Re: Review: Yooka-Replaylee (Switch 2) - Feels Like The Game It Was Meant To Be, Finally

I understand being disappointed about 30fps at launch but god damn do y'all have to be so toxic and nasty about it? Especially when the game launches in such an absolutely gorgeous looking state at 1440p on Switch 2?

This isn't some lazy port they threw in and gave no crap about like Little Nightmares 3, you can see they pushed for the best looking version for launch and left performance mode for later and idk if I can disagree with that choice.

Bruh Bandai's technical side of their Switch 2 games has been an absolute god damn joke. Shadow Labyrinth framedropping, DBZ Sparking Zero at 810p and now this? What a waste of devkits.

What's the point of this game having a Switch 2 version if it's just the Switch 1 version with the same framerate cap and no changes? The graphics are literally exactly the same as well if you look at comparison tests, they havent changed anything between 2 versions.

I love how a huge chunk of 3rd party games on Switch 1 came with only the smallest portion on cart and you HAD to download the rest to play the game but now everyone compares it to Switch 2 as if it was some perfect physical haven.

GTA Trilogy? Not fully on cart.
Every single sports game? Not complete on cart.
Mega Man Collections? Not complete on cart.
Resident Evil Collections? Not complete on cart.
Mortal Kombat games? Not complete on cart.
LA Noire? Not complete on cart.
Assassins Creed games? Not complete on cart.
Spyro and Crash Collections? Not complete on cart.
Bioshock and Borderlands collections? Not complete on cart.
Final Fantasy 10? Not complete on cart.
Devil May Cry collection? Not complete on cart.
Wolfenstein 2? Not complete on cart.
Hogwarts Legacy? Not complete on cart.
Tony Hawk Remakes? Not complete on cart.
Batman Arkham Collection? Not complete on cart.
MGS Collection? Not complete on cart.

Do I even need to continue?!?!?!?! You people saying "the grass was greener" live on some other planet or didn't play any 3rd party games on Switch 1 to begin with lol

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

Solid_Python

Counterpoint: Switch 1 version sucks and looks like absolute bollocks. It looks like a low resolution Wii game and it's locked to 30fps. Playing it now on Switch 2 feels pointless and you're just giving yourself a lesser experience when instead you can just wait for the upgrade and by the time that happens the game is gonna be like 50% off.

Paying full price for this game right now as a Switch 2 owner is basically a ripoff and saying that the Switch 1 version still better than Mario Kart World is wild.

Re: More Switch Games Get Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes

Solid_Python

@Anti-Matter "Better"? This is just objectively false, it's not even a matter of opinion. Yes every single game ran but they ran exactly the same as they did on the old hardware meaning a Wii game with performance problems still ran with those exact problems on Wii U.

Meanwhile Switch 2 backwards compatibility automatically improves games without even patching anything because it's bruteforcing to push framerates and resolution to be at their peak.

When Playstation 5 launched with a list of games with problems, as it's using the same way to backcompat as Switch 2, did you throw as much of a stink? I don't think so and I smell some obvious revisionist history/bias here, because you literally keep grandstanding your Church of Playstation under this very article.

Games like Senran Kagura on PS5 literally remain broken even today because Playstation is refusing to let Marvelous fix the game.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Review?

Solid_Python

This feels like Sega is just doing it on purpose at this point because they don't want negative press from their less than stellar Switch 1 ports which is shady as hell.

"oooohhh, just look at the shiny PS5 version pre-release, ignore the Nintendo version, we won't send review codes for those!!!1!!!1!"

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Director Highlights The Speed Problem With Switch 2 Game Cards

Solid_Python

@Serpenterror yeah and Cyberpunk might've had to actually sacrifice things to make the game work off of slower loading speeds of the cartridge which would explain the streets of Night City being practically empty on Switch 2. Less things to load - less speed needed.

You all keep bringing up this game as an example when it might be an example of how a game was gimped from being a better experience on Switch 2 for people like me who dont care about this borderline plastic obsession y'all have. All because of the cartridge and it's slow reading speed.
