Re: Persona 3 Reload Switch 2 Performance Update Now Live, Targets 60fps In Docked Mode

Solid_Python

FINALLY, genuinely excited Atlus listened and gave us what we asked for! Switch Corner did a performance review on the patch and 60fps mode is great, it seems to drop to 57-58 at most during the school segment because of how many NPCs are on screen, otherwise the game is locked 60 for 90% of the time.

@Interneto still 30 but at least they got rid of stutter so now its much more smoother feeling than it was before.

Re: Switch 2's Mario Kart World Bundle Has Apparently Reached The End Of Its Lifecycle

Solid_Python

@LastFootnote where does it say in that article that the Switch 2 sales "dropped off quite precipitously"? Brand new consoles being outsold during November by an older console that is going on huge discounts isn't anything new, same happened with Switch 1 in 2017 which was outsold by PS4, same thing happened with PS5 which was outsold by Switch 1 in 2020 and 2021.

Obviously overall hardware in general is down because Xbox is out of the picture and nobody's buying them. Not to mention the fact that this is for 1 region for 1 month, in UK Switch 2 was 40%+ in November compared to last year, I don't even need to mention how much it's dominating in Japan.

Re: "A Really Good Experience" - Digital Foundry Dives Into Switch 2's Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo

Solid_Python

@OrtadragoonX the resolution is actually more than just "pure 1080p". The native resolution is 1080p yes but the game does use tiny DLSS docked as well. The DF Crew said that the result it provided was an image that was close to PS5 Performance mode(1512p) and that it looked sharper even than the Xbox Series S Quality Mode(1440p). Good old DLSS letting Switch 2 punch way above it's weight lol

Calling this "just a PS4 version" is categorically wrong on every single level because the only thing it shares with PS4 is a 30fps cap, everything else is much better including lighting, textures, asset loading etc.

Re: "A Really Good Experience" - Digital Foundry Dives Into Switch 2's Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo

Solid_Python

Oliver said that the internal resolution is 1080p but DLSS is pushing it closer to PS5 Performance mode which is 1512p (and even sharper than Series S 1440p mode) and he can't put a specific number on it, so I wonder if the final output resolution target is more than likely 1440p?

If it is then I wish Hamaguchi kinda clarified it in the interviews because he made it sound like it's gonna be running at raw 1080p docked without any upscaling and that's it.

Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic

Solid_Python

@Pat_trick I don't need to "challenge" your points because your points are the same boring cliche people like you constantly parrot without any substance behind it.

You're not providing any riveting discussion or commentary here by saying "Switch 2 is less powerfull than a PS5" yeah no sh1t Sherlock, PS5 is a giant white coffin that eats 200w of power while constantly needing to be connected to a power socket.

And yet you EXPECT Nintendo to produce a hybrid hardware that pushes to the same limits as that coffin at 450$ at 10-25watts when even 1000$-1500$ portable PC's can't reach that power? Holy technically innept Batman. Switch 2 isn't "uNdErPoWeReD", you're not scaling it's power fairly in any way, shape or form.

But please, do remind us how glad you are that you didn't buy a Switch 2 yet you're still constantly on this website.

Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic

Solid_Python

@Pat_trick yeah no, not gonna work here buddy. Your comment history shouldn't be ignored because it shows your clear constant focus on this website, it shows your intent and your Push Square comment history supports that as well.

Well would you look at that at the sister Playstation website - nothing but constant gloating about how Xbox and Nintendo are competing in who's the worst, how Switch 2 is underpowered trash, handwaving publishers saying PS5 is too expensive in Japan, YOU YOURSELF handwaving performance issues on PS5 with the latest one being on Borderlands 4 saying "I will just buy it when it gets patched in a year or two" and nothing else.

But wait, what happend about "criticizing the pipeline of development" in constantly giant paragraphs like you do about Nintendo? Where's your comment about how Playstation is an underpowered trash that can't handle games? Hmmmmm, but on the Nintendo website the comment history from you is nothing but constant pessimism and skepticism towards Nintendo, calling Switch 2 underpowered from the day it was revealed, posting nothing but negative takes and contrarianism yet i'm supposed to take you and what you say seriously?

You work under the clear agenda my guy and your comment history supports that, you're not fooling anyone here. Engaging with you or what you're saying is pointless because you're nothing more than just another boring concern troll that is here to farm ragebait talking points while trying to present himself as "holier than thou".

Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic

Solid_Python

@Pat_trick considering your entire comment history on this website is nothing but constant skepticism and pessimism against Nintendo - no, you are the caricature of that guy online.

I don't believe you hold the same standards towards other platforms because there's no basis in me beliving you beyond your word, your word which is nothing but complaining about Nintendo 90% of the time.

Constantly parroting "Switch 2 is underpowered" is categorically wrong for the type of device it is. It's underpowered if you compare it to nothing but 200w giant coffins that are constantly tethered to sockets. It's a powerful hybrid device especially for it's price, that's not debatable.

Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic

Solid_Python

@Pat_trick I love how whenever a game launches in a pisspoor state on PS5/Xbox/PC its "the developer/engine/publisher/literally everything under the sun" issue but when the exact same thing happens on Switch 2 it's "omg underpowered trash, developers already hitting the limit, Nintendo is cooked, they need taylor made ports" etc

The double standards are real and absolutely ridiculous.

Re: Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition Update And DLC Finally Available

Solid_Python

Lmao they want 7$ for each character, you can't even get a pass or something to save money meaning it's 21$ for 3 characters that are gonna be missing content from other versions.

For the amount of time they made everyone wait for these it should've been free, what's the point of buying characters for a game that is now a barren wasteland online because they took a WHOLE YEAR to update the game and the roster? This is ridiculous, ArcSys can choke on it.

Re: Review: Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (Switch 2) - A Hard Pass For A Great Game

Solid_Python

Dogsh1t ports like these is what ruins the reputation of the power of the console, you already have several people in this thread blaming the hardware when the obvious culprit is an awful port by a company with history of awful releases and optimization.

Doesn't matter how many Resident Evil 9s, Star Wars Outlaws and Cyberpunks we show to people that look and run fantastic, one bad port and people go "well gee willikers, I'm starting to question Switch 2! I sure am glad I bought a Steam Deck! (Nobody asked)"

Re: Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Needs To Solve The Series' Villain Problem

Solid_Python

Yeah the villains all been pretty "Scooby-Doo villain of the week" ever since Wesker died. They're fine but we never got anything on his level ever since he took a bath inside a volcano in RE5.

I wonder if Capcom regrets killing him off because he's such a great villain that people still talk and rave about him to this day. I almost gotta give props to them because they're really sticking to his death and still not bringing him back, as much excitement that would bring to a lot of fans.

Re: Leon Kennedy Is Confirmed For Resident Evil Requiem Via PSN Store Image

Solid_Python

@DarkTron it's not when you care about the story and lore of the franchise which a lot of people do with Resident Evil.

All the recent reappearances of Leon that we've got of him were retreads of what we already knew and played. I want other characters to pop in as well and get more stuff but we haven't seen him in-universe in a new instalment since like 2012.

Re: GameStop Hints At Another Playable Character For Resident Evil Requiem

Solid_Python

This listing was an obvious AI gobbity goop because it also had a synopsis included before it was removed that made no sense and had no connection to anything that was shown of Requiem.

Beyond Rose being only like 6-8 years old by the time this game takes place, the synopsis that was written out sounded like a fanfiction sequel to 7 and 8 which doesn't make any sense to begin with as Capcom said that the "Winter's Family story reached it's conclusion".

It also doesn't make any sense because the deluxe edition doesn't include anything for Grace who's the main character, why is the synopsis write up only about Rose without mentioning Grace at all and every deluxe bonus is only for Rose but not the main character they've been showing for 6 months? lol
