I'll get this on Switch the same way as Dragon Quest 1&2.

@Erigen Modern Atari are actually doing really well for themselves financially. They've made some very shrewd investments in Nightdive and Digital Eclipse, their retro mini consoles have sold really well and their recent remakes have been very well received.

It seems like you have an issue where there isn't one.

This hopefully won't affect me massively. I tend to buy multiplatform games for my Xbox and PS exclusives for my PS5.

If however, there are Switch 2 exclusives (first or third party) releasing on Game Key Cards, then I'll skip the game entirely.

The controls, art design and gameplay look awful in my opinion.

The fact that a game being released this close to the launch of the Switch 2 is suffering with performance issues is kind of worrying. It doesn't bode well for its ability to keep up over the next few years.

And performance can have a massive impact on playability and fun.

I still won't be going anywhere near this game.

I'm glad they're the same size as Switch 1 boxes. I may buy a load in bulk and put all my Switch games in the red cases.

@Elthesensai You can resell the game key cards.

@N00BiSH I used them all the time on my PS4 for any game that uses the thumb stick click buttons. I hate those buttons and really don't understand why it's never become a standard feature on all controllers since then.

They're also great for FPS games so that you don't need to take your thumb away from the right stick to use the face buttons.

A Viewtiful Joe 1+2 collection would be incredible. Please!

Nintendo always seem to find a way to make things unnecessarily complicated, awkward and frustrating for their fans. ☹️

@FourBs Game station was an incredible shop. They used to be my direct competition on the high street but I loved buying games there. They actually took care of the games they were selling so you'd get an old game in an immaculate condition (compared to something like CEX today).

I had a great relationship with the Gamestation store manager and we'd share discounts.

I vividly remember buying a pristine copy of Project Zero on Xbox and he gave his discount.

Good times.

I used to be a Game store manager from the GameCube/Xbox/PS2 days right through to the Wii launch. It was a great company to work for back then. They genuinely cared about their staff and management teams. There were great sales incentives and fantastic staff discount. 30% off new games and 40% off pre-owned.

I even got to see Sean Lock and Bill Bailey do an hour of stand up at one of our annual conferences.

Good times.

The Wii U is already regarded as one of the most underrated consoles in history. As much as I'd love to see WW and TP HD released on Switch 2, it's nice to have something just for that system.

Are the game cases the same size as Switch???

@Anti-Matter I've reboxed all of my PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 games into PS5 style cases and created my own box art. I've also done the same for all of my Xbox games to match the current Series X layout.

For me, Nintendo will always be associated with red and having that on my shelves will look nicer in my opinion.

@jwfurness Fast Racing Neo had a physical release on Wii U. At least in Europe.

@Jacket_p I bought Starwing on SNES for £70 and I remember a friend of mine paying £90 for Virtua Racing on Mega Drive.

Those were crazy times.

I saw an old Toys R Is advert on Twitter the other day and it showed SNES games priced at $80 - $90.

I'm not saying we should be pleased about Switch 2 game prices, but maybe we've been spoilt since the mid 90s.

This looks absolutely awful. It has no personality, no visual flair and the control scheme looks like it would wear thin after 5 minutes. What on earth were they thinking?

When I said I thought digital games should be cheaper, I didn't mean for you to do it by making physical games more expensive.

The new CEO definitely has played a huge part in this change in strategy. He wants to make Nintendo far more than games and consoles, but in the right way.

I bought the Japanese version a few months ago. It's beautiful in person so I voted for that.

No 3D Blu-ray means I won't be buying it anytime soon.

I would really love to see an Astral Chain sequel. Such an incredible game.

I don't see why this is even a story. Nintendo made so many of their systems backwards compatible whenever it was possible.

The one that truly amazed me was GameCube discs being compatible with Wii. Those tiny discs shouldn't have worked!!!

I would love to go for a beer and bump with Kamiya San.

It's a button to automatically order DLC or pizza.

The original Switch was such an incredible idea that I'm glad Nintendo haven't tried to innovate just for the sake of it.

They also have had a great track record when not trying too hard.

I'm more than happy with a more powerful, iterative piece of hardware. And the potential mouse controls opens up a huge new option for games.

I think I have a about 150 games in my Wii U Virtual Console library and it would have been amazing to see those carry across to Switch. But it does give me the incentive to keep my Wii U hooked up.

I own it on Xbox but really don't get what all the fuss is about. I've enjoyed plenty of the Harvest Moon and Story of Season games.

This has just never grabbed me and those numbers are quite shocking to me.

@Coalescence This Atari actually respects its heritage. Does it not count as Atari unless the original programmers come back?

If you haven't played Atari 50 yet, I would highly recommend it.

Companies change and evolve. Atari has, for the better.

I really like the way "new" Atari are going about things. The acquisitions of Digital Eclipse and Nightdive are a great match and they've done a lot to reignite interest in their own back catalogue.

The Atari 50 collection is exactly how those types of games should be done. Long may they continue.

Just play them on DS.
