Re: Feature: "It Was Always About Surviving Together" - Why Konami Chose This Forgotten IP For Switch 2's Launch

Solid_Python

I really don't wanna be mean because I think there should be games for kids in the launch line up, but every other 3rd party publisher bringing their A game for launch titles and Konami is giving us.....only this lol

Like couldn't you at least announce Metal Gear Solid Delta coming to Switch 2 as well or something? You were one of the first 3rd parties Nintendo trusted their devkits to and this is all you've got?

Re: New Videos Show How Fantasy Life i Has Been Beefed Up On Switch 2

Solid_Python

@Medic_alert those 9 seconds stack up over your playthrough of the game so of course it's a big deal.

That's like saying "why people care about Animal Crossing loading times, it's only 30-60 seconds on Switch 1" while literally every transition in that game had a load screen, so in total you were waiting like 5+ minutes of loading in a single session of the game.

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility List

Solid_Python

Very good update, a huge chunk of 3rd party games are now in the full dark blue zone and over 40 games like Doom Eternal, Ender Magnolia, Arcade Archives, Pizza Tower and so on are all confirmed to be getting updates.

There's still games left to fix tho and I hope they continue updating it every month, there's a chunk of games with issues that I own like Alan Wake, Alien Isolation, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Nier etc that still need updates but very positive progress in just a month overall.

Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Launches October, Switch 2 Version Confirmed

@LastFootnote "There's no way I'm buying a piece of plastic that I have to insert into my Switch 2 but which still requires me to download the entire game and host it at my own expense."

Welcome to modern gaming, you literally do this on every single other platform. Yes not all games "force you to download" but every physical game on PS5 and Xbox force you to install the full game on your machine "at your own expense".

You complain about new expensive storage but refuse to acknowledge that it's expensive for 3rd parties to use that storage for full physical releases as well. Unless you want them to mark up games only on Switch 2 compared to other platforms with everyone online complaining about a "Nintendo tax" again?

I think i'd rather Bravely Default HD be 40$ from Day 1 on Switch 2 rather than 60$-70$ if it was "on a full cart" just to please a rabbid loud minority online.

Re: Nintendo Apologises For "Error" With Mention Of Switch 2 VRR TV Support

Solid_Python

What a fumble, having VRR only in handheld but no docked support seems incredibly shortsighted. Like did they find out that it won't work just recently themselves and just never bothered to make sure it works docked?

That's the only explanation because leaving out such a massive feature and having it only for 1 out of 2 gameplay modes is, again - stupid.

Re: Nintendo Predicted To Become "Primary Partner For Third-Party Game Publishers"

Solid_Python

@johnedwin the difference is that the budgets are higher than ever and you need to meet the player where they are nowadays, so building your game to be playable on as broad of a range of hardware as possible is the main goal now.

The likes of Square, Konami, Ubisoft and etc aren't gonna make money just on 2 pieces of hardware anymore, they're not bringing in enough revenue just to rely on 2 of them only. It's the whole reason Square went public with the whole "Screw Playstation exclusivity, we need our games everywhere especially Nintendo".

Even with PS6 out don't be surprised with most of the games to STILL be coming out on PS5 and even PS4.

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th May (North America)

Solid_Python

Is NL getting a review copy for Fantasy Life? Judging by the latest footage during the Direct and Level-5 hiding the Switch version in general doesn't bode well for its performance.

As for me i'm picking up Capcom Fighting Collection 2 for sure.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

Solid_Python

People yelled at Nintendo for like 10 years for how dumb they are because they "don't have voice chat, why are you using this stupid app, Nintendo why are you so archaic, I don't wanna use my phone or Discord".

Now that they gave everyone what they asked for y'all are going "who is this for, who asked for this, i'm not gonna use this, I have a phone/Discord".

This is why online discourse is dumb and no one listens to gamers - they're never pleased with anything.

Re: Guilty Gear Strive Adds Another DLC Character To The Roster Later This Month

Solid_Python

@Zeebor15 i'm a bit confused, Tantalus is doing all 3.....what? Characters? So they're just waiting on all 3 characters to be done before bringing them over all at once?

Cuz if it is then that's kinda dumb for a game focused on online battles, they just left this version out to die for like 7-8 months post release with no new content if we're waiting till Lucy is out :/

Re: Ubisoft's Switch 2 Physical Release Of Star Wars Outlaws Is A "Game-Key Card"

Solid_Python

Are we gonna make articles about games being key-cards all the time now whenever there is one? It's already getting tiring reading the comments on NL under every story, spiraling into endless moaning and whining about these things without any actual discussion of games at hand.

Yes we know some of you aint buying them, stunning and brave, good for you, don't need to announce it every time.

On the more positive side of this news: Switch 2 is getting the full gold edition with all DLC as it's base version for 60$ which is really nice and bafflingly isn't even mentioned in this very news article.
