Some shops do go physical discounts for day one preorders. Even the big AAA games.
I think like TOTK you could get for about £37.99

I think the two Japanese companies Sony and Nintendo do sometimes do good discounts in the UK as well.

I think the original price is always a max price and they leave some leeway for discounts and deals later on.

Playing SMG2 on a Sony 65” QD OLED.
It does look a lot better and very sharp and clean and smooth as hell.

2 of Nintendos most highest score 3d platform games ever made, built within 3 years from one another. 97 on meta.

In October 2026 it’s NINE whole years since Odyssey. Game development is soooooo longggggg and slowwwwww nowadays.

Will be playing SMG 2 on switch 2 on Thursday release day.

Reading the reviews, goes to show these games are still the best there has almost ever been in still after all these years.

I’m just hoping Nintendo surpasses them with a new switch 2 Mario platform game, hopefully in 2026, 9 staggering years since odyssey.

We need games at 60fps minimum
So much smoother and less graphical blurr etc.
Just try TOTK with the switch 2 update etc.

Shame the switch 2 is great with Nintendo AAA MKW and DKB for 60fps.
But as soon as get near a generation game we are back to 30fps.

After playing the demo, so far I agree with you.
MK8 deluxe was the best MK for me.
I have hardly touched the new MKW, took much much chaos.

What became a must have has now turned into a maybe. It had a very very low key video at the direct.
However they are selling special editions and amiibo so it must be ok 🤣

Ok so enjoyed Woolley world and crafted I got 100%.

Maybe I’m being daft but was there actually any enemies in this game?
Looked like a world environmental puzzle solving game only to me.

The only thing apart from the low reveal MP4 video, very concerning, that was any good in that terrible direct.
I guess at least we getting 4K docked on switch 2.
Game pass ultimate, still the best value in gaming by miles and across multiple devices.
The two Japanese companies looking more and more penny pinching every day.

Well won’t be long until 2pm UK time.
I will keep my expectations low and if Galaxy 2 remaster happens this year, will jump for joy.
If not and it’s just a bit of this and let then it would not surprise me as Nintendo as amazing as they can be, can also be a let down at times.

Anything less than a Mario Galaxy 2 port in HD full screen will be a let down for me on the Mario front and to release this year.

But I hope I’m wrong, I think they well mess around with maybe a lesser game or send out sticker packs and pencil cases instead 🤣

Apart from MKW and DKB my switch 2 is alone until Nintendo give me something else.
Of course MP4 should be this year.

My hopes big new AAA games from Nintendo studios for Switch 2.
After Metroid Prime 4, there is zero for me.

Well at least it’s back to my PS5 Pro for Ghost of Yotei and the new big third party AAA games coming up.

I could never own just a Nintendo console as great as their own big AAA studio games are.
There is just not enough of them, and of course any third party games are old or less compared to PS5 Pro or Series x.

Really enjoying MKW and definitely DKB.
But we need more first party AAA Nintendo NEW switch 2 games.
The only reason I have a switch 2 is for those Nintendo AAA games and I have that feeling it maybe slow coming, apart from Metroid Prime 4 there is nothing else for me.
Forget patched old switch games and small add on’s.

Third party games when you have a series x and PS5 Pro are absolutely nothing on switch 2.

They have had many years to get ready for this and unless we get a Direct showing us what’s next from Nintendo AAA in house studios it could be very dull end of 2025 and first half of 2026.

I hope they are not going the way of Sony and slowing down on first party new big switch 2 AAA games, just because they can sell consoles by doing not much and cost cutting on the way.

Being honest even though a day one switch 2 owner.
I still get on my series x with GPU for those games that I want to play, like Doom dark ages and Outerworlds 2 and Ninja G 4.
It has its uses as my switch 2 will not touch these games and even if released for switch 2, nowhere near the performance of a series x.

Also a total lack of new items in the My Nintendo store to spend your silver points on.
I know the USA and Japan have new stuff.

But don’t forget the UK and I guess Europe NINTENDO.

Nintendo know it’s ready and the exact release date.
Let’s not forget the posters in the London train underground a couple of months ago.

Correct as digital sales are not include and the switch 2 bundle is MKW digital download code not physical.

By far my favourite switch 2 game DKB.
Now bring on MP4
and a nice surprise of Mario Galaxy 2 HD
for the Mario 40th anniversary

Nintendo handhelds always do well in the UK.
So switch and switch 2 being handheld hybrid would do well in the UK.
The Wii Did well too.

Not my type of game souls like give me TOTK any day.
Also it’s 30fps so Boooooooo.
But glad switch 2 is getting the game for others.

DKB, so far at sub level 600 but need to go back to 500, but at 100% I think.

Let’s hope they continue to invest in studios and give us gamers some more amazing Nintendo AAA games for switch 2 like DKB.

Wow I remember my Neo Geo days going into mainly London to buy the games and exchanging some of the old ones so I could afford them.
I even had a TV that could run the system ok, which was hard to come by in the old days with the 50/60hz thing in the UK.

Towards the end of my Neo Geo days I think 2 of the last games I had was Last Resort and Top Hunter.

Well that makes a nice change someone going independent rather then getting bought up by a big firm.

Lacklustre and more so following the news of a 30fps borderlands 4 on switch 2.
I think Nintendo still have a lot of work and learning when it comes to third party top end support.
I shall continue playing the great MKW and amazing DKB and wait for MP4.

Depends how inferior and how good the developers are with the switch 2 and things like DLSS.
60fps is so smooth and with so much less blur when panning.
TOTK looks so much better on switch 2 at 60fps when panning, and not a blur mess now.

You have a lost a sale now at 30fps.

I’m die hard digital now a days it’s so easy no swapping out cartridges. Just grab and go.
If any console out of the big three switch and switch 2 suits digital most being a handheld as well.
I’m digital with every single bit of media I have games, music and video.
Even in my car all on a little usb stick.
Every thing is so easy and simple, push and play the convenance is genius.

I think like you said in docked mode you would need VRR working first then maybe try and target 60fps.

I don’t think it will happen as VRR is not working docked yet and also the developers would have to invest time trying to achieve 60fps.
Guess I will have to stick with 40fps which is ok ish.

They should get rid of the auto save stutter really, mildly annoying.

Also would be great to have a 60fps mode, currently playing at 40fps docked which is good but 60fps would be the real icing on the cake. 🍰

All sounds pretty good overall with some hiccups.
Yes VRR in docked mode would be nice.
I’m getting VRR signal to my tv, but obviously not working I guess.
Shall see what FPS I get on the TV when I play the game tomorrow.

I think docked and that’s how I always play switch 2 it’s 1080p at 60fps of course there will be some sort of DLSS upscaling.

Anyway some small drops down from 60fps is not the end of the world.

The only thing that would help docked wise is if they got the VRR working as 60fps is in the VRR range.
My TV is showing VRR on with the switch 2 as I mentioned before so some sort of VRR signal is getting through but obviously not working as Nintendo stated.

I think the Europe base is in Germany
They could do some work in the UK like demo pods etc, but maybe it’s not cost effective for them.
They never really go all out in the UK.

No love for the UK demo wise.
Smyths Toys would be a fantastic choice for switch 2 and DKB demo.
The amount of kids and parents that store gets during the day would be a great promotion.

Then again you wouldn’t be able to buy a switch 2 because of stock shortages so it could be a missed hit.

Having said that Smyths Toys have stock of MKW switch 2 bundle and stand alone switch 2 for home delivery right now.

Anyway would still be fantastic for now and the future.

Had original switch pro controller and never had one issue.
Have a switch 2 pro controller and so far brilliant.

Between myself and my son and decades of gaming only one controller has given stick drift and we threw it away. PS5 duel sense controller, just once.

I’m glad they didn’t go cross generation and hold the game back and went full switch 2.

As for switch 2 in theory Nintendo studios should be able to get a game like horizon forbidden west on PS4 Pro graphics wise.
But time will tell.

Yep will be buying DKB and MP4 definitely
But outside of those 2 and the odd upgrade like Kirby what does Nintendo themselves have left this year.
Even MP4 isn’t Nintendo.
They need a very good stream of Nintendo first party in house studio AAA games.
They have invested in the last year or so, so I’m hoping they up their output.
We could get the Splatoon spin off game I guess.
Maybe Luigi Mansion 4, must be ready soon.

Microsoft should get FH5 on switch 2 right now.
It really is the game that Sony and Nintendo sort of don’t have in that way.
Sony now have it and switch 2 should.

I really wish and probably only Nintendo studios could do this but I don’t know how.

But a game with Horizon forbidden West pure open world graphical performance on the PS4 Pro but with a Nintendo game in Nintendos style is what I would like to see.
In all its glory and texture and environment beauty, maybe in a Mario or Zelda world.

It would be a tough ask as at hand held the game would still need to run only using 1.7 tflops.

I think all companies rightly or wrongly really look at cost and what return on investment they are going to get.
Then as development time passes by, decide to keep the game developing or cut the game, relating to financial assessment.

It’s the same on the high street in the UK every month we hear of shop chain closing some or all of their high street stores in favour of better return on line or the shop is not making any money after rent and employee costs.

I think in gaming of course we get more attached rather than we do with a shop.
