Re: Video: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Stuns On Switch 2 In This Side-By-Side Comparison

@DennisLofgren
It’s a shame it got released this way, they should have made it simple to return or not overwrite the save.
It’s not the Metroid I had hoped for, I have been on the fence, then watched a live stream of gameplay whilst limiting my viewing.
Yep my brain definitely has some issue with this game, the back and forth in the open area, having to go back to Miles to upgrade things and the bad end game.
It really has been drawn out to add time to the game.
That 10 hours as a first run through is not 10 hours in good ole Metroid game play but a few hours back and forth and dessert traveling.
The game so needs some main fast travel points.
Why am I moaning, I’m just so disappointed that they made this game this way and spoilt an amazing franchise for me.
That has gone from around a very top AAA at 94 ish to 80, lower than ACS and SWO and other games on Switch 2.
For me it’s terrible that the mighty N let this game out the door like this. And my faith in the big N is slowly diminishing since the switch 2 release overall.

Re: The First Review For Octopath Traveler 0 Is In

OldGamer999

Even Japan have issues with MP4.
It’s a low level for Nintendo.
The remaster of MP1 getting 94.
Then MP4 getting 81.
That is a not a good down hill slope, at least when I was at school anyway.
No matter how the N faithful try to fudge it.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form

OldGamer999

@Davestator
Each to their own. 80s is cool.
I have watched some reviews now and I’m not rushing day one for sure.
Driving around that open world and chatty NPCs shouldn’t be there for me.

The stark reality for me is though, a big N AAA game that used to get 90s is now in the very low 80s lower than some games like outer worlds 2 and Star Wars outlaws and AC Shadows.
That’s not Nintendo good for me. And I hope it’s not a sign of things to come from Nintendo studios. Look at MKW, didn’t set the world alight.
Thank god for DKB at least.

@Hero-of-WiiU
I’m not sure it has been happening for about 2 years to most developers be it third or first party.
But sometimes on my consoles I might have a little play on a last generation game and you do sort of get the little feeling of new games released now a days don’t seem overall as good as last generation games.
Games from all consoles this is definitely not Nintendo specific.

Re: UK Charts: Kirby Is Nowhere To Be Seen In A Quiet Week

OldGamer999

Extremely niche game for Europe and the UK.
I really do sometimes wonder if it’s worth all the cost of development etc for games like this.
When time could be sent on or towards a big AAA banger of a Nintendo game.
Also if they actually make any profit on the development time and costs.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team

OldGamer999

It’s a business and these new things are to sell more of the game to a new generation not the old folk like me with the traditional MP experience.
Also to sell amiibo like the bike and who knows maybe the NPC characters as well.
We might think the big N love us, but always remember they are a business.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team

OldGamer999

The reviews will probably go like this.
Amazing MP game play etc etc.
loss of feeling alone due to NPCs can spoil the traditional MP feel.
Open driving sections ok but not really required, there to sell an amiibo bike.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Switch 2 Port Technical Rundown Detailed By Ubisoft

OldGamer999

Star Wars outlaws is the best port to switch 2 and for me allows the console to show off a bit and breaths life into what it can do and third party titles.
It’s the title that says even more so than Nintendos own titles so far, look I’m a switch 2 and I can do this, I can keep up with this generation.
It’s the title my friends look at and have a go on and say wow switch 2 can do this.

I really hope Nintendo take this much advantage graphics wise some of their up and coming switch 2 titles.

As for ACS if it does the same as SWO then Ubisoft will be for me the king of switch 2 developer graphics wise so far.
A bit like Naughty Dog with the PS4 last generation.

Re: Japanese Charts: Kirby Air Riders Is Off To A Flying Start

OldGamer999

It did cool but probably as expected for a sort of niche game.
Now just bring on the MP4 weekend.
For me the big N need or focus on Europe, there are some massive gains console and game sales wise to be had in Europe compared to PS5.
Japan and USA fabulous, Europe some effort to improve more, definitely going on October 2026 European sales.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?

OldGamer999

Does nothing for me this Kirby racing.
I know it’s a different audience but more may have given it a try, if MKW wasn’t so new and around and in a bundle with switch 2.
Surprised Nintendo produced this game, at least now anyway.

It’s like we have tennis next year. What they should focus on next year is football with the World Cup in 2026, create a Mario soccer game and have it so you can play as your national team but Mario style. Like Mario England or Yoshi USA.
Then again Nintendo are sometimes oblivious to world events.
