Super Mario Sunshine is the only main 3D Mario game that doesn't have a remake or sequel in the same style. Nintendo seems to have distanced themselves from the game intentionally.
As someone who actually used the service to get Pokemon team codes it is pretty slow and annoying. This is mostly bad news for the 3DS games losing functionality when they shut it down. No loss for Sword & Shield as long as they port features over, especially if they make them native or improve them.
If they both reached out to Nintendo then what's the truth? This article is confusing.
Edit: Okay, apparently support is authorized to do this if you contact them but it's not an "official program" hence the conflicting information. Would be nice if these articles were more thorough.
The game did just come out so they'll be making some updates I'm sure.
For people that don't find building or playing other people's levels enjoyable, the game probably isn't for you. For people that do like those things well there you go.
But don't mind me, I'm still stuck with the first game (which I really liked) and it just feels like people aren't appreciating the added content.
@mlj11 For real, some people cannot fathom any empathy. Mine don't drift, that's not a reason for me to write it off or troll other users for my own amusement.
@humbucker If it was the Joy-Cons that came with the system they would still be under warranty. It's the ones bought separately that have a 90 day warranty.
It sounds like this is only for NOA. Either way as someone whose Joy-Con work flawlessly after a year, I'm glad to hear Nintendo has a plan in case they ever do start acting up.
They didn't say it, but since this will be something people can try to abuse, it's in their best interests to improve the hardware. So I can see a redesign coming.
@BulbasaurusRex
-Online play was introduced in Mario Kart DS.
-You don't need multiplayer Grand Prix when there is a VS mode.
-Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) has the worst battle mode in the series... opinion of course
My Joy-Con work perfectly, got them about a year ago. But I don't understand why some people have the audacity to tell people they are abusing their controller for a commonly experienced flaw. Even if it was a "minority" why would you not want them to fix it??
You guys are making feel like I'm using a futuristic product since I (sometimes) stream games on PC. I guess it is technically lol. It's not horrible but it definitely still has plenty of room for improvement.
I don't get why people want another 2D game. We just got NSMBUDX. You play through one of those once and you've seen it all. Mario Maker you can keep coming back to for new content endlessly. And no, Nintendo are not the only ones that can make good stages. You just need to know how to find what you want.
Why are people so bad at understanding that everyone has different tastes. Just because you don't enjoy something doesn't mean you have to hate on it or people that do.
@TheFox I actually didn't like that in Sochi. The forced use of the GamePad (for P1 and no one else) especially for things like snowboarding was a turn off.
I was really disappointed to find out that there would be no local multiplayer without using separate consoles... that is until today, when it was confirmed that you actually CAN play local with just one system. So I empathize with everyone upset about no online play with friends.
The funny thing is no one was really expecting this until they confirmed online play, so they just set themselves up to disappoint. Poor communication from Nintendo.
I'm annoyed that it has to be some mystery whether the game has it or not. I was looking forward to this feature only to be disappointed with the direct seemingly deconfirming it. And even now it's still only speculative, for all we know it could be for some mode they haven't shown off yet, or story mode, or even local 4 players building only. Come on now Nintendo, this is something that could motivate people to buy the game... and we could be setting ourselves up for disappointment again.
Only reason I can see for them hiding it is so people still buy NSMBU.
@Toads-Friend The costumes being locked behind (often unavailable) amiibo was not fun to me. I have about 5 amiibo and unlocking the rest through Expert challenges was not something I would enjoy. I wouldn't be surprised if they saw many not unlocking the costumes and made some sort of change.
In January I got Splatoon 2 from the eShop for 30% off and bought Smash at full price (and physical). The eShop sales can sometimes offer similar value to these tokens with more freedom (when they happen that is).
I've pretty much decided to be satisfied with the addition of the YouTube app. Waiting/hoping for Nintendo to add any more utility to the Switch is not something I'm interested in any longer. I just accept it as it is, if we get more, then that's great.
@Stocksy These (mostly) aren't Fortnite fans, they're video game fans. The comments are usually filled with hate for it and I'm actually surprised. haha
@Grumblevolcano I think Nintendo just has a roughly 2 year limit on post game launch support. Mario Kart Wii is the first game I can think of which had post launch support with the tournaments, after a while they just started recycling them.
I would prefer for them to keep doing them for longer. I just recently got the game and the newest Splatfest was my first one ever. I played the first game as well but the Splatfests were long over, it's clear they really add to the game.
"..we don’t have any specific announcements as it relates to Switch today" Interesting choice of words... appears to be saying something, but also plausibly might not be at the same time. 🤔
First of all this article could've done a better job of explaining this is only for solo queuing and doesn't stop you from playing with your friends.
Second, on certain mobile devices you can play in 60fps and you can also use a controller. So some mobile players can compete with the Switch actually. Article didn't touch on that either.
Finally, find it funny people calling the first comment childish as if all of the other hate bandwagon comments aren't childish as well. And look how many likes it got haha! I've become desensitized to it at this point. 🤣
@backup368 You're only focused on your negative speculation while ignoring the potential positive aspects of this deal. Your speculation is not fact, so please do not tell me I "don't know how this works". I'm not going to argue with someone who cannot get their point across respectfully.

So from what we know so far this is still restricted to the Americas. Wonder if that will change.
