I really love the JP cover, I've never seen it before. But I gotta vote for NA for purely nostalgic reasons. It takes me back to scouring the snes section of my local video rental store back in the day. Also this game really need to come to NSO already.

Oh yes, I can confirm Toronto has beaches. You'll often find me there with a beer and a good sandwich. Anyway, always nice to see some Toronto representation. I work in film and television and TO is always standing in for a more famous city like NY or Boston. Don't think I've ever worked on a show that actually takes place here haha.

DKC2 will always be #1 in my heart. My sister recently picked up Bonanza, looking forward to seeing what all the hubbub is about next time we hang.

Haha, I've actually never played this game either.

I like the ship schematics in the JP version, but overall it's way too dark and muddy. The bright colours and dynamic action of the NA cover just leap off the page, er box. It actually makes me want to play the game so I gotta go with that.

This definitely looks like something that'd be up my alley, however the intentionally obtuse gameplay has me a bit concerned. Castlevania 2 is basically the only game in the series I haven't beaten. So perhaps I'll try to finally complete it, and then dive into this.

I saw the movie relatively recently, it was great. The retro synthwave soundtrack definitely elevated it for me.

Great game that builds upon the foundation of BotW. I’ll still load my old save file, and just mess around in the open world, very relaxing just wandering around discovering caves and such. Very curious where the series will go next, that’s when I think I’ll be interested in picking up a switch2.

A true classic, I still revisit my old gamecube copy from time to time. Always loved Ganondorf's characterization in this.

Well I don't have a Switch 2, but I finally picked up Contra Operation Galuga, it's 50% off in the eshop rn. So I will be playing that on my Switch 1.

I've owned the NA version for years, so I have some nostalgic connection to it, but I think the JP version is just better. It showcases much more of the massive character roster, which is what this game is all about. I've always loved this art style, looks like the artist was drawing with pencil on some kind of textured surface.

Rampart on snes is one of the greatest ever. You get to make the the loser walk the plank!

This game is most definitely a product of it's time, but I still kinda love it. It's got charm to spare. Always loved the aesthetic of pre-rendered backgrounds, even if at times it can get disorienting transitioning from screen to screen.

I'm not even the biggest FF fan, but that mug is delightful.

I generally prefer the aesthetic of pixel art for retro style games such as this, but this game along with SoR4 are an exception to the rule. Absolutely stunning art and animation.

What exactly makes this game so special that it warrants the increased price? Don't get me wrong it looks good, but what sets it apart from the numerous other comparable shmups available via AA for the standard price?

I have no intention of getting a Switch 2 anytime soon. I still play my switch more so than my other consoles, as I've just accumulated such a huge library of awesome retro arcade games, not to mention indie titles.

Can't wait! Most excited for CvS2, but I'm looking forward to checking out some of the other games I have less experience with such as plasma sword and project justice.

What's everybody's Main lineup up in cvs2 btw? I normally go with Ryu, Haohmaru and Sagat.

This one definitely has me intrigued.

If they remake DMC1 they need to keep perhaps the greatest line of dialogue in vg history,

@KociolekDoSyta There is a new Onimusha coming out, they released a trailer a month or two ago. Not sure if it's a reboot or a sequel, but it looks pretty darn cool, I'm stoked.

I do like the premise of this game, not sure it’s for me though. Guess we’ll see how it turns out.

Having recently re-read the books, I was thinking an open world game where you could literally walk all the way from Bag End to Mount Doom would be incredibly cool. You could have the world populated with enemies, or just a passive mode where you can just relax and experience the scenery.

I was fine with orange, but the red is a bit too intense. I think cool colours, like a blue or blue-grey work better for menus such as this.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy haha yeah, I suck at Galaga too. If you like 1943, then you'll dig the Strikers games, they're pretty similar. There's also a couple 194X games available via Capcom arcade stadium, I'm pretty sure you can purchase them individually too.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy I'd recommend psikyo shooting stars alpha and bravo. Both compilations of some great vertical and horizontal scrolling shooters, my favs being the Strikers and Gunbird series. All the games have variable difficulty levels, on the easiest setting it's almost impossible to lose. There's also good old Galaga for something a little more old school.

@Truegamer79 Bloodborne is amazing, definitely my fav in the series, at least out of the one's I've played. I dig the lovecraftian horror theme, and the combat just clicks with me moreso than the other games. I do hope it comes to switch 2, just so more people can experience it.

Can't wait to compare and contrast this to Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound when they both release. They both look incredibly cool in their own right.

I already have all the new REs on my PS4, so I don't really need them again on Switch 2. I know I say this in every one of these articles, but a collection of the PS1 RE trilogy on Switch would be amazing. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't already happened, and doesn't seem likely to now that the Switch is on it's way out.

I was always partial to the 'Mega Moles' from Mario World. Very satisfying to take them out with the cape.
