@Grumblevolcano Comparatively the amount of full physicals even with key games like Switch 2 is a lot more. Mostly just due to the format of the media and whether the publisher even cares or not.
Buying GKCs just gives the message: Yes, I want more of these rather than full physical games. Its no different from digital at that point.
Its not like you can win either way and with games like Pokopia there is no other alternative vs many of the 3rd party games that you can simply buy on another platform.
If anything I feel like playing older games has made me appreciate them more, once again.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with modern Pokemon compared to some of the older games, but no; Pokemon even the older games still wash some of the current ones.
If they go on a sale. I can't justify it at the current prices. However given that its Pokemon I can see that never happening.
These really feel like releases to just shut people up that wanted older mainline Pokemon games on Switch. Barely any changes and more expensive than GBA VC titles back in the day.
Its kind of sad that there isn't a game focused store in the U.S you can go to.
GameStop themselves do not qualify and have not for years in their big shift to stuff like Funko Pops which no one wants. For a place with game in their name, most of the place was in fact not games.
I'll be getting it on Switch 2. I wasn't sure about the art style initially, but it has warmed up to me.
I didn't see an option in the poll, but I will be getting it later on a sale probably. I usually don't play games at release, I have so many other games I haven't even gotten to yet.
I'm hoping for Metroid Prime 2 or 3. I'd like to see what Monolith is doing next. Doesn't have to be Xenoblade, but a new IP would be good too.
More patches for Switch 1 games. Maybe a Kid Icarus Uprising port with new content and such. I know Sakurai just got finished with Kirby, but I hope he returns to Kid Icarus eventually.
Having played the original, I have no idea what they were thinking were the way they recast some of the characters in this game. Don't even look like the same person.
Wish I had bought it later on, to be honest since the console would end up getting a discount. Not much has come out for it, most of the games are on Switch 1, so eh.

Re: Opinion: As Resident Evil Turns 30, It's Time Capcom Revisits The Classics
The Dreamcast versions were so cool because of the VMU implementation for RE2 and RE3.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo's 2026 Plans Include New Star Fox & Zelda Remake, No 3D Mario
Star Fox could be interesting. OOT Remake doesn't do much for me though.
Re: PSA: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Is Now Available Physically On Switch 2
I may pick it up later. Sega is known to have sales very often so I'm in no rush
Re: Review: Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection (Switch) - A Well-Presented Package Of An Underrated DS Trio
I will be there. I know many people know Mega Man from NES or SNES.
But Battle Network, Star Force and Zero were the franchises I personally grew up with.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 22.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Finally. My Switch 1 games without updates, won't look like blurry mush now in handheld mode.

@electrolite77 In terms of which method promotes real physical media more, both are about the same or so.

They aren't that different
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Has Been Rated, Here's The ESRB Summary
If we are talking about returning 3DS franchises, I'm still hoping for that Kid Icarus one. Come on, Sakurai.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia's Early Success Causes A Surge In Nintendo's Share Price
I feel validated finally getting a good Pokemon game after being disappointed with both Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Tired Of The Talking Flower Yet?
I would consider myself neutral, I have no strong opinions in either direction.
Re: Review: Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake (Switch 2) - Great Atmosphere But Never Quite Comes Into Focus
This game being 30fps on PS5 Pro, is rather shocking. What a miss.
Re: Review: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen (Switch) - Red-Hot Nostalgia In A So-So Wrapper
If anything I feel like playing older games has made me appreciate them more, once again.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with modern Pokemon compared to some of the older games, but no; Pokemon even the older games still wash some of the current ones.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Pokémon Pokopia
My only complaint is that I wish this was full on cart.
Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting Pokémon FireRed Or LeafGreen On Switch?

But got to pay that Pokemon tax I guess.
Re: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen Is Getting A Stunning 'Special Edition' Release In Japan
That's a lot of money and you still get download code.
Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch
I think I would only get this if it was a physical release.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Gets Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade, Out Now
It looks like my patient gaming paid off once more. I'll simply buy the physical down the line.
Re: Bethesda Releases Skyrim Update 1.2 For Switch 2, Includes "60Hz Mode" And Much More
It should've been all nice and tidy at release. Sheesh, Bethesda.

Dang. The Single player mode was like the only reason I wanted to buy this
Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase February 2026: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
About a 6. Paranormasight sequel is cool and a new Xanadu game. Biggest surprise was a new Culdcept game, I thought that series was dead.
I know I'm one of like 5 people who care about that series.
Re: One Of The Switch's Most Underrated Gems Is Getting A Sequel This Month
The first game was one of the best games of 2023 and no one talked about it.
Re: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gets A Release Date For Switch 2
Jeez. 102gb. That's still less than my copy on PC, but still glad I got my express card when I did.
Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 5th February 2026
I hope we get some new games announcements; not just ports.
Re: Preview: So Far, Super Mario Bros. Wonder On Switch 2 Isn't Making A Great Case For Itself
I'm not really sold on it thus far.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade?
Probably about a 7 or 8.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March
I was hoping for some new worlds or something more single player related. Seems like its mostly co-op focused.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade On Switch 2
There are aspects/parts of FF7 Remake I like. However, I wasn't crazy about the story changes nor some of the additional padding that it had.
Re: New Dynasty Warriors: Origins Trailer Showcases Heaps Of Switch 2 Gameplay Goodness
I thought this game was locked to 30 or initial reports when the game was announced.
Doesn't look that way here though.
Re: 45 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In Nintendo's 'Supercharge Sale' (North America)
is Yakuza 0 actually 4k docked? I was seeing mixed answers on the docked resolution after launch.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - Switch 2 Physical Edition Arrives This March
Giving that this is Sega I can expect it to put on sale quickly.
Re: GameStop Kicks Off 2026 By Reportedly Shutting "Hundreds" Of Stores

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup In Bellabel Park Has Been Rated
I didn't ever get around to buying Wonder, so I suppose I will get this later down the line like Kirby.'
Re: Tales Of Berseria Remastered - Switch Performance And Resolution Detailed
I do not understand how these Tales of games do not have Switch 2 versions.
Bandai Namco has already released several Switch 2 games on the platform.
Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty's Nintendo Release Is Apparently On Target For 2026
Call of Duty hasn't been the same in years. Take me back when they tried.
Re: Poll: The Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Demo Is Now Available, What Are Your First Impressions?
I'll be getting it on Switch 2. I wasn't sure about the art style initially, but it has warmed up to me.

I wasn't expecting it to be as good as Prime 1 or 2, but man. Bit of a bummer.
Re: Opinion: Wishlisting Games On Switch eShop Is A Game In Itself
I don't use the eshop very often, so I was shocked that there wasn't even a simple cart feature.
Re: Rumour: Monster Hunter Wilds' Latest Update Has Fans Talking About A Switch 2 Version
@Dimjimmer MH Wilds and Oblivion Remastered fighting for who can be worse.
Re: Talking Point: Our 2026 Nintendo And Switch 2 Predictions
I'm hoping for Metroid Prime 2 or 3. I'd like to see what Monolith is doing next. Doesn't have to be Xenoblade, but a new IP would be good too.
More patches for Switch 1 games. Maybe a Kid Icarus Uprising port with new content and such. I know Sakurai just got finished with Kirby, but I hope he returns to Kid Icarus eventually.
Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?
You know looking back a lot of launches many weren't all that hot. The 3Ds for example, pretty pitiful launch.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Reviews Skyrim On Switch 2, And Yeah, It's Bad
Considering the amount of times Bethesda has released Skyrim, this is pretty baffling.
But when you look at the Fallout 4 update that yet again broke the game and maybe I shouldn't be surprised.
Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic
Just like the Switch 1, for every impressive port you'll have one that's shocking.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metroid Prime 4: Beyond?
I haven't played it yet, but all the reviews I've seen for this game have left me disappointed.
When you end up waiting so long for another game, you want something that can rise above simply another Metroid Prime game.
Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?
Wish I had bought it later on, to be honest since the console would end up getting a discount. Not much has come out for it, most of the games are on Switch 1, so eh.
Re: Nintendo Reveals New Line Of Metroid Merch, And We Want It All
All this stuff and nothing for the U.S?! Why are you hurting me like this Nintendo?
Re: Anniversary: Monolith Soft Celebrates Xenoblade Chronicles 2 With A Post, But We're Desperate For A Switch 2 Revamp
Hmm, I really thought we would've had a couple more by now aside from the initial batch at launch.
Aside from Xenoblade, Metroid Dread could benefit and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I've been really holding out for Thousand Year Door too.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Switch 2 Port Technical Rundown Detailed By Ubisoft
I'm sure it'll be a good port, but never been crazy about the modern era AC games compared to Black Flag and Brotherhood.
While Ubisoft is at it, they should update the Mario + Rabbids games for Switch 2
