@GamingFan4Lyf I hope that's not the case, that it's their signature style. I always assumed they sacrifice it because AA is memory intensive and the hardware isn't up to it. Although Alien Isolation proves otherwise. If they don't make use of it on Switch 2, though with the capabilities it has, then it would seem you're right and it is their style.
@GamingFan4Lyf Every new console since Wii, I've hoped it would be the one that gets rid of jaggies and flickering lines. I never used to know it was called aliasing till a few years ago. But it's bothered me since GameCube..It takes away a little immersion. I assumed Switch 2, would surely be the one, and all 1st party games will look clean and flicker free. This trailer doesn't inspire confidence.
@Rainz Yeah it didn't impress. YouTube compression can only take so much of the blame. I'm going to go with the belief that it's just a demo. If the Switch 2 has PS4 Pro+ power, the first new MK in 10 years will surely be a game that shows off the power of the console.
Or perhaps the Switch 2 isn't so powerful after all.
I'm fine with the DK's design. I'm just a little unimpressed with how the game looks. I was expecting a seismic leap in graphics comparable to MKWii to MK8. I'll hold my judgement until April 2 though. Perhaps that was just a tech demo to give some clues, like 24 player racing and wide open tracks.
@anoyonmus I'll be very happy with that. Comparable with Series S is about the best I'm hoping for. That would be quite a leap from Switch, which is basically a PS3 Pro. With DLSS as well, 1st party games are going to look incredible. Although that Mario Kart glimpse was a little underwhelming. Hopefully that was just a tech demo.
@Lord Not a fan myself. I loved the red/ blue of the Switch. I'm guessing there will be another colour choice for launch. Let's hope it's not the colour of the UI. Basic Salmon.
@Waveboy Golf and tennis games peaked on Wii because of its motion controls. Every game since is a step back Tiger Woods 10 and Grandlam Tennis took immersion to the next level.
I said in the past that all I really want from Switch 2 is backwards compatibility, a sizeable boost in power and a dock that gives the graphics a boost over handheld. We don't know what the dock will do but it seems we've got the first 2. So I've got what I asked for yet somehow I feel disappointed that it looks so similar. Although I'm sure it'll have something that sets it apart. If it had a 3D screen, surely they would have shown that in the trailer. So we can probably rule that out.
@AnnoyingFrenzy I imagine most FPS and RTS will have mouse controls as an option. Just like how motion controls are optional in some games. It's there for whoever wants to use it
With the shovelware filter enabled, there are 18 games between the previous 2 Arcade Archives releases, Castle of Dragon and Warrior Blade. With the filter off, there are EIGHTY TWO! I had no idea it was that bad. I haven't browsed new releases for a long time.
I skimmed through the article at first, thinking it was just for fun. But nope, you actually have created a 'better Eshop'. I'll give it a proper browse later and definitely make use of this. Let's hope Nintendo betters Nintendolife's effort even further with the Switch 2, Eshop.
@AmplifyMJ I don't feel confident saying it was definitely the Saturn one I played. My memory it's telling me I played it on Saturn but it's also telling me it wasn't the original. The title of the Dreamcast one, Last Revelation, doesn't ring any bells though.
@joey302 It would be amazing. Sega Ages Virtua Racing and Outrun were a perfect example of what they need to do with their classic racing games. I have put a lot of hours into both, they're still superb to play. The fact Daytona, Sega Rally and Coast to Coast already have amazing 360 ports but are nowhere to be seen, is a crime. These should be generational releases. The hard work with remastering is already done.
Let's hope you're right and the delistings mean they've got something big planned.
@DripDropCop146 I came here to ask which is the better collection of games, this or the first one. Going by your comment, I assume it's the first one? I think I've only ever played one TR game, either on the Saturn or Dreamcast.
I remember the days when Alex was just a NL commenter like us. I can vaguely picture his profile pic too. It was his face, possibly with a cigarette in the mouth and he was trying to look cool with his collar up. His username escape me though. Pretty sure it was 4 or 5 letters and started with an F.
@The-Chosen-one For the first year, the Eshop was fun to browse. It seemed to be curated with most new releases being of a certain quality. A few awful games got though like Vroom in the Night Sky but they were few and far between. Even that though is of higher quality to some of the nonsense that's now releasing every week. It would be interesting to know how profitable it is for Nintendo having all this low quality shovelware on there. Surely it's hurting the sales of quality games that are getting lost among the new releases.
I wonder what the odds on GTAVI being part of the Switch 2 reveal are? A good chance? An outside chance? Or absolutely no chance? GTA's history with Nintendo consoles suggest the latter but the enormous success of Switch suggests it would be mad not to port it. If GTAV had been on Switch early on, it would be competing with MK8D as the best selling Switch game.
I wish Sega would copy Capcom and release collections of their arcade games. Imagine Sega Racing Collection, with HD remasters of Daytona, Sega Rally, Outrun Coast 2 Coast, Power Drift, Super Hang On and Slipstream. They could add the Ages port of Virtua Racing too. Add online multi player and leaderboards and it would be an incredible collection that would surely be successful. It doesn't even need to be remasters. Just include the 360 versions of Daytona, Rally and C2C.
Or Sega Fighting Collection, with Virtua Fighter, Fighting Vipers,.Last Bronx and maybe a few of their beat em ups. Or how about a Sega Virtua Collection that comes with a light gun. And to compliment these collections, there could be an Capcom Arcade Stadium style collection of their many smaller arcade games.
There's just so much they can do with their classics. But they choose to mostly do nothing with them.
The Switch 2 is likely going to be very well supported from the start. Most developers were caught out with the success of Switch and even when the games did start to come in the 2nd year, it was mostly all ports of older games. Switch 2 will likely get a lot of older ports too but I expect it'll get most new games as well. Hopefully on the same day as the other consoles. If developers can have their games ready for Series S at launch, they can have them ready for Switch 2.
They could offer the games for sale individually to everyone for whatever price but offer a sizable discount to NSO members. This might even encourage some to sign up to NSO. A 50% discount on each Virtual Console for $20 a year subscription will be worth it for those who want to buy more than a handful of VC titles.
Personally, I am happy with NSO and prefer it to Virtual Console but I do think the games should be for sale individually for those who want them. My biggest issue with NSO is the online play for classic games only possible between those on your friend list, Because of this, I have never been able to try it. I'd wager this applies to the majority of subscribers. What I think they should do is, promote a handful of games every month with online matchmaking through the NSO app, that lets you play with randoms. By doing it this way, it ensures the lobby for each game is always full. Games like Super Mario Kart and MK64 should have a permanent spot with 2 or 3 other multiplayer games in rotation.
@Max_the_German I never knew that, makes sense though. It will likely need to be connected to mobile data or WiFi if playing handheld then. Does it have an offline mode?
Playing Flight Simulator while on a flight would be an experience. Hopefully they bring Forza and Gear of War over too. Or even better, Gamepass. But that's unlikely to happen.
@RenanKJ I reckon it's Nintendo that's behind the leaks. Theyve given these companies permission to leaks some info to build up hype..And while he dimensions may be correct , the console itself will look quite a bit different to what's been shown.
I chose ' I want the Acer' size portable. The bigger the better. I'm not really a handheld gamer, I prefer the TV. But if it was a huge tablet like the Acer, I'd absolutely use it in handheld. Especially if it has glasses free 3D.
It's not going to happen though, at least the giant tablet part. I've got faint hope for 3D.
After the Switch was revealed , I recall the majority of analysts saying it was going to flop. So any prediction about how it'll sell before we even know what it is, is not worth the paper it's written on.
It's all going to come down to what games it launches with. How can anyone make a prediction without knowing what games it will have?
@WiltonRoots Wow , I remember reading that post. Going to have a look to see what I was saying about irs chances. Pretty sure I was more positive.about it.
@Rainz I reckon they're deliberately throwing us off scent. There's no way Nintendo would let accessory makers reveal their console and I'll be very surprised if it looks almost identical. They're playing games with us.
@Rainz I'm docked only for the most part but I'd absolutely play handheld sometimes if it had 3D effect. It was very impressive on 3DS. I can only imagine how good it would look in HD or 4K You're right, they did deserve more credit for it..
Is there a chance Nintendo are behind the leaks and fooling us into thinking it looks exactly the same. But then looks radically different when it's revealed.
@Gamecuber While the console may look the same, hopefully the UI is given a major overhaul. With more online and NSO features, quick loading, themes... If it's much the same as Switch with a few extra colours, I'll be disappointed.
@WheresWaveRace .For sure it would. That would make a great launch title alongside a major IP. AAA 4K Waverace with online racing and the most impressive wave physics ever seen.
Just thinking about how amazing Nintendo games are going to look if Switch 2 has close to Series S power. Going from what is a souped up PS3 to a watered down PS5 will be quite a leap.
Mario Kart, Zelda, 3D Mario and Splatoon are going to look absolutely superb.
@vyseofhr I hope that's correct. I will be more than happy with Series S power. As someone who only really games on Nintendo consoles, it will be quite a leap in graphics from Switch. First party games will look incredible.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Pins Hopes On Familiar Fun With Switch 2
It seems to be more of a 'New Nintendo Switch' , than a new generation of console.
As long as it is significantly more powerful than Switch, I'll be happy. Hopefully the dock gives it a boost too
Re: Joy-Con Mouse Functionality Seemingly Confirmed In Switch 2 Trailer
@Waveboy Yep, so many games were better for having motion controls. Loved Zak and Wiki.
I will get a Quest eventually. My mate has one and he loves it.
Re: Switch 2's Rumoured 'C' Button Isn't Actually A 'C' Button
@Hordak I'd like a SNES style colour scheme with coloured buttons.

@AnnoyingFrenzy Yeah it doesn't look too comfortable. Perhaps it'll have a little base it slots in. We should be able to use a normal mouse too.
