We're all another seven days older and in the past week we've seen (among other things) a bunch of leaked early designs for the Wiimote, possibly the rarest e-Reader card in existence sold for a five-figure sum, Nintendo announce three more games for its Nintendo Switch online SNES library, and Square apparently wondering if players would really be interested in Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on consoles.
It's now time to unwind a little and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

On the Nintendo front I'll be continuing my journey through The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD; I'm still quite early in the game but have been loving it so far, it's lovely to revisit it after all these years. I'm also moving onto Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS in my Metroid lore run; I never actually finished it when it first launched, but I'll rectify that.
On other systems I'll jump into MLB The Show 21 as always, and I also picked up Death's Door; very much looking forward to try that out.

At the time of writing I am still trying to scratch an itch I can’t quite reach: Where is our Streets of Rage 4 DLC?
This week eShop offered up some great little gems like MouseBot: Escape from CatLab, my very first MOBA, Pokémon Unite, and even some vintage Konami belt action from Arcade Archives Vendetta. Yet I must find some sort of work/play time balance because I’m not making as much progress as I should be in Monster Hunter Stories 2.
Game of the week is old favourite Wrestling Empire. MDickie's biggest free update is now live, bringing an impressively deep “Booking Mode” to what was already the Switch’s most accomplished grappler package. The new “Games Journalist” difficulty mode is also greatly appreciated.

This week, I've been playing a looooot of Minecraft with friends. I had a massive Minecraft phase at the start of 2020, and it sort of died off when we ran out of things to do; now I'm back with a massive server of chums and it's brought new life to the game for me. It's fantastic!

I'm trying, folks. I really am. I'm back on Skyward Sword this weekend, but I'm honestly really struggling with it so far. I thought it felt very limited back in the day, but with the subsequent launch of Breath of the Wild, it's only exacerbated my initial opinion on the game. I'll push through though, I'll get it done, then I can at least say that I gave it a good shot.
Elsewhere, I've gone back to the incomparable Dead Space on the Series X. I can't tell you how many times I've played through this masterpiece, but with the announcement of a remake (finally!), I just had to go back once again!

I'm hoping to dive back into Skyward Sword HD this weekend. I spent one glorious evening reacquainting myself with Faron Woods last Sunday, but haven't been able to dive back in. I'd also love to return to Streets of Rage 4 after reading Tom's hands-on write up of the Mr. X Nightmare DLC. What a fantastic game that is.
Failing that, I've been addicted to the Green Hill Zone Time Trial in Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog for a while now (in fact, you'll find an article about it from yours truly if you keep 'em peeled), so I'll probably spend any spare minutes I can grab attempting to whittle milliseconds off my run and climb the worldwide rankings.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

1. Skyward Sword HD
2. Blasphemous
3. Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
The Streets Of Rage 4 DLC…….no, wait a minute!
1. Skyward Sword (it’s much much better than I remember) makes me feel how much I miss the old Zelda formula instead of BotW
2. Ghost of Tsushima
3. New Lucky’s Tale
4. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory
Atelier Ryza 2
Gamebuilder Garage.
Skyward Sword HD, loving it.
Firewatch. Just a shame you know that there are superior versions on the other platforms as the environments look good.
I played these games. 🤓
1. Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits 2 3DS
2. Imagine Party Babyz Wii
3. Surf's Up Wii
I have finished the storyline of Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits this afternoon. I giggled to realize the reason behind the war between Bonies and Fleshies (it was a feud about doughnut filling). 😆
I have finished also Imagine Party Babyz story mode. Such a short and cheap party game.
Err.... I still struggled to make higher scores for Surf's Up as i still have difficulty to do Freestyle Tricks with higher points.
After a pretty big break from gaming over the last couple of months due to "cant be botheredness" (i have this wobble every year) im surprised to find myself playing and enjoying Skyward sword HD. It was one game from the announcement that i told myself i wasnt interested in, partly due to my toys being thrown out of my pram over the lack of ocarina of time and wind wake release. Im enjoying it alot and its far better than the couple of hours i remember playing on the Wii.
Paper Mario: The Origami King! Just brought it yesterday and am very impressed. So much better already than the only other Paper Mario I played (Sticker Star) and the humour is surprisingly dark and genuinely funny! Bit worried the battles will become a pain when they get more complicated but will persevere.
Also playing Super Bomberman R Online with some friends with private match tonight which I'm excited to try.
Every game that's not but should be on Switch Online 🎮
Resident evil : village. Need to find out the conclusion of ethans story
Skyward Sword (Wii)
Never did finish this game after breaking my wrist 10 years ago but restarted it this past week and I’m enjoying it. Up to the desert now.
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
Two levels left to collect all the KONG letters. Then onto the golden temple. Never did complete this back in the day either but it’s a barnstormer. Came back to it after going through the original DKC series on NSO. Love each game, think they get better with each game. Can’t wait until I get around to Tropical Freeze.
Those are the main two I’ve played over the past week. Had a bit of a Wii week.
I’ve been investigating Cave shooters so I’ve played some Ketsui and Espgaluda.
I will likely play some 2 player Mario 3D World with my son. And maybe start Mother 3 if not shmupping.
Skyward Sword and Half Life Alyx.
It's weird how much better skyward sword is now.
Half Life Alyx is definitively worth the hype. Both fun and terrifying at the same time
Since I beat Jenny LeClue: Detectivu this week (a really great adventure title that i recently picked up on massive discount), I decided to start Doki Doki Literature Club last night. Of course, it's all sunshine and rainbows in the beginning, so I've got a ways to go before all of the crazy stuff starts happening. Whatever happens, I'm sure my character, Canuck Norris, can handle whatever comes his way.
Aside from that, I'll be spending the weekend meeting my new nephew, and eagerly waiting for my pool table to be delivered on Monday. Finally, a couple good things to look forward to for myself in 2021.
Just about finished Ghost of Tsushima so I will finish that.
Loving playing Jaleco Collection on my Evercade so some more of that whenever possible.
My Switch lies dormant, I have Mario Golf to start but it can wait for now.
Also playing some games on my Cube, Wii U and SNES.
Scarlet Nexus. A bit like a cross between Astral Chain and Code Vein. Trying to complete Final Fantasy 12 but it has become a repeat cycle of very hard boss / grind to beat boss. I think I might be ready to trade in.
Been saving Monster Hunter Stories 2 for the summer holiday, so finally going to get stuck in.
Finally going back to Three Houses, had it since release but got distracted by many other things. Starting with the Golden Deers. So far so very good!
@Papichulo what is in the picture? A hacked Wii U and an Anbernic handheld? I'm playing fusion on my GBAsp, because it isn't on the Switch.
Right now I'm playing through Psychonauts for the first time. I've heard it's quite funny and it's nice to see that the game lives up to expectations. I find many 2000s games (like Beyond Good and Evil) to have mediocre stories so I'm glad to see Psychonauts' writing is legitimately good (although I'm not sure if the gameplay is up to snuff). Otherwise I might continue playing Chrono Trigger if I end up getting my 3DS fixed this weekend.
I couldn't get into Skyward Sword, I found it so boring. Still have my very limited progress saved on my Wii. Won't be double dipping.
Ratched and clank a rift apart on ps5
On switch i'll mostly be playing skyword sword, did my first dungeon and it was amazing,
Other then that some mario kart online
I’m still playing Monster Hunter Stories 2. I’m 50 hours in. I kind of want to crack open my 3DS and play Final Fantasy IV for the DS. I haven’t played that in a while and all this talk about a pixel remaster made me want to go back to a better version than mobile scraps.
Skyward sword woop woop
I'm finishing Skyward Sword HD on Switch and I just started Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4.
Spirit of Justice and Shadows of Valentia on 3DS, Endless Frontier and first Rune Factory on DS (or, rather, 3DS - since my only physical native, Project X Zone, awaits its turn anyway, I decided to use the slot for Madame Arfoir instead), Dracula X Chronicles, Nights of Azure and Gravity Rush on Vita.
On Switch, some late game stuff in Burnout Paradise and Highrise Heroes (in the wake of already finished PictoQuest - still possibly best Switch nonogram game this side of Murder by Numbers), some early game stuff in Sakuna and Spiritfarer, some new recruits like Kona and Save Koch (and Uchu Shinshuchu which you'd easily identify as a Japanese game even without the untranslated title😄). Possible excursions into Immortals, Skyrim and Bioshock 2, maybe even BotW and Starlink if the stars line up.
And speaking finished stuff, besides PictoQuest... unbelievably, Luxor. Has it been merely six months ago that I reached its last stage? Somehow even recently beating Driver's tutorial stage, while also at long last, doesn't feel quite as cathartic.😆
And then the game asked if I wanted to "continue playing on expert difficulty".
Metroid and Super Metroid to get ready for Dread.
@Anti-Matter I swear man. Every week as I read the article I try to guess what you’ll be playing and every week you surprise me. Party Babyz, wow
Skyward Sword HD, nothing else. Never played it before but it's fast becoming one of my favourite Zelda games. Absolutely loving it, worth every penny. Just beat Lanayru, the whole area is a dungeon in itself and then the bonus of the dungeon followed. So damn good. All played in motion control as well gang...
@Kid_Sickarus
I was so lucky to get Imagine Party Babyz Wii with very cheap price (IDR 100,000 or under US$ 10) from Tokopedia (kinda like Ebay in Indonesia). 😁
The game was very short, only 36 Mini games that divided into 4 Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). Each season have 9 mini games on it in marathon style. The story was about a young woman who became a babysitter in baby care center, meet with Leo as a baby sitter too with his lion mascot suit. But the storyline was very weak, like a cheap short story. I wasn't surprised, it was a casual game after all.
Hades. The cross save is really serving me well.
A lot of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and maybe some Game Builder Garage and Luigi's Mansion 3
Fury Unleashed.
Pokemon shield (NS) - I got a shiny tapu koko yesterday in 6 DA runs, got a shiny tapu fini 4 runs after that and a shiny Gmax duraladon 5 runs after that. Trying to breed a shiny dhelmise, shiny phantump and shiny larvasta now. I still need a shiny tapu lele to get all 4 shiny tapu’s (already had bulu).
Wolfenstein: the new order (ps4/ps5) - started playing this on Wednesday but didn’t feel like continueing yet, maybe this weekend.
Not much basically, I’m not really feeling like playing games atm besides pokemon.
Mario Golf Super Rush on my Switch.
Ghost of Tsushima on my PS5.
Skywards sword and a bit of Mario golf
Mario Golf… on 3ds! I’ve been having a blast with that game. After 7 years I finally bought the season pass yesterday (with some eShop credit I’ve had for ages, just sitting there)… and I love the new courses. Well, most of them anyway. How is it that this old game is 10x better than the new Mario Golf on switch?! And likewise with Animal Crossing… I’ve been enjoying playing Happy Home Designer a lot lately too… which in itself is more fun than New Horizons. What happened to Nintendo’s development team? The good games can’t all be behind us can they?
I started Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster on Thursday. Just a few hours in now. Good stuff so far.
I've been doing a little Darkest Dungeon in the last few days as well. One of my favorite Switch games, that I go back to every once in a while.
I feel bad about neglecting Ring Fit Adventure, but work has been so rough that I haven't needed or had the inclination to work out. I might try and do a little of it today though.
More Monster Hunter Stories 2, that game will be my Switch focus until I complete it.
Zelda Skyward Sword HD
Mario Golf Super Rush
This weekend is focused on Zelda Minish Cap. First time I play it, what a FANTASTIC game! And looks and plays beautiful! I really hope Nintendo brings soon the GBA games to the NSO. It has so many gems.
I'm getting real close on Ys 9.
One of the weird things about big RPGs is that it means every week my answer is the same. Lol but it's still great and even though I'm close to the end I kind of never want it to end. It's just so good!
Up next though is No More Heroes 2
continuing with Skyward Sword HD after not playing it since last sunday, good fun so far tho I'm still very early in and then continuing with both Castlevania Rondo of Blood on the PS5 and Castlevania 3 on the Switch been playing through the series recently after the netflix series caught my interest and been having an absolute blast with them
I'm playing Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, hoping to finish it. Have also started Super Princess Peach on DS which is pretty neat and 80s Overdrive on 3DS.
Might start Skyward Sword HD since everyone else is playing it.
@fafonio I miss the old Zelda formula too.
Cleaning my flat! When I get a new job I’m going to go mental and buy skyward sword, Mario kart 8 deluxe, and origami king! Xx feel like a link to the past play through again xx
@Zuljaras OOOH!!! I just finished Order of Ecclesia! It's the hardest Castlevania game I've ever played (although I skipped any of them before Symphony)
Just got a Fixture S1 so I gotta test it out.
Skyward Sword HD
Wrestling Empire
Dead Cells
WWF WrestleFest
This weekend it will be on my Gaming Laptop. Playing Asassin creed odyssey. Beautiful game.
Twilight Princess HD
I'm finally finished Story Mode in BLAZBLUE CENTRALFICTION Special Edition. It's one of the best games that I ever played in my life. I'm finished Call of Juarez: Gunslinger second time. I'm began to play Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive and Resident Evil: Revelations. Also, I beated main boss of the first world in Shovel Knight: King of Cards.
Still playing skyward sword.
Skyward sword HD. First time playing and I’m enjoying it other than the slow start and slightly janky controls
Playing Skyward Sword HD on its own terms and so far I'm enjoying it. Main takeaways so far are that I love the interactions with the characters and the dungeons are fun to explore.
Just got to the desert in Skyward Sword...have found a lot of it's puzzles and how much use you get out of each new tool really satisfying. Also, working my way through Alwa's Legacy...fun Metroidvania with an emphasis on puzzles and simple platforming. Planning on getting around to finishing up Jedi: Fallen Order soon.
inbetween trying to catch that elusive fly on ACNH (if only I could get hold of some ACNH dog poo!!), I will be walking the dog, watching the British Lions and drinking lots of wine
A lot of Snowrunner, since way longer than I'd ever have expected. That game has so many things that are so great about it, that I don't even care that I don't even like cars. Currently looking for a cheap, slightly off-road capable car anyways, since I may soon buy a plot of land in the mountains, to travel back and forth between my mountain and my forest here, depending on the season, and go totally off-grid there for half a year at a time or so. And snowrunner almost makes me live that dream already.
Sometimes it feels like Breath of the Wild (world exploration and physics, watchtowers to mark new points of interest on your map), sometimes like Witcher 3 (nature, exploration), sometimes like Snake Pass (wiggling through the mud with a way too long "train" of say, a loaded truck, a loaded trailer, and a towed second trailer), sometimes like a slow Spiderman (winching or "webslinging" on to trees left and right), sometimes like a Metroidvania (getting upgrades to get to new areas), sometimes like a "rogue-like" (a good run suddenly ending in getting completely stuck because of not paying attention or being ill-prepared, and then planning a rescue to get your stuck vehicle back)...
And I have ZERO interest in driving simulators normally. But here I actually enjoy the travel, constant challenge but no killing / combat or high peaks of stress, getting to the destination is just a bonus, not the goal with just a long "interactive" load screen to get there. Opening up a new sandbox area is a new adventure.
Not Skyward Sword.
I haven’t been gaming very hard the last couple weeks, but oddly enough have been game shopping hard. 😅
I have GOT to finally finish Subnautica and clear the deck before I can play Cris Tales or one of the Super Robot Wars games that are on the way from Japan.
Subnautica has taught me I’m very bad at open-world exploration - I think I push too hard early on before I’m equipped and familiarized with things, and then I forget where the notable spots I visited were! Ugh.
I’m this close to googling where to find a blue tablet. 😓
Life is Strange 2 for me. As for Switch, I've been finding Everhood fun but frustrating on its suggested "hard" mode. Sorry but I don't have enough gaming time to fail over and over. Game Journalist difficulty it is.
@karatekid1612
I found that if you fish spare tires out of rivers and then craft and place a tire stack somewhere, it’s garbage-ness tends to attract flies.
@Teksetter thank you, just off to make one now and fingers crossed!!
Maybe some Mario Golf Super Rush and Smash Bros.
@karatekid1612
If I remember correctly, just collect tires and the recipe will occur to you naturally.
Have fun cleaning up your island! 😄
Yakuza Kiwami and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
@Teksetter thanks again, made the stack, placed and now waiting patiently as I type. And yep, lots of rubbish to clear up after I've snared the lil critter!!
The certain ones:
Pokemon Unite
Zelda skyward sword HD
Mario sonic olympic games
Mario kart 8
Shenmue 3 on ps4 and several of my many wii games I've rebought (or in the case of Mario Kart Wii) games I've bought for the first time.
Excellent! I hope it works 👍🏼
Monster Hunter Rise even though Skyward Sword chatter keeps tempting me to buy it… but anytime I buy & start a 3D Zelda I never finish them! 😤 bought God Eater 3 on a sale as well
Happy gaming everyone !
Skyward Sword HD and some Mario kart Double Dash for me...
Skyward sword. Never played it on the wii was release and have have to say I’m loving it so far
Just finished Wargroove! Fun gameplay, paper thin story…
Still pushing through Persona 5 Strikers (just beat the 4th jail)
Started A Hat in Time (so far its okay)
To who ever recommended "ittle do 2" well, i am on the last dungeon and i am about to quit. It is not a bad game, i had fun in the 5 hours or so playing. But it is also not a game that compells me to finish. A really good game is a game you have to finish. I don't regret the purchase, but i would regret putting more time into it. I think "blossom tales" is comparable, and a much better game.
I am trying to get into "sky" but i have been playing it handheld. I think when I can play it on tv, it will be better.
Happy gaming everyone!
If I have enough time I’ll start Cris Tales. But only if I can finish Steamworld Dig 2. What a fantastic game
Mostly skyward sword. I may play some mario golf though.
You can probably tell by my profile picture but it’s my favorite game of all time bug fables! And also playing some mother 3 as well, both phenomenal games.
@chapu2006 you really should be playing fusion because dread follows on from part 4. But, I imagine it is quite difficult to get a copy.
Watching the Olympics and Mario Golf
1. Skyward Sword HD
2. ACNH
3. Smash Ultimate
@GrailUK Have you finished the GBG tutorials yet? I just finished one last night. Just two more tutorial games to make.
I have some relatively simple game ideas I want to try making, but I want to finish the tutorials first.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I enjoyed Origami King. A lot of pleasant surprises in the game. It has its faults, but I liked it better than Color Splash.
@Tandy255 I'm in the same boat. Have a couple of tutorials to do (it's brill how they make them so entertaining) then I want to see about some mechanics I have in my head. I have a lot of itches I have never scratched lol.
This week I will be mostly playing
Skyward Sword
@IndoorHero throw in Monster Hunter Stories 2 and that's my weekend! So great to jump back in to the ME universe!
I've been playing Skyward Sword non-stop since its release. It's so good and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Just beat Tentalus and I'm about to get the next song.
Also, Coheed and Cambria released a new single, "Shoulders" and I've already listened to it over 100 times. It's a real banger and I love it. Hopefully the new album is announced soon with a release date.
I plan on digging into Mario+Rabbids. My first time, and I’m impressed so far—a few battles have offered a challenge but nothing frustrating.
Ghosts 'n Goblins on Capcom Stadium Arcade, Gradius on Nintendo Switch Online... in another old school mood.
Dragon Quest XI… trying to save Sniflheim from the evil hands of Krystalinda.
Hoping to finish SMT Nocturne and Bug Fables this week (I’m at the final boss for each), and continuing through with Ace Attorney Trilogy (I’m hitting myself for having never played this series).
Definitely picking up either NEO: TWEWY or Great Ace Attorney this week
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Finally escaped our captor and now playing Indiana Jones in the jungle!
Minecraft: Story Mode (Windows 10) - After a few delays, I'm finally ready to start Episode 4.
Doodle God (Windows Phone) - Still playing here and there.
I've been playing a lot of Ecco the Dolphin and Pokemon Yellow. I'm kinda burnt out, so I'll try to finish Azure Striker Gunvolt.
@Moistnado it's an Anbernic 351p with a GBA bezel from Etsy. The thumbstick covers are from ebay. This thing is a retro Nintendo beast
@Longondo 100% Super is still my favourite in the series but Origami King was absolutely great and is easily in my top ten favourite switch games due to how much it surprised me with its quality
Tbh I bought SS tried it in handheld mode, the controls were so bad it put me off playing it all together.
So. Pokémon Yellow through emulation it is
I'm playing it cool.
Finally getting back to WITCHER 3 on the Switch. That and maybe some BURNOUT PARADISE. Was really hoping to dive into the SoR4 Mr.X's Nightmare DLC.....
MHS2 and like to get Twilight fired up...
Downloading Neo: The World Ends with You demo right now. Besides that probably just BotW and Boomerang Fu.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Death's door and i'm loving it!
Such a wonderful world, music and loveable characters.
I've been 8 hours in it and keep going.
Went back to Age of Calamity after a long time not playing it. Couldn't get past a particular level and abandoned it. After 4 attempts this weekend I got through it and I'm closing in on finishing now. Love it.
@kostasfil hearing lots of good things about it. Is it on Switch or where are you playing it?
Skyward Sword HD. I've grinded the HD remasters back-to-back and all three were great in their own ways.
@blockfight
It's surprising to hear someone going back to it. That game is quite underappreciated.
Skyward Sword. I can see the faults of the game but at the same time, I am enjoying it massively.
It is still a Zelda game, and that always means entertainment!
I also bought Origami King (second hand) so I might take a glance at that too.
Deadly Premonition 2
Found a cheap physical copy. Put it in my Switch and now I’m obsessed with that game. Technically it’s a disaster but man, the world, the character, the dialogs. I LOVE this game.
Enter the Gungeon grind for the last two weeks. Didn't make it to the end yet but it's fun to see the progress.
1. Animal Crossing
2. CrisTales
3. PC games
4. LoZ Skyward Sword HD
I'm in the home stretch of Star Ocean: First Departure R so I'm just gonna put my foot on the gas to get it over with. M+R:KB is next and possibly something else in my backlog.
Skyrim for me
@Whatsmyname checked out that song not bad reminds me of some led zeppelin stuff . . The song I will mention is credit to the nation call it what you want xx
I work weekends so I don't get very much gaming time in at all if any. When my days off come on Wednesday and Thursday however I'll be playing either Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart on PS5 or New Pokemon Snap on Switch.
@Papichulo I have an Anbernic 330m or something. It is metal and only had one thumb stick, I think it is the smallest one. It plays anything 2D, even classic arcade games like Aliens Vs Predator.
Started Wattam earlier today and I’m ok if it’s the only game I play til The Forgotten City (and maybe Ace Attorney Chronicles) comes out.
@wazlon yeah… i really think that The formula of getting a new item in a real dungeon is the Zelda magic that makes it flow as it’s supposed to be. Not that “runes” ***** we got in BotW. And all from the get go. I think that’s what disrupted the Zelda flow in that game. Everything else was perfect. (Except the boss designs, ugh I hated those Ganon fragments, so generic)
I finished Dragon Quest XI finally this past week, so now I'm on to other games! It was absolutely amazing, and definitely one of my favorite games on the Switch. Now I'm gonna put my focus on Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny. I'm currently on episode 6, and while it definitely isn't my favorite entry in the series, it's been pretty enjoyable. I'll probably also play some Dead By Daylight and Mario Golf: Super Rush with my friends.
Pokemon Unite has lowkey been really fun, so more of that.
@ModdedInkling I love it but I hit a wall with a certain section a few months back. I was determined to go back to it someday because I loved the story and even the gameplay was surprisingly fun. I'm closing in on the finish now. It's probably in my top 5 favourite Switch games.
I am deep into Subnautica (pun intended), and playing Guilty Gear Strive, also popping into Smash Bros. Ultimate now that all the random Kazuyas are gone.
I also recently got a replacement monitor that can swivel around to a vertical orientation, so I’ve been playing Downwell in Tate Mode pretty regularly. An all time great arcade-style game in my mind.
Zelda skyward and some Pokémon unite 😊
@blockfight
I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it. Personally, it's also within my top 5 favourites (it's also one of my most-played Switch games). Don't worry, that wall won't be there for long.
i completed all mission of Monster Hunter Rise and waiting for the next lackluster update for Animal Crossing New Horizon, or waiting for Metroid Dread.
Splatoon 2
Super Metroid
Shining Resonance Refrain
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
@Moistnado I don't even have a gamecube. XD
Skyward Sword HD all the way for me this weekend. Never played it on Wii so it's all brand new to me
I’m playing quite if few different titles at the moment…
Horizon Chase Turbo
Ruiner
Metro 2033
Risk of Rain 2
Hollow Knight
MH Rise
Although I prefer focusing on 1-2 titles at a time…I’m now embracing my multitasking of gaming! I’m seasoned across many different genres of gaming so why not enjoy them? You truly can never have enough good games to play. Happy weekend everyone!
going back and forth and forth between Skyward Sword, Death Stranding, and Yakuza Like a Dragon!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Breath of the Wild, Link's Awakening, and maybe some Minecraft
Wind Waker HD and Advance Wars on Wii U. They aren’t exaggerating when they talk about how long that tutorial section of Advance Wars is.
@Spiders
Subnautica has been on my radar, I’ll likely finally take a dive …yup, blatant pun right there. I’ve heard the Switch version is a bit buggy can this be confirmed or debunked? Cheers!
@Rainz I played on PS4 and PC, and seen a fair share of bugs. Mostly minor, nothing game-breaking. Not sure if Switch is better or worse.
I hope you enjoy it! It’s really an amazing game.
This weekend is going to be full of Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation on the 3DS!
I was also able to snag my best friend a PS5 after dozens of attempts, so we're gonna be jumping on Battlefield 4 in preparation for BF 2042 releasing in a few months!
Happy gaming everyone
@Rainz I like that approach! I try to play 2-3 games at the same time until those get finished, then I swap out whichever one got finished for the next. I need to make a backlog list haha
I tend to play a lot of story games, so I make 1 game the main story one, then 1-2 other smaller titles. Currently playing through Ratchet & Clank as well as Ender Lilies for the smaller titles. Ender Lilies is a great metroidvania!
Ninja Gaiden Shadow
Contra
Legend of Zelda
Dark Souls
1. Twilight Princess HD (Wii U): playing through TP for the first time after 10 years. Still great, HD much welcome.
2. Fire Emblem (GBA): playing through the GBA original after a VERY long time.
3. PICROSS 3D (DS): Love Picross; can’t get enough of it. I play through a few puzzles every so often.
4. Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4): can’t believe I haven’t completed this game during the pandemic. Great game, but I pick it up and drop it for weeks at a time.
5. Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch): still grinding through the History maps. Well over 100 hours into the game.
@Zuljaras Nice games true castlevania fan
Legend of Zelda skyward sword hd on switch and world of warships on Xbox 😉😉
@mokko22 Dragon Quest XI was my first Dragon Quest game. I was blown away by how good it was. My game of 2019 without a doubt. The story is brilliant, the look of the game is amazing. And it has a great mix of humour, sadness and drama.
@ItsATM
That’s been very much my approach as well, maybe focus on a 1-2 story driven titles and compliment those with games that are more pick up and play! I’ve heard great thinks about Ratchet and Clank, I’ve yet to pick up a new next gen console…I need you as a friend lol!! Battlefield sounds like it’ll be a blast!…another unforced pun.
You know I’m very much all for accumulating a backlog of great titles but I feel it’s getting out of hand. Too many great games aren’t getting played…just another icon to add to the mosaic of titles on our home screens. Life is too short ppl! Play through your backlogs, these games were made to be played! Cheers!
@Spiders
Yeah think I’m gonna give Subnautica a go! If it’s my cup of tea then I’ll give Below Zero a chance as well! Hopefully the Switch version isn’t too much of a drop down overall , seems like a great title to be able to play on the go! Thanks for the reply!
@Rainz I’m excited for you! I’m literally firing it up right now haha. Any questions I’d be happy to help as spoiler-free as possible:)
I highly recommend headphones for immersion, or not headphones if you’re terrified!
@WiltonRoots It is also my first Dragon Quest game and it's a pleasure to play. I agree with you in everything you say. It sure is one of my favorite games of 2019.
Played The Silver Case 2425 and some Ninja Gaiden.
I am deep into Starlink Battle for Atlas. So much fun with this game. And, mixing it up with some Grindstone battles. Both heavily addicting.
I wasn't sure what was going to happen this weekend, but I'm happy that I finally got back around to my favorite Switch game, Dragon Quest 11S, which I had gotten a good deal of the way into before life got in the way. And during ball games and other TV events, I've been playing Harvest Moon Hero of Leaf Valley.
I finished The Last of us Part 2. It was so intense that I wanted to jump into something lighter. So I started the Skyward Sword HD and it only made me realizes I never really dove into Breathe of the Wild. So I jumped over to that and am now five hours in and hopelessly addicted. I love it!
I finished Infini this past weekend, and I have to say, for once I kind of disagree with Nintendo Life's review. Or at least, I feel like it deserves more than a 7. Yes, it's a weird game, but simply labeling it as "very weird" sort of misses the point. I feel like a better term would be "avant-garde". Once you get past the kind of gross visuals and make sense of the confusing storytelling, you find a very interesting story, a fantastic soundtrack (if you happen to be into abstract/experimental electronica, which I AM, thank you), and you even start to really enjoy the crazy visual style the farther you get. Or at least, I did. But mainly it's the gameplay... every set of levels is ridiculously creative, and just when you're starting to get bored of them the game moves on to a new set of levels with crazy new rules, so it rarely gets old. Anyway... anyone reading this far my have guessed that I was pretty surprised at how much I REALLY liked this game. I DO understand that it's not going to be for everyone, but personally it's now firmly in my top 5 Switch games (out of the 40-or-so that I've played).
And now it's on to Sword of Vermilion on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Collection, because I have a race to win!
@Rainz So true, I couldn't have said it better! I would love to be friends! You should send me a request my SW code is 4488-1286-1797. If you have or end up getting a PS console, you can find me at heyheyitsATM
Looking forward to clearing out our backlogs!
I finished Skyward Sword really fast — a few days ago. Wishing I had Wind Waker or Twilight Princess to try next. I'll probably jump back on MoHun Rise now
@blockfight
Sorry for the long time it took me to respond.
It isn't on switch yet, I played it on series x. But I hope it will come to every platform eventually.
