Gotta love those pre-rendered backgrounds. As much as I do enjoy the newer Resident Evil games, the fixed camera angles of the old games really gave them a unique, haunting atmosphere.
I remember picking this up in 2015, right before I went on a week long portage with my two sisters and a couple friends. Backwoods camping seemed like the perfect setting to play some Zelda, and it absolutely was. Crazy to think that was nearly ten years ago.
Resident Evil remake. I've played so many times the Spencer Mansion almost feels like it's my own home. It'd be fun to go back to a time when it was actually still scary, and I had no idea what was through the next door.
This actually looks really good. I used to hate Qbert, but was playing at a barcade with a friend a few years back, and we could not stop trying to beat each other's high scores.
Speaking personally, for me it's all about balance. I love kicking back on the couch with a beer and playing some vidya games, but it's always 1000 times more rewarding when I've spent the day out riding my bike, or otherwise been active in some capacity.
@Bunz Hyper Light Drifter is amazing. I've lost count of how many times I've replayed it. Perfect combination of atmosphere, exploration and intense combat.
I think NA takes it, it has the most dynamic poses, and I like the blue sky with the city scape in the BG. Europe feels oddly static and flat, whereas Japan is just kind of cluttered.
Never played Crazy Taxi or Jet Set Radio, but the other three are very appealing to me. Hopefully they'll be up to the same level of quality as Streets of Rage 4.
Luigi does have Mr Bean energy now that I think about it. Also the three wheeled car from the show seems like something that would exist in the mushroom kingdom.
@Woderwick Yeah, the attempt to be overtly edgy and dark in Warrior Within is cringe inducing, but it actually is still a pretty great game. I like the haunting atmosphere of the island of time, or whatever it was called, and the combat is much improved over the original. The third game, (Two Thrones), is interesting in the sense it brought back the prince's voice actor from the first game, as well as using the guy from the second game as the prince's inner dark side, fittingly enough. Their banter throughout the game is quite funny and well done.
Speaking of ska, I saw the Planet Smashers play last month, which was a lot of fun. One of the openers, The Dreadnoughts actually stole the show. They're a self professed Polka, sea shanty, punk rock band. They sang a traditional sea shanty while a dude, (named stinkin jimmy or something), was crowd surfed from the stage all the way to the bar, was passed a beer, and crowd surfed all the way back. Don't see that everyday!
They definitely improved the Ashley section in the RE4 remake.
I've played the RE1 remake countless times at this point, but I've always found the caves/mining area to be tedious and dull. Running around with that stupid crank, and those insta-kill boulders that can ruin your day if you're not careful.
I'd like to shout out Prison City. If you're a fan of 80s/90s action movies, and nes style action games like me, I highly recommend it. Upon beating the game you're treated to a hilarious 90s style rap song as the credits roll, which was all the rage at the time. The developers definitely know their target audience.
Very interesting. It's a shame Wario never made it to the final version, that would've been rad. Booster always kinda reminded me of Wario though...I'm wondering if he was originally supposed to be Wario and then became a new character.
Played through not all that long ago on my 360. Great game with a great story. The water effects when you're out in the hovercraft are still impressive to this day.
As much as I enjoy BotW and TotK, and it's not to say they're completely devoid of horror elements, (Ganondorf's mummy for instance), I really hope the next Zelda brings back the overall darker, spookier tone that Ocarina and Majora's Mask both had in spades.
Yep, I can see it now, In 200 years Charlton Heston is gonna come riding up a beach on horseback, only to discover a ruined Snorlax monument.. "YOU POKEMANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP!!!"
I think it holds up just fine as is, that being said, it would be a treat to see it with a new coat of paint. Kinda like that fan made HD project. It retains the overall tone of the original, just re imagines it with modern visuals.
Definitely a case of the right place, right time, (circa 1999), but I was completely hooked the first time I played through kokiri forest/Deku Tree. Having been someone who mostly just played Snes platformers at the time, being thrown into such a lush, immersive world was kind of mind blowing.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2024
Chrono Trigger! Seriously why is it not already on the system?
Besides that, more Capcom arcade games. CvS 1 & 2, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Rival Schools, Alien vs Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, all that good stuff.

A new Golden Axe and/or Shinobi would be sweet.
Re: Hands On: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Royally Delivers On Switch
This looks great to me. Just looking at the screenshots I'm reminded of the earlier God of War games.

Re: Zelda Movie Director Wants Film To Feel Like "Live-Action Miyazaki"
I mean, Ghibli films feel the way they do, BECAUSE they're animated. I'm not sure it's something that can even be replicated in live action.
Re: Oh Dear, Contra: Operation Galuga's Physical Edition Is A Download Code In A Box
Absolutely bizarre. Hey Konami, you'd probably save a few bucks on manufacturing empty plastic boxes if you just released it digitally..
Re: Contra: Operation Galuga Trailer Showcases Guns, Aliens, And Probotector
I thought Contra 4 was excellent, so I'm down for this.

Shadow Link is a cool mid boss, but the water temple is my least favourite in the game.
Re: Review: Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection (Switch) - A Fair Flock, But Far From 'Classic'
I remember renting the snes game back in the day, and just dying over and over again. Not something I necessarily want to revisit haha.
Re: Anniversary: Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Is 10 Years Old Today
Great classic style Zelda. I remember playing around Christmas time years ago during a days long blackout, until my 3ds inevitably died haha.
Re: Switch Online Is Expanding The N64 Library With Rare's Jet Force Gemini
