Cyberbots - Think Street Fighter but with giant mechs

Last Blade 2 - Great fighter set in feudal Japan, with gorgeous sprite animation

Kizuna Encounter - Really fun tag team fighter set in a Road Warrior style post apocalyptic world.

and of course all the Darkstalkers games

@LadyCharlie I think I agree with you for the most part, I generally play games for the gameplay first and foremost. However that’s not to say a game can’t also weave a compelling narrative on par with any book or film. It’s just another story telling medium.

If it's a heavily story driven game, then yes I absolutely want to go in blind. For instance, if I had played God of War Ragnarok, knowing the twist towards the end, it probably would've ruined my experience.

This all but confirms Switch 2 will have Smell-O-Vision.

I thought this was a solid MegamanX style action platformer. I gave up on the final boss tho, should give it another shot.

@MSaturn @Woderwick Mandy was incredible, I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time. Was lucky enough to catch it in the theatre when it came out. This game does seem to share it's colour palette.

Never had an issue with fixed camera angles and tank controls, but this just looks like pain.

Jesus, 2017 feels like a lifetime ago. This would probably sting a lot more if we hadn't gotten Metroid Dread in the interim.

Not a genre I've dabbled in before, but I am a horror fan, and I love the aesthetic of this. Perhaps I'll give it a look see.

Well this is exciting.

I watched most of the first movie randomly with a buddy last week. It was, pretty bad. Shang Tsung just looked like somebody's dad, he lacked the menace of the original actor. And I don't know why they felt the need to create an original character, when the games already have a massive roster to draw from. I appreciated the uncompromising gore tho, even though the obvious cgi was distracting.

I think the classic series is the most visually striking, but I kinda like the EU cover as well. Looks like it could be a 70s prog rock album cover.

Really enjoyed this on 3ds back in the day.

@CANOEberry Oh yeah, I got a goat, some chickens, a little garden, and a moonshine still down by the river next to my shack. Yeah, I wish. Maybe one day, but for now I’m one of those inner city hermits that still has to buy groceries, and they are way too expensive.

Maybe Switch 2 will have a feature that lets you eat the video game food, like some kind of replicator tech from Star Trek. Nintendo's always been an innovator like that;)

Always had a soft spot for Shadows of the Empire.

Also, why not the N64 port of Resident Evil 2. Although I would prefer a collection of the original ps1 RE trilogy.

Figure drawing was by far my favourite course back in art school. It also improved my drawing more than anything else.

The food always looks so delicious in Vanillaware games.

I kinda like the JP cover in its own way, it has a charming simplicity to it, but I think the grittier, edgier version wins out. It's just a more interesting, dynamic composition.

Just beat Mario RPG remake, so now I'm replaying Chrono Trigger. Double bill of my fav RPGs.

I played the first one back in the day, it's a great rpg. I remember finding the visuals particularly impressive for a handheld system at the time.

Gotta love those pre-rendered backgrounds. As much as I do enjoy the newer Resident Evil games, the fixed camera angles of the old games really gave them a unique, haunting atmosphere.

2 Switch 2 Furious

I remember picking this up in 2015, right before I went on a week long portage with my two sisters and a couple friends. Backwoods camping seemed like the perfect setting to play some Zelda, and it absolutely was. Crazy to think that was nearly ten years ago.

Resident Evil remake. I've played so many times the Spencer Mansion almost feels like it's my own home. It'd be fun to go back to a time when it was actually still scary, and I had no idea what was through the next door.

This actually looks really good. I used to hate Qbert, but was playing at a barcade with a friend a few years back, and we could not stop trying to beat each other's high scores.

Speaking personally, for me it's all about balance. I love kicking back on the couch with a beer and playing some vidya games, but it's always 1000 times more rewarding when I've spent the day out riding my bike, or otherwise been active in some capacity.

I like his entirely ineffectual space helmet.

@Bunz Hyper Light Drifter is amazing. I've lost count of how many times I've replayed it. Perfect combination of atmosphere, exploration and intense combat.

Besides that, more Capcom arcade games. CvS 1 & 2, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Rival Schools, Alien vs Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, all that good stuff.

I think NA takes it, it has the most dynamic poses, and I like the blue sky with the city scape in the BG. Europe feels oddly static and flat, whereas Japan is just kind of cluttered.

Never played Crazy Taxi or Jet Set Radio, but the other three are very appealing to me. Hopefully they'll be up to the same level of quality as Streets of Rage 4.

Luigi does have Mr Bean energy now that I think about it. Also the three wheeled car from the show seems like something that would exist in the mushroom kingdom.
