@Mana_Knight Adventure was on the GameCube. I’d completely forgotten about it. It was a bit of a departure from the typical Monkey Ball formula though.
Can someone help me understand what astral wraiths have to do with TMNT? I’m not the most avid of turtles lore folks having only really watched the movies and cartoons of the nineties. This all feels a bit out of the left field?
If this is an “it ain’t that deep bro” situation that’s fine too. I’m just a confused 40 something.
This week we’ve moved from playing on the Switch 2 to SteamOS. I installed it on my Mini PC (Minisforum AtomMan G7 PT) after the Steam Box announcement. Running SteamOS is a better gaming TV experience with the only drawback being using the shop on controller can be awful.
We were sick of our Switch 2 crashing while playing Vampire Survivors. Some folks report no issues on Switch 2 but we’ve had multiple crashes a day and performance after 20 mins in a run is pathetic. It’s sad to see new hardware performance so badly.
As for Vampire Survivors, we’ve done everything but the adventure modes now.
I'm hoping for a solid Mario Tennis game but honestly each game since the Gamecube has been gimmick after gimmick.
I wish they'd go back to basics. Maybe even just make the Smash Bros Ultimate of Mario Tennis and do an "everyone's here!" massive roster. That's generally the appeal to me for this spinoffs and sports titles. Having folks play as whoever they love from the Mario series.
Wife & I are working through all the Vampire Survivors content now Ante Chamber is out.
We’re a bit miffed they changed the coop weapon limit locally from 4 to 2. It’s not as fun with less stuff. I hear there’s a party mode but we don’t want NPC helpers we want the old weapon limit back. The devs didn’t do a great job communicating this to the late base if it’s an intended change.
The difference is the games used to be janky and charming now they're janky without that charm. I think since X and Y switching to 3D made the series so clinical and soulless.
I’ve fallen out of love with Microsoft. I was a big fan of what they did with the series X when it came out. It was a solid bit of kit. Game Pass made sense but then the decisions to close studios and cost 1000s of folks their jobs is just unforgivable. I’m not supporting Xbox until they change course which won’t happen sadly.
I used to buy indie games to show there’s support for them on Xbox but now I’ll be buying them on the switch 2 instead. We had a 100% save file on Vampire Survivors with ash the DLC. We’ve decided to switch over to the switch 2 version and start the game from scratch. I know cross save exists but I’m not interested in that at this time. We’ve got a long way to go!
I went with the Japanese version even though I love the NA/EU version as it’s the one I had this is one of those times where the Japanese version is just new to me and exciting enough to warrant my vote.
@jaypakavelya no that’s a different one. I’m not a major Legend of Zelda lore person but they seemed to reuses from the series past with little connection like Imprisoning War and Rauru.
I got Powerwash Simulator 2 today. I really don’t want to support EA but if I crumble it will be for PvZ: Replanted. I’ll likely pick up Jackbox 11 by the holidays as this year it actually looks good.
I'm not going to provide a rating as I'm just not the audience for this game because I've not really enjoyed much from the series after gen 2.
I'm baffled by how folks find this game enjoyable. It looks so soulless. I wish The Pokémon Company would try a bit harder. That said it's good to see a bunch of folks in this comments at least finding it to be a good time. Fair play to you.
@Samalik it’s come out for a bunch of non touch devices after the original desktop release. It was on Xbox 360 and PlayStation to name a couple. It is fair to say it’s mostly come out of touch friendly devices though.
@solarwolf07 the paid DLC is fairly meaty unless you binge it. Even then the costs of their DLC is fairly low. There's certainly plenty of content to get through it'll keep busy for a good while.
Super confused about this. This feels like a start of something. Nintendo are certainly trying to branch into younger audiences.
I don't know why Nintendo would purposefully choose not to include Pikmin in a video aimed at children. Most of their IPs are kid friendly but Pikmin with their simple shapes are likely the most kid friendly.
The moving dummy which seems to float at Pikmin height is a very weird choice. I think we're thinking this is going to lead to something more like there will be a further expanded on version where the Pikmin are added in. I doubt that will be the case. We might see more of these videos but I think this is the final version of this video.
Then again we're likely not the audience for this video and Nintendo know what they're doing. They're likely branching out in to more video development and will eventually produce their own movies in-house.
@TheSaneInsanity lol. ParnsipHero wasn’t my first choice. It was actually “Heroic Parsnip” but the doesn’t fit within Nintendo’s username 15 character limit so I went for this. The name stuck!
This week I’m getting in to Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. I’m not a huge RPG fan but I liked the look of it.
I love the world and the story is alright too. The only thing I’m kinda tepid on is the way I can’t fully control my team. I know I can give them tactics but I want to select the spells they use.
@Bluelink45 Seeing as you asked I looked through Nintendo Life's review archive and the first 1/10 review I could find for a Nintendo published game is the DSiWare title, Electroplankton Varvoice.
It's shame to see the Fire Emblem brand continually dragged through this mobile slop. What is Nintendo's aim here? To desensitize their target audience with continually worse and worse mobile apps?
Nintendo can put out some decent mobile stuff. Nintendo Music is fantastic and Nintendo Today is inoffensive at worst. Most of their game related stuff though is totally avoidable.
I have no skin in this race having not played any Professor Layton games. My initial reaction to the Japanese box at was “wow” but went with the EU/NA box art as it showed off the game.
So I bounced off Hades and more I’m trying a new game out in early access on Steam. Is called Deadly Days: Roadtip. It’s a fun roguelite with that backpack Tetris mechanic that seems to be doing the rounds. Definitely one to watch.
@Suketoudara fair enough. At best it's rage bait, at worst it's sexist. But it's always slimey and I don't feel any room should be allowed for this nonsense.
I’ve been playing Hades 1 on the switch 2. I have to say despite the quality of the game I’m probably in an unrecoverable state with roguelites. It’s been this way since my time with Dead Cells. I can’t get over the rinse and repeat gameplay with often little progression.

Re: Nintendo Reveals New Line Of Metroid Merch, And We Want It All
I would never get any of this stuff but that arm cannon plushie is genius and saddens me it has taken us until 2025 to realize such a thing.

I genuinely forgot this game existed.
Re: Stunning Sandbox Survival 'Core Keeper' Is Digging Up A Switch 2 Edition Next Year
This is great news. Always good to see versions of games which benefit Switch 2’s specs.
I looked forward to Core Keeper when it came to Switch 1. Sadly it didn’t quite gel with my wife and I.

I probably could get behind this. Looks a bit too hyper though.
Re: Fortnite's Latest Trailer Is An Unsettling Realisation Of Its Crossover Ambitions

@ShieldHero ohhhhh okay. Thank you so much. Totally missed that. I wonder why my hero stopped showing the spell options when I switched their tactic.
For the most part the tactics AI are pretty good. I’m glad they have them in. That plus Ultra-fast battle really helps with the random encounters.
