Totally agree series x VRR is flawless and covers by types and works with HDMI 2:0 as well and has LFC range.
Goes to show the company that really isn’t a console manufacturer Xbox brings the best VRR on console and the other two that are better for console and entertainment manufacturer mess it up a bit.

I always stick to official Nintendo gear, no problems at all then.

Bit late with this article and discovery, like you said I think I mentioned this on switch 2 release day when I got mine home.

I must get lucky, with decades of gaming and consoles including switch and now switch 2 never one issue with all makes.

Sometime and I’ve seen this the treatment of games consoles is terrible, most of it is youngsters or even parents that just don’t get it.

My consoles have always sat on a glass entertainment cabinet and well ventilated and given a clean sometimes.
Never had an issue.

Yes I notice on my TV the colour comes out with full RGB.
Just as well me got hdmi 2.1 with 48Gbs, plugged in.
Running A95L QD-OLED so looks fantastic

I use my own 2.1 HDMI cable at 48Gbps
Of course it’s way above switch 2 spec and everything works perfectly.

They did great in the UK preorder wise and stock on release day for a few hours anyway.

UK has had one good restock since at Argos, Smyth Toys etc.

So overall a well organised release.

Yes I think an option to select three lap racing when playing online should be added.
They can do this easy and it would be great to have.

But it is daft and stupid not to give your loyal customers the option.

For me it’s game companies not thinking about customers and just ticking boxes.

More and more I think game companies are run by desk morons or corporates.

Last week there was some good stock activity in the UK but I don’t think it got mentioned on here.

Smyths toys, Argos and Nintendo UK stores all had stock of both, but of course it didn’t last a day.

All the clever stuff people have said above.
But also their game engine itself will probably help massively, and probably specifically produced and designed just for switch 2.

Thank god for Nintendo probably almost the only real game company left that knows what console gaming and exclusivity and getting the best from your console really is about.

I was unsure I doubted Nintendo, considered holding off on switch 2 until later.
I didn’t, got one day one and now with MKW being better than I thought.
And now with this DKB direct I can’t wait, will easy be my GOTY unless Nintendo come up with something else.

I think they need to get more switch 2 in stock in UK. There are people wanting them now, let alone when DKB releases.

It’s great to have both but this not seen as competition chat from Sony is rubbish.

They both sell game consoles and vast amounts of software and subscriptions etc etc.

If Nintendo didn’t exist as of tomorrow Sony would pick up extra sales of all the above.

I’m not totally sure but with 120hz to run cyber punk at 40fps I think you need HDMI 2:1.
But I maybe wrong.
I just use 2:1 as it is the best port to use with higher gigabyte bandwidth and I have peace of mind.

Well I have it plugged in HDMI 4 as it is hdmi 2:1.
I have my TV HDR setting to how I like firstly.

Have HDR set to automatic on switch 2 and TV.
ALLM and 120hz turned on switch 2.

Then just did the set up HDR on switch 2 like the instructions.
All seems fine and OK.

Mines very happy being docked only, so still perfect screen wise.

DKA really needs to hit the AAA Nintendo in house studios hit spot like Mario odyssey and TOTK etc. meta 90 plus.
MKW is at 87.

Reason Nintendo for me with in house studios have that quality high scoring perfect game reputation. And if another big AAA dips below the 90s that will 2 in the row.
It doesn’t take much to reduce your reputation now a days.
I see Nintendo in house as very special, let’s hope they stay that way and don’t start becoming a very good average.

I can see original switch still selling for a long while.
Especially at Christmas if they do the switch MK8 bundle at £250.

For some family’s that is a lot different to switch 2 at £400 then £75 for MKW.

Even the on the PS5 and series x you get it in very heavy graphical games like assassin’s creed shadows etc.
reason normally high graphical foliage, a starting low resolution for the upscaler to upscale from.
DLSS on the switch 2 and PC is at the moment the best upscaler, then probably PSSR for ps5 pro then FSR3 in AMD chips on ps5 and series x. Though programming counts for a lot.

Also 60fps helps massively.

So far the best example I’ve seen with a game was assassins creeds shadows due to the heavy foliage graphics.
Then an update for the PS5 Pro came along using PSSR and it got rid of all the pixel crawl.
Such amazing picture quality now on the Pro with the update.

A lot of switch 2 games don’t get it much as Nintendo stay with the bounds of the console power and programme clever and now with 60fps it shouldn’t be to bad.

Absolutely and at 150cc on MKW.
Took me about 15 tries on the first cup.
Now on the second cup.

Totally brilliant I play docked and it looks really good on my QD-OLED 65” then through my sound system.
A lot better rear sound quality and usage than the switch.
I have not experienced any screen tearing in cyberpunk, MKW, TOTK or splatoon 3 even without VRR which is good.

A lot better frame rates and picture quality.

Overall system is faster and more slick.

Having said all that, this could have been in 2022 and Nintendo are still behind really, but I’m really enjoying and finally after 8 long years a Nintendo console that is more modern.

The main thing now is more console stock into the retailers.
I have managed to get one really easy for preorder and I know a few that got on launch day.

But the UK seems totally out of stock now, I haven’t seen a restock yet but Smyths Toys are saying around the 20th of June.

I run docked on a 65” QD-OLED and it’s pretty dam good, a lot better than I had expected.

My TV has VRR on, which only comes on normally when I get the VRR signal so what’s going on there is anyone’s guess.

Of course running in ALLM, 120hz and HDR all on.

I totally have no regrets, great little console and that Nintendo AAA pure gameplay and polish.
Got the switch 2 pro controller as well, very good.

Switch 2 is really good for me right now and enjoying has I haven’t played Nintendo for a bout a year and it’s been nice to get back to that Nintendo AAA pure gameplay magic.

I’m a big MK8 deluxe fan especially racing on line for points.

For me MKW beats that, we now have 24 racers online and as well as racing standard with have the knockout tournament. Both where you can gain or lose points.
Single player is fun as always, tracks are wider and new weapons and rail grinding etc.

MKW will grow and develop also over time with new open world areas and tracks and cups to race.
10/10 for me.

Yep it’s about business of course and the product life cycle at the end of the day.

What’s the exact hours for cyberpunk out of interest.
I’m docked only.

Sonys best era for me was PS4 by a long mile.
After the first 2 years of the PS5 they have limped along in comparison to the PS4 days for me.
Obviously corporate decisions etc caused this.

However I think it is far more important for Nintendo with switch 2 to really focus and leverage their in house studio AAA games.
I think this generation they will need them more than ever if they wish to keep pace with the original switch sales and amazing success.

They normally are the best at getting the most power out of their consoles.

For me cyberpunk has sent the challenge to them.

I do think cyberpunk on switch is a little miracle for sure and I’m sort of impressed really.

As for PS5 to PS5 pro it’s more smaller things, like assassin creed shadows, the pro patch that uses PSSR creates an extremely clear picture when panning around with no pixel crawl and meshing in the foliage compared to PS5 and series x which is a nice to have, also the ray tracing is improved in 60fps mode.
Not a game changer but when you play on a 65” QD-OLED TV you see the difference and appreciate the improvements.

Switch 2 runs very well and perfect on my TV docked with HDR, 120hz and ALLM always on.
Even VRR is on for some reason, even though it’s not meant to be there on switch 2 docked.
Splatoon 3 looks sublime.
