Things just start to quieten down after the release of Tears of the Kingdom and then before you know it, BAM, you walk head first into summer showcase season.

This means that it has been a reasonably busy week at Nintendo Life. We broke down everything announced for the Switch in the Summer Game Fest Opening Showcase (which wasn't all that many titles, but at least we got a first look at Sonic Superstars), dropped the totally tubular news that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge will be getting some new DLC, heard of a fresh batch of titles coming to Nintendo Switch Online, and had a surprise trailer for Pikmin 4.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Zelda has slipped our minds completely. This week, we spoke out against TOTK's busier world, asked which version of Link's Awakening is your favourite and all gave our thoughts on whether we are going to see a June 2023 Direct.

Over in the world of reviews, we took a look at the short-but-sweet metroidvania CONVERGENCE: A League of Legends Story and delved into Bleak Sword DX, "a surprising, stripped-down Soulslike".

Now, some of our wonderful team have come together to share their gaming plans for the weekend. Have a read of what we're up to and then take to the comments to get involved yourself.

We'll kick off with a rather to-the-point answer from the wonderful Alex...

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

I wish I could tell you I won’t be playing Tears of the Kingdom, but we know that’d be a lie. To balance things out this week, though, I did pick up Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen as part of the Summer Sale on the eShop. I’ve got some friends who adore this one, so it’s time to find out what all of the fuss is about.

Otherwise, I think it’s another weekend trying to make the most of the weather. Cold drinks in hand, of course. And trailer season has me a little bit hyped for way too many things that I don’t have time for, but I’ll try my best to squeeze it all in, darn it!

I finally rolled credits on Tears of the Kingdom last week and I have been at a loss for what to do with myself ever since. Of course, I still have a good 80% of the world still to explore, but I don't quite feel that sense of rush to do everything as quickly as is humanly possible since I am hopefully out of the spoiler trenches now with all of the story behind me.

Perhaps I will finally get around to putting a few more hours into Hollow Knight this weekend. I naively put it down for TOTK thinking "I'm sure I'll be able to pick this back up in a few weeks, no bother", but now I'm worried that my reflexes might not be up to the job. You have a paraglider in Hollow Knight, right?

This weekend I’m travelling to Canada, and to kill time on the plane, well, I’ll be playing on my Switch and 3DS. On my Switch, I’ll be jumping back into some Persona 4 Golden since I’ve been taking a long Zelda break.

On my 3DS, it’s Shovel Knight time. I’ve tried getting into it multiple times, but it wasn’t until I got the 3DS version that it clicked! With those 2 games, I should be covered for the long trip, wahoo!

This weekend I'm playing (drum roll please) Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! Except I'm actually not. It's the Wholesome Direct, so I'm working, but maybe I'll get a few minutes here and there for Zelda-ing... especially as I feel like everyone else is so far ahead of me! I've only managed to do two of the temples so far. I'm hoping to also start Failbetter's new game, Mask of the Rose, if I get time.

Strange pleasure to find Mystery Tower (aka Babel) on NSO this week, a very interesting single-screen puzzle platformer from Namco that was never officially released in the West. If you can make it past the first room, congratulations! We Love Katamari Re-Roll is also on this weekend's plans along with a bit more of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

Game of the week remains The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I’m at that point where I go to bed and dream I’m still playing the game. I am currently haunted by the final quest, but not yet — too much to do, so much to still see in this open-world Hyrule...

Ahoy folks, this weekend I’ll be busy getting myself ready for the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday but I’m hoping to find some time to continue playing Railbound. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s this charming train puzzler. Honestly, it’s such a lovely game, I highly recommend it!

If I’m lucky, I’ll keep grinding on Diablo IV too. I’m 3 levels away from a level 50 Druid, so I’m eager to pass that milestone!

Happy gaming!
