It's quite shocking that a dev would not only decide to make a carbon copy of another game's art style, but that they'd be allowed to get away with it.

NA/Europe by far as the Japanese one is surprisingly weak. I do think that the NA/Europe one could have been much better though. Same composition but some slightly less muted colours. The green/blue shimmer in the game when you're in wolf mode would have worked well.

@FurrySpatula Not at all. Nobody could buy a Wii but that didn't mean GameCube games were flying off the shelves. Why is it only this gen where developers have decided that the market is too small for them? Nonsense.

Sony made most of their first party games for PS5 AND PS4. The fact that most first party PS5 games are on PS4 too shows that Sony isn't trying to push their own hardware. Up until now, my PS5 is a faster loading PS4 Pro. I can play the best PS5 games on my PS4.

Xbox haven't failed at all. They just don't care about selling consoles like Sony do. Sony want you to play on their system and nothing else. Xbox want you to play on PC, console, phone, tablet and even TV.

And if anyone "wins" this gen it'll be Nintendo.

@OrtadragoonX All consoles are hard to find at launch. No generation prior to this has been so weak in showing what it can do. How many cross gen first party titles have there been during previous gens? None. And there have ABSOLUTELY been consoles with enough similar architecture in the past.

Was Super Mario 64 on SNES?
Was Wind Waker on N64?
Was Uncharted on PS2?

PS2 - The biggest selling console ever. Did Sony try to "cross gen" that system with PS3? No. Because the tech was actually a step up from PS2.

How many PS4 first party launch games were also on PS3? None.

Cross gen is watering down the possible power of games. Fact.

If not, then why the hell should I buy a PS5 to play GoW Ragnarok? I have my PS4.

This is a VERY weak generation of consoles. People being excited by loading times and ray tracing are fooling themselves and this is not an exciting time to be a gamer in my opinion.

Returnal is very divisive and I don't agree with your opinion, but I'm glad you loved it that much.

@neonpizza I'm genuinely sorry. Dreamcast is my favourite console ever. I never had one originally but always wanted one. My parents wouldn't get me one and then they were gone. 😥 Dreamcasts, not my parents.

I was always a Nintendo boy as a kid and have only been able to catch up with Sega wonderfulness since I grew up. I now have a Mega SG, region free Sega Saturn and a region free Sega Dreamcast. All those games you mentioned are absolutely wonderful and I'm gutted the Dreamcast didn't live as long as it deserved.

@MitchaK True, but 20 years of progress have delivered very little. Reflections, shadows, HDR blah blah blah. When I still see polygon edges on PS5 and Xbox games I'm calling bullsh*t. People are genuinely excited now because of little or no load screens.

I had that back in 1993.

The original has held up incredibly well but it also proves how little graphics tech has moved on. The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5 is not a substantial leap over the PS3 original.

NES to SNES - massive leap
SNES to N64 - massive leap
N64 to GameCube - massive leap

Every other gen since - small incremental improvements.

Why even bother??? Just move on.

This wasn't even on my radar but I randomly decided to buy it yesterday for some reason.

I actually find it annoying how little Nintendo takes advantage of its entire back catalogue. Yes we've had Super Mario Bros a million times on various platforms but what about the rest??? They could make an absolute fortune all of their new ideas and hardware for the rest of time.

Imagine a Nintendo system where your digital library followed you from generation to generation in the same way that it has to an extent on PlayStation and Xbox.

I think I'd have probably purchased every first party release by now and given Nintendo a ton of money.

It's a sad situation when she felt the need to call out the "shockingly low" rate she was paid for the first game. A rate she happily agreed to.

Whenever I've had a job offer, if it didn't work for me financially, I didn't accept it.

Calls from her to boycott the game just seem even more petty and could potentially damage her career.

I hope everyone can move on from this.

It seems she was offered the going rate for the job she was asked to do. If she doesn't like it then she's completely free to walk away. But to complain so publicly is very unprofessional and I think could damage her career in the long term.

I will absolutely be buying the game.

90 minutes of Charles Martinet would be excruciating and I'm really glad they went with a different actor.

No offense to Charles but his Mario voice would not suit a dialogue heavy scenario like a feature film.

I got a Japanese physical copy years ago with Bayonetta 2 and both games were fully in English.

I'd really love to see a complete reinvention of the Zelda setting. I think it would be awesome to see the characters and series jump forward to a futuristic timeline with advanced tech etc. Something slightly cyberpunk or Aeon Flux-ish.

I'd really like to see the content from Splatoon 1+2 added to Splatoon 3 so that it doesn't get lost when the servers eventually shut down.

I don't think the compilations should be included. Also how can an individual game be listed higher than a compilation including that game???

Something like anti-gravity boots seems like it would be a good addition to mix up the gameplay. They could really go wild with some crazy level design too.

@twadebarcelona I hadn't seen the direct but it's great news to see it included. They absolutely could have implemented it in Splatoon 2 though if they'd wanted to.

It baffles me why Nintendo don't partner with more studios to work on lapsed franchises like this. Let Sega make another F-Zero. Let these guys make Wave Race. Let Playtonic make Chibi Robo.

The SNES box art is awful. So terrible. The Super Famicom box art was so much more impressive. SF2 Turbo in particular. Why is that not on the list but the 3DO version is???

@Andy77mk I'm kind of proud to admit it but, I kept every one of my consoles and boxes in immaculate condition so it really would have bothered me. I was always jealous that my Sega owning friends had a far easier job in keeping their cartridges safe.

They're not exactly being gentle with those boxes are they??? I'm also sure that on assembly lines nowadays, everyone wears gloves so that nothing gets fingerprints.

I really do miss those days though. Maybe it's because I was a kid but that generation is the time I was most excited about video games.

@JustMonika Agreed. I had it on 360 and am gutted it never even made it to backwards compatibility. I'm sure it was down to music licensing.

I have them physically both on Wii U and Switch but never completed the first and haven't even started the second. I don't know what it is but it never seems to hold my attention.

I've loved tons of other hack and slash games (DMC, Lollipop Chainsaw, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Rising) but these just never seem to click with me. It makes me sad. ☹️

There's being inspired by something and then just blatantly lifting the art style, layout, items, menu screens etc.

If I had developed this I'd be slightly embarrassed to even show 'my' work.

I would have been happy if there was no such thing as Splatoon 2 and 3. Nintendo could have just remade the first game on Switch and then added updates as DLC every couple of years. There's absolutely no need for multiple games in this franchise.

Also, for the love of god, please include the ability to transfer save data in this game. I really don't love the idea of losing all progress if my system bricks.

I think Nintendo really need to get better at announcing games. Don't mention them until they're at an advanced enough stage.

109 Mario games seems excessive but 106 Sims games???

I loved playing Ghost Squad, HoTD 2+3 and HoTD Overkill on Wii. Yes it was not as accurate as a light gun, but I still had fun.

I didn't see any mention of Koei Tecmo in the trailer. Are they making this or has it been brought in-house?
