@Lilligant562 Prime one and of course the remaster are still easy my favourite. Shall see tomorrow how Prime 4 does. PS. It’s all cool, I do exploded sometimes about companies and they could do better. I’m in areospace for work so it all has to be perfect 🤣
@Lilligant562 No just loading up now, I am a massive Nintendo fan, just a bit disappointed. With play tomorrow as on late shift tonight. I can’t resist the game 🤣🤣🤣
@DennisLofgren It’s a shame it got released this way, they should have made it simple to return or not overwrite the save. It’s not the Metroid I had hoped for, I have been on the fence, then watched a live stream of gameplay whilst limiting my viewing. Yep my brain definitely has some issue with this game, the back and forth in the open area, having to go back to Miles to upgrade things and the bad end game. It really has been drawn out to add time to the game. That 10 hours as a first run through is not 10 hours in good ole Metroid game play but a few hours back and forth and dessert traveling. The game so needs some main fast travel points. Why am I moaning, I’m just so disappointed that they made this game this way and spoilt an amazing franchise for me. That has gone from around a very top AAA at 94 ish to 80, lower than ACS and SWO and other games on Switch 2. For me it’s terrible that the mighty N let this game out the door like this. And my faith in the big N is slowly diminishing since the switch 2 release overall.

I wish some sites would stop saying 4K crispness switch 2 quality at 60fps. Even this site ran the DF analysis. Which states on the switch 2 quality mode 60fps. The thin outline of the visor is the only thing that is 4K. The world is actually rendering at 1440p. I actually think this is very miss leading by Nintendo as well.

Even Japan have issues with MP4. It’s a low level for Nintendo. The remaster of MP1 getting 94. Then MP4 getting 81. That is a not a good down hill slope, at least when I was at school anyway. No matter how the N faithful try to fudge it.
@Davestator Each to their own. 80s is cool. I have watched some reviews now and I’m not rushing day one for sure. Driving around that open world and chatty NPCs shouldn’t be there for me.
The stark reality for me is though, a big N AAA game that used to get 90s is now in the very low 80s lower than some games like outer worlds 2 and Star Wars outlaws and AC Shadows. That’s not Nintendo good for me. And I hope it’s not a sign of things to come from Nintendo studios. Look at MKW, didn’t set the world alight. Thank god for DKB at least.
So the quality mode is not native 4k at 60fps Just the visor outline is. The game world renders at 1440p. So basically there is a bit of false advert there from Nintendo.
@Hero-of-WiiU I’m not sure it has been happening for about 2 years to most developers be it third or first party. But sometimes on my consoles I might have a little play on a last generation game and you do sort of get the little feeling of new games released now a days don’t seem overall as good as last generation games. Games from all consoles this is definitely not Nintendo specific.
Extremely niche game for Europe and the UK. I really do sometimes wonder if it’s worth all the cost of development etc for games like this. When time could be sent on or towards a big AAA banger of a Nintendo game. Also if they actually make any profit on the development time and costs.
UBI leading the way on switch 2, right only Nintendo could beat them. Over to you big N for next year 2026 releases. So far nothing on the agenda that’s going to beat it, would be nice if N actually announced the big top AAAs for next year.
With their product the switch 2 and what it is they have secrets to hide or competition to worry about.
It’s a business and these new things are to sell more of the game to a new generation not the old folk like me with the traditional MP experience. Also to sell amiibo like the bike and who knows maybe the NPC characters as well. We might think the big N love us, but always remember they are a business.
The reviews will probably go like this. Amazing MP game play etc etc. loss of feeling alone due to NPCs can spoil the traditional MP feel. Open driving sections ok but not really required, there to sell an amiibo bike.
@Jeronan @ozwally Yep I really hope the same with ACS and it is a top port.
If nothing else it shows us and importantly other developers the standard the ports should be for switch 2 and for me if other ports are not up to that standard then I won’t buy them. Then hopefully other studios will take note and improve with top switch 2 ports.
Star Wars outlaws is the best port to switch 2 and for me allows the console to show off a bit and breaths life into what it can do and third party titles. It’s the title that says even more so than Nintendos own titles so far, look I’m a switch 2 and I can do this, I can keep up with this generation. It’s the title my friends look at and have a go on and say wow switch 2 can do this.
I really hope Nintendo take this much advantage graphics wise some of their up and coming switch 2 titles.
As for ACS if it does the same as SWO then Ubisoft will be for me the king of switch 2 developer graphics wise so far. A bit like Naughty Dog with the PS4 last generation.
It did cool but probably as expected for a sort of niche game. Now just bring on the MP4 weekend. For me the big N need or focus on Europe, there are some massive gains console and game sales wise to be had in Europe compared to PS5. Japan and USA fabulous, Europe some effort to improve more, definitely going on October 2026 European sales.
It’s ok for what it is but could be better on switch 2. The most annoying thing for me is the sort of fizzing around the foliage and is pretty noticeable in the area of high foliage and I heard and be easy to remove during development.
I still say the best ever port to switch 2 is Star Wars outlaws. Parts of the game do give me hopes for the future.
Fingers crossed this port is as good as Star Wars outlaws. That game has really set the port standards for me and any port doing less is not deserved of the Switch 2.
The really don’t do this type of promotion in the UK or Europe. Which you think they would as it is Nintendos weakest region out of Japan, USA and Europe.
I think they need better promotions in Europe if they wish to catch Sony in Europe.
We need to get used to this if we want bigger more graphical games on switch 2 and new third party AAA games, I certainly do, else what’s the point of the switch 2. TOTK is 19.9 gb, if Nintendo go all out on switch 2 with a new massive Zelda or Mario 3d platform game, big assets and textures etc as well, we could see 50gb for those new games.
@The-Chosen-one Thank you, my switch 2 ready for that as all 62gb. I want these big AAA third party games on my switch 2, so happy with the file sizes.
Switch 2 for me and the file size 31.6gb. I can’t complain as I want more graphical and bigger games for switch 2 and looks like I will get that with MP4. Shall be playing at 4K 60fps, also as I find 60fps to 120fps not that different. Unlike 30fps to 60fps I notice a big difference in smoothness and blurry when panning around.
@Axecon SWO is new ish for sure. I can’t see Nintendo making many mature games. And third party support for switch 2 seems to going ok. Will be very interesting to see how AC Shadows performs on switch 2 next month.

80 on Meta currently.

State of the industry.

Star Wars outlaws and in my opinion the best third party all round graphics on switch 2.
Donkey Kong bananza and in my opinion the best first party all round graphics on the switch 2.
Anyone else got some opinions on the above.

Day one for me, have played all the other MP and the original is still the best MP 1 for me so far.
Re: Nintendo Debuts Two Metroid Prime 4 Ads As Eight-Year Wait Nears Its End
@Axecon
Tomb raider and Sw outlaws are mature I think.
I know older games for switch 2 but SW outlaws runs incredibly well.
Re: Game Of The Year Nominee Donkey Kong Bananza Wins Critics' Choice Award
@the_beaver
Absolutely I shall be playing 4K at 60fps in December.
And who knows, may over take DKB as my switch 2 game of the year.
Re: Game Of The Year Nominee Donkey Kong Bananza Wins Critics' Choice Award
The game of year on switch 2 by a mile.
New, fresh and using some of Switch 2 capabilities.
We definitely need more of this, big AAA switch 2 only games from Nintendo studios.
Re: Video: We've Played Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition On Switch 2 - Here's 18 Minutes Of Gameplay
Been playing on Switch 2 docked on 65” QD-OLED, looks really good and sharp.
And the main thing 60fps, seems very smooth.
So far there is a bit of fizzing you can catch on the foliage.
And yes it could have been a bit better for switch 2 with some better effects I guess.
Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's File Size On Switch 2 Is Making Us Sweat

We all probably want bigger better games from Swtich 2 and more third party games, so increased size will happen.
I think Nintendo will keep their file sizes reasonable, but they could hit 50gb with a new massive Zelda game.
Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's File Size On Switch 2 Is Making Us Sweat
The newer games, remakes etc that the switch 2 can run, will have bigger files sizes.
It’s something Nintendo world will have to get used to.

Hoping for 60fps.
Re: Surprise! Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Is Available Now On Switch & Switch 2
Great game for switch and switch 2.
Any ideas on frame rate on switch 2, anybody.
Should be 60fps if they have done a proper job.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?

Also it’s not a major Nintendo release like MKW or DKB, meaning it won’t shift console sales.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?
Does nothing for me this Kirby racing.
I know it’s a different audience but more may have given it a try, if MKW wasn’t so new and around and in a bundle with switch 2.
Surprised Nintendo produced this game, at least now anyway.
It’s like we have tennis next year. What they should focus on next year is football with the World Cup in 2026, create a Mario soccer game and have it so you can play as your national team but Mario style. Like Mario England or Yoshi USA.
