This guy has high technical skill, but I don’t care for his tastes much myself. He ought to stick to things that would look good highly realistic. Maybe Link, a Guardian, or Astral Chain, or Bayonetta or something
I’d like to hope, the future of the Switch is developers competing over the prestige and point of pride to say “You thought Skyrim/DOOM/Witcher on Switch was impressive? Watch this!” And they keep competing to one up each other.
Thank goodness the kept their artists on a leash. As we’ve seen with Sonic, it’s so much better when they don’t reinvent the wheel. Especially when a design has been proven to be loved by consumers!!
@N64-ROX Heheh, I can follow your logic and respect your criteria. But likewise, if you can show me a hang glider or ability to climb just about any wall in OoT then I guess you win. 😁
I’m loving my Labo VR. Taking it slow, building them with my wife and kids. It’s always a thrill when a new conponent is finished.
This was a nice video, but it’s a travesty they didn’t include a function to share VR Labo creations. That would truly inspire people and it would be amazing to see everyone’s work.
I rather enjoyed playing Zelda in VR. I just laid down and balanced the Goggles on my face (more comfrotable than it sounds) and took the joy-con off the console. I played for like 45 minutes and it was great!
As a confessed Smash-lover, I can say that what I love about Smash compared to other fighting games is the “spacing”. I’ve never cared for the forward-only gameplay of a more “aggressive” fighting games. I’ve always loved that I have an entire stage to move around in with Smash, and I can control the tempo. Although button inputs are relatively minimal (which I love) compared to other fighting games, the depth of Smash is in the spacing and timing, I believe.
It’s funny, but these elements of Smash have taught me life lessons about social cues and even human relationships of knowing when to strike and when to evade. Thanks, Sakurai! 😆
Hmm. I’m pretty sure Nintendo doesn’t just want more of the same. They worked with Crypt of the Neceodancer because it was such a fun and original idea. Better to work with that team than copy them outright. Indies better bring something fresher to the table to get Nintendo’s attention, me thinks.
Seeing that small chick handling that big gun is just so unbelievable. It's impossible to really imagine her performing in that situation. Her meleeing a monster with that gun would have like no effect on the monster.
GX is the best. Buttery smooth and beautiful graphics. Plus those fun cutscenes!
I remember thinking X was ugly and off-putting even on it's launch day. It didn't even look or feel like a professional game to my Jr. High School self.
I wish he’d addressed the pro community by saying something like “I hope you will give it a shot. Because it could add even more balance, depth, and flexibility to the game”. I think it’s annoying how the pro community refuses to adapt and use things like Smash Balls which are really cool and fun to watch.
This is a good example of a game I probably wouldn’t buy if I had a PS4, but that I will buy on Switch. Mostly because the lack of competing titles like this. I think I’ll pick this up!
This company is one of my clients at GaijinPot.com, so I’ve heard their side of the story. Basically they’ve never had an accident. All accidents attributed to them have been from private enthusiasts, and not their employees or guests. Safety is definitely a top priority for them (within the parameters of driving a go-kart on major streets...) plus the costumes their guests wear are all “officially licenses” costumes that Nintendo sells. They don’t use any Nintendo IP on their website it marketing material. Just that users wear those official costumes while driving. So it gets a bit murky. They certainly follow all laws of the road and whatnot quite carefully. Everyone who takes their tours always say it’s an excellent experience. I feel like it’s a net positive for Nintendo, and the big N is trying to have it’s cake and eat it too.
I’m plugging away at Skyrim and Wolfenstein, but I picked up Child of Light and that’s excellent as well! I love turn-based RPG’s and this one does some fun stuff with keeping you engaged with real-time actions as well.
I’ve played through the demo 3 times now, and I’m working up the courage to commit to the near $100 price tag. But I think I’m gonna do it, because the game is really fun and plays just fine streaming. Actually, I have a portable wi-fi service I use, and actually it plays fine on that too. So I’ll be playing this on the train for my commute!
@maruse I totally think your points are valid. I respect those are deal-breakers for you. The price is quite steep... But I think I’ll do it anyways. I mean, there’s no way this is coming ti handheld for another 4-6 years regardless, so I can dismiss the portability issue. Personally, I don’t really mind “renting” either. I don’t have any of the games I did from 2 years ago anyways, and even when I do, I never really go back to them anyways. The only downside is that I won’t be able to sell it when I finish. I respect your logic. But I still think I’m gonna dig into this offering.
Hey everyone, I live in Japan so I tried out the free trial for this game... Wow. I don’t own a PS4, so I was blown away by how great this looks. I did not experience any lag in the gameplay at all (fun game too!) maybe some frame drops during busy cutscenes, but nothing that bothers me at all. The graphics are as crisp as watching any high quality video too. I’m stoked to be able to play this game on my Switch, and I hate to say it, but this kind of feels like the future of gaming. It kinda makes sense to stream something so tech-heavy into a smaller, cheaper unit like the Switch. I’m sold on this! (Sorry, purists. Good luck with your thing.)
Oh god, this reeks of death already. I’m not usually pessimistic, but I don’t see how a live-action interpretation could possibly be good... I think it’s going to be about as good as the Dragon Ball movie that came out years ago. Looking forward to the train-wreck!
I think it make sense. It's reinforcing an interest, desensitizing and normalizing hyper-violence to some degree. We, as a society, would not tolerate the same for child porn, or other inappropriate entertainment. I definitely don't think violent games should be illegal. But we should recognize they are a negative influence, and perhaps a red flag.
Is it just me or are there like too many 9/10’s up there? I really like Nintendo Life, but it might be better to re-work their ranking system. (IGN’s is very good I think.) That is all.
