Re: Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition Update And DLC Finally Arrives This December

Solid_Python

They left this game to die for like 8 months on Switch and nobody's playing it online anymore so updating it with extremely late ranked matches and PAID characters seems like a waste of time.

They took so god damn long with this that I expected they'd at least be making a Switch 2 version with crossplay enabled at this point. You have devkits ArcSys, did Nintendo give them to you only to make a 30 minute animated slideshow novel?

Censorship sucks and Nintendo of America needs to get off of their high horse already. What's with this draconian iron grip in these past 2 years and blocking legit 3rd party Japanese publishers yet they keep allowing all these AI and hentai puzzle slop all day every day on eshop?

What happened to being a more open platform compared to Playstation that lets the rating boards handle what needs to be handled? Hopefully Shibata taking over as American CEO in January will lead to reverting all this.

@Paraka your concern is a different issue entirely and is just moving the goalpost. "You're isolating to just Switch" No, i'm isolating it to gaming which is what we're talking about.

You're talking about an ability to buy games, none of the big 3 or Steam have ever taken the ability from you to redownload the games you've bought if they ever were taken down from purchase for any reason, even those such as licensing.

Even if you bought the CN games you just talked about now physically, they didn't have all the data on the cart and you wanted to play them on your Switch or Switch 2 - the files are literally up on the server for you to download them and play the game right now, it doesn't need to be available for purchase.

If you bought a game - it will still be tied to your account, there's no ifs, buts and ors around it. Making up doomsday scenarios is not a compeling point and why I can't take anyone online about this issue seriously. It's nothing but hypotheticals based on no evidence and "maybe the servers will go down 50 years into the future".

@SillyG You're being charged for a game that still needs to pay 30% royalties to the store even if it's a game key card. Or are we suddenly fine with 80$ video games as long as they're on cart?

GKC game still follows the same payment rules as a physical game sold at retail. As much as you people like to pretend it's just a floating digital ghost on the shelf - it's not.

Re: Review: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Switch 2) - One Of The Series' Very Best

Solid_Python

@dskatter from what I heard it might be 30fps on PS5 as well because some stuff in the game goes haywire rendering at 60fps even on PC.

Dragon Engine is also pretty demanding in this game as it cant reach 60fps on a Steam Deck or Rog Ally no matter how much you tinker with the settings even at their lower 800p. At best they can go up to 40fps.

I'll never understand most of you here. Denying yourself an experience because of your obsession with data being on a piece of plastic instead of your console storage, all because of a made up doomsday scenario 50 years into the future is quite silly.

Switch cartridges won't even last that long themselves before they go haywire, just look at the reports of 3DS cartridges already acting kinda funky and it's been only 10 years lol
