Cyberpunk ships on a 64GB cartridge at a "normal" price of 79.99. I do think that at 249.99 they would have an OK profit margin with a real cartridge. I mean, I don't think CD Project sells Cyberpunk physical on Switch 2 at a loss...
I can't really blame Nintendo for this as it's up to the third parties to choose how they manage their releases. I doubt Nintendo forces them to take the cheap-out option.
I think more "mainstream gamers" are gonna choose Switch 2 over Steam Deck, now that it's gonna be powerful enough to run all multiplattform-titles. Handheld PC gaming "consoles" have very small sales numbers, with Steam Deck being the "biggest" with only a few million units sold over 4 years. So with Switch 2 this summer, Steam Deck and the other expensive PC gaming consoles are going to be even more niche products.
Yep. So much negativity these days. And when Cyberpunk hits Switch 2 release day, comment sections will flood with negativity that it doesn't hit the same resolution & framerate as a 550 watt, 2000USD desktop PC.
Id love 40fps as a new lower-ground in Switch 2 games. It'll be a lot smoother than 30, while not being so costly on the graphics as going for 60. In Mariokart World, Im gonna try out both Quality & Performance mode, but in the end, I'm probably gonna stick to the higher resolution, 60fps is just fine.
Yeah, but they got way too much travel until you reach the switches, make them feel very sluggish in shopting games. Im sticking with that digital triggers are superior in ~95% of the games.
Thats not good neither. You need that micro switch-click as a feedback, analogues just can't mimmick that. That's why I dislike "mushy"-face buttons too.
I've never actually really missed the analogue triggers. In most games, I do agree that it's better with "clicky" digital triggers. GTA-games is the only type of games were analogue triggers is preferable.
Playing something like shooting games on Xbox or Playstation, the triggers just tires out my trigger finger...
If we had euro here in Sweden, we would be paying around 615 euros for the Switch 2 without Mariokart. Yes, it's insane. And yes, I ordered mine from Amazon.de
Im kinda confused by how low the Steam Deck sales have been. Seems like everyone talks about the unit, but it sells way slower than the Wii U did. 4M units is bout what the Switch 2 will sell in it's first 5 minutes on the market.
It's so weird that "game" is actually up on the eShop. Doesn't Nintendo have any employees at all that actually does some checking on the games that goes up there?
Looks decent. I didn't like the AW reboot-camp that much, it underdelivered with ugly graphics and no real online support. I don't care this looks very similar to Advance Wars, as long as it's functionally good and got online mode that works.
It's just a bad made port. 99% of the games on the eShop would fit just fine on a cartridge, it's just cheper for them to put them on a download file...not really a shortcoming of the Switch.
Its not a valid point. Switch can basically render anything a PS5 can, just a downscaled resolution. Switch is not limited in the same manér as something like N64 or Playstation 1. The only thing that "holds back" Nintendo and other developers nowadays is the time and manpower it takes to develop large-scale games.
It's not hard to imagine. It would be the same games at higher resolution. Neither PS5 or Xbox Series has done anything I would call game changing and they dont do anything magic, it's mostly just PS4-games in higher res.
The fact of getting high-end home console games on a handheld is superior imo.
It's a slow game, I probably won't notice the difference. On the other hand, I do like the graphical update, it's well worth sacrificing framerate for...in this case.
I really don't get some of these more expensive third party-controllers. They drop important key-features, instead we get these stupid led:s. There's no reason whatsoever to get one of these instead of a real pro controller...
This thing looks kinda great, it keeps the Switch somewhat "compact" design compared to a huge beast like the Steam Deck, while grip comfort seems to be superior compared to stock joy cons.
@graviton
It already have underside-buttons. Id say these two extra could come useful in certain games with too complex control schemes for stock joy-con controller button-layout. Basically, so that you got dedicated buttons for more game functions instead of one button being used for several functions in games like Company of Heroes collection etc.
lol, I just read that "the crazies" are doing a campaign against the Switch-release of this game. It's their old crazy stuff about not being black people or transgender represented in it... xD
Looking forward to see how this one holds up on Nintendo Switch. It run like crap on my base PS4 last time I tested it years ago, Im gonna wait with buying this 'til after the tech is revealed.
Yep, I miss the pointer which made even mediocre shooter-games like The Conduit and Red Steel fun to play. As joy-cons already have an IR-camera (but at the wrong end), it should be fairly easy for Nintendo to use it on a updated joy-con model and just make the Switch 2 Dock compatible with the Wii Sensor bar. And as the Wii U Gamepad also had a built-in sensor bar, it should work in portable tabletop mode as well.
@BulbasaurusRex
Yep, and as they already built-in a infrared sensor in the joy-con, it would've been letterally free for Nintendo to include support for "Wii-style pointer controls" with a simple port for the old sensor bar in the dock.
I agree, and accessibility is the only type of "inclusivity" I advocate in video games, because handicap can happen to anyone. Everyone can lose a hand or get bad eyesight, it's not a made up identity.
Arkham City seems to be very well off on Switch, esp. as it doesn't seem to feature that ugly bright, yellowish look as the PS4 version...lucky me its the only Arkham-game I want
It depends. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City will probably be more or less the same as on Xbox/PS4, Arkham Knight on the other hand will probably be downgraded.
No. In the beginning of the Switch-era, I did miss a web browser and more streaming apps. Today, I don't really miss it, youtube on Switch is OK, I use it some times but not often.

Civilization 6 on Switch is an ios-port and works just great. There's really no reason for an android/ios-port not to work good on Switch as they share the ARM-aspects, as long as they don't use mobile UI like in many of them cheap mobile-ports on the eShop...
