Unless a miracle happens and this goes on sale, this is gonna be a hard pass from me. This feels like stuff that should’ve been in the original in the first place.
@claybirds I was always under the assumption that it wasn’t so much guilt Frodo felt, but more a longing for the ring and the baggage associated with his quest. Leaving with Bilbo is more of an allegory for their souls finally finding rest after a long battle.
@TromaDogg I’ve noticed mileage has varied with a lot of switch titles. I had a ton of issues with RoN even after the patches, but it seems a lot of others had a pretty good experience. Likewise, I’ve heard of some performance issues with Xenoblade 3, but it ran damn near flawlessly for me.
@Poodlestargenerica I’m having a hard time getting excited , but the concept alone is pretty interesting. Always loved Gollum and what he represented as a reflection of Frodos struggle. Gandalfs advice to Frodo in regards to not passing judgment on Gollum too quickly is one that I think back on a lot.
@Greatluigi Personally I think its a relatively minor complaint, especially in a medium where you’re forced to read anyways. I can see how its a dealbreaker for people who don’t like JP VAs though. I personally don’t mind it either way. I’ve heard good and bad from either language, especially in the dark days of the mid 2010s anime dubs.
@Nin10doh In all fairness, more recent media has toyed with how these forms are utilized in ways that aren’t just power boosts
Couple examples being:
Goku toggling between different super saiyan forms to both maneuver better, and save on stamina during a long fight.
Goku attempting and failing to use his most recent power-up because he couldn’t get the focus he needed during a high intensity fight
Broly being ungodly strong, but getting bodied due to his lack of fighting experience.
While excessive and blatantly for marketing, I do think they’ve been more creative with it than just blanket powerups from the original Dragonball runs.
I’ve only ever played Steins ; Gate and a bit of Robotic ; Notes, but this is still pretty exciting to see these getting localized. Steins ; Gate was a masterpiece.
Doesn’t look terrible, but definitely very amateurish. Hoping the developers were able to get some good experience from this, and the project gives them some good returns.
@Nanami_Ataraxia Thanks for the write-up! The gameplay loop definitely sounds interesting. When I come across some splurge money I think I’ll check Ryza 1 out.
@abbyhitter I enjoyed it a lot as someone relatively inexperienced with the SaGa franchise. None of the stories overstayed their welcome, and each one offered a rather unique way to play. One neat aspect I found was that the world you explore is mostly the same in each story, but events play out differently in each. Because of this, you’re able to take advantage of what you know about a specific town or dungeon and use it to get ahead a bit quicker.

Re: Countdown: 3DS eShop Spotlight - Dragon Quest Wars
Lol this game sucked, and I’ll usually eat up anything Dragon Quest. Hardly worth putting on a spotlight.

Re: Random: This New Pokémon Model Lets You Create Your Own Slowpoke Circle
@Fizza There’s a significant number of model kit fans and slowpoke fans who are into this though. Not everything has to chase a trend.

Someone sell me on these games. Not huge into the moe aesthetic, but some of the things I’ve heard about the crafting sound interesting to me.
