Another seven days go by in the world of Nintendo. This past week the Streets of Rage series turned 30, Nintendo updated investors with its latest quarterly financial results, and both New Pokémon Snap and Mario Golf: Super Rush received updates with new content. Boom!

After a busy week it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

I'll jump back into my lengthy journey in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which I've been enjoying a great deal. The Mario Golf: Super Rush update actually reminded me of the joys of Super Mario Odyssey, so I might start a fresh run through Mario's adventure as well.

Beyond that, if I find time on an upcoming day off I'll work through the next case in The Great Ace Attorney, try to play a bit of co-op in The Ascent, and inevitably grind my way through the new content in MLB The Show because my name is Thomas Whitehead, and I'm a baseball addict.

This weekend I will almost definitely be playing Minecraft with my chums. We're doing the rather tedious work of helping to clear a huge patch of land and then replace it all with dirt. Also, I haven't finished my ice palace yet, so that's another task.

To be this patient it took AGES! Yes, my Astro City Mini saga is coming to a close and I’m trying to figure out the logistics of taking the unit on vacation with me (it certainly is no PC Engine Mini, my companion of last Summer).

It is indeed that time of the year where I quietly go offline and spend several weeks just retro-gaming on some far off land with little to no WiFi. Could not ask for a better week to ship out with so many amazing eShop offerings released: Button City, Haven Park, Dodgeball Academia, Doomsday Vault, Dreamscaper, Demons of Asteborg, I.F.O (how did I miss this on 3DS?). Add The Falconeer: Warrior Edition to the physical side of things plus some late arrivals from the Far East and I am one happy camper.

Game of the week is an old favourite: Streets of Rage 4. I am now able to regularly pull 200+ hit combos thus achieving my ultimate goal: complete Shiva mastery and domination. Shiryu is now offline, we shall meet again when “Metroid OLED” hits the shops.

Well folks, after seeing the wonderful progress being made on Joymasher's Moonrider, I've gone back to play through their Contra-inspired gem Blazing Chrome. Look, real talk guys, if you haven't played this one yet, give yourselves a wee slap on the wrist and get it downloaded! It's a banger.

Elsewhere, I'm still cruising around in Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox, which just continues to astound me. I've got plans to visit Canada's Moraine Lake this weekend, and may stop off at beautiful Kyoto. Have a good one, everyone!

Having read Tom's verdict on the new Mario Golf: Super Rush update, I'm suddenly jonesing to play the best (3D) game in the series — Mario Golf for N64 — so I might crack that out for a round or two.

Otherwise, I'll be going retro this weekend with my latest acquisitionNew Ghostbusters II for the Game Boy. I've already got the excellent HAL-developed NES version, and the GB port is very similar. Yes, the latest trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife may have played a part in this impulse purchase!

As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...
