Glad this film has a bit of humour. The first one was drier than a digestive biscuit after an hour in the tumble.

I wish they made this game a spinoff of ARMS. I think the game had an interesting concept but the presentation is so drab. Having ARMS colours would have helped so much in selling it.

I’d love the classic games to be on NSO but this won’t be that.

@StewdaMegaManNerd totally not interested in playing games which we’ve had for years on an extremely popular console.

Of course I can choose not buy them but I really hoped companies would bring something new for launch.

I think they should be more apologetic for the sheer amount of switch 2 editions honestly. It’s not like the switch launch where folks hadn’t bothered with the Wii U.

That said the free upgrades to many Switch games for free was a nice touch.

I hope we’re eventually getting another way to unlock those creature driver unlocks. The current system is ridiculous.

I’m interested but I can’t see myself getting some extra joy con 2s to fully enjoy it. I already splurged and upgraded to a full set of 4 pro 2 controllers.

Koopa Troopa is my main. They’ve had been my go to since Mario Tennis on the Switch. I also use them in Mario Party Jamboree too.

It works online too with GameChat GameShare.

Coop is pretty much what you'd expect from Nintendo at this point. Point and click. It's a shame we can't get two DKs or Diddy.

Pauline is a solid addition and overall outside of the coop aspect I really like the direction this game has gone in. Day 1!

@Chlocean nice. I’ve had a similar story with Apex Legends. I play with my son on his PS5. Unlike Fortnite though there is no such 2 upgrade and it really shows. I have to say it’s a real detriment not playing on a next gen version of these games.

I do have a Series X but I no longer pay for Game Pass.

@Spider-Kev this is the case in World. I’ve 3 starred the 100cc cups and 50cc was automatic 3 starred.

@Anti-Matter and QR functionality sanded to games like that would probably be implemented using the Nintendo Switch smartphone app. That’s what Zelda notes does. You can create and scan QR codes through the app to share items and builds in TotK.

Mostly Mario Kart World. I’ve been playing through the GPs on 150cc more I’ve done them all in 100cc.

I unlocked so the outfits but I’m still waiting on the kamek RNG to give me the rest.

@jojobar really? Anecdotally my mates were all Nintendo kids but in the 80s-90s it was Sega or Nintendo.

I don’t know about kids nowadays or since as they have more choice even just phones and stuff.

@Yosti it's a visual spectacular and a fun "victory lap" for things you have seen in the game but I feel it lost that riding on a rainbow staple that the series has always had. Sure you get some parts on a rainbow but not all of it. Part of it felt like it was Space Road.

I'm not really in to Splatoon generally but I might be interested in this spinoff with it being mission based.

This did remind me to check the Nintendo Today app more often though now I have a Switch 2. I'd been holding off looking at the for a month before the Switch 2 launched because I wasn't intending to get one.

I wouldn’t say I have a wave race fetish, but I do agree with Gavin Lane here. The one cup that ends in a water level with big waves did get me excited for a new potential wave race game or at least seeing wild storm on the GameCube app.

On the more negative end, I will say that rainbow road felt a little off to me this time around. For me, Rainbow Road has to be all rainbows! Part of the course felt like it was on the Milky Way or something.

I’ll mostly be playing Mario Kart World and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap on the GBA app on my lovely new Switch 2.

@Waluigi451 I feel the same way about transformations but at least they're not core characters. I could see how it would be annoying if you really wanted to play as one of them though and RNG was not on your side.

@LinktotheFuture I've had a similar experience on 100cc. I was surprised though how I got a horn so high up. I think the game's balance is retooled to chaos when compared to 8 because recovery time is so much quicker. That said 50cc should be a lot more relaxed than the experience you described.

@SwitchplayerJohn did you finished with 60 points? I think
finishing with 60 points awards you 100 coins (I can't confirm this is true) but I noticed that after I completed the second cup in 100cc it awards 100 coins which then unlocked a cart for me. I then won the third cup in 100cc with 60 points and unlocked another cart with 200 coins (total).

It's wild that you can boot this game up and not have Donkey Kong in the roster off the bat. It's sort of a moot point as the requirement to unlock him is super easy but I still find it's a bizarre choice when all the babies are unlocked off the bat.

Probably. Mine is hooked up to the TV so I wouldn’t know from the sofa.

Got mine from GameStop after queuing. It was sad to folks get turned away at midnight. I feel very fortunate I have the time and funds to be able to get one just at launch.

Hoping to preorder one at GameStop today after failing at every venture so far. I’m hopeful but also want to keep my expectations in check.

Edit: after over 3 hours of waiting for a pre-purchase then another hour at midnight I finally joined the Switch 2 club.

@Medic_alert you can't blame folks for looking for a silver bullet when the drift effect on controllers has been present for over a decade.

In my experience JoyCons and Xbox Series X|S controllers has been awful. Consumers should expect better. If Nintendo's alternative is really any good that's great but at the end of the day people just want to pay for something that's reliable.

I don't think I'll be getting a Pro Controller 2 any time soon. I love my Pro Controllers. Solid controllers on par with the 360 controller for reliability and just getting the job done.

If I can get a switch 2. I’ll be playing Mario Kart World and Switch Online titles from the GameCube.

@Li_Bae it’s not aged well for new but I just beat it with 120 stars. A total slog.

I’m working on Super Mario 64. I just have rainbow ride and the last Bowser level to do. Currently sitting at 112 stars. It’s not been as enjoyable as I had hoped.

Just an incredible multiplayer experience. Single player was great but the hours we sunk in to the multiplayer were crazy back in the day.

I tried few ways to get one here in the US. No dice. My local Best Buy isn’t doing a midnight launch either.

I hope I can get one this year.

So this was the email I got from Nintendo yesterday not an invite to buy a Switch 2.

I don’t dabble in emulation so I’m not affected but it wasn’t the email I wanted from them. Thanks, Nintendo!

Disappointed I haven't gotten an invite but it's fine. I can wait. Hopefully I can still get one this year.

I wish Nintendo would revisit Wind Waker style Link in a new game. It had so much character. I've not played it since the original GC release but I do recall the back half falling over a bit.

Well now I need to play Captain Toad’s Treasure Trackers again. What a gem. Let’s hope we see more from the series on Switch 2.

@Pillowpants Blue Prince is a game released in April getting a lot of attention and praise at the moment. It’s not a subtle reference to anything else.
