Ys is very underrated imo compared to Trails. Trails gets most of the attention, but Ys is great too.

I would like to see some more games on modern consoles though. Ys VI & Ys Seven come to mind.

Wasn't the last port not that well received? I feel like HOTD loses some of its flair without the lightgun/pointer controls.

@Arawn93 A lot of people aren't buying PS5s because they don't need to. Most people are fine with their PS4, its some crazy statistic like 75% of people still use their PS4.

Their hasn't been a large reason to upgrade given most titles on are both platforms. Casual stuff like the latest Call Of Duty and Madden are still releasing on PS4

The only reason I remember Mario Run is because of the Platinum points you can get from it.

Its always weird to me that people will say how PlayStation is dying or oh their console is doing 'badly'.

I mean you see the numbers. Just because its being outsold by the Switch doesn't mean its selling badly. By that metric the N64 was a failure because the PS1 outsold it and no one says that.

I think the expansion pack is still way too much. They're trying to sell you on retro games and very old DLC. I mean really, the Splatoon 2 DLC? The fact that they haven't added any other DLC is just one problem of many.

Maybe its just me, but the Sega fan in me is baffled they continued to offer Genesis titles over and over again. I understand that's the console that people remember Sega for, but they also made other consoles I would like to see get some attention one day. I understand the Sega Saturn is a difficult console to emulate even to this day, but it still is like come on. Sega Genesis games, again?

Base NSO is fine, you can do worse, but you can't convince me that the expansion pack is worth it.

Considering they priced Skyward Sword at $60 and Luigi's Mansion 2 at $60 it seems like they they're fine with pricing these ports at these prices.

Really it just makes me miss Nintendo Selects.

It really should've been Luigi's Mansion 1 & 2. 1 is still great despite it being the oldest game in the franchise.

Zero Mission is great, I'm replaying Super Metroid at the moment but I definitely need to do a replay of Zero Mission at some point too.

Wow, that is tiny. Tears of the Kingdom wasn't that large either. Impressive you can get games like that on a single cartridge.

I'd rather a port of Rare Replay, but I don't know if that's ever going to happen.

How is it sold out already? This better be easy to get like the TOTK OLED.

2023 may have been a large year for games, but it was an unfortunate year for many people who loss their jobs. The amount of lay offs cannot be understated and it just sucks.

I have NSO for the platinum coins I can get so I can buy icons as well as the stuff on the My Nintendo Store. Its also useful for cloud saves.

Aside from that though, I mean the retro catalogue doesn't feel all that enticing to me. I can only get so excited to play SNES games after having them for both 3DS/Wii U and Wii.

Its kind of crazy to think that Prime 3 came out in 2007. Like, wow I can't believe its been over a decade since the last game.

Mario Sports games fell off during the Switch era and that's sad, they love trying to do this whole release the game bare bones in content and update it over time.

They've done it with all the sports games on Switch and that model just not work. The RPG based sports games were cool, they should've went more in that direction.

I'm not expecting anything really. Probably just ports mainly.

I will be picking up Advance Wars though. That game seems to never be on sale on for some reason.

It sucks that most of the games aren't even on the cartridge and they can't even get 60fps on these old, PS2 era games. Come on, man.

You do something meaningful and you get a Skyward Sword situation with that Loftwing Amiibo. They'll get slammed for locking features behind a paywall.

You have them be smaller rewards, then people will think what's the point of the amiibo if all its giving me are these useless rewards like currency or items I can farm easily?

Their game functionality is an afterthought these days.

@Samalik Its a bit of a two fold problem as well, since many characters don't even have other types of figures.

I'm hoping we get more Nintendo based ones.

Animal Crossing and Advance Wars would be nice, but only a 30% discount feels a bit stingy but, this is Nintendo we're talking about.

It seems pretty staggering that Hogwarts Legacy can still top charts like that and WB thought, more live service games is the takeaway from that game's success.

This looks like a lot of fun. I finished the Power Rangers game on Super Nintendo not that long ago, and that too was a fun beat em' up.

I will be buying. Same thing with Alan Wake 2. Physical is king.

I hope this runs well on Switch. I def wasn't trying to plan Sonic Frontiers on Switch.

Advance Wars is the first big sale its had, but I'm still unsure. I think the original art style honestly held up better.

Aside from that I own most of the first party titles bar, Animal Crossing. I like AC, but I hear this one was a step down compared to new life or on GameCube?

Didn't the Nintendo store used to be better? I feel like most of the items aren't that good.

I didn't have Club Nintendo back in the day, but apparently you could buy soundtracks and even a couple games. At least there's a few things that are still semi interesting like the Pikmin towel.

I finished the original Luigi's mansion around Halloween of last year and really enjoyed it.

Since the sequel was announced for Switch I'd figure I might as well wait at this point instead of playing the 3Ds version I had.

Its hard to imagine calling something like the PS4 or Xbox One retro, whatever retro is supposed to mean. What defined previous generations of games was the jump in both technology, design and graphics.

N64 > Gamecube. That's a pretty noticeable difference.

PS2 > PS3 . Also a decent difference.

But since the seventh generation, consoles have sort of plateaued in terms of these aspects. A PS4 game isn't all that different from a PS5 game.

Even the term modern is in question. There are some older games that could pass off as modern games, today. A game like Mega Man X feels just as good today as it did over a decade ago.

Well, Nintendo prices their products at the prices they do because they know people will buy them at those prices. Nintendo is an outlier, by the way they price their products and it works fine for them.

Sure, Nintendo could change their pricing model, but the reality is the vast majority either don't mind or don't care. Why price them cheaper when you know you can get more money out of your audience by charging more and knowing that it's practically guaranteed revenue?

If Nintendo released Wind Waker and Twilight Princess separately on Switch for $60 each with no added content or changes people would buy them.

I thought Color Splash was actually quite good. I mean its not one of the best games in the series or anything, but its not that bad.

Again, surprisingly so considering that the internet has told me that anything that's not TTYD, the original or Super Paper Mario is bad.

The screen on my Switch is has some somewhat noticeable scratches and I do use mine in handheld often enough. Strangely enough I've not had to replace my Joycons despite drift being a big issue.

I'm not sure what has been stopping me, but I'd really like the Zelda or Pokemon OLED.

You know I really should pickup a Switch OLED even knowing of the new console coming out soon, since I've only had my 2017 Switch all this time.

They should make a 3D game . Donkey Kong I think as an IP is overdue a good 3D adventure.

I mean the only other one is DK64, right? I think it's about time.

Seeing Maxell from Scribblenauts gave me some nostalgia. Kind of unfortunate the last one, wasn't very good.

If Nintendo was keeping an eye on Embracer, I really would of liked them to acquire Free Radical considering their roots with Perfect Dark/Golden Eye and Timesplitters.

I can't say I'm all that excited really, just because its a game I've played already, unlike Super Mario RPG which I had not played. 😅

I suppose it'll be nice to have it portably.
