Re: Capcom Says Ultra Street Fighter II And Monster Hunter XX Enjoyed Hit Status

NinjaSyao

They really need to stop their digital only crap, that's what's really been pissing people off lately, myself included. The absence of new stuff is also a problem like that Disney Afternoon Collection and MHXX.

If you look at the volume of games, they're actually doing the most of the big 3rd parties to support the Switch, but everything they release has a "but". No physical, 1 part physical the other a download code for collections, overpriced releases, no western localisation, etc.

It's hard to be happy with them when everything they do has something that leaves a bad aftertaste in your mouth v.v

Re: Steam Has Added Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Support In Its Latest Client Beta

NinjaSyao

Haven't been on Steam for a long time (the Switch has been keeping me busy xd) so I've got 2 questions:

1. Does the support effect button prompts for QTE's and other stuff in games? Had a lot of trouble in the past playing QTE heavy games with my Dualshock 4, due to it having icons on its buttons instead and the Xbox controller has its letters shifted around compared to the Nintendo controllers, so that's gonna be even more confusing.

2. Does this mean we can play games with gyro support (it's kinda like using a mouse so don't see why it couldn't be supported)?

Re: Limited Run Games Are Doing Some Lavish Collector's Editions Of FlintHook And Mercenary Kings Reloaded

NinjaSyao

@JoeyJoey95

Thanks for the heads-up, just subscribed to theirs and Limited Run Games' news letters. Hopefully I can grab those 2 games if/whenever they get announced.

I do wonder how long it'll take for them to start going after Capcom's games? Capcom pulling the "2nd game digital to save money" with all of their releases and pissing off tons of people in the process is just screaming for LRG and SRG to go after those games and garner some more goodwill from the community.

Re: Treasure Teases Both Ikaruga And Nintendo Switch Fans

NinjaSyao

I thought Treasure was dead at this point, good to see some activity again.

Ikaruga would definetly be a great game for the Switch ^_^

Edit: would kill for a collection of their old games (with widescreen support for the older ones ofcourse or true graphical updates would be even better!) with stuff like Sin & Punishment, Axelay and Mischief Makers on it.

Re: Video: There's A Chill In The Air With This New Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Trailer

NinjaSyao

Also a hard pass. Doesn't have the first game (would've really liked a HD version of the 3DS re-release that had the extra levels and no waggle gimmicks) alongside it and no new Lost World levels this time either for its re-release...
An easy mode that I'll never use is not enough to warrant an inflated price tag for an old game.

Wonderful 101 on the other hand, now that would be an easy sell for me as just it being on Switch would mean they'd be forced to change the dual-screen gimmick sections of the game. Hate those sections!
Maybe they could also improve the controls of the Star Fox-esque part near the end where you're flying towards the Geath Star (no, that's not a typo xd) as it was really hard to make small, precise movements with the crappy controls. It was like playing with huge deadzones on your analogue stick >.<

Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition Lands In North America On 8th May

NinjaSyao

Pre-ordered it. Looking forward to it as I did quite enjoy the previous ones and have been craving a good platformer (the wait for Yooka Laylee getting a physical edition has been a looooonnnng one v.v).

Also, with a bit of shopping around you can actually get this physical collector's edition for cheaper than the digital version + DLC downloads ^_^

Re: Splatoon 2 Version 2.3.0 Is Now Live

NinjaSyao

The Hydra Splatling finally has something that makes it stand out from the Heavy Splatling and the Tenta Missiles movement buff is a great change as well.

Haven't played Splatoon 2 in months, but I'm almost done with clearing out my backlog so looking forward to getting back into things ^_^

Re: Springtron Brings The Heavy Metal And Wins The Arms Party Crash

NinjaSyao

As expected, Springtron is easier to use and a noobkiller versus Kid Cobra who is quite difficult to use to his full potential.
Most of the party crashes have been won by the more beginner friendly character and I don't see this changing anytime soon, even with the points comeback mechanic in place.

Sadly had to miss out on this one, was a total clusterf*** at work this past weekend >.<

Re: RiME's Developer Has Been "Working Tirelessly" On A New Patch To Fix The Buggy Switch Port

NinjaSyao

Was very interested in it back at the start of the Switch's life where there wasn't a whole lot to play, but the delays, high price and poor performance coupled with how they were seemingly okay with releasing it like that has destroyed my interest.

Got other stuff to play now. I'll pass.

Edit: instead of hoping to get approved, they could just re-release the updated version of the game on the E-shop like that NBA Playgrounds Enhanced Edition that was released recently.

Re: Cheeky Facebook Tease Suggests Freedom Planet Might Be Heading For Switch

NinjaSyao

One of the few indie games on Wii U that really managed to grab, and hold, my attention for a long time.
It was just sooo much fun to play and quite frankly the only thing I didn't like was how the story had a lot of stuff that just wasn't explained at all. Really digged the world and its characters.

Having this and the sequel for on the go would be absolutely amazing! ^_^

Re: Review: Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon (Switch)

NinjaSyao

Typical Gust game really.

They make games with great soundtracks, good combat systems and decent-good plots with capable writing and nice characters in it and most of all... they're fun to play.
They don't make anything I'd call amazing, epic or GOTY blablabla, but darn it if they ain't consistent quality-wise.

Became quite a fan of their relaxing Atelier games after buying Escha & Logy on a whim last year too, which reminds me... I hope they release the other 2 games of the "Mysterious" trilogy too at some point.

Put this one on my wishlist for now. Got too much backlog that needs dealing with first and next year seems to be a lot more relaxed in terms of Nintendo's own games, so a good year for some 3rd party action to keep me busy ^_^

Re: Snake Pass Is Half Off on the North American eShop

NinjaSyao

Such an enormously frustrating game at first, but once you push through the huge learning curve it's a very fun game and I'm very much looking forward to the hinted at DLC.

This is the one game I want to recommend to people looking for something different, but am hesitant to do so as it demands a lot of perseverance of you.
Still, the effort required to play it is well worth it imo as it's a very fun game and I even picked up some new gamer skills ^_^

Re: Video: Check Out These New Mini Games in Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2

NinjaSyao

I wonder if they ever confirmed gyro support for the Pro Controller? I'll use the Joycon waggle option if not, but would prefer the other option.

Also, we need that Okami HD port with pointer controls + buttons for docked and touchscreen support for undocked. The Switch has everything needed to make it the definitive edition so hurry up Capcom!

Edit: the Ghouls 'n Ghosts minigame looks rather neat I must admit ^_^

Re: Review: Sparkle 2 (Switch eShop)

NinjaSyao

My mom is a hardcore Zuma player, but don't really see the appeal of it myself.

Would love to see a Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack game come out on the system though. Loved the SNES one as a kid and we haven't gotten one (as fas as I know) since Pokémon Puzzle League on the N64 v.v

Re: Mighty Gunvolt Burst Gets Two New DLC Characters

NinjaSyao

Bought it on a whim and ended up playing this way more than the other 3rd party games I have on the Switch.
Surprisingly fun game, despite being a "small" release compared to something like Azure Striker Gunvolt, and am looking forward to what new gameplay elements these 2 characters will bring ^_^

Re: Virtuos Emerges as the Developer Working on the L.A. Noire Port

NinjaSyao

@MrBlacky

From this site actually: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/09/feature_exploring_the_switch_tax_and_why_nintendo_was_right_to_use_game_cards

He's just a bit confused about the pricing part of it. The article said that the total cost for the 32GB cart is apparently above 20 bucks for the publisher, NOT that the cart is 20 bucks more expensive than the 16GB one.

The article also states something that's more important imo: the cost of 8GB carts is roughly the same as the discs being used for Sony/Xbox games.
With that information we finally have a good way of checking whether the Switch Tax is justified or not.

Re: First Impressions: Finding Our Way in Lost Sphear

NinjaSyao

Indivisible is also set to release that month.

A very high quality spiritual successor to Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria with dozens of hours of gameplay (awesome game on the PS2 btw, if you see it buy it!), or this...

A cheap looking 3DS RPG... oh pardon me, I meant a cheap looking "Switch" RPG that is a spiritual successor to another cheap looking "Switch" RPG, that didn't review all that well and was too highly priced for the small amount of content it had (40 bucks for a 10-15 hours RPG, really Square Enix?! >.<)?

Yeah, tough choice I know sarcasm
