Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Bionic Commando (NES)

It's cool to see how all three artist's interpreted the character differently. NA's definitely the most 80s with that outfit they gave him haha. I think JP is my personal fav though, and not just because it made the bold choice to include infamous historical villain with distinctive mustache looming in the sky.

Re: Poll: Will You Play Resident Evil Requiem In First-Person Or Third-Person?

OldManHermit

@anoyonmus I can't remember where I read that, so it could've been bogus info. Still, I wouldn't rule out there being some kind of connection. They establish in RE Village that Ozwell Spencer the founder of Umbrella actually met mother Miranda, (the main antagonist of that game), and the Umbrella logo was even inspired by the mysterious symbols on the ruins around the village. Seemed like they were setting something up with that. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Re: Opinion: Metroid Prime 4 Reminds Me Of Gears 5, And It's Making Me Nervous

I'll have to reserve judgement until I play obviously, but my initial reactions to the bike gameplay were very positive. I mean, we've already had 3 Metroid Prime games, all with very similar gameplay, I'm fine with them shaking up the formula a bit and trying something new. As long as it feels cohesive to overall experience, and not shoehorned in like the arwing missions in Starfox Adventures for instance. That being said, if it was revealed that we finally got to pilot Samus's gunship I'd probably be even more excited haha.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

OldManHermit

I can't speak to Silksong, but I played through Hollow Knight, and found it tough but fair. When I messed up,it was clear where I went wrong, usually just a matter of perceiving a given boss's patterns. I always did a little better the next attempt, and that's the kind of difficulty I enjoy.

Whereas certain other games, for instance I'm trying to play Nioh again right now, the difficultly feels like slamming repeatedly into a brick wall with no real progression between attempts. It's more about level grinding, than having a better understanding of a bosses patterns.

Also, I fully admit I might just suck at Nioh, and have more of a grasp of Hollow Knight's gameplay, haha.

Anyway, I understand finding satisfaction through adversity, but in the end games are meant to be entertainment. I'm all for modern games having variable difficulty to suit the players skill level.
