@sanderev I know what they did but I just don't know why that would make you upset with Epic. If Epic somehow manages to make a difference it would likely have a positive impact for consumers/devs despite their apparent self-serving intentions.

For example, Apple recently lowered the cut they take for smaller app developers, something which could reasonably be attributed to this.

Though if you just meant that Epic is being hypocritical then I see what you're saying.

People seem to be forgetting how long ago 2017 was, Splatoon 2 is not that new.

Seems a lot of people either misinterpreted or didn't read the tweet in the article. Nintendo said last year they would release NO new hardware in 2020. While this time they said no announcements to make in the NEXT FEW months. Very different implications...

Either way, could be nothing, could be something.

@Advancedcaveman The initial beta reveal trailer looked pretty generic and boring but the finished game I actually had a ton of fun with (particularly the multiplayer). That's probably where the game shines the most, still pretty good solo though.

@rockodoodle It's always been 1 per system so I've been 80% sure we wouldn't be getting anything else once they announced the Deluxe version. There's now also the mobile game and the AR one. There's no way they'll drop a new main game right now to take away from them.

I still don't own MK8D but have the original. They could've at least added new tracks. I kinda want to see if it's notably more fun than the original but not at full price.

This was my first Pikmin game (other than the Nintendo Land minigame), and even to me it felt short. It's not because I was having a blast or anything either, I felt the game was just ok.

They need to do this everywhere if they're not gonna fix them.

@valcoholic I feel like the GamePad felt kind of forced into a lot of the Wii U games. Nintendo Land and Mario Maker were the only ones I can think of at the moment where it felt truly important.

I agree that as someone who already owns this game this is a port I wanted to happen, this game deserves recognition and a wider audience. Only annoying thing is it means no sequel!

Cool to see an original Splatfest again. I didn't get to play many before they ended.

Wish 64 and Sunshine got more graphical improvements and Galaxy 2 was included. Happy more people will get to experience 3D World, wonder if the new content will make it worth repurchasing.

Already played the Wii U version. Yet another port I'll be skipping... especially with the anti consumer practices and pricing.

@Tendogamerxxx Mario Kart 8 and New Super Mario Bros. U were relatively popular (for Wii U) and still don't have sequels either. Mario Maker, Splatoon and Smash do though. If Nintendo doesn't want to make a sequel they simply won't.

@marandahir Ah that makes sense, thanks for taking the time to respond. It definitely wasn't a computer level experience by any means, but by console standards it was pretty neat.

@marandahir In comparison to what? I think the Wii U browser was the best console browser experience I've ever used. Touch screen interface, decent speed, tab support, and user agent switching for increased compatibility.

The YouTube app on Wii U is so bad despite looking similar to the modern app the Switch and others use.

The Wii U browser used to be my main way to watch YouTube and the dual screen experience was part of that. I now have an Amazon Firestick, PS4 and Switch which can fulfil these duties by pairing then with my phone. Glad I no longer have to rely on Wii U/Nintendo alone.

Some of these comments... People aren't simply upset because of having to replace or repair the product. They're upset at the clear reduction in quality compared to Nintendo (and the others) in the past. That's not a direction anyone should want them to head in.

@Ralizah I played 2 first then the original. Galaxy 1 had more of a dark, spacey, story heavy atmosphere. Galaxy 2 was straight lighthearted gameplay which is actually why I like it better. The Comet Observatory is the better hub but the Starship was more convenient to navigate.

To me the level design seemed more polished in 2 likely following their experience designing for the original game, but I suppose that's personal preference. Also preferred the green starts to replaying the whole game as Luigi.

This seems like too many games to release in one year.

My Switch JoyCon from summer 2018 still work perfectly. In Canada so can get them replaced free if necessary. With that said I completely agree that Nintendo should be doing more to address the situation. I don't understand why they appear so opposed to making a revision, this wasn't an issue with the Classic Controller Pro or the Wii Remote Plus.

Nintendo should make their soundtracks officially available on YouTube and/or other streaming services.

This article is over half a year old, why not write another one instead of updating this one? The comments are filled with outdated replies and a lot of the article is outdated as well.

@holygeez03 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released for the Switch back in 2017. I'm thinking Nintendo has no intention of releasing another.

Not likely to happen, most of the notable entries are already in the anniversary collection. IV is being snubbed for V, and V is a Sony exclusive.

I don't agree with automatically writing this off as not an issue on the Lite. But I also don't agree with jumping to the conclusion that it's still definitely a problem without waiting and seeing.

With that said, I thought this poll was poorly designed as it's missing an important "I don't have a Switch (Lite)" option. Polls are easily skewed when there isn't a clear option for people who just want to vote (especially such a massive group). On second thought, considering the cheeky tone of this article it may have been done on purpose.

@Mr_Kaos I don't own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as I already have the original with all the DLC. I need more than just the battle courses to make it a justifiable purchase at full price. ($90 Canadian) The Breath of the Wild and Labo controls are more like cosmetic/control updates, not really new content I can play.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn't have DLC either.

I could see Nintendo already having the Switch Lite designed and ready to manufacture before they "acknowledged" the drifting issue. We'll simply have to wait and see.
