@Dang_69 I attack because you're pushing the usual doom and gloom narrative by making conclusive "this is how the whole game plays out and it will be bad" type of statements from small pieces of advertisement material while blowing it out of proportion as the whole game experience that you pretend to know as a fact.
Again, you don't know what the whole experience is, you saw few marketing materials and twisted the whole thing into a giant negative push of "Marines bad because Miles annoying and marines meanes no muh isolation and the whole experience is ruined".
What I want is an actual story with meaningful stakes, lore development and characters that aren't mute cardboard cutouts instead of another Metroid Prime 1 where your whole story is just scanning everything for 20 hours. If you find that exciting then great but this series needs to move its ass forward in terms of story and lore progression already.
Alien Isolation(heh) felt more isolating than any Metroid Prime game and it had tons of characters besides Ripley in it. Same with Dead Space. Same with a huge chunk of Resident Evil games. Stop making conclusive statements before the full game is out.
@Dang_69 I think you're overreacting way too much from seeing 20 minutes of footage of a 20 hour game. Stop making conclusive statements on how its "bad" and being a reactionary when you don't know anything about the full game.
People keep complaining but as someone who likes Metroid's lore and story and absolutely loves Metroid's manga and read all of it - I welcome this, give me more actual story and plot progression in Metroid god damn it. Hell I want Samus to actually start speaking in future games as much as that will bother some of you here.
Samus is an awesome character and the Metroid world is extremely rich and interesting but because of Other M everyone just now has instant reaction to story/Samus speaking/other characters as "HERESY, WHERE'S MY ISOLATION".
You all had 10+ Metroid games already doing the exact same shtick y'all want, it's time to change up the Prime series at least somewhat and have it sell beyond the usual 1-2 million units(especially if the budget being 100 million is true).
They left this game to die for like 8 months on Switch and nobody's playing it online anymore so updating it with extremely late ranked matches and PAID characters seems like a waste of time.
They took so god damn long with this that I expected they'd at least be making a Switch 2 version with crossplay enabled at this point. You have devkits ArcSys, did Nintendo give them to you only to make a 30 minute animated slideshow novel?
@ValentineMeikin Xbox aren't innocent either actually, they blocked the release of GalGun on Xbox so IntiCreates had to cancel it and release them only on Switch/PC.
@Dm9982 just a heads up, you can still buy them for Switch on the Japanese Eshop. They released them there with full English language support, the problem is with the western branch blocking the release.
Censorship sucks and Nintendo of America needs to get off of their high horse already. What's with this draconian iron grip in these past 2 years and blocking legit 3rd party Japanese publishers yet they keep allowing all these AI and hentai puzzle slop all day every day on eshop?
What happened to being a more open platform compared to Playstation that lets the rating boards handle what needs to be handled? Hopefully Shibata taking over as American CEO in January will lead to reverting all this.
I always liked this game. It's one of those games during the PS360 era that changed the formula like Splinter Cell Conviction.
And while that and Absolution aren't like the traditional games in their respective franchises - they're still very fun action games with stealth elements and I thoroughly enjoy them.
@PharoneTheGnome if they did that then people would just abuse it. They'd insert the game, have it installed and then bring it back to the store for a refund or sell it back to the clerk.
@Paraka your concern is a different issue entirely and is just moving the goalpost. "You're isolating to just Switch" No, i'm isolating it to gaming which is what we're talking about.
You're talking about an ability to buy games, none of the big 3 or Steam have ever taken the ability from you to redownload the games you've bought if they ever were taken down from purchase for any reason, even those such as licensing.
Even if you bought the CN games you just talked about now physically, they didn't have all the data on the cart and you wanted to play them on your Switch or Switch 2 - the files are literally up on the server for you to download them and play the game right now, it doesn't need to be available for purchase.
If you bought a game - it will still be tied to your account, there's no ifs, buts and ors around it. Making up doomsday scenarios is not a compeling point and why I can't take anyone online about this issue seriously. It's nothing but hypotheticals based on no evidence and "maybe the servers will go down 50 years into the future".
@Paraka it hasn't affected you, you can still redownload all the files from eshop even if it was taken down from sale, how is it this hard to understand?
@Paraka this is a non-issue because you and people like you who keep speaking on "eshop and store takedowns" don't know what you're talking about.
I have plenty of games that were taken down due to licensing and I can still redownload them no problem on Switch 1. The files to download the games are still on Nintendo servers, you just can't buy them again
@SillyG You're being charged for a game that still needs to pay 30% royalties to the store even if it's a game key card. Or are we suddenly fine with 80$ video games as long as they're on cart?
GKC game still follows the same payment rules as a physical game sold at retail. As much as you people like to pretend it's just a floating digital ghost on the shelf - it's not.
@TheDragonDAFan who are you asking HERE for it? Are we in control of physical distribution? What's the point of whining about it under every single article? Do you think Nintendo reads NintendoLife?
Already got Kiwami 1 and 2 preloaded and ready, can't wait!
Great packed week for Switch 2 in general: both Yakuza games, Sparking Zero, Hitman Absolution, Ryza DX Trilogy, Inazuma Eleven and Goodnight Universe.
@dskatter from what I heard it might be 30fps on PS5 as well because some stuff in the game goes haywire rendering at 60fps even on PC.
Dragon Engine is also pretty demanding in this game as it cant reach 60fps on a Steam Deck or Rog Ally no matter how much you tinker with the settings even at their lower 800p. At best they can go up to 40fps.
I'll never understand most of you here. Denying yourself an experience because of your obsession with data being on a piece of plastic instead of your console storage, all because of a made up doomsday scenario 50 years into the future is quite silly.
Switch cartridges won't even last that long themselves before they go haywire, just look at the reports of 3DS cartridges already acting kinda funky and it's been only 10 years lol

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team
@Dang_69 "What I want from this type of game"
You've had 15 instances of "this type of game" from this franchise for the past 30 years already, go play those.
I don't want another Metroid Prime where 98% of the story is Samus filling up her silent diary about alien plants for 20 hours again.

@Mariotag the Deluxe Edition is which is, the one that comes with the season pass. It's 30% off rn which makes it 55$ instead of 80$.
With the 5$ Switch 2 upgrade that means you'll have the full Switch 2 Edition of the game with all DLC included for 60$ Day One!

Grabbed Sonic Crossworlds, a no-brainer right before the Switch 2 upgrade in 2 weeks.

Do you expect Nintendo to break the laws of physics to bring you 60fps in PS5 games on a docked tablet?
