@nessisonett misogyny is kind of subjective, so it does seem weird to have it thrown at a game in a review. But, it is the Reviewers opinions, and I guess now the people who’d be triggered by the game can avoid it. Alls good, everyones happy.

I’d be onboard for a Smash Bros without Sakurai.
I am grateful for this brilliant series I love.
But he’s become a bit of a queen.
Feels like he’s whining all the time, and there are holes in SSBU to be sure. Let him retire.

Tons of love for Melee, but Ultimate is officially better for me, and I enjoy the competitive scene of Ultimate more too.

Original content, with the Nintendo philosophy of “be original”, and (kinda) wholesome sounds nice.

I first thought blockchain could be amazing for political voting, as it cannot be fraudulent like the current “mail-in voting”. But I’m starting to think blockchain is appropriately named as a great way to enslave us all.
It will go hand-in-hand with Carbon Taxes to tell you when you’re allowed to go outside or eat a piece of meat.

I don’t expect anyone to understand. But I feel conflicted. This game looks cool, but also kinda... demonic (obviously, I guess) but I’d feel like a bad Christian for playing it. I mean, you can recruit Baphomet...

Awesome! This is my #1 anticipated non-Nintendo game coming. The gameplay and story in the trailer was fantastic.

I’ve been playing it all day. Haven’t been absorbed in any games except Smash Bros recently, so it’s fun to have a “project”. This is my first 2D Metroid, and so far it’s great! The EMMI are a little frustrating, just because of the load time after you die. But it’s no problem with difficulty yet. But kind of a stressful game! (As advertised, I guess)

It’s strange. I SHOULD be interested in this, it has so much going for it. But something feels off. Especially the overall Art Design (UI, Characters, Environments) it just looks so stiff and like... form over function, in a bad way. I’m looking forward to seeing in-depth reviews.

It’s fiction. The series’ creator decided it to be this way. Any BS Marxist “equality of outcome” pressure on the creator is anti-Art and anti-Freedom, and basically racist to judge the actors by their races.

It’s a testament to how great this game is that I play it even more now than I did when it came out 2 years ago. Seriously, like 20 matches day, I’m hooked!

I really loved the demo. Clearly inspired by Game of Thrones, in a very good way. Seems like great themes and layers to the story. The combat was challenging, but rewarding... but kinda slow. Still, I loved it! Played it twice to see both outcomes, I was amazed how differently the story branched.
I wonder if I should go for the happy ending first for a nice first experience, or happy ending last to give me happier head-canon. Hahah

This is my most anticipated non-Nintendo game. I loved the demo, and was really impressed how drastically the story changed depending on the decisions you make. It got really dark when you choose the “utility” path and don’t choose to remain loyal. Can’t wait!

I hope they make the protagonist a decent character like Shulk. The guy from XBC2 was kind of a whelp.

This has been true of books in some sense for a long time. For example, so many books were burned before and after wars, when the content was no longer convenient to the victors.
It’s always tragic, but sometimes a book can escape the destruction to survive and tell the tale of another perspective.
Soon, it may be easier than ever to ban or “cancel” what was once normal.

Water and environments look great, but I wish they’d’ve kept the cell shading.

Surprisingly this became one of my favorite titles on Switch. I’ve played through 2 paths (which is like 120 hours total!) and Byleth is my main in Smash Bros!

I have a feeling this won’t be coming to Switch. But I hope to be wrong.

@citizenerased I know what you mean. Keep playing, give it some time to find itself, I didn’t really begin to LOVE it until maybe the 3rd major area. But by the end of it all, it’s really an incredible game. You won’t regret it!

I wish SquareEnix would sell them the rights to Xenogears. I wish I could play that game again, remastered and with quality-of-life improvements... 🙏✝️

I play SSBU daily, but I’m ready for there to be no more new fighters. I watched this intro just to try and learn how to fight back against more OP DLC.

Both are indeed cool. But the JP version is by far much more evocative and interesting.

@Heavyarms55 I disagree, the Japanese meaning was that our world, the world of cities and TV and schools, etc was all an illusion. That the real world was always a spiritual one.
That sounds so much more... biblical, and interesting. Not that the character goes to another world, but that the false mundane world is abruptly ripped away.

@Heavyarms55 “ordinary person pulled into another world”. I was surprised that the Japanese version actually says “Our world was just a lie...” insinuating that the world of supernatural beings is the real world, returned.
That feels much more interesting to me.

Yeah, Japanese version is way better.
I hope the Localization Team doesn’t take so many liberties with the game as has been done with the Trailer.
For example, the Japanese says “The Tokyo we’ve been living in is... a lie!” Suggesting the world of supernatural entities is the true reality. Whereas the English says something about an alternative universe, which represents a big difference to me.
The EN version turned me off, but the JP version has me intrigued again.
