would be a likely choice. I think I'm getting close to the end of Episode I, and I'll probably do Xenogears after that before moving on to the other two entries in the XS trilogy. Maybe I'll also finally get back to A Link to the Past this weekend, too.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Simply Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
(and maybe DELTARUNE Chapter 2.)
I'm in China in quarantine right now, week 2 of 3 and I'm playing Stardew Valley split screen on the TV with my wife and Bravely Default 2
@nocdaes
Hehe thanks for the encouragement! I’m currently trying to find my way into some unexplored rooms and the boss in Maridia… It’s getting a little exasperating so I may break off and backtrack a bit now that I have grapple beam and bouncing morph ball.
I hate that feeling of “there’s something easy I must be missing bc it shouldn’t be this hard” I keep getting with Super M. Or maybe my pro controller or NSO is laggy as heck because it’s maddening trying to wall jump or boost jump when I want to. UGH!
Chore or not, I’m still determined to finish it!
Ys Origin
So far, 5 hours played.
Metroid dread, Ys8, the original Castlevania and maybe some Ciricle of the moon and root film. Did some Pac-Man 99 and won a few matches
Screw you, backlog, I'm playing Metroid Bread! Or, I would be if I didn't have boring things to do like raising a child or sleeping nearly 5 hours a day.
Now playing Borderlands 1 on the Switch. I missed playing this so much. It's super relaxing to play in handheld mode. I'm totally absorbed.
Not Metroid Dread, I have a birthday coming up soon and I suspect that may be in its future. I've been busy at a wedding all weekend but have been playing Super Mario 3D World a level or three at a time during the downtime
Recently started Borderlands 1 as well, never played the franchise before , it really is great playing on the Switch! I’ve just been playing it in snippets here and there but really enjoying it’s accessibility
I'm mostly loving Dread, bit I have to admit the emmi parts are really really annoying to me enough to ruin the fun of the flow. It's the same die over and over until you get the right result pattern I hate about Souls.
I started "The Messenger" yesterday. It's a pretty cool platformer, but wow I don't like the music. Incredibly harsh and repetitive
Switch: A lot of metroid dread.
Xbox: A run in a Hades and player career in fifa 21
Phone: Always in for a unite battle
Second playthrough of Dread on hard mode.
