I enjoyed Resurrection back when it released, I oughta revisit it, now that spooky season is nigh. Now I'm just waiting for Capcom to resurrect Demon's Crest, which I think I might actually like even more than Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.
@Coffee-Waffle Definitely not just you. I enjoy the Prime games, but 2d metroid is where it's at. Super Metroid is still peak, ( in my humble opinion).
I'll have to reserve judgement until I play obviously, but my initial reactions to the bike gameplay were very positive. I mean, we've already had 3 Metroid Prime games, all with very similar gameplay, I'm fine with them shaking up the formula a bit and trying something new. As long as it feels cohesive to overall experience, and not shoehorned in like the arwing missions in Starfox Adventures for instance. That being said, if it was revealed that we finally got to pilot Samus's gunship I'd probably be even more excited haha.
It's pretty cool that the vast majority of Capcom's 80s-90s arcade repertoire is avaible on switch. I really just want the AvP and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs beat em ups at this point, but I know the licenses make that unlikely.
Seriously? You can't just play the games on your tv with a controller? That's actually ridiculous and limits the number of people who will bother to play these games.
@Truegamer79 yeah, it is an odd choice. They kinda did the same thing with the Devil May Cry series. Dante is still playable, but he takes a back seat to Nero in DMC 4 and 5. I liked the new characters in ragebound, it'd just be nice if the og protagonist were there too.
I can't speak to Silksong, but I played through Hollow Knight, and found it tough but fair. When I messed up,it was clear where I went wrong, usually just a matter of perceiving a given boss's patterns. I always did a little better the next attempt, and that's the kind of difficulty I enjoy.
Whereas certain other games, for instance I'm trying to play Nioh again right now, the difficultly feels like slamming repeatedly into a brick wall with no real progression between attempts. It's more about level grinding, than having a better understanding of a bosses patterns.
Also, I fully admit I might just suck at Nioh, and have more of a grasp of Hollow Knight's gameplay, haha.
Anyway, I understand finding satisfaction through adversity, but in the end games are meant to be entertainment. I'm all for modern games having variable difficulty to suit the players skill level.
@WaveBoy yeah, all those you mentioned are great, particularly Cyber Shadow. I'd also recommend Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider it's in a similar vein.
I liked the first half of The Messenger, where it just plays like a classic linear ninja action game. But it kinda looses me in the second half when it basically becomes a metroidvania. I need to revisit Katana Zero, it was actually one of the first switch games I got, so it's been awhile since I've played. I do recall being frustrated by the trial and error style of game play.
I played Ninja Five-O briefly via an emulator. It seemed fun, but I didn't play long enough to really have an informed opinion.
I thought this and Ninja Gaiden:Ragebound were both pretty freakin great. I am thoroughly enjoying this 90s Ninja renaissance. Now we just need a new Strider game.
Would love a remaster, I've been itching to play again for years. I've got a plan to use my bad luck to ensure it happens. I'll shell out for a gamecube copy, which pretty much guarantees it'll come to Switch shortly thereafter. Murphy's law baby. The exact same thing happened when I bought Medievil on PS1. A month later the PS4 remake was announced.
I was never the biggest He-Man fan as a lad, (it was all about the Real Ghostbusters), but this looks fun. Will Skeletor be playable? Skeletor, Shredder, Dr Claw, for whatever reason I always gravitated more towards the villain characters haha.
Happy 30th to my all time fav game series. I see the original versions of RE2 and 3 are out on PS4/5 today. I have them on GC, but if they came to Switch I'd instantly grab them, just to have portable versions.
I really love the JP cover, I've never seen it before. But I gotta vote for NA for purely nostalgic reasons. It takes me back to scouring the snes section of my local video rental store back in the day. Also this game really need to come to NSO already.
Oh yes, I can confirm Toronto has beaches. You'll often find me there with a beer and a good sandwich. Anyway, always nice to see some Toronto representation. I work in film and television and TO is always standing in for a more famous city like NY or Boston. Don't think I've ever worked on a show that actually takes place here haha.
I like the ship schematics in the JP version, but overall it's way too dark and muddy. The bright colours and dynamic action of the NA cover just leap off the page, er box. It actually makes me want to play the game so I gotta go with that.
This definitely looks like something that'd be up my alley, however the intentionally obtuse gameplay has me a bit concerned. Castlevania 2 is basically the only game in the series I haven't beaten. So perhaps I'll try to finally complete it, and then dive into this.
Great game that builds upon the foundation of BotW. I’ll still load my old save file, and just mess around in the open world, very relaxing just wandering around discovering caves and such. Very curious where the series will go next, that’s when I think I’ll be interested in picking up a switch2.

I was lucky enough to see them live back in 2007. They were perched atop their pyramid on stage, it was epic.
Re: Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Represents A Turning Point For Switch 2
Still holding out hope it's coming to PS4 as well as that's presently my only way to play it.

Looks pretty rad, like if Huntdown were an FPS.

@Lord It is on a cartridge tho! Came with a sweet little comic book too.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Operation C / Probotector (Game Boy)
Gotta go with NA, that's just badass. The JP one while well rendered, looks like a framed family photo you'd see sitting on someone's dresser haha.

Re: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Patch Adds 60fps Mode, But There's A Catch
Thought this game was great, but it'd be nice if they added a mode where you can play as Ryu. I mean his sprite is already in the game, so why not?

Hell yeah, I'd love a new entry. I'd prefer pixel art tho, and a potential 3rd game would likely be 3d. I'd still take it though.

@EVIL-C Skydome? Don't you mean the Roger's Centre? I kid of course. It is, and always will be the Skydome as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Scott Pilgrim EX Brings More Beat 'Em Up Action To Switch In "Early 2026"
@Fiergala If you end up here, definitely head up to the observation deck of the tower, the view is rather spectacular.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (7th June)
Well I don't have a Switch 2, but I finally picked up Contra Operation Galuga, it's 50% off in the eshop rn. So I will be playing that on my Switch 1.
