Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Six Fighters In Official Kombat Pack DLC

@roy130390 Yeah, I get the point of the show. My issue is that its not particularly clever or nuanced, at least in the season I watched. The characters are too flat, unlikeable, and predictable to really sell the whole subversion of the super hero genre. So yeah, when the “Super Hero bad” charm wears off its just another paint by numbers show with some edge.

Also, for the record you totally could just remove Godzilla and friends from a good amount of the Kaiju flicks. Many of them function as disaster mcguffins to get the characters moving during an emergency. Not really the generalization you think it is.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Version 16.0.1 Out Now On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Since I mostly play on PC I might just “speed up” the anomaly grind so I can actually reach the research quota for upgrades and new content. Aside from the grind I really enjoyed Sunbreak and am a little sad its over. Outstanding expansion and the title updates brought a lot to the table in terms of builds and content. Now that everything is out I can see myself tinkering with the insane amount of options available now.

Re: Xbox Boss Says Call Of Duty Would Run "Relatively Great Compared To Other Switch Games"

I wonder if this is really just one big bet for Microsoft to see how long they need to wait before they start rolling out Gamepass tiers and price hikes. If they win and the buyout gets approved, do they wait for the playerbase to get hooked in before they start hiking? If they lose, they’ll probably do it sooner as there isn’t much more to tap into for larger player counts(aside from better exclusives of course). Either way, I really don’t see any benefit for consumers after this.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)

SpoonySpoons

I got a PS5 this week, so just playing games on that. Ghost of Tsushima with a little bit of Demon Souls until my copy of FF16 arrives.

Aside from that I might give Pikmin a try if I have time. Now that the Switch has easy access to every single title, I don’t see any reason not to play through them finally.

Re: Japanese Charts: Etrian Odyssey Origins Sees Strong Debut, But Nothing Troubles Zelda: TOTK

@MS7000 Ignore the other guy, Street Fighter historically has never really been huge in Japan, though the number is pretty low compared to say, SF4 back in ‘09. One reason for this could be due to PS5 install base in Japan, on top of other fighting games such as GG Strive being prevalent. Home consoles in particular also aren’t super popular there either. Most of Street Fighters tail carries through western markets and post launch support.
