I played DK64 on my wiiu a few years ago and that being said, I would much prefer Diddy Kong Racing. I do like the somewhat creepy atmosphere in some of the areas in DK64, but the collectathon nature of the game drives me a little crazy after awhile. I see a trail of transparent bananas I can't collect and sigh deeply.

Just woke up to the first blizzard of the year in my area, so it would be pretty excellent timing if it dropped on Switch this week!

Japan is a bit muddy and dark, the NA/Europe cover showcases the monster and armour much better.

Hmm, I've always thought Megaman had potential to make for a great animated film, and I enjoyed Love Death and Robots for the most part. I'm not entirely convinced by the trailer, but I'll give this a chance. An anthology series based on video game properties is intriguing in any case.

@HammerGalladeBro It might just be the animation style they went with, but yeah, it does look like a lot of the ai generated imagery I've seen.

Hmm, I am a huge Trek fan so I'll wait to see how this one reviews.

I'd love a strategy game like Advance Wars or Into the Breach but centred around Star Trek space battles.

Amazing! I have many fond memories of making dangerously unsafe theme park attractions with my cousin on his pc back in the day.

@Steel76 Kid's movies definitely had more of an edge back then. Even stuff like Willow and Pee Wee's Big Adventure, had their share of disturbing imagery. Large Marge anyone?

The visuals in this game were truly mind blowing at the time, never had I seen the like. Amazing soundtrack, and still a joy to play through to this day. Although DKC2 will always be my personal fav.

While the NA cover has tons of 80s charm, I gotta vote for the bootleg Fist of the North Star artwork.

Echoes is defo my fav out of the 3 Prime games. It has the coolest suit upgrades and environments imo. There's just something spooky about the atmosphere in this game, finding all the dead space marines when you first land on the planet really reminds me of Aliens.

If only they could have cast Micheal Ironside in his prime. Always thought he did a great job voicing the character.

Double Dragon 95 is great, in spite of the fact the film it's (loosely) based on is somehow even worse than the Van Damme Street Fighter Movie. Seeing as this is a sequel of sorts, I will defo grab it.

I like the look of this, but random encounters in RPGs do tend to drive me nuts after awhile, haha.

I remember the kinstones, but I don't think I ever bothered with this so called figurine gallery, as I have literally no memory of it. I tend to ignore side quests that don't appeal to me in most games.

As a fan of horror and urban exploration, this looks right up my alley. A creepy decrepit alley that is.

No grabs eh? Mayor Haggar is deeply disappointed.

Anyway, looks like something I'll probably grab on sale down the line.

Wow, the artwork actually looks really good. I like the premise of Comix Zone, but I've never gotten very far in that game, it's quite difficult.

I've played this one before, it indeed does have an excellent, spooky atmosphere especially for a super famicom game. I recall Jennifer's walking speed being painfully slow though. Also, perhaps just a coincidence, but the main character Jennifer bears a strong resemblance to 1980s Jennifer Connelly.

Definitely have my eye on this one. Looks like they went all out with the visuals. Very cool to see classic metal slug bosses from a different perspective.

Not the most practical pan in any case. Looks like all you can really use it for is making Toad shaped pancakes. You know, besides using it as some kind of makeshift bludgeon.

@WoomyNNYes I agree that Crow Country should be here. I enjoyed it more than Alisa which goes for a similar vibe.

I finished the Castlevania Dominus Collection awhile back, so now I'm playing through Symphony of the Night again. I dig the DS games, but Symphony still is the greatest of this style of 'vania. There's just something special about it. The music, the detailed visuals, everything just comes together perfectly. I just find it a joy to play through again and again, more so than the other games.

Atmosphere is the most important element to me when it comes to horror games, will defo check this one out. Looks like it'll be a good companion piece to Crow Country which was excellent.

I've been playing over the past couple days. Love the haunting atmosphere. Definitely one of the freakiest horror games I've played in recent memory, in spite of it's lofi visuals. Testament to the excellent writing, visual and sound design.

Man, too many great horror themed games coming out this month.

I think RE4 struck the perfect balance between action and horror. RE5 was more of an all out action game, but I still kind of like it mainly because Wesker is such a wonderfully over the top villain. 6 just went completely off the rails. I've tried to replay it several times over the years, I just haven't been able to.

Never heard of this one, looks great though. I'm a sucker for a good Resident Evil-alike.

Yeah, the visuals aren't very appealing to me. They should have gone the route of the recent Shadow of the Ninja remake and just updated the pixel graphics.

Sunshine Manor was a fun little horror game. That being the case I'll probably grab this too.

Considering the Neo Geo's lineup, this is quite a paltry selection, spread across two collections no less. In any case, I already have most of the Neo Geo games I wanted via ACA Neo Geo.

This defo looks like my kinda game. Although it needs the 'Kurosawa mode' from Ghost of Tsushima;)

I mean, how am I not going to vote for an alien snake bug with X-Acto blades for legs.

I dig all the little references to both 2d and 3d Zeldas they seem to be packing into this.

I saw this was out the other day, will definitely grab it down the line. I still have to beat the first Valfaris, that game does not mess around.

Looking forward to trying Haunted Castle Revisited. I've heard so many bad things about the original over the years I've avoided it like the plague.

Can't wait to dive in tonight! Between this and the Castlevania Dominus Collection it's been a good week for the switch, at least as far as my gaming tastes go.

Speaking of liminal space, was at the production office for a show I'm working on the other day. They set up shop in a small section of an old law office that had been in disuse for god knows how long. Holy crap, I'm gone for a few days and this news drops, frikin incredible!!

I played this only recently, it's a solid Capcom beat 'em up, up there with the greats. They really were the kings of the genre during the 90s.

This looks quite intriguing. Love those gorgeous isometric visuals.
