Looking forward to playing this eventually. First RE I haven't been able to play at launch since RE5 as I lack the required consoles.

Phenomenal game. It was really the shot in the arm the series needed at the time. Much like RE1 remake I like replaying this game just to wander around the beautiful decay of the Baker Estate.

I think I prefer RE7 overall, but Village is also a really solid entry. I like how the RE series has sort of branched out from zombies into other genres of horror as it's continued on. RE7 felt inspired by 70s/80s horror like Texas Chainsaw and Evil Dead, whereas Village feels like a tribute to classic Universal horror. You've got werewolves, vampires and Frankenstein's monsters of a sort.

I'm older than the original nes Legend of Zelda, but I didn't get around to actually playing it until it was on the WiiU. And yes, I'm not ashamed to admit that I used a guide.

It does sound interesting. I'm not the biggest fan of this style of platformer, but might be something I check out around halloween times for those spooky vibes.

hmmm, it has an interesting dream-like quality too it. Definitely the kind of game I'd need to be in the right frame of mind to play.

I like those skeletal horses you can ride in BotW and TotK. Sadly neither game lets you register one.

@Tempestryke I don't remember a river, but it's been a while. I recall getting through one of those Doom style fps sections and then getting back outdoors, at which point the t-rex comes running in off screen and easily killed me every time.

Well this is exciting. Never thought I'd live to see the day when Konami releases a new 2d Castlevania.

I didn't grab this collection. I still have bad memories of renting the Snes Jurassic park game from blockbuster and repeatedly getting the game over screen when the t-rex shows up.

This might be a hot take, but, I kinda like Tremors a bit more than Jaws. It's essentially, land Jaws!

A Tremors Nes/Snes style game, now that would be interesting.

@OpheliaDynamight haha, I'm essentially the opposite, I was raised on star trek. I do need to get around to watching Babylon 5. In any case, enjoy tng. Season 1 is a bit rough, but it gets way better from there.

I don't have any means of playing this rn, but it's nice to see Star Trek games still being made. I like Voyager, but I've always preferred TNG/DS9.

Can't believe these aren't available on Switch 1. I do hope they reverse course on that decision.

Well I'll definitely be getting this with the inclusion of the two additional games. Be nice if they also added the Magical Quest games, I have many a fond memory of renting those from Blockbuster back in the day. Capcom was at the top of their game in the 90s.

I like the story in CV but it's definitely my least favourite of the classic style REs from a gameplay perspective. Anyway, hope they keep Alfred as goofy and over top as he is in the original.

@MisterStu yeah I suppose Land explores that concept more fully. I just prefer Day as a movie. Although Land is still a lot of fun.

The concept of zombies retaining memories of their past lives is pretty cool, and reminds me of the Romero Living Dead movies, particularly Day of the Dead(1985).

She looks pretty cool. This pic actually makes me realize Carrie Anne Moss would've made an awesome Lara Croft in her heyday.

Nice! I have this on xbox one, but seeing as it currently resides in a box in my closet, I might just get the switch version. Playing Rescue Rangers is probably one of my earliest gaming memories.

I have Witcher 3 on PS4 and I just couldn't get into it. All these large unwieldy menus, and I was just wandering around picking up a bunch of random herbs and such I had no idea what I was supposed to with. I will give it another chance though, might just not have been in the right frame of mind.

That's interesting. This might be the first time we've had an environment in an RE game where everyone isn't already dead/infected.

Europe for sure. I wish more games would take creative risks like that with their covers, instead of the usual centre frame main character posing shtick.

@BrianJL hah, yeah I imagine she'd burn through a lot of gunships given her lifestyle of constantly escaping exploding planets.

huh, I assumed it took place directly after Corruption. If anything because all the Prime games have taken place before Super, also her gunship at the beginning of Beyond is the same one she flies in Corruption,(as far as I could tell), and not the yellow one from Super. Anyway, it doesn't really matter that much.

If you're new to the series and worried about being lost, all the games are fairly encapsulated stories by design. And any of the games that do reference previous entries do a good job of providing a lengthy prologue detailing the relevant info.

@progx that's true. It just feels a bit odd in this game considering there are multiple characters talking directly to her.

I enjoyed my time with it, basically felt like an old school Metroid Prime game, albeit a bit more linear, (which is fine with me I love Metroid Fusion), and with bike segments in between zones.

as far as gripes go, I feel there could've been more combat sections with the bike/more interesting things to do with it besides travelling from point a to point b. Also the crystal collecting became a bit tedious towards the end. Good game overall tho, solid 8/10

Edit: oh yeah, and it's weird samus doesn't speak at all to the npc's. Since when is she Link?

An impressive technical achievement to be sure, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to play this haha. As much as I do enjoy the original RE1, it can be a bit hard to go back to after playing the phenomenal remake.

I just beat the crab boss in the frozen lab area, but Myles hasn't really bothered me yet. I actually like the Federation troopers, gives the game some more personality. Actually makes me want to go back and play Other M after this haha.

NA really pops, whereas JP is a relatively flat composition by comparison.

Definitely a game I will inevitably pick up, like you know, it's fate or something..

This game is good fun. It has that Treasure quirkiness that is very befitting of Wario.

Seeing as they're going back to Raccoon City for this one, they might keep with the whole full circle theme and bring back Wesker or Spencer as a clone or something. As silly as that is I wouldn't put it past Capcom to do something like that, The series has been over the top ridiculous for awhile now.

It worked out in the end, Leon and Claire are just as iconic as Chris and Jill at this point.

This game feels about 25 years to late. But hey, it's a great movie, if the game happens to be good I'll bite.

Glad it worked out after all that time in development. presently replaying Metroid Prime 3, then I plan to dive into this!

It's cool to see how all three artist's interpreted the character differently. NA's definitely the most 80s with that outfit they gave him haha. I think JP is my personal fav though, and not just because it made the bold choice to include infamous historical villain with distinctive mustache looming in the sky.

Being an Alien fan I eagerly picked this up back in the day, but ultimately remember being disappointed by it. I'd give it another go, but I no longer have my copy.

This looks reminiscent of Shogun Showdown, which I have sunk many hours into, so I may check it out eventually.

I feel a couple of those Street Fighter 2 ports could be removed to make room for different games. All you really need is SF2:Turbo.

I must say, I do like the version with the wood panelling. We haven't had that aesthetic on a console since the Atari 2600 I would guess.
